Loved our stay here - beautiful property, spotless & well maintained, great location as a few minutes drive to Clifden & all the buzz of the town, to return to the cottage & tranquillity, nothing but the sound of the birds!
Comfy beds, spacious & plenty of natural light in the cottage. Will return!

Had a great stay at a very nice house. Where back after renting same last year aswell. Great house, fine location. Wifi bit weak.

Lovely house. Very new, clean and comfortable. There is a big garden with a view on the beautifull landscape. Very quiet, the brother of the owner is really very kind. Near to a lot of beautifull and interesting places to visit. Clifden is also a nice and lively town with pubs, restaurants, shops and supermarkets. We have had a fantastic holiday in the Hilside House!

The house was very confortable, spacious and very clean, the owner was available when needed and prompt to answer our questions, the landscape around was stunning and the localisation - less than 10mn from Clifden- was perfect. We spent a wonderful stay at Hillside house and would highly recommend it.

Hillside house is a lovely and spacious, modern house in an incredible location. The rooms are huge with all the mod cons that you could ask for. The views from any window are beautiful and the surroundings are amazing. You can see for miles with the mountains as your back drop. It is a really easy and quick drive into Clifden with its array of shops, pubs and restaurants. We had a wonderful week there and will definitely be back.

We enoyed a very peaceful and comfortable week in Hillside House. It is well equipped and everything works. Patrick was on hand for any queries that we had.

We loved the views, sounds and light of Connemara. An excellent base for ourr holiday.

Hillside House is beautifully located and extremely clean and cared for, the wood burner stove was the best I've ever had dealings with, and the host was responsive and positive. However, when I arrived after a 30-hour day and 20 hours of international travel, the house was freezing cold. I turned on the heat for the two hours there were instructions for, and after those two hours, the temperature in the kitchen was still only 14C, and the house was damp. I decided to watch TV for distraction and discovered that none of the channels were tuned in and nothing worked. Then I thought I'd make a fire but there was neither lighter or any matches. Eventually I figured out how to turn on the heating and leave it on, how to adjust the TV receiver so it could pick up channels, and I never did find a lighter. Instead, I drove into Clifden and bought one. After that, I left the heating on for the next 36 hours, and the house finally started to hold heat after three days. For the rest of my 12 night stay, the house was liveable, especially with that view and the excellent stove, but the damp never went away. I'm guessing there hadn't been anyone in the house for weeks and everybody was doing their best, but it was a discouraging welcome.

This is our second time at Hillside House and it was just as good as we remembered. Warm, welcoming and spotlessly clean. Had a really great week. Beautiful walks right from the door, five minutes into Clifden. Just perfect for us. Loved it. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house has everything you need to make it feel like it is a home away from home. This is our second time to stay at Hillside and we hope to visit again soon.

Such a beautiful house in a beautiful location. Stayed for a week and wished we had booked for a second one. Will definitely go back for another stay. The house is amazing and a lovely feeling when you walk in. Everything we needed for a great holiday was provided. Won’t be staying anywhere else.

We have just returned from a week's stay in Hillside House and it was fabulous. The house is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and is so well equipped with everything you could want during your stay. The location is perfect and with having two young kids with us, the big gated garden was ideal for them. It was our first visit to Clifden and we will definitely be back!

Fabulous building and facilities. Everything you could wish for. Owner is local and available by phone. Attentive to detail and requests for help / advice.

A lot of thought has gone into building and equipping Hillside House but please could you provide softer pillows, chests of drawers in the bedrooms, more teaspoons, bedside lights that are bright enough to read by and a printed information paper not bits of paper stuck on the appliances. We never did work out the heating system.

We arrived home safely again. We liked it very much at Hillside Haus. Cleanliness, location, equipment very good. I have two criticisms. The mattresses from the left bedroom were no longer the best. I also think it's better if the bedrooms were equipped with two single beds. The second point is that the toilets in the bathrooms, which somehow did not fit properly and were loose.

We had a great stay at Hillside House. Warm, comfortable, light, well-equipped and very clean. The owner, Martin was really helpful. It’s a lovely location really near to Clifden but also feels like you’re “out in the wilds” as well. A short drive to beautiful beaches and the mountains. We’d love to come back and were very sad to leave. Thank you.

Thanks for a wonderful week in your house. There was nothing about the house that we could complain or be dissappointed with. Although the house is a little bit outside of Clifden, It is still within cycling distance. if you are interested in social walking go to the discovery point at Derrigimlagh and follow the history trail around the old signal station. Or walk from the house up to Lough Fadda for a walk into the Wilderness of Connemara. Also visit Inishbofin & Diamond Hill. The house itself has everything you need,

A very lovely house inside and out very modern the beds however are not comfortable all the pillows which are very big and not sumptuous which was a shame and I would advise anyone to keep the windows closed in warm weather as we were eaten alive by a midget other than that a lovely house to stay in

We fell in love with this house and its surroundings - Everything was perfect from start to finish! The house is immaculate and modern and suits our family of 4 perfectly. The kitchen/house has everything you need for a self-catering holiday and is very spacious. We spent most of our time sitting in there and out on the patio, looking out on the gorgeous views. It's also in a super location with Clifden only a few minutes away! It was our best family holiday to date, and even though we were out and about for most of the day, the house and its surroundings definitely added to the overall experience. Having somewhere so lovely and clean to go home to after a long day was the icing on the cake, and we can't wait to return next year!

Excellent house and good location to base yourself in. Very clean house which allowed us to relax. No concerns around hygiene.

Will need a car but is a short drive to Clifden and Ballyconneely and Roundstone not too much further.

Host was friendly and there were no issues on arrival or departure - in fact went out of his way to return items to use that we left behind.

Would recommend particularly for family

I’m just back from a week spent in Hillside House and can’t recommend it enough. The house itself is beautiful, extremely comfortable and well equipped, and was spotlessly clean. The location is perfect - quiet and remote but only a short drive into Clifden which has plenty of restaurants, shops and supermarkets, and the perfect base for exploring the many attractions of Connemara. All communications with both Connemara Lettings and the owner were dealt with promptly and efficiently. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Hillside house is a gem. Located between Clifden and Ballyconneelly, in an idyllic spot in the blanket bog. The house was fully equipped and very well appointed. Martin couldn't have been nicer. Very relaxed. The house was spotless.

Hillside House was perfect for our week in Connemara, great location as a base for touring wonderful north Connemara and Mayo. The house was fully equipped included nice small touches like welcoming pack. I highly recommend this holiday home.
