This is the second time we have used this cottage. As previously, the owners have been very friendly and helpful. The cottage the is the ideal place to come for a quiet relaxing break. There are plenty of places of interest to visit in the vicinity. All in all we highly recommend this cottage.

Martins Cottage was comfortable, well-equipped with lots of character within a fabulous location. Beautiful walks right on the doorstep. Ideal for us to explore the South Downs.
The owners were very friendly and helpful providing useful local information based on their knowledge of the area.
A nice touch was that there were fresh flowers in the rooms.

Covid 19 specific comments: There was plenty of cleaning/antiseptic products provided.

We had the most delightful stay in Martins Cottage. Though quite small, it was extremely comfortable. Well equipped and everything of good quality. As a ‘senior couple’ we did find the shower handset slightly difficult to use.
Rosemary, the owner, made us so welcome and offered much helpful information.
Bury, is lovely little village, and is a really good center to explore the Downs, without having to travel far.
The local pub, The Squire and Horse, served lovely meals.
If we ever came to this area again we would definitely stay in this charming cottage.

A lovely small cosy thatched cottage, in a very quite village. Lovely walks in the area. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Plenty of places of interest to visit in the surrounding area, there is also a local farm shop and pub nearby. All in all a pleasant comfortable place to relax and enjoy your stay, highly recommended.

We had a perfect stay in Martin's Cottage. The weather was cold and rainy, but inside it was nice and cosy. Heathers and a fire place made sure we warmed up quickly after a long walk in the beautyful surrounding nature. The use of firewood was included, what we very much appreciated. The bed was cosy but comfortable. The kitchen did not have so much equipment, but we managed. Bob and Rosemary where helpful and very friendly, they gave us advise about hiking and going out for dinner.

Great location for walking on the Downs and visiting Amberley, Petworth and Arundel. Comfortable (firm) bed and lovely linen
Kitchen is very small and minimalist in equipment. Pubs nearby, White Horse at Sutton does excellent food

Ideal little home from home, close to the South Downs Way and lots of other footpaths and places of interest. Warm and comfortable, and the owners are next door and couldn't be more helpful. The central heating played up during our stay but was fixed immediately. Full marks all round.

This lovely cottage is hidden away in a quiet little hamlet. It is very well appointed with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts are wonderful, friendly people, and we loved meeting their very gentle and well-behaved dogs too. The garden is delightful. The traffic on the main road can just about be heard when outside but not from indoors.

There is a very good farm shop close by and several towns within a few miles so the cottage, although giving the great feeling of being away from it all, isn't in reality as all needs are within convenient reach.

Broadband bandwidth is quite narrow at about 1.5Mbps but then you shouldn't be here to work! It is certainly enough for email and Googling, just don't expect to watch streaming TV or films. (Check the date when you have read this, there may have been an upgrade since.)

We had a wonderful time in the beautiful little cottage, perfectly prepared by Bob & Rosemary. It was all we hoped for, and had a nice, relaxing midweek-stay in West-Sussex. Excellent base to explore the Sussex Downs and the Sussex Coast (if you have a car at your disposal).

Can only recommend a stay at Martins Cottage, a lovely countryside cottage in a dreamy village - and a quaint countryside pub with excellent Sunday roast on top. Enjoyed a few wintery days walking along the South Downs way, and the cottage was perfect to warm up again each evening in front of the fireplace. The owner was very welcoming and flexible. The beautiful surroundings and lovely cottage make for a perfect getaway.
