Fantastic house it was ideal to host the bridesmaids in with great facilities and plenty of room for the bride and 6 bridesmaids to get ready in. Gorgeous views and great size balconies. We all had a brilliant stay and would highly recommend the house as somewhere to stay.
Very spacious apartment, 10 minutes walk from the high street in Ventnor. Beautifully decorated. Easy to collect key.
The Lodge was in a perfect location. Quiet but within a few minutes walk to Shanklin. Everything you could need was provided including extra pillows and blankets. The cottage was warm and cosy and we felt at home straight away. Very pretty spring garden. We had our 3 year old springer spaniel with us and the layout of the cottage was such that muddy paws could be cleaned in the conservatory before she entered the kitchen and the rest of the cottage. Also the garden was secure so we had no worries that she could wander off. A welcome folder had been supplied which gave instructions on how to us...more
A very nicely appointed apartment, with plenty of space and modern equipment. The owners live on site and were very accommodating and helpful. Lovely views from the lounge/bedroom.
Had a wonderful week of sunshine which enhanced our stay, the cottage was delightful with the way the living and kitchen area divided the two charming bedrooms. The bonus of all the rooms opening out onto the deck was particularly nice as the weather was so hot! We loved spending time down at the creekside watching the tide changing and the boats coming & going. We will definitely be coming back for another visit!
This was our second stay at the stables and will deffinatley go back. A friendly welcome from the owner when we arrived and the cottage was very clean and very well equipped. The location is wonderful as it is at the end of a lane next to Bembridge harbour with access to st Helens beach via a causeway.
We had a lovely week at the Hay Loft - lovely weather, several BBQs, lots of cycling, it's a beautiful house in a beautiful spot, well set out, well equipped and very comfortable.
Another wonderful holiday at Mole Cottage. Luccombe is beautiful and the cottage garden a delight to sit and play in for both children and adults alike. The cottage had all the amenities to make our stay memorable and comfortable. Badgers , foxes, rabbits and a mouse plus lots of birds visited us almost daily. Thank you for a fantastic family holiday.
Very good value for money and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The views over the countryside are lovely. Very peaceful and quiet.
The Old Barn is in a beautiful setting and just a few minutes from Godshill village by car or a short walk across the fields. It's a great location for exploring the island. The owners were very helpful and responded quickly when needed. The Barn was perfect for a family of 6 ranging from 10 to 85! Plenty of space and very homely. The children were pleased to find a few games to play too. This is an ideal holiday home for families and we would recommend a stay to other families. Just be prepared to be woken by the cockerel!
We booked a last minute break through Island Homes who were incredibly helpful and sorted everything out including a ferry booking very quickly and smoothly. Beechwood Cottage did not disappoint, very well equipped in a large peaceful garden. Shirley was warm and welcoming and we felt well looked after. We would definitely return to the cottage again.
The squeak is ideally situated in a beautiful part of the island. It is fantastic for families, allowing the littlest ones to explore the country side. Excellent walks and cycling opportunities for all abilities. Great location for accessing the rest of the island. We felt totally welcomed and at ease-a real home from home.
The apartment was a late choice when the one we had originally booked became unavailable. Although initially disappointed it did not have a balcony the sea view is very very good, there is also an allocated parking space on the car park opposite the flat which is a great bonus when you return as it saves searching for a space on the street. It is also in a good location as it is between the shops and the beach so only a few minutes from both. The apartment has everything you may need, and is both comfortable as well as very nicely decorated. The only negative thing I would say is that the ma...more
Another lovely week in this delightful cottage, I am not prepared to add any more. We had a wonderful time. No mre to say!¬
This is the second time I have stayed here with my daughter, son-in-law and young granddaughter. The flat is excellent. Very tastefully decorated with excellent amenities. The beds are extremely comfortable so you get a really good nights sleep. Lovely peaceful location. There is plenty of room in the flat with comfortable sofas, large shower enclosure, reliable boiler providing hot water and heating, and the utility room is a bonus. The owners of the properties are welcoming, always available and nothing is too much trouble. I highly recommend this flat and we will be returning again next ye...more
A great place to stay, exel location, convienent for all your needs. local shops, beach, public transport. One down side, parking! if nobody parked opposite great between the post and tree, if parked opposite it can be a little difficult.
