Beautiful cottage to spend a few days visiting family. Very pleased to have found it and hope to visit again.
Beautiful straw house in a beautiful surrounding. Our dog loved it walks are amazing. Spent Christmas week here would highly recommended it. The owners are lovely very helpfully. It is a working farm and if you ask the owners you can look around the farm. Would love to visit. Again.
Fabulously furnished with great attention to detail and immaculately clean. The owners were great hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them.
We cannot recommend this place enough. Brilliant accomodation, thoughtful touches & friendly owner .
Warm welcome on arrival with fresh homemade cakes on the table in the kitchen. The owners and staff were very kind and helpful throughout my stay. Plenty to do and see and well located for visits out. I definitely want to go back it’s such a good place to be. Many thanks to Mandy persuading me to see the animals even though I had my dog with me, just loved it. Thank you everyone.
The cottage we stayed in was just as it was advertised, it was very well equiped, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The hosts were very attentive with just the right level of contact while we were staying there, the location is very good, just a few minuets from the shops and beaches, The cream tea on arrival is a very nice touch. If we travel in that area again we would definitely stay there again.
wonderful accommodation right next to the sea and a lovely pub with good food. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner who was very friendly and welcoming, will look to book up again asap
We rented the week before xmas, great surpise and welcoming for our two kids, xmas tree and decorations, the kids thought santa had come early with all the toys available in the house. Excellent location within 10mins to the town centre, co-op around the corner for a 2min walk for anything you need. The house was very well presented, fully kitted kitchen with all utensils supplied that you need, including for kids. The owners Alex and Kate left us be, but were easy to contact by phone for any questions and very helpful in welcoming us to their property with regards to questions etc prior to ou...more
The House is very clean and great equipped, except for a stove there is everything you need to feel comfortable. The Landlords are very nice. I highly recommend this property.
Everything at The Old Workshop was as described. We used it as a bolthole when helping our son to move house and it was a perfect haven of calm. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and provided some extra little touches that were much appreciated. Located in a pretty little village with a pub open walking distance. We would definitely use again.
Lovely barn, well equipped with great scenery. We had a great time and think it will be a great place to return to in winter. Everything was modern throughout and the layout has been carefully thought out. Only small things to note: soap dispenser in bathroom was empty, main shower doesn't drain well (had to remove drain cover to get the water to drain) and previous occupants, half used, left over food was in the cupboard.
The owner was very pleasant and helpful, we found the accommodation very comfortable and had everything we needed and also exceptionally clean. It is in a good location and there are plenty of Places of Interest nearby to visit.
Perfect accommodation in a perfect location. The accommodation was a perfect base for sightseeing in the area. We visited Battle Abbey,Herstmonceux Castle,Eastbourne,Bexhill and Middle Farm. The owner was very welcoming. The visitor's book was a testament to the accommodation and the owner with the numbers of people making returned visits.
We had a delightful 4-night stay at Daisy Byre. Very comfortable cottage, clean and modern, with everything you need for an enjoyable, relaxing break. We received a very warm welcome from the owners and were made to feel at home right from the start. Lovely hospitality by all, including the staff working on the adjacent farm. The complimentary passes to the farm were a bonus (as was a delightful evening in the theatre located on the farm watching a production of 'The Wind in the Willows'). A thoroughly enjoyable stay. The village of Wisborough Green and the surrounding West Sussex area has ...more
A lovely cottage which has been very well modernised. There's plenty of space and overall the cottage is very comfortable with a great view from the bedroom window. The cottage provided us with a perfect base from which to explore the South Downs, various gardens, and the spectacular coast. Its also near some great places to eat. The owners, Chris and Eileen, have made great efforts to ensure that guests enjoy their stay.
The Reading Rooms was very well equipped with excellent attention to cleanliness. The owners have respectfully kept the buildings charm with touches linking to it's past. A peaceful village location with a local shop. post office, a good cafe and two pubs. There are fantastic walks on the doorstep around Wisborough Green with other villages, towns within short driving distance for shopping and visits. We would certainly stay again and would not hesitate recommending to friends and family.
Clean, well appointed and comfortable with many thoughtful extras including basic groceries, ice, toiletries and an awesome tv with movies included. We had a lovely chilled out stay- many thanks to Ann the owner who was both friendly and entirely unobtrusive.
This is a lovely cottage. Much thought has gone into making a newish build look 300years old. Clever quirky bits inside and out, even in the brickwork. It showed the thoughtfulness of the owners even as they were renovating. There are mod cons where you want them in the kitchen and bathroom, but they were tastefully done to fit the building. Beds were very comfortable. Heather was very friendly and attentive to our needs even though Roger was very ill. The courtyard planting encouraged butterflies. There were wrens just outside the window, and a cleverly placed mirror meant I coul...more
Beautiful location and property. 20 minute walk through peaceful countryside to reach the Griffin pub..really good pint of Sussex ale. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and gave us some good pointers. We went to Burling Gap on their recommendation and as a family who aren’t keen on crowds, really enjoyed this part of the coast. My family and i found this property very relaxing to stay in and would definitely stay again.
Perfect place for our family of 5. wonderfully clean and with everything equipped that you could possibly need. Fresh flowers on the table. Wine in the fridge... lovely conversation with the owner. We are already planning our return. Thank you.
We had a wonderful stay at Pump House Lodge. The hosts delight in making you feel comfortable but are not at all invasive. Care is evident in every detail of the house. It's comfortable, tasteful and well equipped. For many renting out accommodation is about making money but these people truly delight in being hospitable. Thanks for everything.
Great little property that was not very little. Whilst only set up for two, with just the one bedroom, there was plenty of room for us and it felt almost spacious. Very tastefully fitted out with decent quality furniture and an excellent bed. Pippa was a delightful host and made us very welcome. Location good in a lovely part of the country. We had a great week.
