Crannach is a spacious room with a 6’6” x 6’ cast iron bed. It has views of the castle lawns and the surrounding forest.

The bathroom is very spacious with a deep Victorian bath and a separate walk-in shower.

Beautiful place for a stop over on the Isle of mull, fantastic room, large bedroom and bathroom with super roll top bath. Breakfast was lovely, no evening meals but plenty of eating places in Tobermory. Lovely lounges to relax with a whisky or a game of pool, would highly recommend this place

Stayed two nights at this beautiful property and only wished I could have stayed longer. Grounds are lovely, with gardens and spectacular views of the countryside. My room was lovely and full of character, with a great claw foot soaking tub to take the edge off a long day. In the evening, you can sample the whisky bar by the fire in one of the many sitting rooms overlooking the sea.

The drive to the castle may be longer than you expect - be sure to map things first. But it's worth it!

We had a lovely short stay at Glengorm Castle. It was all we hoped it would be. The setting was stylish and the atmosphere very relaxed; we felt more like house guests than paying ones. The bedroom was as described with lovely comfy bed and lots of plump pillows; great bathroom with powerful shower; extra touches and the most delicious breakfast beautifully cooked with local produce.
A lovely holiday memory.

We stayed at Glengorm as part of a trip around the Hebrides and it’s fair to say it’s just excellent in every way. The welcome, the breakfasts, the packed lunches, the bed and bedding , the views and the sampling of whiskys in the evening! Couldn’t fault this accommodation in any way. Shame it’s not going to be opening in 2023

Our Glengorm experience was one of my life travel highlights. The castle itself is stunningly maintained and comfortable without being at all stuffy, the views and sunsets are to die for, the owners and staff are incredibly kind people, and the more than fair price means that regular people get to experience a little bit of heaven which might normally be reserved for the incredibly well off. I won’t say anything about the whisky lounge, other than that it was phenomenal. Thank you to Marjorie, Pam and the rest of the team for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful and comfortable castle, with good surrounding walks.
We cycled there a part of a tour and onwards down the negotiable forest path to Salen. It made for a great stop and we would have liked to stay longer.
The whisky library is impressive.

We had three nights in this room, we loved everything about it . The bed was very comfortable, the duvet light as a feather and warm , the pillows were so comfortable. We slept like babies . We loved the bath as we don’t have one at home . We didn’t pack bubble bath so we stopped off at the Mull soap shop and got bath bombs . Highly recommend you do the same . The staff and owners of the Castle were all friendly and helpful and lovely people. We are mostly vegetarian and found sufficient choices . Huge omelettes very tasty . We loved the fruit salad, fresh ingredients lots of berries, really delicious. The castle is an incredible place and the location is beautiful. It is 5 miles out of Tobermory and the road at night was a bit scary but we wouldn’t have swapped with our friends who were staying at a hotel in Tobermory. We loved our stay. We loved their candles too , trouble is It is difficult to choose just one . Our stay was relaxing and recharging just what we needed.
Thank you

Superbly comfortable, roaring log fires and best of all a marvellous range of Scotch whiskies to help yourself too. We stayed for three nights at the end of a ten day touring holiday and it was the best accommodation of the holiday.

My only disappointment at Glengorm Castle was the short length of my stay. We really did feel at home and in a very special home at that, with grand but not too grand rooms tastefully decorated with a light touch. We particularly enjoyed the informality: no locked doors, the whisky library, the lovely views and grounds, and last but not least, the friendly owners and staff.

They say a man's home is a castle and for this family and property, nothing could be further from the truth! Glengorm is obviously cared for and loved by the family who owns it! Our stay felt homey and cozy! Our room and bathroom were wonderful! The grounds and walks were just what we were hoping for in Scotland! We would love to spend more time there and will definitely be back!

Booked the castle for a treat after camping down in the south of the island, and when we arrived my expectations were exceeded. A lovely friendly welcome, and then...the art and decor was absolutely beautiful. The breakfast of smoked haddock and poached egg delightful, looking out to the Atlantic and the bed so comfortable. We loved relaxing in the roll-top bath and simply recharging our batteries in a wonderful environment. Highly recommended.

One of the nicest old houses we've ever stayed at - grand but not formal or pretentious. The feeling is one of having received an exclusive invitation to be a guest in a beautiful old house that feels like a home and not a hotel. The welcome is second to none and the views of the coast and the nearby walks are fantastic. The selection of complimentary whiskies in the drawing room overlooking the sea is.......rather distracting!

This was a return for us and we were thrilled to see the gracious and beautiful hotel and her lovely staff again.
Our room was immaculately clean. Glengorm gives lots of lovely touches - local soaps biscuits and a Nespresso machine make it very special. Breakfast was served with full attention to safety and was delicious, with local products just as we remembered. We particularly enjoyed our walks about the estate and lovely sunsets viewed from the library windows. The owners are friendly and stop by to catch up and talk.
We will return. Thank you Marjorie Tom Pam and all the friendly Glengorm team.

