Vince Cottage and the Kingsdown Shepherd’s Hut are nestled in the pretty village of Kingsdown on the East Kent coast. The beach is a few minutes walk away, where you will find The Zetland Arms, a lovely beach front pub that looks out onto the white cliffs. The village also has two pubs, a butchers and small local shop and post office.

Vince Cottage is one of the oldest cottage in the village and is a charming, light and bright cottage beautifully decorated by the owner. To the front of the cottage, there is a blaze of wisteria and roses in the spring and summer. Inside, the cottage has a large open space ground floor perfect for socialising, with doors onto a paved patio and newly planted cottage garden. At the top of the garden is a shepherd’s hut, providing an oasis for two, and is completely self contained. The hut is for over 16s only.

A short drive away, you will find Deal and Walmer in one direction and St Margaret’s Bay and Dover in the other, so plenty of things to do, places to explore and history in which to immerse yourself.

Wonderful but needs maintenance and deep clean

We had a genuinely wonderful week in Vince Cottage. Beautiful location just a few minutes from the beach where you can enjoy a drink from The Zetland Arms.

The shepherd’s hut is immaculate and a beautiful place to stay. The main house is also charming but unfortunately the level of cleaning was under par and there were a number of maintenance tasks that needed attention.

The property could be absolutely amazing with a thorough deep clean and a day of maintenance work.

Great location, nicely decorated.
No arrival pack.
Bathroom in the house not practical for those with reduced mobility- we had two persons over 80 in our group. Shower over bath, from a sloping roof. - good luck of you are over 170cm.
Shepherds hut is fine, path there is across quite deep loose stones so again not suitable for elderly.
Great for young adults or those with young family. Considering the price an arrival pack would have been appropriate.