This is the second time we have stayed here. It is a fantastic location with lots of wildlife to see around it. Perfect for a family with everything you might need in the property. Will definitely stay here again.
What a wonderful holiday in a lovely village and a beautiful home. It was our first time to the Isle of Wight, and we loved it. The house is perfectly situated to see the island if you have a car. The Old Court Wing was very very clean, well set out and had all the mod cons that you need. It would have been more convenient for us as 4 adults and 2 children if there were a shower in the main bathroom as well as the ensuite but this would not put us off staying there again in the future. The only negative was that the wifi is not very good however we think this is typical of the island. T...more
This holiday home is well equipped for keeping the kids entertained. There was a great trampoline in the garden and swingball and the house had books and games and dvds. There is every convenience in the kitchen including a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer. These appliances made the holiday hassle free rather than make do. The bedrooms were light and airy with great views and there was an extra sink in the main bedroom. The only thing we thought was a bit disappointing was that after a long journey with two toddlers we arrived 10 mins early and found the cleaner still at the...more
We found the cottage very well equipped and spacious for four adults, a six and one year old. Glad we brought our stair gate. I found the Aga not hot enough to cook on, and noticed it was registering on the black part of the gauge. However, it provided ample hot water and fine for breakfasts. The garden was charming and the loggia provided alternative eating and playing area. The beds were very comfortable and the nights peaceful. Recommend for both families and couples.
A lovely, well equipped cottage in Bembridge. Being just a couple of minutes walk from the pretty centre of the village and all the shops you could need, whilst just a few minutes further from the picturesque harbour and wonderful beach by the lifeboat station was a godsend. The cottage is comfortable, well equipped, and there are nice touches - tea and coffee available on arrival, a bottle of wine if you need it, a shed with crabbing nets and the like for the kids, a comfy garden with a BBQ (the butcher just a few minutes away does amazing sausages!), TV with iPlayer and stock of board games ...more
Had a wonderful holiday at 1 Cavalier Quay helped by the fabulous weather. Excellent accommodation; clean, modern and everything provided for (and I mean everything!) Well situated for touring around the island and getting the car/foot ferry over to Cowes.Wonderful views over the marina and lovely to be able to sit out on the veranda. Great pub/restaurant 5 mins walk serving delicious food (need to book at weekends though) Would definitely stay here next time we come to Isle of Wight.
Great property in a good location. Very comfortable, well equipped and loved all the homely touches.
Our second stay at Lyndean. A gorgeous house with every home comfort for the family. We enjoyed trips to the beach; just a 5 minute walk away, the quaint old village is also in easy walking distance.
Iduna did feel like a home from home for us as a family, we relaxed as soon as we arrived because it was just like the description and photos we had viewed when booking and was better than we had imagined. The house was comfortable the kitchen was well stocked all the utensils you could need for cooking and we enjoyed many happy meals we cooked and prepared in the kitchen around the dinning table. Our son loved the PS3 and many games he had to choose from and he loved his bedroom. We liked Freshwater and the house being so close to the shops and restaurant's and a football/basketball court...more
Very pleased we booked. The house had everything we needed for a week's holiday with adult family. Very clean, very comfortable. Wonderful gardens. Would recommend
This location was just right for us and the attractions we wished to see. We also chose it because there was a shop and pub close by and both were better than expected. There are low beams but that was fine for most of us.
This was our second stay at Pelham Lodge and we had a great time despite the weather. Fourteen people aged 1 upwards will test the facilities of any holiday home but PL will meet the challenge. Good range of accommodation including a spacious kitchen and great family rooms. The amply good sized garden is well contained providing plenty of space in a safe environment, perfect for a summer barbecue. The owner is very welcoming and attentive to any needs that arise. The beach hut at St Helens is a real bonus (sadly the July 2017 weather was less kind than August 2016). There's plenty to do on the...more
This was our second stay at cost guards property and it was just as good as the first! The property is in a brilliant location of the town and the beach ( as seen by the view) it was a lovely week:)
This was a holiday to visit family so location was good for us, would of loved WiFi thou Fix the back door !!
