A charming tiny one bedroom stone cottage overlooking Lough Muck and the surrounding mountains. There is parking for two cars on the road then some steps up to the cottage also there is parking beside the house.This property is priced competitively and is ideal for a couple who really like the outdoor life.The vast expanse of Glassillaun beach is 1.2km from the cottage over the hill and is also the base for Scuba Dive West. Within walking distance are Lough Muck and Lough Fee which are salmon, sea trout and small brown trout lakes. You must have a licence to fish on these lakes.

We had a wonderful stay in Westry Cottage. The location is perfect for anyone looking to get away from it all - no internet, TV or phone signal (unless you sit in the window seat) - it was just what we were looking for. The cottage is fairly basic but had everything we needed for a week and the views across the lough to the mountain provided us with all the entertainment we needed as we watched the constantly changing weather patterns sweep by.
While the location of the cottage is secluded it is also within easy reach of Connemara's many attractions - a beautiful beach just a couple of km away, the gateway to the National Park is about 10km and the nearest towns of Westport/Clifden are under an hour by car.
Would thoroughly recommend a stay in Westry.

Very quiet place with a wonderful view not fare from everywhere. Zenitude, peaceful, nice small house with friendly sheeps in the garden....to test absolutely!

I would like to live there. The location is amazing, both the immediate scenery as well as the ease of access to any number other wonderful places, including services and provisions.

It is a great place to stay if you like to get away from a busy and stressful (urban) life - this is what we did. It is close to the lake which is nice to wake up to. In the evening, you can sit close to the fireplace, talk, read a book or just simply relax. We really enjoyed it and will come back for sure. The caretaker is really nice and helpful and will assist you in any kind of way!

The location was perfect, beach, mountains, town, various villages all in easy reach. Very comfortable though the interior has a somewhat neglected feel about it. Not wonderfully organized for a guest residence. But nothing so far as to say inconvenient, just scattered. The structure itself is great I just think a little more care could be put into setting the place up as a rental.

I had a fantastic week thanks to the excellent weather and because of that I loved the place. The cottage is comfortable but because of the weather I could sit outside and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Be aware that this cottage is basic but comfortable. I wouldn't try to sleep more than 2 people here as it is very snug. As a single person with two dogs and being able to sit, eat and relax outside it was wonderful but in bad weather and trying to keep everything inside would feel very claustrophobic unless you were out all day. There isn't a fitted kitchen with dishwasher/washing machine etc but everything works fine - it just depends on your expectations.