Although normally just a B&B, because of the restrictions on restaurants in Scotland, the owners were offering the most splendid three course dinners as well which we opted for on all three nights of our stay. The castle and its surroundings, indeed Mull in general, are delightful and relaxing places, just what we needed. We cannot recommend it highly enough. It had the real feel of both being grand and a family home, a remarkable combination. We certainly intend to return.

Fantastic stay at Glengorm. Lovely people - we were very much encouraged to make ourselves at home and relax - which we did. Lovely touches like the whisky library, fresh milk for tea and a packed lunch for your wildlife walk with Chloe, the estate’s very knowledgeable Ranger who showed us eagles and seals, and took us for an early morning walk to hear the stags rutting - make Glengorm a real treat. Drive past the Highland cows each morning on the way to explore the island, scallops for dinner in Tobermory then home to Glengorm for a roll top bath and a whisky. Highly recommend.

Staying at Glengorm Castle was excellent - would highly recommend. The location was very scenic and the views out to sea from the castle were superb. Very generous and delicious breakfast. The room we stayed in (Crannach) was very spacious, and we also enjoyed spending time in the communal areas.
Great location for wildlife and plenty of walks to do in the area.

Thw place was recommended by a friend friom France who spent time here for many vacations. We were very welcomed and felt at home. The view and the park around is beautiful and spectacular, the best breakfast ever made with all the attention by our host. The fire place was always on for us, it was hard to leave the castle! We ll come back asap.

Absolutely beautiful! What an amazing, superbly cared for, and comfortable castle. The location of the castle is just magical as is the whole interior of the place. The amenities were perfect; if you are a whiskey lover their complimentary bar was fantastic. All the staff were kind and very helpful. We had an amazing time and would definitely go back again :)

We returned to Glengorm because we enjoyed our first stay a few years ago and wanted to spend more time on the property. I was pleasantly surprised with the Crannach. The pictures on the website were different. It appeared that the room was renovated. Bathroom layout was excellent. The shower could have been a bit bigger to allow small shelves.

The staff was great - whether it was for breakfast or for housekeeping or during the day. The common areas were beautiful and perfectly situated to watch a spectacular sunset or to look at the animals grazing while enjoying a cuppa and toast with whisky marmalade.

The only thing to improve is their WiFi. I don’t think it is due to location because we stayed on another island and the WiFi there was very good.

A fantastic location overlooking the Atlantic, only a short drive from Tobermory. Very friendly helpful staff, great breakfasts and wonderful to be able to relax in a number of rooms downstairs. My husband especially enjoyed a dram or two in the whisky library at Sunset. Good walks available through the castle grounds.

We have stayed at Glengorm Castle about ten times now, and it is to us no other option in this part of Mull. We love to stay in this quiet corner with great possibilities og hiking on the moors of the estate. Unfortunately the Coffee Shop was closed both the days we spent at the castle this time. We had looked forward to go there for a Tea and some good food.

This is a wonderful location for a get away from it all break. The room and the public areas are everything you would expect from a castle used as a family home. It was warm and welcoming and being winter outside the log fires were lit adding more ambiance.
Breakfast was served in another log fired room, was relaxed most important was extremely tasty and well prepared. Special mention to the porridge and the black pudding. Being partial to a wee dram I was delighted to see a big range of Single Malts available in the library (Complimentary) Can't be bad.
The roads do take a bit of getting used to, single track with passing points but the biggest traffic jam was a heard of the estate's Highland Coos(cows).
Wonderful Location (although we did not manage to see a sunset due to the weather), wonderful host and we managed to relax
I do hope to return.

Glengorm castle is beautiful and very welcoming. We had a wonderful stay here and really enjoyed walking around the grounds, the complimentary whisky and lovely cooked breakfast. The atmosphere is both grand and cosy with luxurious rooms and fires in each main room looking onto picturesque views.

Our seventh visit over 35 years, but first time sampling B & B as a treat. Forgot to mention on booking that we required a gluten free diet, and the kitchen was unprepared, though they were sympathetic.
We enjoyed exploring the rooms and relaxing in the library with a dram of the local malt.
The wild wind howls in the chimney cowls bringing back very happy memories, we hope to return.
Thank you.

The room was clean and spacious with a bathroom bigger than our bedroom at home! The bed was comfy and the extra touches like the nespresso machine were a real bonus.

The Castle itself is beautiful and the common areas were so lovely we thought about cancelling dinner plans to stay in. Sadly we had only one night so didn’t get to make as much of it as we wished.

The only slight criticism was the commmunal table for breakfast in the morning as I’m not a fan of sharing first thing however the breakfast itself was fantastic and I will forever regret not buying some marmalade to take home

This was a wonderful stay during our honeymoon that we will forever remember and we look forward to returning on many more anniversaries in the future.

The room was perfect and the whole family was made very welcome. We would definitely visit again if we got the chance.
As well as a beautiful bedroom the public rooms were cosy and welcoming with stunning sea views.
It is quite off the beaten track but the estate was great to explore.
The two castle dogs were also very popular with our daughter

Glengorm is a truly magnificent location that provided everything that we could have wanted for or special family holiday gathering to celebrate our eldest son's fiftieth birthday. The castle offered great comfort that enabled us to relax straight away and enjoy every minute of our stay. Eating together in the breakfast room was a real pleasure which was enhanced by the lovely outlook. The views from all round he castle and its estate are unique and are very difficult to better anywhere on Mull. We were perhaps lucky to experience near perfect weather condition throughout our stay but I'm sure the visit would have been highly enjoyable with less clement conditions. The drive from the main road is longer than anticipated but the new tarmac has made the surface much more easily negotiated.

