We had a fabulous stay in Lower Cooperage. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We had booked another property and Margaret actually contacted us shortly afterwards and suggested that Lower Cooperage might be more suitable as our son was on crutches following a skiing injury. Olwyn welcomed us and made us feel really special. A fantastic place to chill but also plenty of things to visit on the area. The quality of the property was excellent and the crockery Denby was delightful and plenty of it. A truly fantastic break. We will be back !
This was our first time at Melfort Village. The setting was beautiful and the surroundings peaceful. The reception staff were so welcoming and helpful. We hired the garden cottage and it was great. Comfortable and clean with plenty of room. We loved our time at Melfort and there was so much to do. Will definitely be back!
Old Haybarn is centrally placed and has easy access to the facilities of the village. The cottage layout works very well - the kitchen is light and bright and the upstairs sitting room is cosy with the wood panelling and log burner. Good sized bedrooms and bathrooms - would recommend!
Great location for a fantasic holiday. Had to pay for our dog and electric at the end of the holiday, this wasn't made totally clear on the pre-booking description but other than that, we were very happy.
Probably our favourite cottage in Melfort Village. Two large bedrooms and two bathrooms and a very well equipped kitchen. Open plan living space and fabulous views across the hills. Great proximity to the facilities but also nice and quiet. Would thoroughly recommend.
We extended our stay in Melfort village and were rewarded with beautiful weather. Upper Cooperage is a lovely comfortable apartment which now has an ensuite shower room as well as main bathroom. Everything we need is provided and the village is so peaceful and relaxing. All the staff are welcoming & helpful & the Monday music night was great fun. Recommend a stay here.
We have been to Melfort for nearly 25 years now, Twenty years as owners. So thought we would add an extra week to our usual holiday. It’s surprising just how much we have missed in the past. Found many new places to visit. Weather good, only one problem....the midges!! They really did not like me this year. But not to worry plenty. Of ideas, and advice from staff in reception. Melfort is simply heaven on earth. Fabulous scenery, beautiful well equipped cosy cottages, with facilities for all the family...kiddies play areas (both indoors and out, swimming pool, gym. Paddock and toys f...more
Beautiful setting well equipped cottage very helpful staff. The only gripe was the cottage smelt of wet dog!!
Having stayed at Melfort Village previously (but always in November), this stay in the spacious Beechwood House had the added benefit of longer days and better weather which added to the memories. The staff were great as usual, always helpful and informative. We used the swimming pool and Gunpowder Room facilities when we weren't out walking and exploring the glorious surrounding scenery. The views from the house were outstanding. Also, the fact that our dog was welcome made the stay more relaxing
We were part of a party of 16 family members we had dog with us the cottage had a musty smell think it had not been used for a while didn’t spend much time in cottage all other facilities were great think next time will go for different type cottage
We had a fantastic fortnight first at Walled Garden 11 and then Walled Garden 9. Both were immaculately clean on arrival. We have stayed at Melfort Village for many years and always have a great time and find something new to do we haven't done before. Hired the kids some bikes which was great, plenty of tennis and swimming. Wonderful massages and treatments from the lovely Annie and excellent friendly help and warm welcome from all of the staff in the reception who go out of their way to help! Had a brilliant day visit to nearby Easdale Island where our teenage kids enjoyed some wild swimming...more
Absolutely great cottage was large enough for all 16 of family to party lots of space all amenities were great will return
A wonderful place for a relaxing break. Staff are friendly and very helpful. A great place to take your four-legged member of the family! The restaurant is excellent too. We enjoyed it so much that when we checked out,we booked for next year!
Melfort Village provided us with accommodation suitable for our group of 6 adults, 2 babies and 2 dogs. The area was good for exercising the dogs although accessing the 'beach' in the bay is not as easy as the site info suggests. The Mews accommodation was well equipped and cots and stair-gates were provided as requested. We didn't dine in the on-site restaurant but we did order a substantial carry-out dinner which was very good. On the one day when the weather was poor we had an eying meal in the nearby Loch Melfort Hotel which was also very good. The swimming pool etc was a bonus especia...more
Nice property in nice location We have now stayed in Walled Garden 10,6 and 2.and feel that the fridge/freezer is not big enough. An ideal place for a new large fridge/freezer would be in the broom cupboard on the left side of the cooker. We are both looking forward to staying in Melfort Village again next year.
