This was our first break away with friends since the beginning of the pandemic. We were hoping for an exceptional property and we were certainly rewarded. The setting is unique with far reaching views from the two main bedrooms. The quality of the restoration and conversion is superb. We enjoyed preparing shared meals in the bight, spacious, well equipped kitchen area and relished feasting together around the large, sociable table. Everything felt clean and safe and airy. We will remember this very special place for a long time.
Susan and Robert made us feel very welcome. Every comfort was provided, in such a beautiful location. We were reluctant to leave! Walking from the property along the Arun onto the Downs was a real pleasure.
The farm cottage is well located for venturing out into all that beautiful Sussex has to offer. Quiet, very comfortable, well equipped throughout, a sensitive barn conversion with all the mod cons. The owners were delightful as were their hens, turkeys and cats who visited often... The lemon cake, eggs and bread on arrival were a nice touch and much appreciated. Thank you. Lots of excellent places to visit nearby - something for everyone.
We cannot recommend this place enough. Brilliant accomodation, thoughtful touches & friendly owner .
A clean and comfortable apartment in an excellent location in the town centre and near historic attractions.
Excellent property, lovely location which was ideal for visiting gardens , Brighton and Seaford. The new property had everything you need for a relaxing break away. The owner was on hand for any reason and she had left a homemade cake , local cheese and wine. What more could you want ?
Very clean and comfortable cottage, everything we needed and more, will definitely stay here again next year
This property was lovely and exactly as pictured in the details with modern and comfortable touches. Situated close to local shops, restaurants and bars it provided a good home base. Car parking was about £2 a night and within 2 mins walk. Bedrooms comfortable and of a good size with plenty of storage with one at the front of the property and other at the rear, being in the center we could hear traffic noise however during the important sleeping hours it was pretty quiet.
The whole experience was first class, staying on a working dairy farm with my grandchildren, they witnessed a calf being born in the adjacent field, and watched the milking process. The location is central with lots to do within a 30 mile radius.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Dairy. A well kept property , with characters and excellent facilities.
Wowwwww - One of the best cottage I’ve been in my life. It’s all brand new and the location is amazingggggggg!! I would highly recommend it to everybody really and If I’ll be in Lewes again, it will definitely my first choice. Thank you much for making my holiday a dream. Beautiful beautiful beautiful Cottage ❤️
The "Old Stables" was perfect for our short stay in West Sussex for a wedding nearby. The cottage was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated .Everything we needed was there and we were very grateful for food basics to be included .The hosts popped in to explain the heating and nothing was too much trouble .The outlook in the small garden was lovely despite coming on a very narrow road to get there !
Lovely barn with delightful garden. Quality of all fixture and fittings excellent with lovely extra touches such as fresh flowers in each room and a delightful welcome basket. Penny was a perfect host keen to ensure we had a lovely stay .
This cottage provided ample space and facilities for our party of ten. It was very well equiped so no shortage of anything. Our four grandchildren made full use of the heated swimming pool and playroom. Will definately recommend this for a perfect family holiday.
Mallingdown Oast is a cosy comfortable cottage situated in the owner’s grounds. It has a pleasant aspect looking out over lawns and fields beyond. The inside is a mixture of traditional and contemporary styling with paintings, ornaments and freshly cut flowers creating a homely feel. The level of cleanliness and condition of furnishings is exceptional; and the beds are comfy. The kitchen is very well equipped with quality items. The parking is easily accessible, and there is a small area of the garden for the use of Oast guests with table and chairs. There is Sky TV and WiFi available, although...more
Jubilee House offered very comfortable accommodation, in a quiet location but just a short walking distance from the town centre with plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. Whilst still under covid restrictions during our stay, we still found plenty of things to do, within a short distance. Having the garden to sit in was a real boon and so was the very well equipped house, including the kitchen. Kate was very helpful and friendly.
Westside Cottage is in lovely place to stay. Everything you need for a relaxing break. Would highly recommended. Spotlessly clean & hosts on site if needed. Good position for Coast & South Downs.
A fantastic spacious cottage situated on a nice quite street in Arundel. The cottage is very well equipped and homely and was spotlessly clean. Highly recommended!
On arrival Chris showed us around the cottage and made us feel very welcome The location is excellent, close to the South Downs Way, Ditchling Village and local walks. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. It was warm, comfortable and modern with a great TV. The bed was large and comfortable and the shower was great too. Chris and Eileen were very friendly, fun and helpful and had great local knowledge. It was lovely to explore their beautiful garden and see their hens. Hope to visit again in the future.
Neat and tidy little cottage, well equipped. Very clean on entry. Owner next door to deal with any queries or problems. Road outside could be busy at times and local parking made entry/exit awkward at times. Car necessary. Pleasant walks nearby. Close to scenic country and seascapes. Most enjoyable stay.
We loved everything about Down Under. It is fully equipped with a high end finish, sat in a perfect location to walk and explore the countryside around. 10/10
We spent a very comfortable Christmas and New Year at Northash in between house moves. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The cottage is spacious and tastefully furnished. The location offers plenty of opportunities for local walks whilst being in easy reach of the National Park and the coast.
Situated in a peaceful village amongst stunning countryside Lavender Lodge is a special place to stay. The hosts were friendly, informative and generous (thank you). The accommodation was immaculate, very well equipped and full of unexpected extras. We would love to return - highly recommended.
Beautifully appointed barn. All needs catered for, lovely open outlook and views. Fine linens and towels, spotlessly clean. Helpful and charming owner. Very happy with our stay. Highly recommend.
Such a nice property. It had everything you needed, even a welcome box! Everything was to the highest quality. Lovely helpful owners. We enjoyed our drinks on the terrace overlooking the pond. It felt like home from home. Hope to return! Thank you
We enjoyed our week at Owl Cottage. This is a small, very comfortable cottage in the gorgeous village of Amberley. It is a huge advantage that the village has a well stocked shop with a good selection of food and drink. The cottage is very well appointed and immaculately presented. Outside the kitchen there is a small sunny courtyard. The front garden has a huge bench which is more comfortable than it looks, and a pond surrounded by abundant colourful planting in the borders. Inside: the king-size bed is comfy in our opinion, the walk in shower is convenient and plenty of hot water did...more
The apartment was ideally situated for travelling the area. It was spotless clean & provided everything you needed. Plus all the goodies left by Ann & Paul were exceptionally generous. Ann & Paul were very friendly & helpful. We would certainly stay again
The setting and the Granary are both excellent for a holiday in the countryside! The bedroom windows all have lovely views. The kitchen and bathrooms are done up in very high quality. Highly recommended!
