This property in Recess has fantastic views over the Twelve Bens Mountains. In the foreground, panning out in front of the property is beautiful natural bog land. Its not often you would get an opportunity like this to live in such tranquillity.

Positives - Gearoid is very friendly and had the wood burner lit when we arrived. Lovely views from the back across the mountains. Neighbours at the top of the lane were very welcoming. Centrally located in Connemara so access to places of interest was fairly easy.

Suggested improvements. House needs to be thoroughly cleaned and cleared. There were items such as Christmas cards and personal belongings in drawers in one of the bedrooms and living room area. Floor in the living room area was sticky underfoot. No shower curtain/screen so floor in bathroom becomes flooded.
Kitchen utensils were lacking e.g. potato peeler, ladles and scissors. Crockery was quite old.
Patio area, very uninviting.
Old food in the fridge when we arrived, some of this was out of date.

Lovely location Close to the main route between clifden and Galway and stunning mountain views from the main sitting area. The house has been tastefully decorated with wooden flooring, vintage doors and lovely art work. Perfect size for a family of 4. Suggestions to help value for money Score would be - the oven was past the point of usable, the Bed mattresses could do with replacing (soft memory foam toppers didn’t help with the nights sleep), the outside decking was tired. Also a guide to the house/ area would have been helpful.
