Once the music studio of Sir Edward Elgar between the years 1917 and 1922. Share the setting that was a source of musical inspiration to him.

Three double bedrooms and one single bedroom with an additional child's bed.

This cottage is a delightful gem hidden away in the woods. Relaxing and magical. It’s old and clunky at times but has personality and we loved it.

Unfortunately for our party, it rained every day of the week - The Studio is definitely a place for holidaying in warmer weather. I can certainly imagine that with some heat and sunshine it would be lovely to sit outside on the wooden decks or down by the summerhouse. In the spring and summer the grounds would be lovely - but this was not the case for us. The wooden decking was slippery - and certainly we wouldn't have gone onto the upstairs balcony where the wood was rotten! Fortunately the Aga through out some welcome heat and was a joy to cook on - and I appreciated the various store-cupboard items on hand. So, a soggy stay for us - but that is not of course the fault of the owners!

The house is full of charm and feels like the residents have just gone out for a stroll because it's full of art, books and music. Kitchen is well-stocked for cooking and baking, and the barbeque set made a welcome change from the Aga. Beautiful location and lush garden allowed plenty of space to stretch out and relex without getting in each other's space. The second bathroom could benefit from some modernising but the seasonal spiders didn't seem to mind! Must have a car to overcome its relative remoteness.
In short, a lovely location that feels like a home, not an anonymous modern box.