I enjoyed my stay in this immaculate, well equipped apartment with panoramic, floor to ceiling views of the river, boats and beach. The entrance is on a busy road but the flat itself is very peaceful and an ideal base for exploring and beach-walking.
we enjoied every minute of our stay. had nice walks in the woods next to the potting shed. thank you diana and nigel for makeing our stay so perfect.
Brilliant cottage with brilliant views of the South downs.Pub within 1 minute, shop within 2 minutes with great walking in all directions directly from the cottage.Hosts Peter and Carol were friendly, helpful and welcoming. ...... would definitely recommend.
Great place to stay right in the centre of Rye with everything in walking distance. So comfortable too!
We loved the house and thought it worked perfectly for small children. We were all very happy with our stay and would definitely book again. Many thanks
We celebrated my husband’s 40th birthday with an adult only relaxing weekend at the Sun House. Us and the other couples enjoyed every minute there. The house is amazing with all its unique and spacious rooms, the kitchen and sitting rooms are equipped like a “real” home so we whipped up some amazing meals. The standard of this house is just superbe! We got lucky and had amazing weather for our hikes too but also got the most out of the beautiful yard, the hot tub and the fire pit. We had breakfast in the little summer house twice. We also loved our chef experience (recommended by the ...more
The Old Village Shop manages to be both beautifully secluded (hidden from public view in the grounds of the owners property) and yet a wonderful base to see the roaming donkeys, ponies and cows of the New Forest. The chalet style design gives a spacious and well appointed accommodation, the property was clean and all fixtures and fittings were in good order. The decking and garden area is secluded and private and the perfect place for having an evening bbq as it is a sun trap in the evenings. The owners are the perfect balance of attentive without being too obtrusive, welcoming and supporti...more
Could not find any fault. Very spacious and well laid out for two. Perfect in every way and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
There are still some places in West Sussex where you can get away from all the 'hustle and bustle' and relax in the peace and quiet of rural Sussex, School House Studio is one of them ! We spent eight nights in the Studio and barely travelled more than a few miles from Rackam because the countryside and Downs are so beautiful there, with walks on the Downs, across Amberley Wild Brooks, in Rackham Woods, through Parham Park and of course to The Sportsman Inn which is only one mile away. The hosts Geoff and Pauline are lovely and couldn't do enough for us if we needed anything. The Studio is spo...more
My wife and I rented this exceptional property for 6 nights in October 2021. On arrival we found the property to be clean and easy to operate. The kitchen area was well-equipped with modern appliances. There was everything necessary to store our food and to prepare full meals. The open plan living area was comfortably furnished. There was supplementary lighting which meant it was easy to read after dark. Wi-Fi was rather weak but sufficient for our needs. The bed provided for a very relaxing sleep - the property is in a very quiet area so there was no noise from beyond the property to d...more
The Cow Hide is in an excellent location overlooking fields where cows graze and hawks soar. Arundel castle is visible on the horizon. The owner provides a warm welcome and the cottage is full of her personal touches. A delicious varied breakfast is provided. A lovely base for exploring the area.
The little house is perfect for a quiet get away for two. It’s immaculate inside and set in a beautiful garden, with a charming private seating area to relax and enjoy the peace. But it’s not all about looks, the furnishings & bed were comfortable too, and the house provided everything required for a mini-break.
A beautiful house in a beautiful location. Very well equipped. The playroom was amazing and a big hit with the grandchildren. We all enjoyed the badminton and boules. An ideal house for a family get together with Arundel Castle and the river as a back drop. We had a very special weekend. Thank you.
We had a lovely stay at the beautiful Hardings Barn, set in wonderful grounds. It really was home from home, it had everything you could possibly think off and the attention to detail was superb and everything was immaculately clean. The Barn terrace was a great sun trap (which we was very fortunate to experience)that overlooked the beautiful gardens. It is in an excellent location, a few minutes by car to Chichester and a 10 minute drive to selsey and many other good places all in easy reach. We had a wonderful warm welcome from Jackie who was so helpful and obliging throughout and really di...more
Beaufort Barn was perfect for my wife and my son and his young family. The configuration of the space gave us both privacy and a communal area, including the very large lawn, that was comfortable and safe for little ones. Though blessedly quiet, Beaufort is wonderfully located for walks, up the adjacent wooded bridle path to the South Downs Way. Arundel, with its Cathedral, castle, gardens, lake and park and river walks is close, and Chichester is a short drive away. The produce at nearby Charlie’s farm shop was superb And we ate well in Pubs in Houghton at the Bridge and In the lovely garden a...more
We very much enjoyed our stay in this well-appointed holiday house. It's in an excellent location just 5 minutes walk from the sea. We really appreciated the welcome pack on arrival and all the useful equipment that was provided in the kitchen and for the garden & barbecue. The garden is a real bonus - beautifully kept with a large lawn and a judicious selection of shrubs. Thank you.
Excellent house in lovely area of the world , would recommend 100% to anybody , facilities amazing & even the children enjoyed the daily visit from a local cat
Great stay at the White House with 3 generations of our family. The hosts were very helpful and available if needed, but gave us the right level of privacy and went above and beyond in providing parking for 4 cars (not planned). It's an old property on many levels, so stairs weren't perfect with a 3 year old who tends to be awake first every morning, but no major issues. Great having 2 bathrooms and the large garden for said 3 year old to let off steam. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.
Foxwood Cottage was absolutely beautiful, very comfortable and ideally located. The owners were welcoming and so were the cats. It was an excellent place to relax, inside or outside, after a busy weekend at Goodwood Revival. Just one criticism: a second WC would have been useful, particularly when we were both getting ready for the event. On the whole, a fabulous stay and we would thoroughly recommend Foxwood Cottage.
We required a week long stay during a long break away from our home whilst building work was carried out. The building work is taking four months but it is very difficult to find accomodation for that length of time, the Old Workshop gave us the infill we required and we will be back again at the end of August. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the property is very comfortable and well maintained being situated in the beautiful village of West Chiltington it is ideally located to visit the lovely county of West Sussex.
We stayed here for a few weeks between houses during a house move. The house has everything you need for a short stay and is really comfortable. Parking outside is very convenient and the location is great being close to the village. Our kids really enjoyed the nice big garden. Kitchen is well kitted out for a short stay.
