We wanted to take our dogs down to see our son at university for his birthday. Clyne Farm is the most EXCELLENT place for this. Direct access to Clyne Common, 5 minutes to the university and 5 minutes to the great expanse of beach. We found other secluded beaches and walks as well. We had a fabulous time, made easy by having a cottage that understands having dogs - especially in the wet! Warm and cosy. Would certainly re-book and would be our preferred "go to" place.
The cottage was lovely, well equipped and cosy. We loved the welcome pack for us and our dog, especially the milk and Welsh cakes. The bedrooms were lovely. The Clyne centre is perfect for Swansea and the Mumbles which is a lovely area with pier and shops and restaurants. The beaches in the area are beautiful. It was actually lovely and quiet on the farm and was so nice to be near all the animals, especially Piggy and Ted. The views were stunning from the Hayloft cottage. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Five friends and I had a thoroughly enjoyable and unforgettable experience. The welcome was warm and provided by Alan who clearly know much about Dylan, his family and the history of the house. The attention to detail and information in each room was excellent. To have the opportunity to soak up 'the vibe' of this unique property was amazing. Thank you Geoff and his team for maintaining this living museum, the experience was hugely enjoyed by all.
A good base for exploring the Gower for walkers, cyclists, rock climbers or similar. Sometimes saying less is better than saying more but in the case the computer didn't allow me to submit the review unless I added more words - thats the only reason I've added this last sentence!
The staff were very good and pleasant to talk with. There were some nice touches on arrival such as a toy and cleaning cloth for the dog and the welsh cakes for the humans. The location is great. The views at night of the surrounding area are a real feature. Although it had a homely feel, the accommodation itself needs to be updated to current standards and expectations. The fixtures are tired. If you are over 5 feet tall it is difficult to get under the shower. The baffling thing was the presence of a video tape player, which is unusual to find anywhere now, but there were no video tap...more
Fantastic experience staying on the farm, fun for all ages! We can't wait to visit again. Views are superb and the location is brilliant...so close to the Mumbles. Staff are so helpful and friendly. My little boy had the best time; he did not want to leave! He loved waking up every morning to see 'Ted' the farm dog, 'Peggy' the pig, 'Flash' the horse and the other animals. He went on his first pony ride! Such a lovely, relaxing holiday. Thank you Clyne farm!
We enjoyed our stay here and it was a perfect location for our large family group. Loved hearing the cattle bellowing
It was a perfect location for our large family group. We went on lovely, picturesque walks and played rounders in the garden.
A party of 22 of us came to celebrate joint 70th and 80th birthdays, staying in 4 cottages. Only downside was our shower, which "blew hot and cold" so was uncomfortable and could have been dangerous for a child. Other than that, the cottage was so warm and comfortable, and had everything we could have needed. Even with 8 of us in it, there was plenty of space, and I loved the children's activity packs provided. The huge dining table was put to full use, including when we had visitors from the other cottages. I have read reviews that it wasn't very clean but for our stay it was all spotles...more
Positives first - the location is really incredible with gorgeous views and the kids enjoyed the freedom of running about the property and the horse riding with great instructors. But wish wish we'd read the other reviews - the property we stayed in, Stables, is really poor - we have absolutely no idea how it gets 4 stars. It could be 2 stars but even then we would expect basic cleanliness. Lowlights included maggots, other people's hair, strong smell of cat wee on the entrance mat, strong smell of (let's be kind) drains in the downstairs bathroom. The shower really is an exercise in luck....more
