We had a lovely time at the cottage albeit due to Covid-19 we had to cut our stay short by a day. The views from the living room are wonderful and the owners even had the fire on for us when we arrived which I thought was a lovely gesture. The walks from the property were brilliant and the local shop was well stocked and the people friendly. We would definitely like to go back again once this situation is over. The sun even shone!
My husband and I stayed at Ocean view the week beginning 3/10/20. It was his belated 60th birthday treat, cancelled from June due to our friend covid! The cottage was clean and initially had a fresh smell, as time went on, it was apparent there was a smell of damp in the master bedroom. I guess most people do not like to be overheated in bed and the heating is not used as often in the bedroom as the lounge. We did not use the bedroom heating. It was very comfortable and cosy, the heating was very efficient, the fire was laid for us, but we didn't use it. The kitchen had everything we cou...more
Loved our recent short stay at Croft caravan in October. The caravan was well equipped, clean and comfortable. It was very peaceful with beautiful views. We have been many times before and will be returning to recharge our batteries as soon as we can!
We were residents in Rudh Dubh for 4 weeks, and we enjoyed this time very, very much! Particularly we liked it really very much, how lovingly, how well considered the cottage was equipped. We missed nothing. The cottage in her seclusion was exactly that one we sought after. The location at the edge of the sea and the wonderful landscape of Ardnamurchan around let us have enjoyed our stay. Not to forget the very friendly, helpful and openness Scottish people we met. We loved this cottage and we were afflicted to leave it. The price of seclusion is a) the great distance to the next store (...more
A week in late November - house was warm and comfortable, ideal for our lazy objectives. The weather caught us out - calm and mild, when we were prepared for proper winter! No complaints, though, we enjoyed the winter solitude.
First impressions are important. To get to the front door you have to pass through a poorly maintained, unattractive wooden gate with bits of chicken wire and pass a smelly wall-mounted, rusty used-cigarette box. Bundles of cardboard and an item of broken plastic garden furniture were stacked in front of the house. The abandoned garden was overgrown, scruffy and unappealing. In its favour, the lodge is well equipped and comfortable however there were cobwebs in the corners of every room - including in the upstairs double bedroom where we were sleeping.
Third visit to Strathconon and first time visiting Ardnamurchan in November. Lovely and cosy accommodation which had everything that was required. Will definitely be back.
Ardvaig is comfortable, well-equipped, & cosy. The views from the living room, & main bedroom are fabulous. It is peaceful, & remote, which is what we were looking for, especially this year! Whilst we felt it was perhaps a little dated, & could have benefited from a deeper clean, especially in the kitchen cupboards, & drawers, it otherwise had everything we needed. We would certainly stay again, & would recommend Ardvaig, & Kilchoan to anyone who loves peace, the outdoors, wildlife & wonderful views. The weather was mixed during our stay, however, that didn't matter, as, if it was too incle...more
Another great holiday in Ian's despite the weather made even more comfortable with the new furniture and furnishings. Loved the choice of books to read, something for everyone. Just feel at home here hence why I keep coming back.
Jack's ranch wad a great place to stay I an unspoilt area. Well equipped and comfortable, with local shop. Ferry to mull and boat trips to staffa.
