A very well appointed cottage very clean. And comfortable . Lovely part of the country we have been visiting this area for several years and we love it.
Nothing much to say other than we keep coming back! Alastair and Janet have the perfect property in the perfect place and keep it in perfect condition. Add amazing weather, an eagle or two, an otter and dolphin. Plus pine martens in the garden plus a first class curry delivery from Sanna Spice, walks from the doorstep in all directions, a Produce Market in Kilchoan and the excellent Ferry Stores and Community Garden. Life doesn’t get any better.
Cracking location, very well equipped. The porch is a great addition as it means your not tripping over stuff in the van if you travel heavy.
A wonderful corner of the world. Peaceful, wild, wonderful. The Byre is comfortably set out, John had the stove running before we arrived to a warm welcome. Lovely garden and views over to the sea. John's local knowledge lead us to some wonderful, stunning, wildlife in the local area and bay. Close by is the wonderful Sana Bay and dramatic volcanic hills. Good for the local shop, coffee house and pub which also offers some really good takeaways. Close to the local ferry to Mull Can't wait to return
Cannot begin to say how great a time we had. Such a well thought out and comfortable cottage in a superb location.
Spent Christmas in this beautiful home with plenty room for all the family and so very well equipped with lots of extras..and amazing views.. to make a stay here special.
This was ideal for five adults and location was brilliant directly opposite the bay with fab views of sunsets from bedroom, iving room and front garden . Very conveniently located for walks either way to Sanna bay or to The Lighthouse. Very well equipped for rainy days too with TV, board games, wifi and woodburner. Garage with washer and barbecue very useful too. Easy parking.
Been to the house a few times, feels like a second home. Very well equipped n homely. Lovely owners who are always happy to help. Wonderful location for relaxing n enjoying the lovely scenery n locals. Will be back again soon.
We had a great time staying in the house for a week. Toasty. Bigger than expected, kitchen is great, kids loved playing in all the rooms. The views and sunsets from the living room on a clear day are spectacular. Ardnamurchan is totally amazing and chilled out. Swordle bay is nice, walks from Fascadale and Ockle. Puffin cafe is great.
Dilemma? If we give a rave review , we reduce the possibility of getting a repeat booking for a location we would very much like to return to! Say no more .
The bungalow was bigger than we expected and very well equipped. The view from the lounge and front bedrooms was fabulous! We would have liked WiFi connection but at least the 4G phone signal was enough to post to social media to boast about the beautiful place we were staying! Cleanliness has just got an OK because of the giant spiderwebs hanging from the utility room ceiling. Bathrooms and kitchen were spotless! Lots to do in the area . We wished we had booked for 2 weeks!
Fabulous cottage nicely presented, with an excellent array of kitchen and household appliances. It had a lovely view, with lots of birds on the bird feeders, over looking the well maintained garden. Fabulous base to explore Ardnamurchan from, with the Puffin cafe, Kilchoan hotel, community centre and shop all within a reasonable walking distance, and a short drive to Sanna and the lighthouse. Lovely cottage, just the road is a bit rough in parts.
Uncomfortable beds and. Extremely bad sofas, we were in the cabin a lot due to very bad weather so comfort was important. I was disappointed to find black mould at the kitchen sink and in the shower. It is worth paying extra for the better quality cabins which have WiFi and sky in. case of bad weather. P. S the fridge door needs to be the other way round.
This cottage was almost double the cost of a cottage on Mull the previous week, so our expectations were fairly high. The Lighthouse is quite remote, but a reasonably easy drive from Kilchoan, where we found a nice shop which supplied most basic essentials (although we were glad we had done a good shop at Tobermory before our ferry crossing to Ardnamurchan). The Lighthouse is a magnet for visitors and is open every day, so the tip of the peninsular was not empty during the day. The cottage was clean, and contained one good-sized bedroom (which unfortunately had supplied a king-sized quilt c...more
The lodge was excellent for us as we were working in the area, had everything we needed, we just had to bring food and clothes, didn’t get to go the local shop but apparently it is well stocked, Thanks for a nice week just a pity we were working most of it.
Enjoyed our stay in Kilchoan, we were very lucky with the weather, dry and sunny days in late November.
The property was vey cold and the alterations haven’t been finished off.it could be a very good property if it was finished off and had central heating and the Rayburn worked.
