My family and I stayed here for our annual summer holiday, we chose The Hyning Estate as we wanted to be away from the crowds in luxury; it did not disappoint!! Backside Barns, which consists of 2 separate cottages linked with a doorway, was perfect!! Very comfortable beds, nice leather sofas and nice touches like dishwashers and big screen TV’s. It was immaculately clean when we arrived, with an easy check-in procedure. During our stay we borrowed the BBQ which was well presented, and enjoyed playing with the football goal with my son. Overall we couldn’t have been happier with our choi...more
Lovely cottage in a very cosy great location to explore the lakes and national trust gardens. levens hall and gardens/sizergh castle worth a visit would reccomend staying here. Very helpful owners who made sure the cottage was safe and clean.
Only 5 miles from Kendal, yet tranquil and quiet. The property is well furnished with all you could want. We visited busy Windermere sights, but retreated to the Hyning where we enjoyed an extremely comfortable bed and brilliant shower.
From the drive up to the vast expanse of the property, Hyning was all that we could have asked for to getaway from the humdrum of our London life. We are a family of 2 adults and a child aged 9 and we loved the peace and quiet of the property. We went right after the second relaxation of rules (covid) in April ‘21. Richard ensured that all rules and brochures reached us via email well ahead of time to ensure we have a safe, clean and enjoyable time at the property. A huge added advantage is the EV charging point - just make sure you take your cables if you have an EV. The rooms are all comfort...more
Had an absolutely fantastic stay. The cottage has everything you could possibly need. Really comfortable, everything top quality and in excellent condition. There is nothing we would suggest improving! The grounds are also gorgeous and hugely relaxing. We have stayed several times at Hyning Estate and will definitely be back!
The Hyning Estate is an old country manor, converted to form a series of holiday cottages which can inter-connect to provide versatile accommodation. We stayed in Hall Beck Cottage, which has 3 bedrooms (one king, one double, one twin) but has a large kitchen and dining area (as, presumably, it would be the main dining area if you were inter-connecting multiple units). The standard of conversion is impeccable, with high specification throughout. As such, it has everything we wanted and needed with some lovely additional touches (eg coffee, jams etc) thrown in. Beds were very comfortable an...more
We have just come back from spending 5 nights away in this beautiful cottage. It really does have a home from home feel about it. The cottage has been finished to a real high standard and everything has been well thought of. It was spotlessly clean and kitted out with everything you need and more. The views are stunning and it was only a 15 min car journey to Kendal and we found the location great for visiting lots of other beautiful places. I would highly recommend The Old Forge cottage and definitely intend on visiting again!
We were very pleased with our stay with you.The water in the shower was very hot .The place was very good and the owners very pleasant.
What an amazing place to spend with family. It’s spacious with everything you could ask for. The views are amazing, and it is so nice to sit, read/relax with the backdrop of country sounds - birds singing, sheep bashing. Absolutely brilliant.