We had a fantastic holiday staying at Sea Dreams. The apartment wad very well equipped with a good travel cot and highchair for our toddler. We enjoyed the view and sunsets from the window. It is an excellent location for the short walk to the beach & town and for getting to all the attractions around the island. We will be back!
Very quiet area surrounded by lovely gardens. We were 25 minutes walk from Ryde town. The apartment was bright and spacious. On arrival we had a basket of goodies left on the table for us. Very friendly owners and we were made to feel welcome.
This is a fabulous place to stay! With three young children, the very short walk to the beach and amusements was just perfect in the evenings. The parking place is a necessity in the area as the town centre is a very short walk away too. Shanklin itself is a great place to stay as the rest of the island is easily accessible. Just go down the road and you are back in the main road. (The train / bus station were also only a 10 minute walk from the property too). Inside the cottage was spacious and comfortable. In the bedrooms, the linens were clean but worn in places, yet they were comfortable....more
We had a fantastic time staying at 20 Bellevue road - the house is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. We were staying with our 3 year old and our 7 month old and the house was well set up for children, with cot, high chair, toys, washing machine and children's cutlery etc. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking (even relatively sharp cooking knives, which is rare in a holiday rental I find!!). The house was well-located - walking distance to the beach and train station and parking permits were provided for our car too. All in all, a fantastic base for our holiday on the is...more
We had a lovely stay at this spacious cottage . Lovely walk into Yarmouth and great that the bus stops are located near to the house to . Very well equipped and very clean . Would definately like to return .
Stayed 11-12 days at Queensbury Lodge and loved it. The owners were very friendly and very welcoming. This is a great location to stay being more central on the Island and if you love your road cycling then this place is a must. Nice and quiet and relaxing if you like your own space and unlimited routes with steep hills to climb with stunning views. The property has everything you need, washing machine, cooker, bath/shower, nice comfortable settee to relax on in the evening. Lovely garden too. What is also a plus is there is a bus route within a minute of the house in either direction so if ...more
The Grain Store provided the perfect location for our holiday. The cottage is beautifully appointed and I was keen to try out the log burner but didn't need to as the weather was warm. We did make use of the dishwasher though and the washing machine! We brought our dog and access to the footpaths with an easy walk into the village was great. Would like to try cycling next time too. I would be happy to recommend The Grain Store for a family holiday - it is a perfect base from which to discover all that the Isle of Wight has to offer!
A beautiful house in a peaceful location. The family who own the house have holidayed in Gurnard for generations and you can feel how special the place is. Beach is 5 minute walk away, as are a couple of good pubs serving food and the local Nisa. The layout of the house is very good, with a downstairs shower room proving very useful. The conservatory is a lovely sunny spot and the BBQ in the garden was handy too. The children enjoyed playing with the games left for visitors and we all found the beds upstairs very comfy. Not a problem for us, but the stairs were quite steep, but stair gates wer...more
A big, beautiful, family-friendly house in a lovely village location - we felt so lucky to find it!.
The cottage was well maintained and supplied with everything you need for home from home stay and very clean. All ages catered for. Although in a quiet area, which was appreciated by us, it is very easy to get to a number of beaches and attractions. Bus stop at the end of the road.
A comfortable house in a good location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, The Lifeboat pub in the East Cowes marina is very close buy and does good meals. A Waitrose is quite near and Osborne House is also nearby.
What a fabulous location, directly opposite a beautiful clean beach. The house itself is in very good condition. All of the beds are comfortable and bedrooms have plenty of storage. There was plenty of equipment and seating for our party of 5 adults, 1 child and 1 infant. The only negative comment was the lack of a stair gate. You would think if they provide a travel cot and high chair they would also provide a stair gate. No problem this year as the infant only cruising around the furniture so able to block off the stairs with the dining chairs, but this wouldn't work with a slightly older t...more
We were a party of 3 families (2+2) with the children aged between 8 and 12 Despite the first couple of days weather being drizzly - we just adored being at Downedge and at times was a challenge to get out with so much on our doorstep. When we did venture out we found everything was within easy reach. The property was well equipped with pretty much everything! Cheeky one - we arrived on FA cup final day (Arsenal being the winners) - the only one area i could possibly provide some constructive feedback on is not having a "huge TV screen" with HD recording facility - as i say - that would be...more
We enjoyed our second stay in Niton Very friendly owner and cottage immaculate My only concern for future holiday makers is that the bathroom is very small - shower door does not open fully
Just a few minutes from town centre, great base for access to island attractions if required. Cottage had all of what we required for a holiday break but parking could be an issue if more than one car is used, would recommend and reuse myself
A warm welcome from the owners plus a were tasty sponge cake. The apartment was a home from home and was nice and handy for the restaurants and shops and other amenities. The location was very quiet and peaceful. All in all we made a good choice.