We had a wonderful week at The Brambles. It's a lovely house with really comfortable beds, spacious rooms and a well equipped kitchen. A home from home. The owners are fantastic: friendly and helpful. Their dogs were a big hit with our girls, as were the squirrels and frogs in the garden! It's in an ideal location for visiting Chichester, Arundel, the coast and places like Brighton and Portsmouth. There's lots of special places to visit in the area. I'd definitely recommend staying at the Brambles.
We had an excellent fortnight in this quality property. We look forward to returning in the near future.
I enjoyed everything about Bay Tree Cottage: its sense of spaciousness and cosiness combined, light pouring in, luxurious bed, tranquil terrace, and excellent walks from the doorstep through Parham, or onto the downs, or into Storrington for all you need. A holiday home set up with real care and consideration.
Very nice cottage in very quiet hamlet with almost no traffic: ambient birdsong a splendid feature. Excellent facilities and particularly pleasant and spacious sitting /dining/kitchen area opening onto patio. Very helpful owners, supplies in fridge on arrival. Good walking from the cottage. Suited us (retired couple) very well.
Charlotte knew in advance, what was necessary to make the stay perfect. Every detail matches to the Ensemble. Great experience in a surrounding with so much to See - from Cowdray’s polo to Goodwood‘s races!
We wanted a quiet place to stay but with some amenities nearby. We hoped there would be interesting places to visit a little further away. The Old Surgery was perfect in that respect. It is situated at a crossroads in the centre of the village and is busy with traffic due to the narrow streets. Other than having to be careful crossing the road, we did not find this a problem. Certainly in the house and garden, we were not aware of it. There are plenty of country walks a few minutes from the house, in all directions. There are 2 pubs and 2 coffee shops very close to the property and we enjoyed ...more
We had a great stay here, excellent location and the accommodation was everything we needed and more. The owners were really nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Would recommend.
Little Willow was ideally situated for exploring Rye. It is convenient, comfortable and quiet. We hope to return sometime.
What a great find - the location and set up of the Stables worked just perfect for us! The property is very nicely done and very well equipped. The location was ideal for our needs. Vyvyan was available for any help or questions. Could not recommend it high enough.
Quiet country location yet only short walk to nearest hostelry. Equipped with every possible need. Very comfortable and most welcoming.ex
What a fantastic place so quite and peaceful. Carol and Peter where fantastic they gave us directions and ordinance map off the beating track. The little barn is beautiful and in a fantastic location. There are loads of walks and of course some great pubs. We went all over and a fantastic holiday. Looking forward to going back Ian and Maureen West Yorkshire. Thank you
We had a lovely time at Honeysuckle Cottage. Located in Petworth, just 5 minutes walk from the main town itself. It was a great location for touring this part of the beautiful South Downs National Park. Would not hesitate to recommend staying at the cottage, very clean and comfortable.
Very stylish house, great interior, design bathrooms, very clean and in a superb location right across the Arundel castle site.
Made to feel very welcome with an amazing welcome hamper! The accommodation is stunning in beautiful surroundings, we had a great stay!
A very well equiped apartment which was comfortable and clean. Well positioned for seafront and shops. A wide range of resteraunts to suit all tastes within easy walking distance. Parking was ok but could be a little aukward at busy times like the airshow. A very considerate welcome pack on arrival along with a very useful personal greeting. Overall a great stay in an apartment that I would recommend.
The cottage is a fine traditional cottage in a lovely setting. The location is a great base for the many attractions in the area - we went to the house and gardens at Nymans, the Wings Aviation museum, the Roman villa at Bignor, the Amberley outdoor folk museum, Mrs. Cummings cottage in Petworth and went to East Grinstead on the steam train from Sheffield Park. That's quite a variety and we enjoyed them all. The owners of the cottage were very friendly and helpful. We didn't need too much from them (because it was all good) but they gave the impression that they would have been only to wil...more
Buttercup and Daisy are lovely compact holiday studios ideal for a couple or single person stay. We found the property to be in good order, clean and equipped, although crockery is at the minimum (2 mugs, 2 wine glasses etc..). The layout of the studio works well and the bed was really comfy. Parking at Buttercup is a bit fiddly to get your car through the gate into the allocated space/reverse out. The best feature of this property is its location - a 20-25 minute walk into Rye or a 10 minute drive. Rye itself is a beautiful town with many lovely features. Rye Harbour reserve, Dungerne...more
Lovely home in the heart of Sussex close to attractions to suit all the family both young and old. Set in beautiful grounds next to The National Trusts, Sheffield Park. All the beds and bedding were of top quality and the large kitchen was fully equipped to a high standard with more than enough cutlery and crockery for everyone. Due to the fantastic weather the bbq was used overtime, especially as all gas was included. Most of the time breakfast and dinner was eaten outside on the large table and chairs provided. Would recommend to anyone and will certainly go back.
The Cow Hide is in a great location with views across to Arundel. The accomodation was excellent and the breakfast were fantastic. We will definitely be returning in the future.
This apartment was great for 2 people. Plenty of space and good facilities. It was nice to have your own car parking space.
A wonderful cottage in a quiet area! The whole house is lovely decorated, well equipped kitchen and a big beautiful garden and offers views of the surrounding area.
We arranged a last minute getaway to pig barn and it was great. It was in a wonderful little hamlet and was so quiet. The cottage is compact but very comfortable and well equipped. The owners were very welcoming and looked after us. The location was really good being not far from the road between Eastbourne and Seaford and was right on the edge of the seven sisters country park.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Oak Grove. The Cottage is well appointed with everything you need. Ideal base for walking the many local footpaths and The Witterings are not far away.
Great time in nicely renovated cottage with a somewhat difficult first floor, due to too litlle ventilation possibilities and a difficult stairway.
In the years of booking holiday cottages, this was the first time, that both owner and agency went beyond the call of duty to accommodate a last minute request. An exemplary service which only made our stay more memorable, as it had simply not lost its human touch. I would highly recommend Amberley and 76 The Mint. Perfect spot to unwind and enjoy all that Rye has to offer on your doorstop. Beds and linen are superior for a holiday let, leaving you feeling very comfortable indeed. Much appreciated.
