A luxurious property offering everything you could expect to make your stay a memorable and pleasurable experience. The location is totally peaceful with wonderful Devon views over farmland, stretching to Dartmoor in the distance. The house is a pleasure too, that exceeded all our expectations, luxuriously fitted throughout with very comfortable beds, well appointed bathrooms, wonderful living room, well appointed kitchen etc etc. We have already booked our return visit.
Gitcombe is in the most stunning location, it's beautiful, tranquil and immediately makes you feel that you are on holiday somewhere special. The Coach House was well equipped for both of our children, 7 months and 4 years old, and was still luxurious yet homely. The facilities were fantastic, our eldest child loved the playground (which was amazing) and the tennis/basketball court. The swimming pool was also enjoyed by all of us. Thoughtful extras were what really set Gitcombe apart for us, including the toy shed which had everything possible to be used freely by guests. Finally, Peter and ...more
Thank you for a wonderful stay in Gitcombe house. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the house beautifully decorated and furnished and we loved the indoor pool and tennis court.
We loved staying at Gitcombe house. It is the perfect of both world in terms of location between countryside and seaside. The facilities are just amazing with indoor swimming pool, sauna and soft play area, jaccuzzi outside with stunning views, tennis court and playground. The kids loved it and parents too as you can definitely relax there. It is very welcoming and the scenery grabs you even before arriving just with the narrow country lanes. It is gorgeous and we had a fantastic time with the sun shining for 4 days on top of it!! Beautiful!
Perfect short break for 3 generations! Idyllically situated.Lots to do for 3 and 5 year olds and good walks for grandpa.
this is our 5th visit so fair to say we love the location and the children always meet friends (many also returners) to have fun with. Our first time in Haytor, the bedrooms were good but the living room was a bit cramped and the heating in the en-suit didn't work so was rather chilly. Otherwise nothing to fault, we love it!
Comfortable, well equipped and great facilities for families. We had a lovely holiday there and would go again.
Set in idyllic countryside. Walked each morning from the property. We were left to ourselves which suited us but received text messages offering assistance if required. We met Peter O'Brien in the grounds on a few occasions and he was very friendly and helpful. The accommodation is of a high standard. Very clean and comfortable. Peaceful. Splendid views from all windows. I used the pool and hot tub every evening and was mostly the only one there (first week in May). We travelled each day to our chosen activities; beaches, Nat Trust properties, boat rides, shopping. A lovely break. Would defin...more
