Really impressed by this resort. Staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The site is very different from other resorts in having used lots of existing buildings to create apartments. There were so many on site facilities - impressive. Also the level of equipment in the apartment was excellent. Food processor, scales, books and games etc. Scenery is amazing and all around you. Beautiful place to go.
This was our first time at Melfort Village. The setting was beautiful and the surroundings peaceful. The reception staff were so welcoming and helpful. We hired the garden cottage and it was great. Comfortable and clean with plenty of room. We loved our time at Melfort and there was so much to do. Will definitely be back!
Old Haybarn is centrally placed and has easy access to the facilities of the village. The cottage layout works very well - the kitchen is light and bright and the upstairs sitting room is cosy with the wood panelling and log burner. Good sized bedrooms and bathrooms - would recommend!
We had a fantastic long weekend break, plenty of places for walking our wee Jack Russell, on site swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, restaurant & food, bar, all staff....all fantastic. Our cottage was cosy with a real log fire and beds we so comfortable....we will be back for sure.
Very pleasant cottage. Cosy and warm, enjoyed having log burner on but not essential for heat. On-site restaurant pleasant and welcoming, good food, reasonable priced. Music night on Monday evening well worth attending, local musicians as well as some regular holiday makers playing and singing folk songs. Located in quiet area, good for walking with our dogs.
The property was rented to use on a "bed and breakfast" basis as we were spending most of our time with friends in another Melfort property. The accommodation was excellent: a spacious kitchen/dining area which could be divided from the living room with sliding doors; a reasonably sized living room; 2 generous bedrooms; an upstairs bathroom and a downstairs shower room. Altogether, a very comfortably sized and equipped 2 bedroom unit. The only criticism concerns the usage/cost of electricity. As we were only spending limited periods of time in the house and were only using 1 bedroom, signif...more
Melfort Village and the Walled Garden properties in particular are in the most beautiful setting. We have been holidaying there for 10 years. The only negative is the extortionate cost of electricity for a week's stay which does need to be changed. We paid £85 for one week's electricity in March and we didn't use the fire or electric towel radiators. With that sorted the holiday would be good value.
Stayed in Farm Cottage 3. Very spacious well equipped cottage. Top quality fixtures and fittings. Loved the open fire. Kindling, coal and logs readily available to buy at reception. All staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful. Lovely meal at Shower of Herring restaurant on site. Great music night with local musicians again in the Shower of Herring . We loved our holiday in Melfort Village. A peaceful and beautiful setting. Home with batteries recharged! Hope it won’t be too long till we return!
A comfortable home-from-home, with all the amenities one could need. I stayed in this property several years ago, but it's been upgraded since then. The en-suite shower-room (with its pocket door) is a masterful use of space, and, I'm sure, very useful when there is full occupancy. I usually visit here in Autumn, so it was a pleasure to see Melfort Village and the surrounding area in a different season. The warm weather meant I could profit from the outdoor seating on the balcony, another nice touch. It's always a pleasure to go to Melfort at any time of the year with friendly staff, ...more
We stayed for 3 nights at the start of April with our 6 and 2.5 year olds. The Walled Garden cottage had 2 bedrooms so not wanting to disturb our 6 year old we put our 2.5 year old to sleep in the mezzanine area with the sofa bed - this was fine in early Apri but will be tricky as the summer comes since there is 3 skylights in the property which have no blinds and the light would keep her awake. Overall we had a good time, the kids enjoyed playing in the park and in the swimming pool - the toys left at the side of the pool were a big hit. We felt a little let down by the restaurant, it was onl...more
Had a wonderful week in melfort village location was great beautiful cottage with log burning stove perfect for winter evenings and great facilities on site would definitely return !!

We enjoyed a short stay at Melfort well placed to visit the islands and surrounding countryside. Excellent facilities and staff made the stay wonderful. Hope to return soon. Big tanks to Olwen for great info.
I first came to Melfort as a toddler and am now bringing my own children here. Wonderful location, great accommodation, very friendly staff and excellent facilities - a real haven and a great family holiday. We had another fabulous week here this year and are already looking forward to our next visit.