We had a wonderful 2 nights stay in Glengorm castle.
What we loved most was the view from the breakfast room and library (we could not have a room with sea view), directly over the sea and the surrounding lands with sheep...and sunset in the evening.
Great breakfast.
The room was nice and well decorated, comfortable king size bed, a really big bathroom with pretty bathtub. Thanks for providing a bedcot for our little girl.
Warm and friendly welcome from all the staff members.
Would highly recommend.

I literally have only one complaint about our stay at Glengorm - but honestly, we loved the place so much that we would easily go back again. Service was wonderful, our room was comfortable, the property was gorgeous, and breakfast was perfect. For anyone looking for a quiet place, I'd highly recommend Glengorm. (And if you do like to socialize, the library generally had people hanging out at night trying the whisky, so there's a chance to meet and chat with fellow travelers if you so desire. I'm easily overwhelmed by groups so didn't spend time with other people staying at the castle, but my husband did and enjoyed himself.) Oh - and the resident dogs are super sweet, too.

The Glengorm Castle is as beautiful as the photo on the website. It is in excellent state, the bedroom is big and so nicely decorated. The public spaces are extraordinary with the view on the sea. It is like traveling in time. The family is very nice and full of attentions. The breakfast was fantastic! We went for a walk in front on the castle near the sea and it was fabulous, lots of sheeps around us. I highly recommend this place and I will come back! Big thanks to the family!

I treated myself to a room here to relax after a crazy work period and it was EXACTLY what I needed. Big bath to soak in, a comfy bed to catch up on sleep and the most brilliant hospitality throughout my stay. Particularly loved the whisky library in the evening (perfect place to unwind with a book) and the hearty Scottish breakfast in the morning served by friendly staff. Stunning views too - make sure you leave some time to walk around the grounds before you go!

Glengorm Castle is a wonderful escape. We stayed in the Crannach room, which had a large bathroom with separate bath and shower. The little touches made a huge difference, we particularly loved the use of local products such as the Mull soap and the Island Bakery biscuits! Even though the castle itself is grand, we felt very much at home. Being whisky lovers, the complimentary whisky bar was wonderful and we managed to taste a few drams that we haven't yet come across in Wales. Breakfast was amazing - a vast choice - again using local produce and perfectly cooked. We were well looked after by the friendly owners and staff, who ensured that we had everything we needed to make the most of our stay, providing recommendations for daytime walks and evening dinners. We will definitely return .....

Everything was excellent. Only a couple of very minor points apart from this: Cleanliness excellent except for slight rim round bath but I think that's just age and it was a lovely bath. Inside of shower door needed a bit of a clean at the bottom. Some vegetarian options for the breakfast fry- up?
The 3 nights for the price of two was the deciding factor which made us book.
Particularly nice that Glengorm doesn't feel too corporate, makes for a much more relaxing stay. Your staff were excellent. Fires, whisky and choice of rooms to sit in take it to another level compared to like properties. Somewhere closer than Tobar Moire/Tobermory to have an evening meal would be the icing on the cake.
It would be good to see more information and products in and about Gaelic. A sweat shirt - Gleann Gorm?
Tapadh leibh.

Glengorm castle feels like home, because it is a home. Walking in through the front grand purple doors, you announce your presence with a bell, and are toured around the magical place. We particularly enjoyed the library, filled with books and interesting artifacts, AND a 16 bottle whisky collection that we were free to enjoy. Sitting by the open fire playing chess overlooking the ocean, was quite the treat. The breakfast was also superb... it was honestly a struggle to check-out and leave.

Our stay at Glengorm Castle was great! It is located down a single track road just a few miles from Tobermory. The location right on the water is stunning. So glad that we made it before dark as I wouldn’t want to make the drive at night. Just a few things that might help to know. The guest rooms are on the second floor, so plan on carrying your bags up a staircase. Also, the only issue we had was that we were told that the Castle doors are never locked and the guest rooms do not have keys, but do have a small latch that can only be used when you are in your room. Meaning that if you leave your room for a walk you cannot lock it while away. It’s nice to know that the owners feel safe enough to do this, but it was a little disconcerting to us. Make sure to eat dinner in town as there is no evening dining at the Castle. Breakfast is wonderful, however. Overall, we are glad to have visited Glengorm and the beautiful Isle of Mull!!