The Waves is a very comfortable clean spacious house, with everything you need for a great stay. Easy access to beach and shops.
We loved almost everything about our Christmas stay at this beautiful lodge. It was the cleanest we think we have ever stayed in, there are some beautiful touches that make you feel very comfortable and we would highly recommend. (These two very small things should be known to future bookers - consider carefully if you need reliable WiFi (we had to reboot the router regularly and couldn’t get WiFi downstairs in the bedrooms) and be aware that the owner is overlooking you (mainly in the main bedroom and the lounge) as the property is attached to the main house through quite a thin connecting do...more
I love staying at the Old Surgery. This is my second visit. The hosts are extremely welcoming and friendly and the situation of the cottage, right in the heart of Ditchling is perfect. There are two gorgeous cafes just 2 mins walk from the front door....morning coffees and pastries is a must! There are great pubs within walking distance as well; both make excellent food. The cottage has a cosy and upmarket feel with a large comfortable sofa and a fabulous kitchen with everything you need. It has one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in; reason enough on its own for a return visit ...more
Dairy Byre is a beautiful barn conversion on a working farm in the quiet countryside. The owners are really helpful and don't intrude - but they do leave lovely lemon cake for you! The cottage is warm and cosy and has everything you could possibly need. It is a real home for home and the beds are comfy. It is well equipped and clean, parking is good and there are some nice pub/restaurants close by. The local shop is good for everyday items and there are supermarkets within a short drive. Plenty of tourist places to visit in the area. Everything was as advertised and there was nothing more we c...more
Very well equipped kitchen. Spacious and comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. Large lawned garden with plenty of space for children to play. Felt private and secure. Suitable for one or two families as one bedroom and bathrooms suite is completely separate to the others. So much to see and do in the vicinity. We could not have asked for more. Best of British!
We had a very comfortable stay in Ashby Cottage. The property was very located and very well equipped. The layout suited our family. Thank you for the welcome gifts
Oak Grove was a very nice, comfortable base for our week spent exploring the South Downs area. The house was clean, comfortable, well-presented and well-equipped. Fernhurst village has a post office that also stocks basic groceries, and a greengrocer selling local produce (but there is now no newsagent). Good food and beer at local pub: The Red Lion. We did some walks from the village -- one to Blackdown -- based on routes in a locally produced guide in the information pack in the house. We also walked a couple of sections of the Wey & Arun Canal path at Loxwood. And had a day out in the Chich...more
As above eveyrthing was good, we enjoyed our stay and plan to return Petworth is a lovely town lots to see and do.
Good position for access to Chichester and nearby beeches with the bonus of parking for 2 cars. House is well equipped with all you need
We enjoyed a week's stay at this excellent accommodation. It was very clean, well equipped and comfortable in a good location for exploring Hampshire. Paula was an excellent hostess and her home made flapjacks on our arrival were a welcome treat! We highly recommend Mallards.
This is a super base for visiting the many gardens and NT properties in the area, for walks on the Downs and the High Weald, and for days out in Brighton. The host are very welcoming and the property's own garden is a delight.
Library Cottage was every thing we had anticipated and more. Lovely and comfortable , clean , our garden was beautiful as were the owners garden. Which we were encouraged to walk in when we had asked. The cottage had every thing we needed. It was in a nice quiet area. Just the odd plane over head now and again. Lovely to watch the different birds and listen to them. The surrounding country side was beautiful. We managed a couple of local walks from the cottage. The weather was very kind to us and we had a really nice holiday. The owners Chris and Liz Williams, who were near by were frien...more
We were a party of 8 - 4 adults and 4 children so had plenty of room. The house has real character with the themed rooms and furniture and has amazing views. Close proximity to a small town, as well as being within half an hour drive of bognor, littlehampton and worthing. Michelle was great in helping and answering all our queries. We had an absolutely wonderful stay here and would return in a heartbeat.
Honeysuckle cottage is beautifully appointed and in excellent condition. It was extremely comfortable and ideally located. It has lovely views from the windows and the terrace and both the town centre and the countryside as well as Petworth House and Park are within a few minutes' walk so no need for the car.
Spotless apartment within easy reach of the beach, pier, independent shops and restaurants. A perfect location!
We have just returned from a week spent in this truly unique cottage. It is beautifully decorated with great attention to detail and it is spotlessly clean. The cottage is very well equipped and it very soon became home from home. Despite the weather we managed to visit many interesting places in the area and particularly liked Rye Harbour. Our hosts, Leo and Kate, were very helpful and I would highly recommend this property.
Our stay at Apple Loft was very comfortable and was ideally situated for Goodwood and exploring the South Downs. Tina and Paul made us very welcome and we look forward to our next visit.
We had a lovely week, the cottage was lovely, the kitchen well fitted and the welcome pack very well received. Hilary was very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday
On arriving I was shocked, I knew the house would be beautiful but it was far beyond my expectations! We had fabulous weather so spent alot of time in the charming pool. The gardens are gorgeous with speaking hills for miles and the house interia is full of amazing art. The perfect house for a large group with lovely kitchen and lots of compfy nooks to relax in. Could not have enjoyed our stay more, would love to come back! X
Loved the accommodation and location. Would recommend and definitely come back again and visit. Thank you
Excellent location on the main street in Rye. Cheap parking close at hand and a drop-off/loading point almost outside the front door. Well equipped with good quality furnishings. Shower and stairs not easy for older people or those with mobility problems.
Very comfortable cottage with wonderful views in a beautiful village. Fantastic for dogs with an enclosed garden and the South Downs Way on the doorstep. Also very near the coast with great walks at Cuckmere Haven and Birling Gap and also near lovely towns such as Lewis and Eastbourne. Really tasty Sunday roast at the local pub. Who could ask for more!?
The property is very clean, well equipped and provides a comfortable base for a holiday in East Sussex. It is well positioned for exploring the coastline and the South Downs. Lesley and Paul are very friendly and helpful, they are next door so able to assist in any way required but are not intrusive and let you get on with your holiday as you wish. We really enjoyed our time at Lambles.
