Ideally suited for exploring the island. Short walk to the beautiful Kiloran Bay. Apartment is clean and well presented and has plenty of space.

Make sure to explore the Colonsay House Gardens and surrounding woodland!

We had a wonderful family holiday on Colonsaty - the location of Pig's Paradise is excellent and the accommodation was great.
The staff were first class, and made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed.

Pigs Paradise has a feeling of grandeur about it and is very spacious. I was a bit worried about booking it for a family including a number of boisterous children but was assured that the rooms below would not be occupied. I hope this was true as the 6 young cousins were indeed rather noisy!

We found a haven of peace and tranquility amongst beautiful gardens and close to a deserted beach that would rival anywhere for its stunning location and views.
The apartment was charming and the staff were friendly and helpful, both during the booking process and while we were there.
First time on Colonsay but we are already planning to return and we will be booking this apartment again. Well deserving of the five star rating.

Had a lift from ferry as arranged.Apartment was very comfortable and warm on arrival and so well equipped.All staff were very helpful and friendly.The views into the gardens was a joy to behold!
Just one suggestion !We arrived on foot,we brought shopping but ran out of milk,even if we had a car the shop has restricted opening hours and involves a 2 mile walk.Perhaps an honesty fridge with milk would help guests.
Many properties we have stayed in supply a welcome pack with a few essentials,this would have been a lovely gesture.
This Island will hold a special place in your heart,the corncrakes call,woods and flowers in Spring,beaches hills and crags.Everyone we met was so friendly and welcoming.

We placed a few stones in the whale,so we left something of ourselves behind forever!

Lovely location in Colonsay House.
All facilities OK, more soap and toilet paper supplied would be welcome.
Had to put sheets on beds ourselves which was a bit of drag as we arrived late in the evening.
System of adding on electricity charges after stay felt a bit unfriendly.
Although we understand the reasons for doing it.
It's not nice to be billed again!
Would be better to include in price for stay.
Some beds very old fashioned which we didn't mind. But might not be to everyone's taste.

Staff we met in the garden cafe were absolutely lovely and very welcoming.
Beautiful gardens.

Comfortable and spacious first floor apartment on Colonsay within easy walking distance of the excellent beach at Kiloran Bay and the adjacent meadows with Corncrakes. Kitchen was well equipped but decor and furnishings in the rest of the apartment were a bit tired, although comfortable enough. It was a bit of a trek from the car park to the apartment with luggage. A bit difficult for us to judge value as there was only a 3 bed apartment available for the dates we wanted. It seems difficult to find accommodation on the island in the summer. The gardens around the house are lovely but only open Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

I would highly recommend the walk over the Strand to Oronsay at low tide.

It's worth mentioning that we were delayed 30 hours in reaching Colonsay from Islay due to CalMac issues and so we had to go back to Kennacraig, stay overnight and drive to Oban the following day, so we missed a day and a half on Colonsay.

A lovely apartment - bright, airy & full of period charm & character. Surprisingly spacious (other than the kitchen which is quite small but well equipped.) Great views from the apartment across the lovely garden & we enjoyed sitting on the gardens in the evening on to eat. Fantastic position for exploring Kiloran Bay & surrounds

Being weathered- in unexpectedly we were very lucky to find this flat. Having flown in ourselves we had no mode of transport but the extremely helpful and kind owners collected us and we stayed in this special place within beautiful gardens.

Just back from a short stay with our family at Pigs Paradise apartment in Colonsay House. A lovely place to stay with south facing windows overlooking the garden. All very comfortable and spacious and well equipped. Thanks to Katie and her team at Colonsay Estate.

We were very impressed with our accommodation at Pigs Paradise Apartment within Colonsay House. Spacious bedrooms, comfortable beds, well equipped and beautiful surroundings. We loved the coal fire and use of free wellies!

I last visited the island 34 years ago to work at Colonsay House; to stay in Pig's Paradise was a treat...
Kitchen was well equipped, bathroom as I expected, open fire lovely to have (& necessary).
Just my husband & me stayed so, there was plenty of room & the views out over the beautiful garden were lovely.
Staying on an island as beautiful and unique as Colonsay is a privilege & visitors have to allow for how remote it is.
Hope to return one day (post Covid) with more family members .

Das geschmackvolle Apartment bietet alles, was man für 6 Personen braucht! Nachdem wir unsere Fähre verpasst hatten, durften wir spontan das Apartment übernehmen. Das Ambiente, die Menschen- alles trägt dazu bei, sich einfach nur wohl und gut aufgehoben zu fühlen.
Wenn wir nach Colonsay reisen, werden wir auf jeden Fall wieder hier buchen!!! ♥️

The family were delighted to be back staying in Pigs Paradise, our favourite of the Colonsay House flats. Very comfortable, charmingly furnished, with lovely views of the garden and such a cosy fire - even though the weather was so sunny that a fire was barely needed! Another wonderful visit to this paradise island. Pity not to be given sheets and towels this year, but hope service will be resumed next time.

Pigs Paradise is very spacious and comfortable. It has a modern kitchen which opens on to a comfortable living room. The bedrooms are a good size, with old furniture. It has no TV, no radio and no clock.



Excellent self catering accommodation. All facilities were very good including kitchen, and shower.

There was a party of 30 of us having booked ALL the Estate accommodation for the weekend. All reports were excellent except for the cabins as toileting and kitchen were not in the accommodation block. However this was accounted for in price.

All in all as the leader of the group everything about the accommodation and facilities was far, far better than expected.

We come every year and intend to come again. We get a good welcome and the ability to take several flats for the whole family is great. Pigs is the ideal nucleus for the group of flats that we take every year. We have to say that Pigs is the best of the flats,one reason being the heating arrangements which work OK in the other flats but are a constant slight preoccupation, but we are very well content with the whole group..
Value for money was good at Easter which is when we were writing the review for.

We absolutely loved Pigs Paradise. Warm, full of character, large rooms and we'll equipped kitchen. Really close to the woodland gardens and kiloran bay for wonderful walks every day. Highly recommend Colonsay house as a base on the island. We will be back!

Arrived to a warm toasty flat with lovely antique bits and pieces, views of the garden from every room and a charming rooftop view from the kitchen. Everything was immaculate:the kitchen furnished with enough for a dinner party of friends. So enjoyed our stay we hope to be back next year.

If the flat could have done with a scrub round the edges - basics all clean enough but too many cobwebs and dusty edges to feel homely. Amazing location, garden and peaceful place.

This is a lovely flat for a winter early spring break because it is located in the shelter of Colonsay House woodland gardens - which are truly magnificent in a wild and untamed way - and is light and sunny. The apartment has beautiful views from every room and is filled with quirky Victorian furniture as well as comfortable modern sofas. The central heating was also very welcome, as was the open fire, in March. Great flat, great location, we'll be back!

Very comfortable and well equipped apartment in Colonsay House. Very spacious with views over the beautiful gardens from every room. We loved the sunny, south facing aspect - sun streaming in all day (when it shone!). The gardens you can see from the apartment are only open to the public twice a week but there are acres of woodland garden that are open to everyone all the time. We enjoyed daily walks in the woodland. The location is perfect for walking or cycling to Kiloran Bay (one of the world's best beaches!) which is 10 mins on a bike, 15 mins on foot. The estate office is located at Colonsay House so it is really easy to get local help and information, everyone is friendly and helpful.