On arriving I was shocked, I knew the house would be beautiful but it was far beyond my expectations! We had fabulous weather so spent alot of time in the charming pool. The gardens are gorgeous with speaking hills for miles and the house interia is full of amazing art. The perfect house for a large group with lovely kitchen and lots of compfy nooks to relax in. Could not have enjoyed our stay more, would love to come back! X
The cottage was lovely, big enough for us and our three children. It was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was really well stocked, all the home comforts you need on a self catering holiday. It was a real home away from home, we had a brilliant time and hopefully will be back next year!
This converted garage has everything two people may ask for: it is quiet, spacious and sparkling clean. The owners are delightfully friendly and helpful. It has a kitchenette with two bar stools - while we did not use it, it is equipped for i.e. breakfast or simple cooking. Good bed, though not too large. The bathroom is somewhat on the small side and there is not much space for your cosmetics, no shelves apart from the mirror's. Decent towels. However, the shower is large. No bathtub. WIFI is stable and fast enough. There is a sofa and a large enough TV, but we did not use these.
It was a real pleasure coming back to the cottage each day while exploring Sussex. Our 16-month daughter loved the walled garden and was fascinated by all the art. It was great being able to borrow a high chair as well. We hope to come back again next year.
We had a lovely week, the cottage was lovely, the kitchen well fitted and the welcome pack very well received. Hilary was very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday
Tarante had everything we want from short-break self-catering accommodation; it was clean and comfy, quiet and cosy. Perhaps more importantly it was within easy walking distance of the town centre with its great bars and restaurants, and had parking. The owner was friendly and helpful (the milk was a nice touch, so we could have a much-needed cup of tea on arrival) and every detail seemed to have been thought of in the accommodation. The garden was available to us and it was nice to have an early morning coffee in the sunshine on the decking. Highly recommended.
An excellent base, roomy and well laid out. An ideal spot for walking, cycling and chilling out. Road access to Maidstone or south to the coast is good and generally trouble-free. Headcorn the next small village is quaint and worth visiting for shopping and eating.
The Poolhouse was a lovely property, ideally situated centrally in Petworth. It contained everything that we required, fulfilling all our needs including those of a 92 year old who is partially disabled. The pool area is lovely and the heated pool a real bonus despite the disappointing June weather. We would certainly recommend this property to anyone visiting this beautiful area.
Ideal quiet cottage with lovely furnishings, gorgeous garden, french windows, glassed in roof just as in web pic. Wi fi available, small TV, lovely bedroom and flowers arranged beautifully for you, with welcome cake and fruit. Book lover's paradise, books for every taste. Helpful and friendly hosts but may be selling so check you get Liz and Chris! Own parking, very relaxing place to stay.
Very nice cottage in an inspiring and amazing landscape, 100% old Engeland. Perfect view on the Arundel Castle from our bedroom window and beautiful in the early morning with a misty ribbon above the Arun river.
Mallards is a clean and comfortable holiday home and a perfect base for visiting the many attractions in the area as, although it is in a secluded and peaceful location, it is only a short distance from the A3. The only small negatives were the lack of a couple of hooks on the bathroom door for our dressing gowns and the fact that the counter-top fridge was placed on the floor, making it difficult for less able people as ourselves to reach into. We felt privileged to be allowed to share the owners lovely garden and have the use of the bird hide. Our list of birds for the week included a nutha...more
Swan Cottage is a great location for the sights of Arundel and the surrounding district and only a short pleasant walk into the town in the evening to visiting the variety of eateries and watering holes. The cottage was a warm retreat from the not so clement weather and was amply supplied with home appliances and the comforts of home for cosy nights in. The beds were incredibly comfortable and cosy.
A lovely, clean and comfortable cottage in an ideal location. This was our fourth visit to this cottage. Handy for the shops and coast. A couple of breakfast bar stools would be an added benefit. A working light at the front door is required.
Tail end Cottage provided a perfect base for 3 adults and a small dog. It was very well equipped with everything you need including garden cushions and a neat little BBQ. Everything is literally on your doorstep and although you are in the heart of town, it was very peaceful (apart from the gulls in the morning)!!
We had a nice time here - we came for a family event in the area. The owner and the farmers were very friendly. The place is well equipped, quiet and nicely furnished. Dishwasher, full sized oven, microwave, couple of TVs and fridge. Internet access worked fine too. Two bathrooms (one a shower room and one with a proper bath) very useful for two people and two kids. We walked a few footpaths and visited the Queen's Head (recommended but not that cheap) in West Chiltington. You can easily walk there on public footpaths and bridleways (takes 45 mins) avoiding the road - for route look for...more
The Apartment was exactly as described on website and supplied details/ photographs. Close to the station.
Yet another very enjoyable stay at Lazy Meadows. Wonderful location and comfortable house. Surprisingly peaceful spot
at every level. Lambles is fitted out with everything you would require for staying away. Lesley was more than helpful without being overbearing, very quiet and peaceful.
Rosemary Cottage is a small but comfortable holiday base for exploring Sussex. It is well equipped and clean with good facilities. It is adequately furnished with some nice touches. I particularly liked the prints and photographs along the stairwell. The local facilities are excellent with restaurants and pubs within walking distance. We particularly liked the Windmill which has good well priced food with friendly service. The nearer Green Man serves more expensive but excellent food although the service was a bit cooler. You can catch a bus to Brighton right outside the Green Man which we f...more
We found Mountsfield Lodge like a home from home. It was very comfortable, very well furnished, & had everything you could need for a self catering holiday. In a quiet, but central location, perfect for getting around the local area.We had a couple of issues, which we raised with Tim ,the owner & they were dealt with within the day. Would most certainly recommend this place to anyone. We had the most enjoyable stay.