Candle Cottage is a beautiful cottage in very picturesque, quiet and rural village. It has lovely views over to Arundel Castle and fabulous walks from the front door. The pub in the village serves excellent meals which are a cut above standard pub grub. The owner is excellent at communicating and answering messages. The cottage is spotlessly cleaned the open plan style is lovely. The bench style dinning area can be a little awkward to get in and out. The outside space get sun almost all day and there is a good sized BBQ. Some cushions for the outside seating would definitely be beneficial...more
Little Lock Cottage was a perfect little bolthole for our autumn walking break. A well-equipped kitchen and comfortable sitting room and bedroom - and the private patio was a delight. The location is properly rural, and close to the wonderful re-wilded Knepp Estate, just what we wanted. The owners Ann & Lawrence are next door and kindly provided extra local maps for us to use. We would definitely come back!
We have already booked for another break. The setting for the Lake House is beautiful, the landscaped and well kept gardens, the lake and the swimming pool area are all tasteful and tranqui. The apartment is also tastefully decorated and furnished with comfortable stylish furniture. It is well equipped, spotlessly clean with everything you need for everyday living. The Juliette balcony is fantastic, you can sit and watch the black swans on the lake and listen to all the birds without any real sound of any other civilisation. It was an oasis in this hectic world.
We had a really relaxing and fun time at the cottage and cannot wait to return. The host is incredibly helpful and informative on the local area. The garden is simply amazing and the cottage is spotless and spacious and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. We found all the beds really comfortable. The welcome pack of local provisions is very generous and delicious. It's a wonderful bonus to have a playroom for the children to use. Lewes, the nearest town, is delightful, we recommend visiting the Flint Owl Bakery's charming courtyard outdoor space.
We stayed 7 nights and absolutely loved this cottage! It's well-sized, well-equipped and the hosts who live next door are very friendly and helpful. There are several excellent walks from this cottage, going on public pathways which are well signposted. The location is peaceful, the fields surrounding the area are full of grazing sheep and horses, you can reach the Arlington Reservoir by foot, as well as the Long Man of Wilmington. For the trips to the beach there's a range of options - Seven Sisters Cliffs, Seaford beach, Birling Gap are all within a short drive. We loved our stay and would h...more
A lovely traditional cottage. The location is great to explore West Sussex. There is a nice pub within walking distance and walking trails on the door step. We enjoyed cooking on the AGA, which was a first experience! The only negatives were the late check-in (5pm) and very early checkout (9.30am), which are rather unusual.
Secluded parking. Warm welcome & perfect quiet location 2 mins walk from high street of Henfield. Garden seating. Cosy interior with all facilities and accoutrements needed. Pantry and fridge well stocked with delicious unexpected home made extras - bread, preserves, biscuits, etc. Lots of guides and maps to explore this scenic, historic and fascinating county of Sussex. Plenty to see and do and some lovely cafes and pubs.
Our second stay at Tail End Cottage and more enjoyable than the first. Excellent location in the centre of Rye with everything close at hand. So many well thought out touches in the cottage itself and excellent communication from Dill.
Spent an enjoyable 9nights in Church cottage, Worthing. The house and location thoroughly suited our needs, visiting family in the area. The house was clean, comfortable (especially the beds) and had an added bonus of a small outside area to spend time. Parking in the street, although permits available (honesty box) was very hit and miss - many times we had to leave our car outside our family's house 12 minute walk away. This did not deter from our stay, everything was within walking distance, shops, park, Worthing centre and beach. Friendly neighbours as well. We would definitely stay again.
This was an ideal property for two people wanting to stay in typical Sussex countryside. Although access was rather awkward, there was adequate parking and the views from the farm were beautiful. The cottage itself was well equipped and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The courtyard where the three hire properties are is well maintained with pretty gardens and ample outdoor seating. The walk to the nearest pub in West Chiltington was longer and more complicated than the description on the Amberley website which was a bit disappointing. The cottage was very clean , and every prec...more
We had a really lovely holiday staying at the Old Orchard. The accommodation was excellent——- very clean and well maintained, and was equipped with everything that we needed to make our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. The property is very well situated, and is near to the village shop and tearoom, local pottery, and three very good pubs, as well as giving easy access to the South Downs Way and other footpaths. There is also a station within walking distance, with trains to Chichester, and seaside towns. I’d have no hesitation in recommending this property, particularly for people who enjo...more
This is the second time this year our family have stayed at Spring Harbour, and we hope to return next year. We were grandparents visiting with our adult daughter, husband and 2 young boys. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need, including a spacious fridge-freezer, and the beds are a dream! We loved the garden, and watching swifts and swallows sweep over the adjacent hay meadow. If you're visiting with young children, Hever Castle (falconry display), Sheffield Park and Wilderness Woods (don't miss them!) are all about 30 mins drive away, and perfect for days out. 3 of us with one joining for the final night stayed in this neat, clean cottage with a vey well equipped kitchen (cooked a Sunday roast with no problems! When there were 4 adults, it felt crowded. Having one bathroom and no other toilet was annoying. The cottage is close to the road so traffic noise is an issue- the road is well used and parking was an issue at the weekend as the pub down the road’s customers parked in the very limited spaces surrounding the house. Food at shepherd and dog (local pub) is not that great overcooked not quite sure how it gets it’s reputation. Travelling aroun...more
Fantastic holiday home, very large space with everything you need for a fab self catering holiday. All areas were exceptionally clean and well presented. The owner is very helpful and a lovely person, full of helpful local ideas. Lots of great places to eat nearby. There is a lovely sun deck which leads off the large bedroom.
Excellent stay, nothing too much trouble for the owner Pip, gorgeous freshly prepared meal on the last evening from Pip’s Supper Club. Would highly recommend the accommodation and the optional menu.
Great location, lovely cottage, friendly and helpful family, lots of amazing walks. We loved staying at the cottage and we very much enjoyed our stay. Our break was short but very sweet.
We needed somewhere to get away from it all and were not disappointed. The setting is fascinating: an historic settlement on the edge of a forest. The accommodation is cosy and well equipped. The opportunities for walking and cycling are vast.
Very pleasant stay in a lovely location. Property was very clean and well equipped. The rooms are large and spacious so plenty of space. There is only one bathroom although there is a downstairs toilet with a sink. This could be an issue for larger groups. House itself is rather tired and in need of some loving care. However nothing spoilt our stay.
Regency House was everything we had anticipated with spacious rooms, high ceilings, interesting pictures and furnished in a sympathetic style. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. parkin, even for three cars, was not a problem and there was plenty to do in Arundel and the surrounding area.
