Our stay was really lovely. It was very peaceful, and the perfect place to recharge the batteries. The scenery and walks were beyond beautiful, it brought so much contentment and happiness.

Really down-to-earth, genuinely dog-friendly owners, and a lovely little characteristic cottage. Beautiful grounds, immediate access to South Downs along picturesque country lanes and the cottage had everything we needed. The condition of the cottage for us was excellent but I've put good because it's a down-to-earth, characteristic wee place that caters for wet, muddy walkers and pets so I don't want to put 'excellent' and have people thinking it's the Hilton because it's not. We'd have hated it if it were that. It's for people who come and go. You don't feel as if you're going to get fined if you spill something. It's welcoming, small, comfortable and clean and that's exactly what we wanted. Access to the garden was perfect for both us and the dog, and everything was safe and secure. We'd go back to this cottage at the drop of a hat. Roy and Diane let you get on with your stay, in a highly friendly and unobtrusive manner. Thank you both. xx

The cottage was set in a stunning location with wonderful views and access to walks to enjoy the countryside. The grounds of the cottage were also peaceful and the owners were friendly and very helpful. Our only criticism was that the cottage needed a little tlc; it had cobwebs round ceilings, fittings missing from curtains so they hung down awkwardly, light bulbs that needed replacing and windows that had poor fastenings and blown glass. None of this spoilt our holiday but we regularly have this sort of break where we rent cottages for walking opportunities and this was noticeably the worst property we have stayed in. We would recommend this property to other walkers but would advise them of the condition of it.

First impressions are good, its a pretty cottage in very pleasant surroundings. However, things go downhill somewhat on entering. The cottage seems in need of a complete refurbishment. The walls in the dinning area have dirty marks and the carpet in generally grubby. The light fitting in the bedroom has a thick layer of dust and cobwebs hanging from it. The bedroom curtain are ill fitting and are thick with dust and cobwebs. The fridge door seal has mould around it. Equipment. No means of freezing food is provided and the cooking utensils are inadequate. Now we come to the major issue. At the rear of the cottage is what appears to be an industrial unit. ( see google maps) This is accessed via a driveway to the left of the cottage. This driveway is used by 3 different cars at all hours of the night starting at 1.30 ish and going through until 5.30. I don't know if its used in the day as we were out. On the plus side, the cottage has free wifi. To sum up, I think I can say its the worst cottage Ive ever stayed in. Both the owner an his agents clearly never inspect the cottage.

We are sorry you had a disappointing stay at the cottage. We have not been to the cottage so far this year, however it has always been clean although we accept it is not the most modern in terms of presentation. The owner does live on site and would have immediately looked to address these issues for you. We are discussing your points with the owner and thank you for bringing them to our attention.