Had a fantastic long weekend. Beautiful location with the countryside and amazing walks right on your doorstep. Ideal for those with dogs.
Quiet restful holiday break in very pleasant surroundings. Excellent accommodation. Warm welcome from Mrs Wiseman set the tone for the holiday.
A spacious, comfortable, well equipped apartment close to the Hastings Country Park. We enjoyed several lovely walks with spectacular views. There is no pub or shop within walking distance but several a short drive away. The owners were very friendly and helpful in making suggestions of places to visit.
Beautifully furnished extremely comfortable and very well equipped cottage. Great location Highly recommend.
We have been coming to this cottage for the last 15 years and it is always a home from home to us . The owners are very warm and helpful and the welcome pack they provide when you arrive is outstanding and most appreciated. The cottage is well equipped should you need the washing machine, tumble drier etc and is ideally located for visits to Brighton , Arundel , Eastbourne and Hastings. Locally Lewes Town centre is worth a visit if you are interested in Antiques , collectables etc there is the Flea Market and a couple of Antique shops. Both my partner and I thought that the apartment was wonderful. We both enjoyed staying there. It is very well laid out.
An excellent week at this lovely cottage. We used it as a base whilst walking the South Downs Way.Very peaceful and quiet and the owners were extremely helpful.
A lovely cottage in a gorgeous location with friendly welcoming hosts. Quail cottage provided everything we needed, including an extremely comfortable bed. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone. Thank you Dick and Margaret for making us feel at home!
We very much enjoyed our stay here. The house is really well located, within walking distance of the railway station and the town, and on a very quiet street. We were able to explore the beautiful Cathedral and the quaint buildings in the town on foot, and take a trip on the train to nearby Fishbourne Roman Palace, which was stunning. The house itself was very comfortable - it was a sunny weekend so we spent most of our time in the light and airy conservatory, looking out over the garden, but I can imagine that the front room would be nice and snug on a winter evening. The kitchen is excellent...more
My husband and I were very happy with our stay at Calceto. Our hosts were friendly and helpful and recommended some good local restaurants and pubs. The apartment was very comfortable, clean, quiet and well-equipped. It is also conveniently located, a short walk from Arundel station and just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Arundel, which made it easy for us to explore the town. There are also some nice walks close by along the River Arun.
Absolutely lovely house, spacious and great decor. So close to the beach. Only criticism was that the glass door to the balcony in the twin room could've done with a bind/curtain - the children woke up so early - less daylight might have helped!
Wonderful cottage that sleeps 10 comfortably with lots of space inside and out for a family occasion.
Second visit to this location and enjoyed our stay just as much. The location is good for us visiting relatives in Bognor Regis, as well as a base for wider travel to e.g. Portsmouth, Brighton. Chichester station is a short drive and offers ample parking for a reasonable daily rate. The accommodation is clean, spacious and very quiet. All the facilities are in good working order and there is plenty of crockery and utensils. It is next to a working arable farm but we've never encountered any very early or late goings on. If I had one criticism it's that the blinds in the master bedroom offer l...more
We spent two weeks at Selden Black. The studio was very well equipped with everything you might need. Owners were very lovely and helpful and on hand if you have any problems. We had a lovely time!
An Ideal location to explore the peaceful surroundings near Chichester Harbour. A comfortable base with good parking and rural view. A lovely restful week.
A very good holiday because the accommodation at Priors Barn was excellent. Well appointed and comfortable a real home from home. We shall look forward to visiting again.
We had a wonderful time in the gorgeous Sussex countryside. The Granary exceeded our expectations with it’s huge kitchen, cosy lounge, two spacious en suite double bedrooms and lovely outdoor balcony. The village is very pleasant with great places to eat. There is so much do in the local area, including Bolney Wine Estate and Borde Hill Gardens. The WiFi was intermittent but this didn’t bother us. I would highly recommend the Granary.
Lovely house, everything we needed for a comfortable and practical base for the beach and exploring the areas attractions.
Great base, cosy and comfortable. Lovely welcome from the owners. Spent the week catching up with family and friends, the afternoons at Goodwood races.
from the initial booking via Wil, to arrival at the cottage was seamless. The directions were spot on and easy to follow on google Maps especially as we didn't have SatNav. The welcome from the property owners was very warm and the cottage was in immaculate condition, everything looked new and of high quality. The two bathrooms with one upstairs with a real bath was a bonus as was the central heating and oodles of steaming hot water. We stayed 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet of the surrounding countryside and nearby forest walks. The local pub and corner shops were also with...more
Comfortable cottage, well equipped, and ideally placed for visiting Arundel and surrounding attractions. Interesting building, lovely garden - unable to take advantage of that owing to cold weather, but I can see it would be a huge bonus in hot weather. Some outside noise from traffic, but offset by the advantage of having the co-op, fish and chip shop and cash point all so handy. Would certainly stay here again if visiting Sussex.
Our stay at Hayreed was all too brief. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cottage was delightful, the welcome pack was delicious. Our hosts were very welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed. The location was special, we were delighted by the bird song. Sitting in the little side garden with a morning cuppa, what a way to start a day. Thank you .
Brilliant stay at Regency House. Lots of character and comfort in a great location! Great space easily catering to a large group. A little worried about parking but we all found a space just outside. Definitely recommend!
We reccomend this beautiful place in UK ! Very nice Place to spend holiday time and Ideal place for artist !
Little Lock Cottage was exceptionally clean and well equipped, lovely surroundings and perfect owners.
Lovely location within walking distance of everything in Arundel. The cottage was very well equipped and tastefully furnished. Beautiful views from the top bedroom. Parking tricky during the Festival, but we enjoyed joining in with lots of events.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the country. Great base to explore the wonderful countryside of the South Downs.
