A newly furnished 2 bedroom apartment just minutes from York city centre. The property benefits from a fantastic external balcony overlooking the city walls. Perfect for exploring York!

Instructions to access the property were clear, interior of property was very pleasant, clean and welcome park a nice touch, 10 minute walk to the centre of York. However, there were quite a few issues overall.

Booked for 3 nights but left after 2 due to all night parties until 5am in the flat below. Property is in a student complex and not a particularly nice part of York, something we’ll check next time we book anywhere.
The outside balcony (with the view of derelict buildings) had a pile of dog mess in the corner left by a previous occupant so didn’t use the balcony in the end. The front door to the property isn’t very secure and the locked gates on the ground floor are left open by other occupants meaning anyone can access the lift and stairs to the property. Reported these issues to the agent (noise issues, having to vacate early and the mess outside) but they never responded.

The apartment was well kept, clean and had everything there one could ask for in a short stay. The location was nice, as it was about a 15 min walk or less to the center of the city were there's always activities and food to enjoy.

Clean and comfortable, in fact the beds were amazingly comfortable.
Wouldn’t want to live there but a good size for a holiday let. Good location with a short walk into town centre.
Does have a great view of the walls but it includes a great view of the tyre place across the road.
Bit of a faff getting in and out with car park barrier code, security gate code, but the lift worked fine, although it stank of marijuana.
Everything in the apartment worked except the oven (grill and hob worked) and it was well appointed, very nice little welcome hamper too.
Wouldn’t actually recommend it as it has a premium on being a penthouse with a huge balcony but the flats on the lower floors are bigger inside, unless you’re lucky with the weather and want to use the balcony a lot.

Cons: I marked cleanliness down 1 as whilst there we spilt milk on the hard floor and in wiping it up, the wipes came away grey. We also happened to stay in the hottest July week (28oC at points). The whole living/dining/kitchen area faces onto a balcony with 3 sets of double doors along the wall, but only 1 door was able to be opened. The other 2 sets of double doors had had their handles and locks removed (hinges still in place) so they wouldn't open, and the other door from the set that would open seemed stuck - all in all making it very hot and stifling in the living space and less comfortable. We could see from our balcony that at least 1 of the neighbouring flats along could open all their balcony doors. There was a fan with multiple settings. Just a shame the doors couldn't open to allow fresh air. Perhaps less of an issue in "normal" UK weather!

Pros: Flat had all the conveniences needed, some washing up liquid/dishwasher tablets provided, as well as tea/coffee and biscuits (appreciated after a long journey) and supermarkets nearby. Easy location right next to the walls. Obviously a student residence area as houses around it are named like student residences but we were there out of term time so any noise etc. wasn't an issue. Customer service from Stays York was great, really prompt email replies with any queries. They left us instructions on how to get into the parking space (another pro) and flat itself which were really straightforward. Thank you!