We spent 2 nights at Glengorm, we loved the tranquility of the place. The rooms are spacious and most comfortable. Breakfast is as good as you can find In Scotland. Complimentary selection of Malts in the library is a treat.
From the Castle you can go on spectacular walks and mountain bike rides, fishing at Loch Tor ( caught 2 browns).
Only 10 minute drive from Tobermory which is home to some excellent fine dining.
10 minutes from Tobermory/kilchoan ferry.
This place is a gem

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniersary whilst staying at the castle. The experience was fabulous from the moment we made our way along the single track road to the castle, to winding back down the track in the evening to dine in Tobermory.
When we arrived we were greeted by Jen who immediately made you feel at home in a friendly and professional way, and couldnt have been more helpful, infact all the staff we met at the castle provided a discreet warm and friendly service, when you needed something they were instantly there to help and assist. The atmosphere in the castle was simply gorgeous with amazing decor wonderful art work and sculptures everywhere making it simply a joy to be hold. Breakfast was always hearty and served in beautiful surroundings again, and the attention to detail from the team made the experience very enjoyable. We both said that we felt we were actually staying in a family home such was the feeling.
Our room was delightful if just a little bit tired in places, nothing major but we felt that it was time for the room to have a small revamp in certain areas, perhaps just a little less furniture in the room also would have given the room a more spacious feel, but these are only minor points and as we know over the years accomodation can start to need an update, but nothing I have mentioned spoilt the charm and character of the room in any way, but I hope you appreciate this feedback not in a negative way but in a way that would make the room and experience even better. We cant wait to return again it was a Fabulous stay thank you.

A fantastic tranquil location with stunning views. Nothing was a problem, very relaxed atmosphere and felt just like we were at home (ok, without the castle and the stunning views). Would recommend Glengorm to anyone.

We really enjoyed our one night stay at the Glengorm Castle. We stayed in the Crannach room, it was very nice with a huge bathroom with a claw foot tub. The dining room for breakfast is quite lovely and the breakfast was very good.

We had a comfortable room (and a huge bathroom) in an elegant property. The rooms were spotless and the breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. The staff was extremely helpful. Our room looked out over the lawn rather than the sea, but it was still a nice view. The only problem we had is that it took us 30 minutes to drive into Tobermory along single-track roads. That was a bit daunting for Americans who are used to city driving on the right-hand side.

We loved our stay at Glengorm Castle. Location is good about 20mins from Tobermory.
Pro: love the big bathroom space and views
- drink all you can whiskey for free. Didn't drink any though since I don't like the taste.
Con: breakfast is a bit slow so you have to start early if you have to catch a tour or ferry

Glengorm Castle is a striking building perched on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. The weather was sunny and clear affording us breathtaking views off the coast of Mull. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive to our needs and breakfast was a pleasurable experience. I would highly recommended a visit, although the weather helped make our stay more pleasurable.

Superb "special occasion" type bed and breakfast. I felt like I was stepping into Victorian style opulence without the formality that you might expect - a bit like Downton Abbey without having to dress! The location is superb and the Estate has successfully opened up to allow visitors to take advantage of the walking opportunities on its doorstep. There is a cafe/restaurant within the grounds which, £ for £, serves the best food on Mull. Tobermory is only 4 miles away, so that extends options as well. The staff are helpful without being obtrusive. The weather was excellent for our week but given that cannot be guaranteed in Scotland, Glengorm is not a ad place to be to watch the drizzle from inside - very relaxing.

I honestly cannot think of any negatives at all but what I would say is that it should be remembered Glengorm is a B&B, not a Hotel, so dont expect all the Hotel style add ons, its not what you are paying for. Also, there is no provision for evening meal so you either eat early at the in grounds cafe ( which shuts at 5pm) or have to make separate arrangements which probably involves a trip to Tobermory or beyond. In fact the only suggestion I could make to improve the Glengorm experience is that the management consider extend the opening hours of the cafe for an hour or even two if possible

We booked the castle stay so that we could experience accommodations that were new and exciting, and that is exactly what we got! The castle was absolutely gorgeous, fun, relaxing, and romantic. The staff were amazing and the scenery was out of this world. There was so much to explore and we had such an incredible time. I would stay at the castle again in a heartbeat!

The staff was very kind .

We stayed for two nights and had a lovely time. Beautiful castle with superb views. All the staff were very friendly and the feeling of relaxation in the comfy sofas, open fires and complementary whiskey was just what the doctor ordered! My only regret is that we should have been there longer - it was not long enough. Would definitely recommend and certainly would love to do again.

Glengorm is a very special place. A castle where you feel at home. More, there's spectacular walks right there, between the castle and the ocean. The whisky room is memorable, comfortable, with a stunning view. It's not exagerate to say that Glengorm castle is among the most beautiful places of the world.