An excellent find for an elderly mother (En-suite and all downstairs) and her adult children so that we could attend my son (her grandsons) wedding in Bury and then Houghton at the weekend. The bungalow was a lovely place to sit and relax or use as a base to explore the local area. Car parking on site was a challenge as two large cars, but easy to park on road outside, which was only very busy at school times. The garden was very well maintained and we even managed a small daily supply of strawberries and raspberries from the front. The weather was nice enough to sit outside for quite a lot o...more
Took my elderly parents for a few days. They loved it. Nice and bright cottage. Very well equipped. Comfortable beds and everywhere very clean. Host was lovely and made sure we had everything. Location great for visiting places. Only 10 min drive to the seafront. Would definitely recommend.
A lovely family house in an excellent location, all the main rooms had views down to the fields where we enjoyed watching the sheep and lambs. The garden was large enough for both our dogs to have a good run and the grandson to practice his football. Enjoyable walks through the adjoining woods. There was plenty of room and seating to accommodate our extended family who visited us our during both days of our stay. We used the AGA which was satisfactory once we worked out how to turn it on properly, but I would suggest that if future visitors intend to use it that they get full instructions fro...more
Sea Pinks is a charming old cottage that has been tastefully decorated and furnished and with prety gardens in the front and back. The quiet shingle beach with its RNLI lifeboat station and fishing boats is just a 5 minute walk away; and Selsey village is 5 minutes by car. Between the cottage and beach is a pub/diner that serves marvellous fish and chips as part of its extensive menu. The sea paths are lovely for walking and there is plenty to do further afield: the Pagham Harbour Nature reserve (10 mins by car); crazy golf for the whole family (10 minutes by car); and Chichester (20 minute...more
Have just come back from a glorious week at the Freeland, which is in a great location just outside the town so had peace and quiet and the sound of the birds chirping away was lovely in the morning while eating breakfast on the patio. When we arrived there was a jug of milk in the fridge, freshly laid eggs and some homemade chocolate brownies left for us. The property was done up to an excellent standard and had full amenities. The kitchen was well equipped including, the shower was great with a choice of a rain shower or a more powerful massage shower. The beds were lovely and comfortable ...more
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Claires Cottage. The location was perfect for visiting the local attractions. The cottage is very comfortable and clean. The enclosed garden for the dogs was a bonus. Anne is a most welcoming host and it was lovely looking at the sheep and chickens around the farm.
This cottage is in the perfect location, footpaths straight from the door across lovely farmland. Wildlife abundance, I.e. barn owl, deer and Fox. The cottage is reasonably well equipped but a basin would have been good.! Lots to do in the area, or just sit and relax with a glass of wine - perfect.
Property is good for short term stay 2 - 4 days. Cooking facilities limited and suffered problems Fine if you are eating out in the evening Stairway access difficult if you have heavy luggage Fantastic gardens and view
We picked this cottage as it was close to a meeting we had to attend. It was very handily placed for this and associated visits around Ashdown Forest. Hosts are very friendly and left us a generous welcome pack of food and drink on arrival. It is a well set out cottage which suited our party with a ground floor double room and ensuite and bedrooms upstairs with a bathroom.. There are some very low beams but this didn't detract from our stay. Sitting outside the view across the valley is so secluded and you can just hear the Bluebell Railway trains tooting as they approach Horsted Keynes...more
We had a lovely time at this neat and tidy cottage. We had everything we needed - and more - and the house is great for a family of 5 like us. Perfect location, we hope to be back!
Saltmarsh cottage is a short walk from Camber Sands. The cottage is very well equipped with a helpful information folder and straightforward instructions. The back yard was a lovely sunny spot to enjoy our coffee/breakfast. The welcome pack with local produce was delicious and a nice surprise too.
A delightful homely cottage, clean, light and spacious and very well equipped. Would highly recommend this cottage which is ideally situated in the beautiful South Downs.
As we have traveled all over Great Britain during the last years, and have seen many cottages, we can judge the quality of a cottage within the first 30 seconds. We can be short about this cottage: excellent! - Remote and quiet location - Friendly owners - Large enough cottage for 4 grown ups. - Countryside and lots of trees, plants and flowers surrounding the cottage - Interesting places to visit close by - Perfect locations for walking - Supermarket close by - 2 Hour travel distance from Dover (if you come from abroad by car) - No WiFi though, but if that is the only minor we could...more
Nice cottage with good facilities and useful supply of food items on arrival. Suited us well (retired couple) - quiet, minor road noise sometimes (not night), sitting out area and encouraged to use garden by owner. Many pleasant walks from cottage door around the footpaths of Henfield. We enjoyed ourselves!
We all enjoyed our stay at River cottage the location was excellent to visit several National Trust gardens , it was also a very peaceful location with no passing traffic, the added bonus was the short walk to the river which was a wildlife haven we saw barn owls on several occasions flying early evening and late morning , two badgers and deer. The walk along the river was wonderful all you could see were meadows and the South Downs we would definitely return as the property had a nice atmosphere and was light and airy.
A very comfortable barn conversion in an excellent location for visiting places of interest around the Sussex Coast and South Downs
Third time coming and we feel very at home. Everything is looked after. Excellent housekeeper. Absolutely comfortable
We often self cater in holiday homes like this. Echo House was wonderfully equipped, great for families who want a home from home. It was really comfortable, with a pretty garden. We were able to entertain family who live nearby with a bbq under the delightful pergola. Lots of space to park cars out front. Well situated for beautiful walks across Pulborough Brooks, easy drives to the coast, Arundel, Chicester... We would love to stay here again.
This is our second time holidaying there and it was just as good as before, I've already booked for next year, it has everything you need to have a great holiday, fabulous location, comfy beds, loads of space and very dog friendly
Church Cottage is a hidden gem. Located in the beautiful Graffham village this wonderful home has everything you need. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time there and cannot wait to return! Would highly recommend!
We had a lovely week at Oakhouse Barn. The barn is comfortable, well equipped and spacious. We particularly loved the huge en suite and roll top bath! The views from the back of the barn are stunning and it was incredibly peaceful. Well located for the South Downs and mountain biking, as well as the coast.
