The apartment is perfect, very clean and spacious. Restaurants and supermarket are 4' walk away. It is surprising to have the city so close because, in the apartment, we are really in nature: very quiet, wild, the sea in front of the windows. A big thank you to Helen for her welcome. We will come back with pleasure

The space was beautifully set up and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was both stunning and peaceful yet only a few feet from the town center. We will be back!

We have been to Clifden before but never stayed close to the town. Helen's Hideaway was a mere 300m from the main street and perfectly placed. It's dog friendly too and ours didnt waste time heading down to the water. The winter sun (when it appeared) beamed in the windows all day and the view is really peaceful. The apartment was roomy, beds comfy, plenty of hot water and catered for everything. We would certainly stay there again next time.

The recent stay at Helen's Hideaway in the town of Clifden was a good time. The self-catering apartment was delightful and the setting accommodating. The peaceful location and privacy superb. The apartment could not be better situated for the easy access into town, to the shops, banking facilities, and church for example. The changing tides and scenic views daily were a great treasure indeed, alongside nature at one's own doorstep. Mrs Ferguson's hospitality much appreciated and her kind approach gave a super welcome to a lovely stay at the cosy hideaway, that is, a place to be recommended to anyone visiting Connemara. Thank you Helen, and also to the lovely people at Connemara Holiday Lettings.

A quiet yet central location and well equipped apartment. Plenty of room for 4 people and we entertained 8 people for dinner with no problem.

We liked Helen's Hideaway so much that this is already our second visit. The apartment is spacious with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so ideal for 2 couples or a family. It's got everything you need including lots of lovely fluffy towels and luxurious bedding. But what makes this property so special is the location. It's tucked away on the ground floor of a large house, with views over the estuary. Whether you are sitting enjoying the sun on the terrace (which in theory is possible the whole day but it is Ireland) or relaxing in the apartment, it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere when actually you are just a couple of minutes from the many excellent pubs, restaurants and shops that Clifden has to offer. Clifden is a charming, bustling wee town, with great facilities. The food, the drink and the music are great. And if you head out of town from the apartment along Beach Road, you are rewarded with a lovely walk along with a great pub at the end of it. There is so much to see and do in Connemara that I couldn't begin to describe it all. The scenery is spectacular wherever you go. I can't imagine a better location than Helen's Hideaway as a base to discover this beautiful area.

Fantastic location, great view of harbour from suntrap patio. Very comfortable beds with lovely linen. Excellent bathrooms. Everything you could need. Helen is very friendly and helpful. Perfect for two couples. Be aware if you are in any way wary of steps - 40 steep ones!. i would highly recommend it.

This is a very nice place to stay in Clifden. Maybe the nicest. That being said, it is down a long, outdoor stair. Be aware of that if you have steamer trunks, barbells or other heavy travel gear. Likewise, the directions aren't intuitive. It can be hard to find, at least it was for us.

It is well-appointed, utterly private, close to everywhere you want to be and has the best view in town.

Did I mention Helen's pretty nice, too.

Wij hebben een fantastische vakantie gehad in Helen`s Hideaway!
De woning is heel compleet, de bedden zijn fantastisch.
Prachtig uitzicht en 3 minuten lopen van het centrum waar veel pubs en heel goede restaurants zijn!
En Conemara is prachtig!

We spent a wonderful week at Helen’s Hideaway. The apartment is ideally located less than a couple of minutes’ walk from Clifden town centre – you’re only ever a short stroll away from the many bars and restaurants in the evening.

It’s a spacious apartment and is blessed with a south-facing patio that affords glorious views over the river estuary and is a real sun trap for most of the day. Our only criticism was the state of the garden which was quite overgrown with brambles, weeds and gunnera during our visit and which would certainly benefit from some attention. It didn't spoil our stay, however, and we’d have no hesitation in recommending the apartment to others.

Can not fault our stay in any way. We had a 1 year old child with us, high chair and cot were provided. The apartment was bigger than expected, had everything we needed and location was perfect. You can't go wrong staying here.

We had a very good stay in this apartment. On our arrival, the cot and highchair were ready for my daughter and the owner even provided toys and stuffed animals for her. Everything was clean, rooms were large, beds were comfortable... Location is excellent as 1 min walk from grocery store and the city, while providing the feeling of the country side with a very pretty view.

I strongly recommend!
