Gorgeous extended 3 storey townhouse close to the centre of Chichester, with a lovely mix of modern facilities and interesting design features. An ideal location to explore this great city and all that West Sussex has to offer.

We loved our stay in Longwall House at the weekend.
It's a cosy house in a great location with stylish features and all mod cons and we were extremely comfortable there; it also had lots of considerate additions and helpful notes from Nick the owner.
Please pass on our compliments.

Stylish show-home feel in a central but quiet location - superb. Would recommend

There is the feel of a show-home rather than a holiday rental at Longwall House. The fittings, fixtures, towels, bedding, utensils, appliances and crockery are all of a high standard and all seem to be brand new. The conversion of the kitchen into a through living area appears quite recent and it is really stylish. Velux windows abound, which allow the light to flood in. House plants, vases, ornaments and deep pile carpets add to the show-home feel.

The rear ground floor kitchen / diner is a lovely light and airy space which transforms at night with 4 sets of dimmable lighting. There is a dining table, a state of the art kitchen with large gas/ electric range cooker and island breakfast bar and a seating area with a couple of sofas. The patio doors lead into a neat garden with raised beds, a lawn, trained apple trees and a sitting area with chairs and table, BBQ, log store and a shed.

A cosy front room with comfy sofas, coffee table books and a log burning stove is also the TV room. There is a good selection of DVDs including boxed sets and a big screen TV. The TV does not receive terrestrial TV but there is Apple TV giving access to the internet and a multitude of channels.

There are more gadgets around the house; the large fridge freezer was a hit with the children, producing copious amounts of crushed ice and chilled water. The electric juicer was used on the windfall apples. A Bluetooth sound system in the kitchen was impressive. Broadband internet was good with wifi extenders to every corner of the house.

The location is superb, being very close to the city centre but surprisingly quiet at night. Caledonian Road is just off the inner ring road so easy to find and there is a convenience store just round the corner. We parked in the Pay-and-Display Car Park at the rear of the house using the cashless “MiPermit” Smartphone App to buy car parking tickets. We could keep an eye on the car from the upstairs windows and had no trouble. There is a recreation ground with swings on the way to the car park.

The beds were comfortable, 2 doubles on the first floor and 2 singles in the attic. The attic has a small loo & wash basin with some interesting exotic wallpaper! The first floor bathroom is large, with a walk in shower with soap / shampoo / conditioner dispensers, basin, loo and large roll-top bath. There is a handy loo & washbasin under the stairs on the ground floor.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The house is really well located, within walking distance of the railway station and the town, and on a very quiet street. We were able to explore the beautiful Cathedral and the quaint buildings in the town on foot, and take a trip on the train to nearby Fishbourne Roman Palace, which was stunning. The house itself was very comfortable - it was a sunny weekend so we spent most of our time in the light and airy conservatory, looking out over the garden, but I can imagine that the front room would be nice and snug on a winter evening. The kitchen is excellently equipped - we went out to eat but we could easily have cooked for ourselves if we had wished. Altogether we had a really great weekend in Chichester.