We thoroughly enjoyed our few days at this lovely small house. The proprietor, Julian, went the extra mile to help us with a couple of small problems - many thanks again, Julian
We loved our stay in Rose Cottage! It’s small, but it has everything that you need. The kitchen is very well-equipped, the shower is powerful and the bed is comfortable. The cottage was lovely and clean; we also really liked the ‘mid-stay freshen up’ that was offered free of charge during our two week stag. It was nice to have the towels and bedding changed halfway through our time there. The location is great - very close to Arundel’s Main Street. We got fit walking up and down the hill after eating all the delicious food that’s on offer in the area. As well as eating lots, we enjoyed the wal...more
We stayed there for the second time at this lovely place.Everything was very cosy and personal, one felt welcome and warmly invited.Everything you need is there-including books-which I need and read.English at its best.-one felt cared for! Best stay in this area! many thanks Brigtte
Lionel met us on arrival, told us what we needed to know and then left us to it. Perfect. The cottage is lovely and was really clean. There's plenty to do near by. We had a great time and would like to go back.
We had a pleasant stay in autumn, there are lots of places to visit in the area. We visited small villages en beautiful gardens. Saw some castles. Enjoyed it very much. There were lots of goodies when we arrived, delicious. Cooking on the Aga was new for us, but it worked very well. Bathrooms were well equipped, beds very good.
Wonderful stay at The Salts. A cute but stylish terraced cottage in Rye opposite a lovely park - perfect for dogs. The owners had thought of everything from a lovely welcome pack and gorgeous toiletries to dog bed and beach blankets! The location is great, just a short walk to the centre which is full of independent shops, great cafes, restaurants and antiques. Surrounded by beautiful walks and a short hop and a skip from fabulous beaches at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and Camber. After a long day enjoying all that Rye has to offer you are guaranteed a glorious nights sleep in the most comforta...more
Excellent welcome package waiting for us in this beautifully presented stylish cottage. Everything one might need during a stay was provided. It exceeded our expectations. On the night we returned to find that the water was off, because of a burst water main locally, Beth appeared at our door with emergency supplies of bottled water.
We had a really lovely stay. Comfortable, kitchen and dining facilities excellent. The same for the bedroom, and the sofa bed. Annie let us take our dogs, they had a great time. Wonderful walks in the South Downs. Please let me know if you do Autumn breaks. Thank you Annie for a really restful break. Jay
Have just had a wonderful week here. The place was a snug retreat for us while we visited family and friends. Julian and Joanne were very helpful - even gave us the opportunity to view the movement of a swarm of bees, which was utterly fascinating. Facilities were excellent and the place was very well laid out. We'll be coming back.
We had a very pleasant stay in this flat overlooking the church and Petworth House. The location is very convenient for the shops and restaurants in Petworth and for exploring further afield. The owner made us feel very welcome and left us treats and ideas of places to visit. The flat was extremely comfortable, the only drawback is the lack of a parking space.
The cottage is in a beautiful & peaceful location with lovely walks right from the doorstep. Lots of birds to watch and a reed bed ( fenced off ) add to the ambiance. It is really pretty and has all the comforts of home. There is plenty of space upstairs and downstairs, surprising in a cottage. The kitchen is well equipped. The windows overlook the garden where there is a good sized table on the patio perfect for a morning coffee or an evening meal. The garden is large and has a variety of trees with cottage style flowers. We were visited by an incredibly friendly dog & cat, made us feel at ho...more
A lovely setting in a working farm. Great walks for our dog, lots of fresh air, and, above all, peaceful. Only a short distance from the city and a host of shops and a wide variety of interesting places to visit. We fully intend to return one day soon.
Enjoyed visit to Rye , the walk into town was lovely down the grassy hillside and along 1066 way. Daisy studio was comfortable and had everything we needed. Thankyou for letting us put our food in fridge early and leave flowers n water. The milk in fridge was a kind thought and the homemade jam.
A comfortable stay and met our needs .We were made to feel very welcome. Comfortable and clean bed ensured we had a good night's sleep
Stairs are dangerous especially at night. as bathroom downstairs. Doorway to kitchen low about 5ft 10 inches. Living area dark unless you have backdoor open, , sofa v uncomfortable. Traffic noise makes sitting outside a bit unpleasant, car parking difficult as narrow entrance and v busy road.
We really enjoyed our time here. The house itself is gorgeous and we were made to feel very welcome by the owners. Our teenage son had the entire mezzanine to himself which he loved. The house is about 5 mins from the local shops which are open until 11 for supplies. Within 45 mins drive there are many seaside towns and beautiful gardens / historic places to visit.
WE HAD A LOVELY STAY AT IVY COTTAGE WHICH HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR A COMFORTABLE STAY. SUSAN WAS VERY HELPFUL AND ON HAND PROMPTLY TO DEAL WITH ANY ISSUES,
This was our second stay at Apple barn. The barn is spacious, clean and very welcoming. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. It is equipped with everything to make your stay enjoyable. Although in a rural location it is not far from the towns of Arundel and Chichester. Our hosts, Becky and Simon are only too pleased to be of help. Thank you very much for the food gifts, which were much appreciated. We look forward to visiting again in the future!
Excellent short stay accommodation, very hospitable friendly accommodating owners. Easy access to the property and well suited for travellers to the Sussex downs and the cities of Chichester and Guildford. Unpretentious but unique property of good value.
The house is full of charm and feels like the residents have just gone out for a stroll because it's full of art, books and music. Kitchen is well-stocked for cooking and baking, and the barbeque set made a welcome change from the Aga. Beautiful location and lush garden allowed plenty of space to stretch out and relex without getting in each other's space. The second bathroom could benefit from some modernising but the seasonal spiders didn't seem to mind! Must have a car to overcome its relative remoteness. In short, a lovely location that feels like a home, not an anonymous modern box.
The cottage is very small, but for two persons o.k..The furniture should be renewed. The Garden is very nice. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They gave many suggestions.