My husband and I became excited as we drove the winding road from Tobermory and saw the top of the castle come into view. The woods had a quiet loveliness and as we drove up in front and saw the view of green hills and sea behind the castle complete with sheep and Highland cattle, the sun shining through the puffy clouds we were a bit of awe. The manager of the castle greeted us, took us around the inside and then led us to our room, which was spacious, light and handsome. The bathroom with the huge old fashion tub and separate steam shower, icing on the cake. That bathroom was bigger then some of the places we had stayed previously on our vacation, and that night we had a wonderful sleep in the comfortable king size bed. The grounds were amazing and varied, including standing stones, a phenomenon I thought I was going to miss on this particular trip, but there they were when we happened to take a walk towards the sea. The hospitality of the downstairs library and front room, with complimentary drams available of all kinds of scotch, and with a roaring fire, well . . . amazing, truly like being in a dream. The breakfast was delicious in the elegant dining room and we truly hated to leave. We loved loved loved our stay and will be back

Well what can I say - this is place is fabulous ! The room was wonderful , clean and beautifully furnished . The location is remote , but worth the drive , views are stunning . The staff can't do enough for you and the breakfast selection is wonderful . It's well worth a walk over to the Standing Stones and beyond to the coast , and then pay a visit to the coffee shop - food is excellent , all freshly prepared and the cakes - wow !! The complimentary whiskey was a hit with hubby , and you can snuggle in with the open fire and comfy sofa's . Will definitely be back , and one night is not enough - stayed two and wished we'd stayed three !! Can't recommend enough !!!

Lovely property in a wonderful location, I was very pleased that a TV / DVD player was provided, whilst there is a lot to do locally if the weather was poor & in the evenings this allowed us to relax & enjoy the room which was very comfortable, a good temperature and had the things we needed this allowed us to enjoy our stay particularly when the weather was bad. Lovely walks locally, Your coffee shop is also worth a mention as this is a lovely property and the service was excellent with a good choice on the menu.

Where to begin..... The amazing dining room where breakfast was served? Straight from Downton Abbey, with full Scottish breakfast made to order and marmalades made on the estate. The whiskey room, with 20+ of the finest Scottish whiskeys and layout of a old school gentlemen's club? The room itself, large and beautifully appointed, with bed and sheets that you would never want to get up from, or the truly palatial bathroom with a traditional bathtub (dark green! How fun!) right in the center. And then there are the grounds: the sprawling lawns invite you roll around like kids (we resisted). Don't get startled by the bunnies that very obviously call the grounds their home and pop in and out off manicured bushes. Last but not least: the people. Steven runs a tight yet relaxed ship and makes all guests feel at home. We hope to return soon!

Everything at Glengorm was wonderful; location and character of the building are amazing, staff were warm, relaxed, welcoming and friendly, the room and bathroom were well appointed, every aspect of the furnishings suited the nature and period of the building. Breakfast, served in the fantastic dining room, was delicious, and the equally special library room to which guests have access as an evening lounge was a great place to spend time in the evening and meet other guests. The castle lies within a large private estate and as guests here we were made to feel welcome to stretch our legs and freely explore a great opportunity in the right weather (which we enjoyed).

Though Glengorm was the most expensive place we stayed on this recent trip, I would also say that it was the best value for money and offered far more than a mere bed for the night. There is great attention to detail in every aspect of the running of this property, well done Glengorm Castle!

Spent two great nights at Glengorm, using it as a base to explore the Isle of Mull - only to find out that the island had so much more to offer, so we'll return for sure.
Next time with one of the rooms facing the ocean. Room size is generous, and the hall and library downstairs are just stunning. Excellent breakfast and very nice staff. The cafe in the old stables has a cheesecake that its worth going back for alone!

The room and the bathroom are beautiful, All the castle is great and beautiful!
The walk around the castle to the sea was amazing and as the weather was also perfect, we had a memorable sunset!!
There is no restaurant for dinner so we improvised a picnic in the library, with our host's help, and it was a royal picnic :-)
I will highly recommend this place, the best for us in Scotland so far!!

Had a great 4 nights stay. The place was everything we could have asked for.
We were looking for a unique place to stay that was a little seclude and Glengorm Castle was perfect.
The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very good and the complimentary whiskey selection was most appreciated.
The castle itself, along with the location, views and the grounds were fantastic.
I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone staying in the area.

A stay like in a fairytale. This is really an outstanding location with very nice people running it. The love for details blew us away!
Especially the stunning view from the library and the free standing bathtub.

Such a beautiful place to stay. The castle and property are both incredibly beautiful. We were made to feel like it was our home. Very relaxed. The furnishings are all very nice, but not too precious to make us feel like we had to be overly formal. We built fires in the library at night and had delicious breakfasts in the morning. A short 15 minute cab ride to Tobermory for dinner. Everything, including the caretaker and his wife was just lovely.

Sadly we stayed only for one night. Glengorm Castle is a beautiful lonestanding building near the sea. In the library there are comfortable seatings and you could taste different whiskys during the sun goes down. Wonderfull!!! Also our room Cranach was good and they have a focus on details( e.g. Handmirrow in silver). We love this.

As soon as we caught sight of the castle we were captivated, set amidst the most breathtaking scenery from manicured gardens through woodland, heath and coastline. The wildlife is amazing and the welcome was warm and inviting. The room was spotless and the bed immensely comfortable. Imagine relaxing in a claw foot, roll top bath while taking in the views of sparkling sea and emerald fields - awesome!
Breakfast was beautifully cooked, the café just around the corner serves amazing food and the complimentary whiskies were very much enjoyed. Immensely enjoyable thank you so much for providing such a perfect stay

We had a great time at Glengorm and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Let me focus my attention on three (minor) points which prevented me for giving you an excellent review.