Been an owner and visitor to Melfort for many years, but have always looked longingly at these beautiful cottages simply for their isolation and the superb views they have over the huge sea loch of Melfort. We were also very lucky that we had a mostly dry week and the sun shone for us (albeit rather chilly). The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed with 2 new beautiful bathrooms ( one on each level, perfect) A fantastic farmhouse kitchen And 3 big bedrooms. ( the third of which had two full size set of bunk beds) A huge back and side garden was ideal for dogs and young chil...more
What a lovely place, staff, accommodation all exceptional. Very relaxing time we had but there is plenty to do. Walks, swimming, games room, tennis, putting (when the weather picks up). Lovely meals at the Shower of Herring. Can’t really go wrong.. We will definitely return.
We had a lovely short break in April , staying in Weighbridge Cottage . This is a charming wee cottage which was lovely and cosy once we got the log fire burning . As we have a wee dog it's proximity to the paddock was handy and having its own garden an advantage. As we are an elderly couple we would have preferred a walk in shower rather than a shower over the bath but that was the only negative point for us .
Melfort Village a great location for visiting many interesting places - Crinan, Tayvallich, Tarbert, etc House had a great lochside view and we.were very impressed with customer service - caring and thorough.
we will look out for another deal as it was such good value. this is a lovely part of Argyll and you have a lovely view of the loch from the house.
Lovely area for walks, boat trips and drives. The resort has everything you need and good for families.
This was a most enjoyable three night stay in a spotless and extremely well equipped cosy cottage. Staff are very helpful and the onsite facilities great. The shop has very reasonable prices. Wi fi excellent. We shall return
An excellent news cottage with beautiful views lots to visit in the area staff very friendly and helpful and an excellent restaurant
Melfort Village is in a beautiful part of Scotland and for self caterers all supermarkets are available in Oban just 25 mins away. For Diamond Resorts customers it is the perfect place to holiday with your dogs as extensive and secure dogs play area on-site and many walks including a loch for swimming just 20 mins walk away. The walled garden is perhaps getting a little tatty round the edges due to its age but a coat of paint would soon bring this up to standard. Electricity needs to be paid extra and the night storage heaters are not efficient but these are the only down points.
Stayed for 2 nights in coachmans east cottage, tranquil and well equipped. Shower of Herring restaurant was good, and Kat and her team do an excellent job.
This place is amazing. It's beautiful and quaint. The lodge we stayed in had 3 bedrooms and a fold out sofa, 2 bathrooms, a gorgeous huge kitchen and lots of place to sit outside. Very comfy beds and extraordinarily fluffy towels. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to check out the pool or gym. There are lovely walks to go on around the property. We were a family group of 7, and this was perfect. One slight issue was check in. The office closes at 5 pm and we arrived shortly after that. There was a notice on the office door about where to obtain the keys. They were in a coded safe around th...more
We visited for Mums birthday in March there were 4 of us plus one dog. The accommodation was lovely and comfortable and not too far from the main buildings. I visited the pool two mornings and really enjoyed the facilities. It is a great base for exploring the West of Scotland with some beautiful scenery . We had a takeaway from the restaurant and it was delicious and well worth a try.
Everything in cottage and village is superb. Highly recommend cottage for couple or small family. We will return!
We had a fantastic stay at Melfort Village. So surprised at the level of quality of the cottage, it had everything you could possibly need, with a list of additional items if needed, like hair straighteners etc. The amount of entertainment facilities was exceptional, loads to keep adults and kids and dogs! occupied. Staff were so helpful and warming.
We enjoyed our stay at Melfort Village all the staff were great, friendly and very helpful, we had a problem with the heating which was dealt with without delay. We found the cottage cold but the weather on the week we were there was awful, the heating bill at the end of our stay was very expensive but they are in the process of upgrading the old storage heaters.
This was our fourth stay at Melfort Village and, like the previous 3 visits, it was superb. Over the years we have exchanged into very many timeshare properties all round the world and this is, by some distance, the best of them all. The units are excellent, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the area is beautiful.
As always Melfort Village proved a big hit again. Stayed in a different cottage as there was more of us and also took over another cottage for two nights. Scattered my husbands ashes and planted a tree/bench in his memory. Everything was perfect.. The company the views the family Scottish music and even the weather. Melfort Club was brilliant very helpful lovely and kind to all of us throuout our stay. Thankyou everyone
Very comfortable and spotlessly clean 2 storey mews apartment. We were at the end so had the added bonus of extra windows which gave so much more light. Velux windows on the roof also make the living area very bright. Fully equipped open plan kitchen including cleaning materials and bin bags. Ate 2 nights at the Shower of Herring restaurant on site, the food was very good as was the host Kat. All the staff at the village were most helpful and also provided a shower seat for my elderly mum. we will be back