Family with 2 children and a dog, the Tractor Shed was perfect for our needs. It was comfortable, cosy, lots of space and a very well stocked kitchen. Also complimentary bacon and eggs on our first morning went down very well and set us up for the day ahead. The proprietors were very welcoming and friendly and if you are interested in art I would recommend taking part in one of Toni's art classes that she runs on a Wednesday morning. My ten year old daughter loved it! (Toni caters for all ages - from young to old). We loved being near the farm, seeing the chickens, sheep and horses. Location ...more
Thank you for our wonderful stay in the enchanting, historical Lavendar Cottage. It has a happy family feel about it and sitting in the sun trap patio relaxing with a book was just perfect. Butterflies and bees busying themselves around the well kept, thoughtfully designed garden was quite therapeutic. Then the conservatory which was just brilliant when the breeze was just a bit chillier. The entrance into the utility room was just ideal, we so wish we had this at home. We fell in love with Lavendar Cottage and the fascinating village it resides in, a step back in time with it's quaint shops,...more
Saga heats up the kitchen, not a nice place to have breakfast in summer. Car park in the street. Owner of house behind cottage parked his car just in front of our entrance.
Double bed uncomfortable and a spring poked through the mattress which could have caused injury. No facilities for drying washing indoors, only a rotary dryer behind garages enclosed by walls so little sunlight or breeze to dry washing. A clothes airer would have been most useful. Double room has no mirror or anywhere to sit to dry hair, apply makeup, etc. Twin room has no hanging space, our daughter had to share our wardrobe, which wasn’t ideal. Single room has no mirror for hairdrying etc, very important for a teenager. No shelf space in en-suite bathroom or in shower, which meant bending do...more
Lovely llttle apartment, very clean and cosy. Really enjoyed our 8 days stay here. Location is great, pubs, restaurants and shops all within walking distance. We only recommand a guideline for turning on the heating and also on how to turn off the smokedetector, as it turned out te be very sensitive.
We had the best week at Shepards Cottage. The setting is perfect, to the front of the cottage is the village and to the back the view of the South Downs and the green fields. The bed was very comfortable and the new huge TV was perfect for us. Loved sitting in the conservatory in the evening. We would highly recommend a stay at Shepards Cottage when visiting the area.
A wonderful, comfy & well-equipped home. Our four-generation family loved spending time together in the garden and enjoying the countryside views. Rye was a gentle walk away with friendly locals and plenty of eateries.
A well equipped and comfortable base in the heart of Hastings Old Town, this is a ground floor flat of a five storey town house, just yards from the house used in Foyle's War. There is a small terrace out front to enjoy a view over the Old Town and a courtyard out the back, dominated by the cliff edge but cosy nonetheless. There is no parking nearby, but you have to expect that in a tightly packed old town. Clothes in the cupboard became damp, perhaps difficult to avoid in a house tight up against a cliff. It's a bit confusing that the nameboard by the door (Garden Flat) is different from the ...more
The cottage is a great base for attractions in Sussex by car. Lots of room for a large group and everything you need for a self catering stay. However the cottage needs a little attention we were unable to use the garden chairs as in disrepair, one room had a half built bed and one other had slats that were not in place which meant my husband slept the first night on a slant. The microwave has seen better days and probably unsafe to use. The TV in the front living room was not plugged in and the lead was not long enough for the nearest plug which was disappointing with such a large group. Th...more
Very disappointed with this property located in a family compound where guests needs were very much secondary. Heating not on when we arrived and none in the bathroom at first until we asked the owner to check and it was adjusted but this should have been done beforehand. There were no instructions on how to regulate the temperature. Mattress was well past its due date to be changed. Insufficient noise barrier between property and adjacent garage and pool area where children played very noisily. Informed that someone left for work at 5.15 every morning and started car in garage ri...more
The cottage was clean, modern & mostly comfortable. Poor lighting in the living area especially nighttime. Bed in the main bedroom was so close to the floor difficult to get in & out of. If an elderly person had been staying they would have found it awkward. Needs new mattress. We felt the kitchen needed more equipment...cups, mugs, cutlery. If there had been more of us staying we would have run out of things after every meal. Good spot for visiting Lewes, coast, NT properties, Charleston & Monks House. There was road noise but as we had a fan going at night....it was warm...we didn't real...more
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage for our daughters wedding at Slaugham Place. It was in the perfect location and was the perfect layout and size for our purpose. We entertained some wedding guests from the hotel and had enough room for all the bridesmaids and bride to get ready. Unfortunately there are a few issues that marred our stay. The bathroom and ensuite were in a very poor state, with cracked and mismatched tiles and black mound around the grout and edges of the shower tray and bath. The shower controls come away from the unit and are extremely difficult to use. Both bathrooms ar...more
Cosy historic cottage just inside the Landgate. Well priced for peak times. Garden was very well used by us. We had a great time.
We had a very enjoyable stay at House on the Brooks. The layout was very good to accommodate our party.
We stayed at Oak House over the Easter weekend, it was perfect. Oak House is a gorgeous house and perfect for our family gathering. We were welcomed by a basket of goodies which was lovely. Great location for exploring Rye town and the surrounding areas. We cycled down to Camber Sands and Rye harbour with the kids. Will visit again. Thank you John
We had a great time at the Farthings for a late summer getaway. The property is in a fantastic location near to West Wittering beach. The pool and games room are hidden gems in the cottage and we enjoyed the garden and outdoor living.
Excellent property located in a quiet parish but with all relevant facilities and nice trips within reach
After busy Londen we (family with two adolescent children) wanted a couple of quiet days in the country. In France Cottage we found what we were looking for and more. The cottage has everything you need (dishwasher, washingmachine, oven, microwave etc etc) and lots of character. Proprietor Sara is a wonderful host, who told us much about the history of Patching and surroundings. Gave us good tips as well, i.e for swimming and visiting a bizarre church nearby, where a local artist has copied the Sixtine Chapel! Really special. Patching is lovely, we had some great walks there. Sara makes you fe...more
We had a 4 night break with friends (and the dog). We were all delighted with the standard of the cottage which is very well equipped and in an excellent location for visiting the local area.