1.the window rattled very badly in the wind and I had to spend a little time in putting shims in the frame[but this is an old house, so what should I expect ?]
2. the bed was faulty with the slats repeatedly falling to the ground. Surely, these could be screwed to the bedframe?
3. [a particular bugbear of mine as I dislike hotels who scrimp on the cheap components.] you were very grudging with the toast - always one slice of bread, always served last. Croissants, although on the menu, were never offered. Is it really going to break the bank to have a toaster in the dining room and some fresh bread?

A unique experience in a castle on the northwest coast of the Isle of Mull. The garden of the castle runs down to the sea and on the day we arrived was bathed in sunshine.

Hospitality in the castle is second to none and we were treated as "houseguests" from the start of our stay. We has full use of the sitting room and library with a choice of malt whiskeys we could help ourselves to gratis. The atmosphere was conducive to mingling and we found ourselves chatting freely with fellow guests in the library before dinner.

Our bedroom was spacious and beautifully furnished with a very large en suite bathroom and free standing bath.

I would recommend the castle to anyone looking for that bit of extra luxury in a stunning landscape.

What a wonderful place to stay - it is grand yet unpretentious. It was so lovely and refreshing to stay somewhere that hadn't been ' done up' and we loved the art on the walls, antiques, rugs and squashy sofas. My husband enjoyed the whiskey in the Library in the evening after dinner in Tobermory which is about 10 mins drive away down a very bumpy road. The surroundings and views out to sea and mountains are exceptional. It was so peaceful - no cars, just bird song. The cafe in the grounds had good snacks and cakes and everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. I am always very relieved when I arrive somewhere I've booked and it has lived up to my high expectations and Glengorm most certainly did.

This is a lovely place to stay. The rooms are very spacious and clean and the staff are very attentive. The castle is situated on a promontory at the end of a long narrow road north from Tobermory and the views and walks around are stunning.Well worth the extra drive away from civilisation. When we left on our final day, we stopped so many times to take photos, that we missed our ferry!

My sister and I came for two days to chill out and explore north Mull. It was a completely heavenly spot. We loved it so much - super places to walk, very close to Tobermory, and the castle itself was wonderful. We were left totally to our own devices - which we loved. Breakfast was scrummy, and best of all, they totally welcomed our pug, so we were all relaxed and very happy. Thank you so much!! We will definitely be back with husband/ boyfriends to make the most of the whiskey room.

A lovely place! We spent 5 very enjoyable days at Glengorm. The Castle and its setting would be hard to beat with beautiful walking. The breakfasts were excellent with friendly and efficient service, and the Coffee Shop a pleasant lunch stop. We had hoped for better advice on where to see wildlife. Good fish restaurants in Tobermory.

If you are questioning whether or not to stay here I would advise you to book it now! The setting and grounds are amazing and a wonderful once in a lifetime experience. We walked through hills, down to the ocean, past standing stones and saw Scottish cattle, sheep and goats up close! The bistro on site is accommodating for dinners (as well as lunch) so no need to go into town. Our bedroom was authentic with a very comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Breakfast is enormous and so delicious! The best oatmeal my daughter has ever tasted!

Only wish we could have spent more time at Glengorm. It's charming. The castle is a joy to stay in. Breakfast was wonderful and very good. Loved that it was in the dining room so we could watch the fog come in from the ocean. Spending the evening in the library with the scotch and view was a nice way to wind down. Crannach was a great room. Spacious with a nice bathroom. Bed was super comfy and big.

It would recommend this place to everyone. There is so much to do on the property. We really enjoyed walking through the fields with the cows and the sheep and finding beautiful views of the ocean. And the standing stones are quite amazing. Glengorm was a special end to our tour of Scotland and we already want to come back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Glengorm. The setting is stunning with lovely walking trails.
Breakfasts were delicious.
Although we are not whisky drinkers, the whisky parlour was spectacular.
There is no dinner served at Glengorm, which means a drive (about 15mins) to town for an evening meal. Generally, we prefer to leave the car and walk to a restaurant for dinner.

Having stayed at a fairly formal place, I think it is incorrect to be addressed in your email in an informal manner. I personally do not mind that much but I would certainly be more prepared to write a review if you had not be informal. I suspect I am not alone. A little bit of formality, initially, does no harm. It is not as if I know you. I think you would provide a much better service to your clients if you addressed their guests accordingly.

The castle and the room we stayed in was beautiful. The countryside and views are awesome.

My only complaint is that there was no one to let us into our room. We had left a message to indicate we would arrive after 7:00. We got there around 8:15 and no one was at the office. There was a concert being held and the room was filled with people there to listen to the concert. There was a lady that appeared to be in charge of the concert who tried to find someone from the hotel to help us. She even went around to the staff entrance to find someone. No one was on premise. We ended up waiting almost an hour before we were able to get into our room. After an exhausting day of travel, this was extremely disappointing.

We stayed at the Glengorn Castle with our son and daughter-in-law for two wonderful nights. The property is stunning with walking trails to the coast. Our rooms were luxurious and peaceful, you really had a sense of first class comfort with friendly and laid back service. The breakfast was made to order and delicious and in the evening after a day of exploring we enjoyed the company of other travelers and single malt whisky in the library. Glengorm was the highlight of our trip to Scotland.