As always a very good place to stay. Everything is there and the ;location is excellent. Looking forward ot returning next year.
We had a great stay at Morse Cottage which was pet friendly so ideal for our chocolate Labrador. The two bedroom property was spacious, clean and cosy with lots of windows and lovely views of the sea, meadows, hills. Very peaceful and only a few minutes walk to the costal path and the most magnificent views of the light house and sea. Only downside was you had to drive to the nearest shop / pub in Niton as a little too far to walk and no street lights if you were walking back to the property when it was dark.
Who needs anything more than offered by our nice clean small bungalow (chalet) in a heat wave at the beach. We had a lovely time.
This is the second time we have booked with this firm & completely recommend them. Both properties were spotless, had so many extras that you wouldn't expect & have, most importantly, a reserved off road parking space. We fully intend to book through them again.
Excellent location to the beach. Kitchen too small for more than four people to eat in. Perfect for young children.
We had a lovely time at Mariners. The location was excellent for us as we wanted to stay somewhere close to the village (and to the local pub!). It was a two minute walk to the nearest beach (pebble) and to The Pilot Boat Inn. A few minutes more to the village where we can recommend The Old Village Inn - lots of menu choices. Also, the local butchers kept us supplied with our daily breakfast with some lovely local bacon and sausages. Everyone we met was really friendly especially the neighbours. Looking forward to going back again next year.
We have just returned from a two week stay at Beachside in Bembridge. This is our 4th visit to this property which is lovely and in an excellent position. However, on this visit, we were disappointed with the cleanliness and general repair of the property. We had been on the Isle of Wight for 6 days staying in St Helens, prior to our booking at Beachside, so we drove past Beachside at around 14.00 on 30th June expecting to see the cleaners cars outside the house. We were surprised to find the house empty with all the curtains drawn and no sign of the cleaners. On entering the property the...more
A lovely, comfortable cottage in a great location - this was my second visit in recent years and I would definitely recommend it.
This house provides very comfortable home-from-home accomodation, without the clutter! Wonderful sea views from the 2nd and 3rd floors and only a brisk 10 minute walk from the nearest beach. We love the Isle of Wight, but have never stayed on this side of the island before; we were not disappointed. This is a spacious house and we very much enjoyed staying here. A welcome folder would have been useful though, containing information about using appliances and what to do with rubbish/recycling. Three generations of our family stayed at Hurst View and we had a lovely time. Thank you. ☺
Lovely place, clean and every thing you need ,peacefull ,all information in a folder so you know how to use things like cooker, washer ect,,will be booking this one again, only thing I missed is a clock in the lounge.
This is a comfortable cottage in a great location, the description was accurate so our expectations were met fully. It is very well equipped, we appreciated the books and DVDs. I would certainly recommend this to others.
Isle of Wight lovely, plenty to do an see and do. The apartment was convenient with terrific views. The Spyglass pub a must for location and food.Unfortunately Ventnor itself is looking very tired and in need of a smart make over, no attractions for children..
Spent a lovely week at The Salt Pot with my mother and sister. There was plenty of space and we found the house very comfortable and well equipped. The roof terrace had amazing views to the sea and was perfect for breakfast/a glass of wine in the afternoon or evening. The property is well located although the walk into Ventnor is quite steep and may be unsuitable for some. The on street parking is very limited but there is a public carpark a 2 minute walk away and there were always spaces available although parking charges apply.