We enjoyed a lovely week at Paines Oast. The cottage was extremely clean, comfortable and very well heated with plenty of hot water. A lot of detail has gone into servicing the cottage and even a mending kit.notepaper and pens etc. Were provided. The cottage is near an excellent village shop and pub with very good food and is also on a bus route providing an hourly bus service to Uckfield and Eastbourne. As we were without a car these facilities were very useful. We did feel though that the cottage is better suited to two persons rather than four. A toaster would be a help as it would avoid ...more
The cottage was very nice and clean. It is located on a farm and the approach from the road is close to a mile. Every time you enter and exit you have to open the farm gate by the use of an electric button, which is very slow. The bed is a bit soft for our liking however was in good condition. There is ample parking on site but you have to park some way away from the cottage so if you have difficulty walking this may be an issue. At night, especially in the shorter days it is very dark, so if you were to arrive back after dark it is essential you have a torch with you. There is one supplied in...more

We absolutely loved Bell Meadow. A family of four and grandmother. Although it wasn’t amazing weather we loved the pool and used it at least once a day… two or three times on some days. The wood behind the house is magical. We loved the football area and being able to see the horses next door from the big picture window in the kitchen. The house was immaculate and had lots of helpful local guide books. It had lots of children’s games too - all in good condition. Really wonderful. The kitchen was well equipped and we loved sitting out having supper on the patio. It really helped having a good...more
My husband and I were very happy with our stay at Calceto. Our hosts were friendly and helpful and recommended some good local restaurants and pubs. The apartment was very comfortable, clean, quiet and well-equipped. It is also conveniently located, a short walk from Arundel station and just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Arundel, which made it easy for us to explore the town. There are also some nice walks close by along the River Arun.
Wonderful cottage that sleeps 10 comfortably with lots of space inside and out for a family occasion.
Whitefriars was a perfect location and very well equipped for a family stay.It was great to have the garden too, which was enjoyed by the younger members of the party The kitchen had almost everything we needed just one or 2 things extra would have been useful!. We appreciated the bottle of wine on our arrival. The only thing which we found a very slight problem was that the large bins for rubbish outsie the house were full on our arrival and one had been removed by the occupants of No 1 for their use ! We found the agents helpful and efficient.
We had a lovely stay in the centre of Arundel with views out over the town and the Cathedral. Jasmine cottage was very well equipped and Arundel has some nice restaurants. The cottage is well positioned for trips to the coast, Chichester, Goodwood, Brighton and of course the Castle. There is also a lovely nature reserve just outside of the town.
Lovely stay in Findon village lots of amenities in area. Two doors down a lovely cafe. The cottage is big enough for four adults and has a well thought out design. Nice private courtyard garden. We had a lovely surprise of bread, crossiants, fruit and milk left for breakfast. Would stay again.
Just as described - a well furnished, clean and very comfortable house for our stay in this beautiful town. An easy and quick walk into Rye where there are plenty of places to eat (you need to book) and drink, as well as a good supermarket. The only slight negative is the small parking space if, like us, you have a large car, as it can be tricky not to block in the neighbour, however they were also really nice and told us to park at an angle - problem solved. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the property.
Seaview is within seconds walk of the beach ideal for our toddler grandson! Well situated for a variety of things to do! Clean, well equipped and welcoming we are happy to recommend !
The Granary is ideally situated to explore Sussex. There are some lovely National Trust properties within a short distance and the coast is a short drive away.
Despite the Covid restrictions we were able to enjoy our stay; the only downside was intermittent wifi connection which would frustrate anyone who needed to maintain reliable business meeting contact whilst on vacation.
Well we couldn't have done much better for the weather, which made for a fabulous week. The cottage was excellent, perfect for us and our dog Alfie. There is a fantastic field/grassed area at the front of the cottage and Alfie really enjoyed running around there. The location was also excellent to visit places in the area - Chichester, Petworth and the beautiful South Downs. We would definitely recommend both the cottage and the hosts.
Excellent accommodation well furnished, good location, comfortable and secure. Really caring and attentive host.
We enjoyed our stay at Tarante. It is a comfortable and spacious flat with easy parking. Well placed for enjoying Arundel, and all the town offers. The owner was very helpful and considerate. We make regular family visits to this part is sussex and will be very happy to return to Tarante again.
Walnut tree cottage is a comfortable holiday home in a peaceful location. Was our second visit and hopefully not the last.
Lovely location in a beautiful village. Very comfortable studio with everything you need. Owners helpful.
A nice spot in Ashdown forest, close to the village centre, local amenities and pub. Clean premises, surrounding garden, terrace, babbling brook Perfect for those”TECHS” amongst us
Loved every minute of our stay from start to finish! Steve (host) was friendly and very helpful. Chilling by the pool and in it was just paradise. Great location, lovely facilities and even alpackers in the garden!! Will Definitely return!!
We enjoyed our stay at Bell Cottage. Alfriston is a really lovely village with plenty of walks on the doorstep. The cottage is very well equipped with the useful addition of local maps and guide books. The supply of bread, butter, biscuits, jam and wine were indeed very welcoming. The free car park is just across the road and it was no problem to park there whilst unloading and we found ample on road parking not too far away in The Furlong which runs adjacent to the primary school. The broadband was fast and the tv has Amazon Prime available. Overall Bell Cottage is a great place in a s...more
We had a very nice stay at Groom's cottage. It was convenient for shops and the town of Arundel. We found the country walks nearby very invigorating especially during the pandemic. The owner was very friendly and obliging to the needs of her guests. I would highly recommend it.
Marine house was just fabulous, beautiful big house that was so well equipped. It’s so spacious, we were 8 adults and we were all very comfortable and will be returning again. Contacted the owner about times etc and their response was instant, would highly recommend a stay at this gorgeous place
We arrived late afternoon, maybe a little early to find everything cleaned and ready for us. We settled in for our first night familiarising ourselves with the residence, facilities and it's equipment. There was a full information pack with manufacturers instructions plus the owners own advice on how everything worked, not forgetting the welcome cakes which were enjoyed with our coffees. The following days were spent touring West Sussex, the local village/town of Storrington and Parham House and Gardens which is only five minutes down the road. Another treat was watching the Gliders taking of...more
A relaxing, peaceful, very well equipped property, with lots of outside space and surrounded by an abundance of wild life.
beautiful, well equipped, comfortable property, in such a quiet location, perfect for walking and de stressing
A few things would have our stay easier, ie tin opener that worked, a toilet brush, a better shower system.