Glengorm Castle is a uniquely wonderful place to stay on the Isle of Mull. The stately mansion is located on a hill overlooking the water, with rolling green hills dotted with sheep below. The sense of timeless elegance is preserved throughout. High ceilings; huge woodburning fireplaces; a library stocked with books, maps, and local whiskies; and huge comfortable bedrooms throughout. The staff is very helpful, but they also give you space to relax and treat the residence as your own. Hikes on the property yield a variety of cool discoveries- not the least of which is an ancient set of standing stones near the water. Food is excellent, but we wish a dinner menu was available- Tobermory is a fair drive away. We would love to return, and spend more than one night next time- there is so much to explore in the area. Highly recommended.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the castle. The location is delightful. The bedroom was charming and well appointed.
The bathroom looked stunning but it was rather a case of design over function ie lack of shelf space for guests' toiletries, difficult to avoid splashing water over the floor from both the central bath and the basin.

If you are heading to the isle of Mull, do yourself a favor and stay at Glengorm Castle. Never have I stayed in place so unspoilt and beautiful. The drive itself is extraordinary, but to wake up and walk the land to the ocean is almost magical.
Nothing to see but land, mountains, sea, sky, and sheep and cows. It is breathtaking and otherworldly.
A couple of practical tips:
Bring practical walking shoes that can get muddy!!!
Call to confirm your reservation. I made a reservation thru the webpage and they did not get it. Luckily they had a room after driving miles and miles to get there. The owner was very apologetic.
They do not cater, once you arrive and are greeted you are pretty much on your own, which is totally awesome.
If you like to be doted and waited on this is not for you. BUT the rooms are total luxury and top notch. They are huge and the baths are amazing with tons of hot water and good towels.
Eat lunch or dinner before you get there, and bring wine or beer or any snacking/food because they do not serve any food. They do serve breakfast in an amazing dining room with totally killer views, and it was the best breakfast of our whole trip.
All in all I will return, Stay more than one day to really get it. This is true Highland spirit, it is a working farm and these folks are lovely people. You will not regret it.

We enjoyed a wonderful two night stay at Glengorm. The castle and it's location is beautiful. We were very comfortable in Crannach; a fab room with a bath i wanted to take home with me!!! Although the castle is grand it does have a family / lived in atmosphere that we really liked. Heather made us feel very welcome & ensured we had everything we needed. Breakfast was substantial and really set us up for the day & it was wonderful to enjoy that whilst taking in the views of the grounds and the sea (which was very wild when we stayed). The complimentary whisky in the library is a lovely idea - one my husband particularly appreciated!!! Thanks so much. We would have no hesitation in recommending Glengorm!!

We stayed at Glengorm Castle (in Crannach) for 2 nights. The setting was excellent - a castle at the end of a single track road. The views were spectacular and the opportunities for walking/cycling were very good. The accomodation (Crannach) was also very good with a very comfortable room with an ensuite shower and bathroom (free standing bath!). The bedroom was warm however the bathroom could have been warmer. The breakfast was excellent in choice and quality. Staff were very friendly and courteous. This is a very special place. Would thoroughly recommend it but hope to keep it a secret as we intend to return.

Excellent experience

My husband, son and daughter-in-law recently spent a long weekend at Glengorm and we loved every minute of our time at the "castle." While it is a journey to get to the Isle of Mull and then on to Glengorm, it is more than worth it to experience the beauty of the island on this estate. Jaw-dropping views of the water and islands surrounded us from breakfast to after dinner drinks! It was painful to leave on Monday morning....

The home is as grand as the photos depict. We stayed in Crannach and the kids stayed in Torr with their Norwich terrier (This place is super friendly for dogs and ours thought he was "king of the castle" by the end of the first day!). The bedrooms were spot on -- roomy, comfy and cozy with down comforters for the chilly nights. The bathrooms were large and modern. Heated towel racks were a wonderful luxury! Crannach had both shower and footed tub. A late Sunday soak in the tub was perfect after a long hike to the Standing Stones and the Bathing Pools and homemade soup at the Coffee Shoppe.

The common areas were delightful as well. We spent a good amount of time in the Library with the fire and the whiskey bar. Plenty of room for guests to enjoy the mood of the home, imbibe in tastings and compare travel notes. The dining room had several tables for guests, all with superb views of the property. Breakfast was a hearty feast and prepared to order -- hot and tasty! Thanks, Heather, for taking such good care of us.

The nearby Coffee Shop has a nice art gallery filled with local artwork. The food in the Coffee Shop was well prepared, tasty and reasonably priced. Fresh food was available off a menu with daily specials and prepared/jarred/boxed food was available to take away as well.

The property is on 500 acres of farmland -- complete with highland cattle and sheep, as well as a huge walled garden. There are numerous trails to walk and to revel in the beauty of nature. We did not book a hiking tour in advance, instead just striking out on our own. The weather was perfect for outdoor walking -- sunny, misty and multiple rainbow sightings!