Instructions need updating. We had to help visitors to adjoining Morse Cottage find their key box because instructions not accurate. Hot water supply not very reliable and instructions to re-set it out of date (reference to control panel being opposite a red sofa that isn't there any more). No guidelines about what should go into the recycle bin. Outside furniture not up to standard of indoor furniture. TV extremely complicated. Given cost of property I think it should be replaced with something simpler. No scales in kitchen. However, we had a very good time despite being unlucky with the ...more
We had a fabulous stay at Ningwood. It's in a excellent location for getting around the Island and is very peaceful for those wanting to relax. The apartment itself has a perfect layout, was clean and well equipped for self catering (we are used to taking our own tea-towels and a few utensils, toilet rolls and cleaning products etc but saw we needn't have brought them as all were there in the apartment). My 7 year thought it was amazing and didn't want to leave. Would definitely recommend Nigwood and will most likely stay again.
We had a great week at Ninham. The house was comfy, clean and large enough for the 8 of us. The facilities shared with the camp site were a big plus for the house. The swimming pool in particular was a big bonus and one my children loved! My only very minor negative was the small fridge. Far too small for a house which sleeps 9.
We have stayed at Admirals for the last 4 or 5 years. It seems to need a little more care. This year we had 3 bulbs that were out, also the back needs some TLC. We love staying in Yarmouth and Admirals but last year the kitchen was not as clean as it could be and this year it was the bulbs and it never used to be like this.
A very clean and tidy property in an excellent location just yards from the beach and town. A very enjoyable stay, shame you can't affect the weather!
We have just come back from spending a week here, it is a lovely spacious house with a relaxing living room with nice views, not overlooked at all, the bed was comfy (king size), the shower great and there was off road parking. The only criticisms I have were on arrival we of course wanted a drink, the glasses and mugs needed to be washed first as dirty with crusted on food, I presume that's because the cleaner did not check in the cupboards, also the TV is rubbish, it is an ok size but isn't even an HD one, the picture wasn't sharp and the internet dropped out on several occasions. Just beca...more
We love the Island and have been searching and searching for the perfect house! We have at last found it in Norlands Cottage. Were were there with another family who loved it equally. The location made it for us that week because the weather was SO terrible it meant that all our teenagers could happily walk into the centre of Yarmouth safely to pass the time. The little beach nearby was wonderful and great crabbing too at the mini-marina. Surfing at Compton was fantastic and only a 10 minute drive through Freshwater which has a great supermarket. The house itself is brilliant with a gorgeo...more
House is much better than it appears from frontage. Light, bright and airy inside. Kitchen well stocked with cooking equipment. Be careful on stairs as steep and painted white on stair and walls. Main bedroom very comfortable. Beds in twin rooms are more suitable for children. Plenty of space throughout the house for six to spread out and do separate activities. Nice, sunny and safe outdoor space. Space for parking a large car tight but manageable. Great information package, please read it as it is really useful. Location is lovely. Bembridge has great facilities for fresh food and there is a...more
We had a nice two-weeks stay at two-way end. The place was clean and comfortable. One suboptimal point was the problem with clogged toilets.
No 57 The Salterns, was at first glance clean, and tidy, with good facilities, and comfortable bedding. As our time there progressed little niggles began to emerge, and to heighten things which perhaps should have been present in the first instant. Namely, a welcome pack, together with, an information pack would have been useful. Then we come to a list of things which could be corrected within a short time, and at minimum cost. Only four dinner knives in a set of six of other cutlery. Pudding dishes were all chipped. Shower curtain needs to b...more
Great location in the centre of Ryde and only a short walk to the sea front, shops and bars. The interior of apartment itself was newly refurbished, smart in appearance and comfortable. The usual essential items were to be found with the kitchen being capable for those evenings where you want to 'stay in' and cook. We were a little disconcerted with the security of the apartment, as it shares a common entrance into the ground floor/rest of the house. As such, the occupants of the ground floor (which does have a locked door), could simply walk down the stairs into the basement apartment. ...more
A reasonable level of accommodation. Kitchen equipment not entirely clean, waste still in waste bin (elephant thing in front room), bathroom door difficult to open, standard of cleanliness not high (many examples), washer not connected to water so enquired during the stay, wardrobe in second bedroom had bad smell.
A charming property with everything thoughtfully provided. Very convenient for lots getting to lots of the island's attractions.