We were an adult party of five (three generations of one family, plus dog). We stayed for most of a week and used the property as a base for beach walks and visits to sites such as Bodiam Castle, Rye Harbour and the Kent & East Sussex Steam Railway. On arrival there was a lovely cake, cookies and local apple juice waiting for us which was a nice touch, and more than made up for the fact the previous visitors had used all the nespresso capsules! It is very close to the beach (if you don’t mind a scramble over the dunes just 5 mins) and the Owl pub. Parking is challenging as the spac...more
A lovely house by the sea with garden and open fireplace. Very light and comfortable. Great for quiet, relaxing break away from the city.
This cottage was ideal centre for exploring East Sussex. Coastal and Downs walks and many interesting places to visit. Very quiet, rural setting. Cottage well equipped and cosy.
We loved staying at Cathedral view and wish it could have been for longer. The cottage is very close to the centre of Arundel but is is in a quiet location. Arun park is about 5 minutes walk and is a great place to walk the dog and you can start some lovely walks to the downs from here. The castle is nearby and well worth a vist but i would put aside a few hours to take your time. There are some lovely tea rooms, shops and pubs and lots of history in Arundel. The cottage was very well equipped, cosy and comfortable and a lovely place to return to after a day out. The only 2 niggles we had ...more
What a find. Small but beautifully formed and in a location almost to die for. A walkers / dog owners paradise; clean and tastefully renovated; well equipped kitchen; good shower over bath. It suited us and our puppy as we used second bedroom for our clothes. Go there now!!!
One of the best showers we've come across in a cottage. A great kitchen too. The TV in each room and Wifi available were also nice touches. The customer service was very friendly and helpful, when we had questions there was always someone available. The location next to Fishers Farm Park, plus nearby pubs and towns was perfect for our family.
A warm welcoming house. The position is ideal for us due to easy access to the coast and numerous walks in the countryside. The cottage has all the facilities we require and we have enjoyed all our visits.
We booked Little House as it was near our son's home, we live in Cornwall and our other children live in Essex and Hong Kong. We all wanted to be together for Christmas and so the location was ideal. It was spacious downstairs with two bedrooms and a bathroom all of a good size and a further ensuite bedroom upstairs (couldn't work the heating upstairs so it tended to be cold). The open plan kitchen and living room allowed a very sociable space. The games room is a great addition when you have a lot of people around and is equipped with a table tennis equipment and a few board games. Al...more
We booked the cottage as a base for our wedding party. It was a great location and well equipped for our needs. My only criticism was there was no storage facility for our food shopping
Stunning house a real cosy family home to enjoy in the beautiful countryside with the most unbelievable enormous swimming pool.
Quite comfortable and clean. In my experience overpriced compared to other properties we stayed at. Good base.
Stayed here for 10 days in August, this apartment is in need of updating . It is advertised as wheelchair accessible which it is to enter . The bathroom consists of a bath with overhead shower. Most people in a wheelchair would find it difficult to get in and out of a bath , a walk in shower would be a big improvement. There were not enough towels provided for five people and the one`s that were there smelled musty as if they had been stored for a long time . Could not fault the agent who was quick to provide some more clean towels for us. All things considered would not stay in this apartment...more
Saxons was in a pleasant location and there was a nice patio area to sit outside on the whole the rooms were clean and comfortable. However I felt bedding and towels had been well used/washed and the towels particularly were 'thin' and needed renewing.
I have just spent 10 days in a lovely converted dairy cottage. I was given a warm welcome and shown where everything was. The views were either over rolling countryside or on horses heads looking over their doors, bliss. If you are looking for somewhere full of charm I would recommend Old Dairy Cottage any time.
The hosts were lovely and very helpful. We loved the cottage and it was plenty big enough (despite other reviews) for two of us and we have definitely stayed in more than a few smaller places! The fact that the (large and bright) bedroom was separate and the sitting room area was upstairs made it more like a cottage than a studio. The outside area to sit with the friendly chickens and have breakfast/drink tea or wine and breathe in the countryside peace was wonderful! It was so quiet too with owls gently hooting at night and we slept like babies. Perfect location for plenty of walking too.
We were delighted with our stay at the apartment. The location was perfect, and everything was spotlessly clean and looked brand new. The beds were very comfortable & the kitchen very well appointed. I loved my stay here - all the little touches made it feel like a home and not a holiday let, and my better half loved the smart TV. Would certainly try to book again next time we visit the area, which will hopefully be soon as we now have family relocated there. Thank you.
Lovely quirky looking interior however we didn't sleep very well through the whole stay. First night we tried the steps up to mezimen bedroom but the noise from the fridge freezer which is so very close starting up all night was too much so we tried making up the sofa bed for the rest of the stay but that wasn't very comfy on one side so apart from lack of sleep we did enjoy the surroundings and the quiet privacy that The Well House has to offer.
We spent 6 days at the end of October at Beach Reach. 4 adults and 2 children. The location is fantastic and even in October, access to the beach from the back door is fantastic. Waking up in the 1st floor bedroom to the amazing view is a real treat. There is loads to do in the area and we can highly recommend the English Heritage sites of Battle Abbey and Dover Castle as well as the fantastic bike tracks around Bedgebury Pinetum. The house had everything we needed and was a comfortable and cozy retreat each evening. Having a real fire was a treat. The only observation I would make is that ...more
Good except we found the bed very hard: key for front door mortice lock erratic: stairs not easy to negotiate.
Cosy, comfortable little cottage in an excellent location for a dog friendly break.Very quiet and fantastic walks nearby
Modern house well equipped. Shame about the limited parking. In general house style suits only 2 adults and kids due to only one shower and small kitchen/dining area. Office/lounge extension was a plus.
