Booked before Covid struck as 50th Birthday location for the family. Managed to get there for 52nd!!
Excellent property with large garden. Great location for exploring the Island. We all enjoyed our time.

Excellent location.
Beds extremely uncomfortable. Did not sleep much at all during our week away due to this. Garden is lovely and pleased we took our dog. However, it wasn’t very secure as she could fit through the trees that led to the road. Only some of garden had fencing around it. House clean and tidy. Well equipt kitchen. Strange that there is no tv in the larger living area which would have been better.
Overall lovely house and perfect location.

Very well equipped and comfortable. Lots of space in the house and great garden. Just one small suggestion- the siting of the TV in a small downstairs room meant we could not use the sofa bed there or all 10 of us watch the TV together. I would suggest moving this large TV to the main lounge and perhaps put a small tV in the sofa bed room.



Returning to a home from home after 10 years.

Binfield House is in the most beautiful surroundings, perfect for family get-togethers, well equipped. We returned here for my brother's 80th birthday, having visited previously for his 70th, and were not disappointed!

Overall we had a great week; the location is perfect and gives easy access to all the Isle of Wight’s many attractions.

The size of the property and the garden were perfect for our family group and the house was generally comfortable and clean.

However there’s a few points to address which would make this an even better holiday let:

- Garden hadn’t been weeded or mowed, the garden furniture and trampoline hadn’t been cleaned which we then had to clean ourselves

- Several lightbulbs needed replacing (c.10) which meant some rooms e.g. dining room were unusable in the evenings

- The sofa bed, for which we’d paid extra but couldn’t use, as when opened out was dirty, with dead bugs or insects on the mattress

- The instruction book in the kitchen needs updating as some of the appliances e.g. the oven were difficult to operate

The company themselves (Island Holiday Homes) were very helpful regarding these problems but I think a little more time and attention addressing the above simple points would further enhance the appeal of this property.

We were a family of 10, three generations. The house, garden, beds and linen/towels provided were all good. The kitchen is overstocked with the owners personal possessions, and we had to find and separate a set of plates and cutlery on the first day to use for the week. There are also too many personal possessions in some of the rooms leaving very little space for the guests. It feels like you are staying in someone else's home rather than a holiday home, we felt that the pricing should reflect this. Sadly the house does not live up to it's 4* rating (on cottages.com). The kitchen was not very clean and the fridge was leaking water onto the floor. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. Otherwise a fab holiday in beautiful weather.

Lovely large house we were 6 adults 4children 3 generations and 2 dogs who loved the large garden .Plenty of room in house for everyone to have space if wanted to chill .Bedrooms large and beds very comfy also loads of spare bedding if needed .Fantastic equipped kitchen.Barbeque and plenty of seating outside where we satt in evening as weather was kind to us .Very central for getting around island .The only downside to this property and this is from my 4 granddaughters 9-15trs was is the lovel big garden is crying out for a hot tub ! Hope to return Lynne Shaw

A great sized house with various options for sleeping arrangements - very useful for sharing with another family and/or differing age groups! Lovely kitchen with plenty of storage, utensils, cooking & fridge facilities. large dining & living areas, as well as a smaller tv room for the less social among us! The homeowners had most generously left plenty of games, books & dvds (which could prove valuable in bad weather) & the garden was a brilliant size for games, as well as the options of BBQ with plenty of outside dining furniture. The house was situated in an ideal location on the island and the owners had left a complete folder of information, advice & recommendations on places to visit / things to do. We found the house very clean & the staff at the Island Holiday Homes were extremely helpful, both upon booking an d during our visit. Would highly recommend the house & we intend to re-book ourselves for next year.

A great place for our family holiday. Plenty of room for four children to play in the garden. The house was well equipped and comfortable. The location was good for a number of attractions but the amount of traffic going into Newport made the journeys long.

I was impressed with the friendly service from Island Homes, who were always very helpful on the phone. Good to get a discount on the ferry booking.
The house was spacious and good for a family gathering. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking big family meals and the dining room had plenty of space for a big family meal. The sitting room was comfortable.
The house felt cold and damp when we arrived, especially the downstairs bedroom. Double glazing in the extension would be a benefit. The bedrooms have good storage space and are adequately furnished, but the duvets were a bit thin for cold spring nights. The wardrobes in the downstairs bedroom were full of bedding so there was no hanging space. The garden looked nothing like it does in the picture - the grass was overgrown and very wet and boggy in places, not a neat lawn as depicted. It must be much better in the summer!