Owner was very helpful. A nice cottage with some extra touches that were appreciated. DVD didn't seem to be working properly. Plug in bathroom sink does not operate very well.
We enjoyed our stay in Causeway Cottage . It has tons of character and quite quirky , watch out for some low beams ! There was plenty of space , comfortable bed and we mastered the Aga which warmed the kitchen beautifully . The cottage was in an excellent position right on the High Street and although we couldn't park right outside we always managed to park nearby.
A very eagerly awaited post lockdown holiday - smugglers keep did not disappoint in any way. The owner made us feel very welcome and provided a safe and comfortable environment. Very clean, cosy and well equipped - everything we needed. The weather co-operated and we enjoyed al fresco breakfasts each morning, ever changing distant sea views and a family of rabbits in the adjacent field. Will definitely stay again and recommend it whole heartedly. Thank you for the milk and coffee sachets on arrival.
My wife and I have just returned from River Cottage after a very pleasant stay in this well presented self catering cottage. Sadly for us we were not able to enjoy the river walks and views of the downs because access was via a stile which we were not able to manage. This was a huge disappointment to us because it was something which we been anticipating keenly. Both in our late ( very !! ) seventies it would have been stupid to try to climb over. Henfield is a pleasant town with a "country" feel to it and we enjoyed the surrounding countryside. The cottage was well equipped but could ...more
The stunning location of this cottage is a visual strength but a practical weakness. The terraced upward sloping garden is impractical and unwelcoming despite the efforts of the owners - which is a shame. The conversion itself is of the high quality with excellent facilities and the owners’ response to requests for information and assistance were second to none. The upstairs master bedroom was an absolute delight. The kitchen is well laid out and the lounge area was comfortable and welcoming. Thank you Alex for the thought that has gone into this. The garden limitations and also the need...more
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Beth had anticipated all our needs and more. The 'goodies' awaiting us were much appreciated, the shortbread biscuits especially so by David!
We loved the decor and the cosiness of the cottage which is also surprisingly large with 3 really good sized bedrooms and fantastic space downstairs including a good sized garden which our spaniel loved. Extremely well equipped and couldn’t be a better location for us as it is close to so many walks and some beautiful places to visit not far afield. Also, there are two pubs in the village which is a bonus! A holiday to remember; we will definitely be back…..
This cosy cottage was perfect for a short stay and Sally was a friendly host. It was really well appointed, spotlessly clean and the enclosed garden was perfect for the dog. The location was close to everything and we enjoyed exploring Pagham nature reserve, West Wittering and the walk between Chichester Marina and Dell Quay.
Our stay was so great and chilled with the accommodation very good and local food easy accessible by way of a short walk or a quick drive. Would highly recommend
Cottage provided all we needed as a great base for our visit to Rye and East Sussex. A bit of an uphill walk to get into town but very convenient for town and lots of good restaurants. Cottage was ideal for two but think for four it would seem a bit cramped. It was pleasantly decorated and furnished in clean, modern style . The little outside patio was another plus. Thoughtful welcome pack was also appreciated.
General comments Interior photos are misleading, giving an appearance of being much bigger than the actual size. Garden extremely overgrown, scruffy and unkempt. Internet very very slow. One bedroom very dark due to trees overhanging, almost on to the window. Shower control so stiff, needed man’s strength to turn it on and off. Fan required in bathroom, wallpaper peeling off walls and ceiling. No views from ground floor. The only view is from one of the bedrooms. So disappointing when the hedge could be cut back to a much lower level. Pathway at back of the cottage very uneven and ...more
Location was perfect for our needs, mainly a choice of 6 national trust facilities and a RSPB reserve within a short drive under 30 mins. Host Emma was perfect in allowing us to get on with our stay without any interference and generally was very helpful. Could have done with a local pub but there were plenty of choices within a short drive
40th celebration. Lovely house and amazing garden. Definitely recommend! Perfect for a celebration with friends.
Lovely cottage in great location. Perhaps needed some empty cupboard space for food storage...lot of crockery etc in cupboards not required.
We had an enjoyable holiday partly due to the accommodation which was first class and very comfortable. Located close to the seafront it was ideal for spending time on the beach. Highly recommendable.
Excellent spacious house for a family holiday - separate lounge was perfect for the children to have their own space. Very comfortable with so much kitchen equipment. Our only concern would be beware the drop to the lower garden level from the sunbed area if you have toddlers.
Great location as it took 10 minutes to walk to the centre of Arundel. Despite being located on a busy road we never struggled to find a parking space. The property is very spacious was impressed with the full size fridge/freezer. howecer some of the decor needs some attention to detail considering the cost of property would have expected a better standard
This is the second time we have used this cottage. As previously, the owners have been very friendly and helpful. The cottage the is the ideal place to come for a quiet relaxing break. There are plenty of places of interest to visit in the vicinity. All in all we highly recommend this cottage.
We were given a very warm welcome from the owners of this lovely clean and cosy cottage. There are so many walks and places to visit that our only regret was not to be staying longer..
My partner and I had a pleasant three nights stay here. It's a two bedroom cottage attached to the side of a large house, where the helpful owner lives. All spotlessly clean - especially important in these challenging times. In pretty good condition generally - lovely sitting room and light bedrooms. Good TV with Netflix etc. Kitchen and bathroom ok, if a tad outdated - the water flow is a bit iffy when you're showering. There are a couple of other cottages nearby and a busy road but we weren't disturbed by noise. Apparently we were staying on a particularly expensive weekend and it seemed h...more
We had a relaxing week at the barn which is in a beautiful, peaceful location. It was lovely to have a vase of freshly picked flowers and a homemade lemon cake with milk in the fridge on arrival. Very comfortable accommodation and helpful friendly owner who gave us a super interesting tour of the gardens.
We enjoyed our stay and particularly the conservatory leading.into the charming garden.howeverwe did find the vry steep stairs difficult at our age 85snd,77....it wouldn't necessarily deter us from staying again
Enjoyed our week at the cottage. Loved the beams. Everywhere clean and well equipped. The Aga temperature wasn’t very high and took time to work out the other cooking devise. Quite disappointing bearing in mind the quality of the rest of the cottage. Great location to get out and about and such a pretty village.
