Waterford Castle, self-catering lodges, are perfectly positioned on an estuary of the River Suir just one mile down river from Waterford City, Waterford Castle Lodges, enjoys the idyllic seclusion of an Island but is at the same time conveniently located very close to the city. With a journey time of just three minutes, the island operates a private ferry service providing a constant 24/7 service to and from Waterford. It is well serviced by road, rail and bus and Waterford Regional Airport is less than 10 kms away.

Very comfortable and modern large house. Would happily move in permanently! Gas cooker. Island. Beds and bed linen high quality. Playground beside houses. Basketball court close to hotel. Car journey from town but easy commute and worth it. Pass shops at Ardkeen for supplies. Ferry went within 5/ 10 mins of arriving at water side. Would highly recommend for self catering.

It was the first time for us at the Lodges, and it was so good, we plan to return whenever we are in the area.

The lodges are completed to a very high standard. The beds are very comfortable, the sheets are hotel quality and the kitchen was well kitted out. Really liked the washer and dryer as well. TV was a good size with lots of channel options and the sofas were also very comfortable. Having a playground so near to the lodge was fantastic and the kids really enjoyed playing there. Luckily we had great weather so jogging and walking around the Island was a very popular activity as was the kids' club. The staff running the club did an excellent job and the children really enjoyed it. We didn't really use the Castle for food etc but did try the Golf Club and the food was very good and the staff very friendly and efficient. it wasn't all perfect but the things that weren't quite right were considered in the great scheme of things. These were a dripping tab in the kitchen, a mop that very badly needed to be replaced and a toaster that tripped the electrics. I did bring these to the attention of a member of staff who said maintenance would come by and sort these issues out but they never came. We didn't follow up and at check out my husband didn't get a chance to tell staff. Would I come back again. Most definitely. If there were similar problems next time I would be more instant about such niggles being resolved but on this visit we were fairly mesmerized by the whole place.