Been an owner and visitor to Melfort for many years, but have always looked longingly at these beautiful cottages simply for their isolation and the superb views they have over the huge sea loch of Melfort. We were also very lucky that we had a mostly dry week and the sun shone for us (albeit rather chilly). The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed with 2 new beautiful bathrooms ( one on each level, perfect) A fantastic farmhouse kitchen And 3 big bedrooms. ( the third of which had two full size set of bunk beds) A huge back and side garden was ideal for dogs and young chil...more
Amazing week in an excellent location. Stayed with 5 adults and 4 children and all had a great time. Perfect to enjoy the outdoors and cosy evenings.
we will look out for another deal as it was such good value. this is a lovely part of Argyll and you have a lovely view of the loch from the house.
An excellent news cottage with beautiful views lots to visit in the area staff very friendly and helpful and an excellent restaurant
Stables East is a comfortable cottage and well equipped. Staff at Melfort Village were helpful. Swimming Pool and Games Rooms were great for kids on wet days.
Was a great cottage plenty space all mod cons only thing that was at fault some of bedsheets had smoky smell
Perfect location, very calm. The "house" was very comfortable, with plenty of space. Unfortunately, we did not have the chance to test the Shower of Herring Restaurant. We wish we could have stayed longer.
Loved the cottage and village, everyone we met was very friendly, the woman in the reception gives everyone a great welcome, will definitely be back next year.
A truly beautiful location and all staff were very friendly and informative and pointed out a number of local attractions that we would otherwise have missed. The lodge was well laid out and the kitchen had everything you could need, and the beds were very comfortable. However some of the carpets are starting to show their age and maybe consideration should be given to looking into this. Would definitely stay there again.
We visited for Mums birthday in March there were 4 of us plus one dog. The accommodation was lovely and comfortable and not too far from the main buildings. I visited the pool two mornings and really enjoyed the facilities. It is a great base for exploring the West of Scotland with some beautiful scenery . We had a takeaway from the restaurant and it was delicious and well worth a try.
Yet again we had a fantastic few days at Melfort Village. The views were scintillating and standard of accommodation keeps improving.
The resort is very well designed and maintained. The only reason I was not more enthusiastic is because I have osteoarthritis in bot hips and struggle with walking now and especially steps. ( I have now had one hip replaced.) The staff did say they would have tried to find an alternate cottage if they had known earlier, but is was an exchange and I was not that bad when the exchange was made. We love these places where we can take the dog , it is a great area for dog walking and eating out. Because I couldn't do much else I really enjoyed the putting green despite it being fairly rough, a...more
Our second visit and definitely don’t regret coming back. Beautiful location, wonderful accommodation and onsite facilities. Staff are so friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay a great one. Particularly enjoyed our meal at The Lord of the Isles, great food and customer service. We also ate onsite which was lovely too. Melfort Village is beautifully kept and a excellent place to go with children and your four legged friend. We would love to return again in the future.
Stayed for 5 days in July. Felt our accommodation was a bit tired looking and definitely in need of upgrading, especially shower. Very quiet location with good facilities on site. We ate in the restaurant one night but can’t say we were impressed with the food, lady that runs it is lovely though. Did day trips to Mull and other islands which was great.
We return year after year, can’t ever see that stopping, it’s just a magical location with wonderful cottages and top customer service.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay again. Accommodation is lovely and Melfort Village is in a beautiful part of Scotland.
We booked at the last minute fir 2 nights as we were delayed sailing to Isle of Barra due to bad weather. Melfort was perfect for us to relax and begin our holiday, the family loved the pool and we had a lovely walk. The cottage was great. Most important the staff were just so helpful, they could not do enough. We are already recommending to friends.