An idyllic and beautiful location on the outskirts of Arundel. Amberley house offered everything we needed to keep the adults and the kids happy, including DVDs, puzzles, books and outdoor games. We're not walkers but we took a little mini stroll along the river and back again over the small river tributary (over a wooden plank). The rooms were well sized for our needs and although only one bathroom and no separate toilet, it served our purpose well. A few things in the kitchen could be updated e.g. pots and pans but there were plenty of glasses, plates, cups and cutlery. The only slight w...more
Everything was as expected and just right for a stay in this part of the world. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The garden was lovely and we enjoyed sitting outside for breakfast. The location was excellent as we had two good pubs within walking distance and the seaside within 15 minutes drive.
Very happy overall, but still can’t understand why I couldn’t take 2 dogs?? Cannot see what difference it would make!!
Really lovely stay - perfect annexe which was well set out, perfect hosts close enough for any queries but not intrusive, couldn’t fault it!
The house was lovely with plenty of room for everyone. Parking excellent. Kitchen was spacious and well equipped. View of the beach was wonderful and due to the time of year (October) was very quiet. Lounge was spacious with plenty of comfortable seating. Dining area good, again plenty of seating. Bedrooms were comfortable if a little cosy but as they were in the railway carriages this was to be expected. Plenty of hot water and the weather great. On the down side we all felt the attention to cleanliness was lacking. The white window surrounds in most rooms were grubby, the patio ...more
An enjoyable and relaxing stay with Castle, Wetland Centre, cafes and restaurants within a comfortable walk of the cottage.
The Clearing is a pleasant place to stay in the South Downs, very clean, good storage and shower. We would advise anyone going to stay maybe to take their own duvet as it's a 13.5 tog even in summer and with veluex windows just too hot. I did ask if duvet could be changed for a lighter one but he didn't have one!!!! Also things like tin opener and cutlery need replacing. Also outside pictures on line out of date as there is no seating at the front or back decking of the property.
Amazing location with lovely gardens and good facilities. We had some minor issues which were resolved very promptly by the owners and their facilites manager.
Slatey Barn was a stunning house and just perfect for us all attending Goodwood Revival! I just wish we could have stayed longer. Only thing I can comment on is nobody can find the house as no signage so please make sure you have proper instructions prior to arrival.
The house is very comfortable and fully equipped, but unfortunately was very dirty when we arrived and wasn't rectified during our stay. Fantastic location for great beaches, walking and visiting local villages like Alfriston.
A lovely spacious house well equipped and comfortable throughout. Only a minute from the seafront, in the quieter side of town which was great for walking the dogs. Friendly neighbours.
A beautiful flat with tasteful decor and furnishings. The galley kitchen attached to the sitting room is well equipped . The flat has a good location close to the old town with it's specialist shops, pubs, bars and restaurants and just a short walk to the sea front. Contactless check-in worked well.
Perfect cottage in excellent location. Handy for both Arundel town and for the hills, via Arundel Park.
This accommodation is lovely, in a very quiet rural location. It is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. Perfect place for a get away to not be disturbed
Stunning views and daily visits to our bedroom door by hundreds of goats. Young and old our party was full of gratitude for the experience.
Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Loquat Cottage. We found the property comfortable, clean and very nicely situated. It was lovely and quiet and we enjoyed the small seated area on sunny mornings with a coffee. I'd recommend this terraced house and I have earmarked a return journey !!
Rayburn complications could be avoided if there was an alternative hob as well as an oven. There were warnings which didn't worry us as we have always lived in period houses, but the low doors and ceilings and trappy stairs are the worst we have come across. Road noise dominates so double glazing would make sense. Quite a few bulbs had gone and there were no wheelie bin liners so just a few missing details. Having said that, location for South Downs walks from property is great and the open fire made it.
We enjoyed our stay in this very nice apartment in this great location. We had lovely walks and found many good dog friendly places toeat.
He said it was arelly good house as it was right next to the beach there was a busstop right outside and it was close to a level crossing for watching the steam trains. I agree. It was a really nice house on a sand dune away from a lovely sandy beach.
A lovely peaceful cottage. Enjoyed the painting class from the owner, lovely countyside. Lots of dog walks. Went to the beach not too far away. Clean, tidy and relaxing.
Beautiful cottage in wonderful countryside. Fantastic walks locally and lots of great places to visit. Recommend the cheese tours at High Weald dairy. We walked to the Red Lion at Chelwood Gate for lunch and the food was really good. Ordnance Survey app great for routes. Cottage was clean and well equipped and beds very comfy. Owners kindly left some provisions. They are in the farmhouse B&B next door if needed but left us to ourselves. The low beams upstairs are really low - a 5fter had to duck but enjoyed feeling tall!
We had a lovely stay at Lavender Cottage. The cottage is well restored and is full of character, but has all the up to date facilities. We enjoyed all the space downstairs with the garden and the location is really nice for exploring Alfriston and its surroundings. There is no parking at the cottage, but we always found a place a bit further away; this maybe a problem for guests with poor mobility.
We stayed at 2 Ladymead Mews while our new house was being built. It is a fairly new property in a gated courtyard with all mod cons. It feels quite spacious and is nicely decorated throughout. Just along the road you will find a very pretty village with pubs, co-op, newsagent etc. There are various footpaths to explore nearby with beautiful views of the South Downs. I would definitely recommend this place to others. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.
We really enjoyed Middle House with its space, comfort and decor. Wine and biscuits were nice touch. Part of an old pub. There was plenty of room for the two of us as there would also be for 4. Steyning is a lovely old town with 3 good pubs, Fish and chip shop, Italian restaurant, cafe's and good shops. Its position at the foot of the downs and near the coast is ideal. We also hired the beach hut, which although the weather was not great for us, is worth doing. Lots of places nearby to visit.
The accommodation and the host's Alison & Ben were very welcoming, they provided some home baked bread, milk, a pack of chocolate cookies and fruit as a welcome pack. Situated in a beautiful area, the peace was occasionally interrupted by the steam train of the Bluebell line choo chooing up the rise to the rear of the house, a magical sound of yesteryear. Easily one of the best holiday breaks we have had in recent year's.
An enjoyable stay in a good property which had a comfortable lounge and sitting area. The kitchen and cooking facilities were very good and helped present us with the holiday we were expecting.