Glengorm does not provide dining in the evening; however, there are many noteworthy restaurants in Tobermory (about 15-20 drive -- be careful for cows on the one-lane road!). One night we did ask for permission to use the kitchen and cooked our own dinner on the Aga -- bringing back great childhood memories for my husband!

We took the Tobermory distillery tour, the Isle of Mull Cheese farm tour and stopped in a variety of shops in Tobermory one afternoon. However, the beauty of the Glengorm property and being in the Scotland weather was the highlight for us. We could not have had a more special weekend with the kids. Thanks to all who made the experience so grand -- we will be back!

we stayed for three nights but could happily have stayed three weeks! Lovely room with a lovely spacious bathroom. I booked Glengorm because it had a wildlife guide, and was not disappointed. A wildlife watchers paradise and with the wonderful Steph to help point you in the right directions! Did want to see an otter but needed more time to loiter on the beautiful coast and bays, which were within easy walking distance. Had a great morning seeing the stags in the rut. Thank you, I hope I will return to Glengorm!

We had a great stay at the castle. This is not a B&B by normal standards , after 5 pm there was no staff on duty and the owners were not engaging in any way. If you don't like to be bothered you will like this place. One night we were all alone for the entire night luckily we bought some snacks and drinks while we were out because there is nothing availible to eat with the exception of breakfast and nothing to drink unless you are a scotch drinker. Heather a staff member was extra friendly and made us felt really welcome , she is one of the highlights of the stay. Do your own reserch on your activities because there is no info or ideas there that we were shown. We would stay again , we thought the Isle was one of the most beautiful places we had ever been.

We had an amazing time in this beautiful Castle. The views are stunning and there is so much to discover. We went on a lovely walk down to the sea and the standing stones along the green meadows and the highland cattle. The rooms are really nice and with lots of detail. The sunset can be seen from the library with a complimentary Whisky from the Whisky bottle shelf as a sundowner. Breakfast was very tasty and everyone was really friendly and helpful.

To make it short, a dream came true. Stay in a castle is a great thing. Glengorm Castle lends itself to this perfectly. Picturesque location, great atmosphere and a very nice host family leave nothing to be desired. Definitely a recommendation worth.

We had a great stay at Glengorm Castle. The Castle and the rest of the property are really magnificent. The view from the library and breakfast room is stunning.
Breakfast was delicious and the staff is attentionate and careful.
The Crannach room is spacious, with a very confortable king size bed. And the bathroom is amazing with the old tub.

The castle itself is quite charming, and the views (and breakfast) are extremely good, but the private single-track that leads up to it is not for the inexperienced -- I was driving a larger car and felt quite nervous on some of the switchbacks as they are quite close to a steep incline. I'd recommend it for someone who wanted a quiet few days away, but I don't think it would make a good base to explore Mull for someone like me, who is an older driver from North America. The lack of a lock on our bedroom door also made me a bit nervous.

If you want to feel as if you are staying at home, and a grand home at that, then stay at Glengorm castle. Its comfortable and quiet, no pressure from hotel assistants, but it is 20 minutes to the nearest dinner. If that doesnt worry you, and it didn't us, then this is a fabulous place to stay (ps a complimentary whisky bar!)

A fantastic location but you do need to realise that it is quite isolated and nowhere near for an evening meal. Not an easy drive late at night from Tobermory and certainly not a drive to be taken after a couple of drinks. However there is plenty of whisky waiting for you in the Glengorm library! Amazing sunsets and very friendly owners.

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful building set in the most glorious countryside. The room was very spacious and comfortable and so was the en-suite bathroom.
Breakfast was served in a lovely room with stunning views. However, the service was not up the standard for the price paid There was a long wait for food to be served and the staff got the simple order wrong) and the food was at best average.

We were a large group of 15 adults and 8 kids (aged from 7 - 15). Between us we occupied all five B&B rooms in the castle, the Terrace Flat, Sorne Cottages, Dunara and The Steadings. We had a glorious week. Pam MacColl at Glengorm was extremely helpful and efficient in organising our stay. Owners Tom and Marjorie Nelson were wonderfully welcoming, and, despite their own hectic schedules, exude an air of laidback calm. It clearly matters to them that guests enjoy themselves. They are fantastic hosts.

Crannach was immaculately clean, with crisp linen and a bright, airy bathroom. Lovely views of the garden and, if you look out early enough - or late enough - rabbits. Sumptuous breakfasts in the dining room, with stunning views of the Atlantic and Ardnamurchan Point.

The drive into 'town' is fifteen glorious minutes, in which you are frequently rewarded with sightings of deer and eagles.

My ninth visit now - and still my favourite spot on earth.

I may have stayed only two days, but they were the best two days I have had in a long time, the isle of Mull itself is a wonderful place in itself but the addition of staying at Glengorm Castle made the trip extra special, next time will be longer

A castle with stunning views, great walks, sea otters, seals, deer, hares and eagles. Log fires, library with wide range of complimentary whisky and decent breakfasts. It's windy, drafty, smells of woodsmoke and all the things you expect of a castle in the Highlands. Excellent.