Rose Mullion is a lovely cosy cottage. Beautiful fireplaces and charming quaintness with a touch of modern throughout. Our dogs loved the large secure garden. We were provided with plenty of towels and bedding for our months stay. The kitchen is fully equipped, all you need is food although tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits were provided. Beds were softer than we are used to but comfy. Downstairs toilet very handy! Because of lockdown, neither pub was open in village so cannot comment there, but lots of walks from cottage. Books, games and a TV for those rainy days. We would definitely recom...more
One set back: the hot water in the shower is not working, but all the rest was absolutley fine. May be next Goodwood we will rent it one more time
We booked Little House as it was near our son's home, we live in Cornwall and our other children live in Essex and Hong Kong. We all wanted to be together for Christmas and so the location was ideal. It was spacious downstairs with two bedrooms and a bathroom all of a good size and a further ensuite bedroom upstairs (couldn't work the heating upstairs so it tended to be cold). The open plan kitchen and living room allowed a very sociable space. The games room is a great addition when you have a lot of people around and is equipped with a table tennis equipment and a few board games. Al...more
We had a very enjoyable week at Brewers Cottage. The place is restful and the accommodation is as described, comfortable and quiet. Wi-Fi is good. Kitchen is adequately equipped. Bedrooms are very clean and beds comfortable. Parking slot is ok once you have attempted it once or twice. Brian, across the road is friendly and helpful. All in all we had a great stay and we enjoyed our week. If anything the cottage needs some TLC to enhance the experience. The TV satellite system needs sorting out to receive local channels or convert to Smart TV. Main bedroom radiator needs bleeding, washing ma...more
just what we needed after not being able to go away for such a long time. The Print Shop was comfortable and had all facilities needed in a very compact package!
A lovely, cosy cottage situated on a small quiet estate, well situated for the beach. We loved the shutters on the windows. The kitchen was really well equipped. The outside patio area was great for sitting in with a cuppa in the mornings. Our only less positive comment pertains to the beds. The kingsize mattress was a bit lumpy and dipped to one side. The other double bed had two single mattresses which tended to slide in the night so there was always a dip in the middle..... only one occupant though so this might explain it. Otherwise a really lovely cottage, tastefully decorated throughout....more
The good things: very quiet and pretty location; lovely patio; comfortable bed; well equipped; most areas were clean Not so good: bathroom was damp & smelly; we were given the wrong key code; the lock was almost too stiff to use (used the back door); runner in hall was a trip hazard; there were lots of cobwebs and hair where the bed joined the wall;
We had a great stay and loved the house. It's full of character: the kitchen-diner a great place to sit and watch the sunset and the AGA was a nice touch. Big lounge with log fire. Huge garden. However, the bathroom needs changing and the smelly loo was inexcusable. A classy building and loveable architecture that with love and care would make a unique - and very English - 1930's retro retreat. Sorry to read that the owners are seeking permission to demolish but so glad we had the chance to experience it.
We really enjoyed our stay here - lots of space and it also has a warm homely atmosphere. The little garden was appreciated too and the fact that the cottage is only a short walk to the beach. Good sized kitchen with a 4 seat table, good sized lounge and useful hallway. Our boys are vey tall so we had a couple of bumped heads, but we knew it was a cottage when we booked it, so no surprises. The only thing I would improve would be the shower, which could do with being replaced by a good electric one. So we would recommend this place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our six-week stay at the cottage. It was very comfortable, cosy, and well stocked with good quality appliances and furnishings. The decor is after a style but made the cottage feel personal rather than sterile, even if it wasn't entirely to our taste. It was lovely to hear the regular passing of the nearby steam train along the Bluebell Railway. Whilst the cottage itself is quite compact, the extra room in the outdoor barn, and the lovely garden made it feel comfortable size-wise for our family of four. We enjoyed eating at the outdoor table, and playing table tennis in t...more
In a great location approx 20 minutes walk from Rye. Short drive to Camber Sands and Rye Harbour. Kitchen nice & big with lovely views, though some more seating would be good as we preferred to eat in here (not warm enough for the lovely outside area). Some windows throughout the house need maintenance/replacing due to being wooden & starting to rot. We also had an issue with the downstairs shower room being described as a wet room. It is not a wet room & this is probably not a major issue for most visitors but we had a wheelchair bound person in the group & we would not have booked this ho...more
Unfortunately because the back garden was so over grown you couldn’t sit outside. This made getting the dustbin out the back gate difficult
Basic apartment which act as a good base for West Sussex. Lounge area very small and in fact appears to be in a wide access corridor. You just need to be aware of this as the pictures show differently and the description does not reference it. It has good access to all things Littlehampton.
Location was amazing. Really enjoyed our stay and nice property overall. would definitely recommend. Downsides were:- Vacuum cleaner on-site would have been useful for carpeted areas. Blind in bathroom broken so had to use a towel to cover. Potholes on approach to property were awful.
Interior very cosy and all comforts supplied. Sadly the rather neglected exterior of the cottage and the garden needs maintenance. Traffic noise is intrusive, especially at night , but this could be improved with double glazing. We enjoyed our short stay.
Lovely quirky looking interior however we didn't sleep very well through the whole stay. First night we tried the steps up to mezimen bedroom but the noise from the fridge freezer which is so very close starting up all night was too much so we tried making up the sofa bed for the rest of the stay but that wasn't very comfy on one side so apart from lack of sleep we did enjoy the surroundings and the quiet privacy that The Well House has to offer.
Kitchen equipment, (pots, pans, crockery) needs updating and sorting, too many bits and pieces, Minor maintenance before a let. shower head came apart, toilet seat moved on the pan. Otherwise the accommodation and our stay was OK.
Cosy, comfortable little cottage in an excellent location for a dog friendly break.Very quiet and fantastic walks nearby
Firstly, you can’t beat this location; 10 minutes walk from the seafront, down a street lined with well-maintained and beautiful listed buildings. From that point of view, I would recommend staying, but the property does need some work doing. Overall it’s a comfortable place to stay, nice lounge, comfy beds, lots of towels and when you open the back door in the morning the scent of honeysuckle is amazing! The terraced garden is lovely, but the steps are steep and some are a bit loose, so you need to watch out. For anyone with young kids or for anyone who is unsteady on their feet, I wouldn’...more
I use a walker rather than a wheelchair and the other person has reduced strength but is ambulant. The postcode given on the booking details was to the Watersports’ complex. We were emailed the actual postcode and detailed directions on the arrival day. The accommodation is separate from the water sports area. The entry is via a locked gate with a keypad. This keypad is at shoulder height for someone standing up as is the key safe for the lodge. There is parking for 2 cars. The drive is topped by lose pebbles, so not easy to wheel through. There is a slight edge to get on to the wooden r...more
