After undergoing a major refurbishment, this cottage is now oozing charm, character and comfort. The cottage is as exceptional as the setting; a beautiful mix of a traditional stone cottage with the addition of a timber clad sun room.

Entering the cottage you find a smart and stylish kitchen and dining area with the en-suite bedroom and sun room located at either end of the cottage. The entire space has been beautifully designed, finished and furnished to the highest possible standards, giving guests a real sense of luxury.

In the sun room, the views of Loch a’Choire are spectacular and when the nights draw in, the wood burning stove adds an additional level of cosiness. Guests will find the welcome books and visitor information here helping you make the most of your time at Kingairloch and the surrounding area.

The ensuite bedroom has a lovely view of the loch and mountains and is furnished with a king size double bed with quirky nautical details adding to the character. The bathroom has a walk in shower.

Outside the cottage there is comfortable outdoor seating. There is also ample parking.

Up to two dogs are welcome (charged at £24/pet). Please note there is no fenced area and the private estate road does pass in front of the cottage, however traffic is minimal.

Fabulous, again

It was our second visit to Kingairloch, in a new cottage, it definitely will not be our last. It’s so peaceful and the wildlife is always about, you don’t even need to look particularly hard. If you have any human powered toys you can take out on the water, Pier Cottage is the one for you. Stunning.

So peaceful and relaxing, wildlife in abundance Pine Martens, Otters, Stags and eagles. Lots of walks for all abilities from your doorstep. Wild swimming in the loch and great fun in our inflatable kayak. This amazing place always delivers in so many ways. My body and mind are all reset Thank You.
See you next year for visits 8 & 9

Have you ever said "Stop the world, I want to get off" well, we definitely did. Marvelous cottage in what we could only describe as "heavenly" The location is sublime, facilities in the cottage are brilliant, the bed is very comfortable. But the location is the show stopper. Rare Pine Martens come regular on an evening, stags everywhere, eagles, otters, and we saw a baby seal resting right outside the cottage.
One of our top three holidays we've ever had, and that is really saying something! WE WILL BE BACK!

A beautiful little cottage ideal for 2 people in a wonderful location. A good variety of walks and if your lucky a great variety of wildlife, deer, pine martens, eagle's and numerous birds. The vegetable box is a must filled with a good variety of produce from the walled garden. A couple of minor issues for us were the pillow's on the bed needed renewed, very flat and the outside light at the door didn't work. Also a better description of the pods for the coffee machine would help as I brought what I thought was correct but they were far too small, maybe a pic would help. But none of these issues took anything away from a wonderful week at Kingairloch, thank you all so much.

We had a fantastic stay at Pier Cottage. The peace , the beauty and the tranquility were beyond words. It really is the most stunning setting. We sat outside a lot just taking in the view.
Pier Cottage was everything we hoped for. It was super comfortable, clean and had all we needed for our stay.
We had evening visits from pine martins and a few times deer came down out of the woods.
Our dog had the best time on the walks around the estate which was so quiet and almost traffic free so lots of off lead walking for him.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a week or two in the beauty of Kingairloch.

Just note that you must stock up on food before arrival as it's about 40 minutes back over to Fort William (which has got M&S foodhall). The ferry is £10 each crossing so worth stocking up.

Amazing location, beautiful accommodation, could not ask for better and will definitely return.
I have visited many locations in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and can honestly say that this is one of the most peaceful and unspoilt. I was privileged to see otters on three occasions during a week long stay and was visited by pine martens most evenings.

We had a wonderful week and would certainly love to go again to Kingairloch. The scenery is stunning and wildlife viewing was excellent. The meals at the Boathouse Restaurant were fantastic and we even used their take away service which was great too.
The cottage was very comfortable and was equipped with everything we needed and even had champagne flutes so that we could celebrate a special birthday.
Just magical.

Our happy place.once again we are drawn back to Kingairloch.

Our 3rd stay in the lovely Pier Cottage. On our first day we sat outside Kingairloch church watching 2 otters playing and fishing in the bay. What a great welcome! We walked 85mls with our golden retriever during our two weeks, both on the estate and at Ariundle, Ardery, Singing Sands & Loch Shiel. Saw otters at Kingairloch and Loch Sunart. Beautiful sunsets. Thank you to the Kingairloch team for being so friendly and working so hard to keep this place special.

This was our 2nd visit to Pier Cottage and it didn't disappoint. The cottage was immaculately clean and well equipped with plenty of storage space. The view from the cottage is stunning and we were very lucky with the weather again. It is a peaceful and tranquil location and great for exploring the local area with plenty of walks/ bike rides straight from the door. The Estate staff are very friendly and helpful. We have already booked for next year.

Perfect setting and a very comfortable and well equipped cottage. The surrounding area is amazing, it never get’s boring, seals, more stags than people. Goats [we assumed wild] golden eagle. The Pine Martin enjoyed the food we put out but did it under the cover of darkness. We enjoyed cycling, perfect as few cars. Recommended by our neighbours who stayed in Elastic Cottage.

Pier cottage was a comfortable, warm and well-equipped base for a week's walking in December. The cottage is beautifully located next to the loch and adjacent to a quiet private road. You are unlikely to visit and not see deer, eagles, pine martens and otters. There are walking options throughout the Kingairloch Estate, several of which are way-marked, beyond that there are then unlimited walking options in the higher hills. The estate owners are clearly investing in the estate and it is lovely to see the care that is being given to repair. I came across a few people who worked on the Estate - all unfailingly friendly and helpful. It's a great place to go - highly recommended.

This is the 9th time at Kingairloch first time at Pier Cottage it never fails to impress you at Kingairloch it was lovely and cozy at the cottage. And the scenery is beautful . Plenty of walks from the front door.
And the wild life is amazing . Birds I have never seen so many differt sorts feeding on the bird feeder on the tree just outside . Also Otters. Seals which we seen from the lounge window. Goats. Sea eagles. Deer just strolling by the cottage. Our favourite are the Pine martins who came around every night for their peanut butter or jam sandwiches and also they love nuts and fruit. they sat in the lounge window eating not worried about us watching them we did have the lights out.and the out side night light on. IT is a great place summer or winter for a hoiday . We hope to be back soon. Thank you.

Our second visit to the estate but 1st in Pier Cottage. It's a lovely little property in a prime location right next to a secluded sea water loch.

Wildlife is abundant, Red Deer, Otters & Pine Martens can all be seen regularly if you're quiet & patient. You may see the odd White Tailed Sea Eagle or Golden Eagle if you are lucky as well as the usual smaller birds.

The remote location means you will need to bring everything with you in terms of food & drink as the nearest shop is some distance away however it's best to leave the car alone & just enjoy the surroundings.

The cottage was comfortable & has everything you will need although the furniture is starting to look a little lived in & there are a few rough edges to the finish of the property but this is only a very minor point & doesn't detract from the overall experience.

One thing to bear in mind is that there is a working fish farm close by & the workers access this via boats from the jetty but the disturbance is minimal.

Don't forget your bug repellent if visiting during the summer. The clegs can be nasty!

We stayed 7 nights in Pier cottage and I can honestly say I wish we were still there. If you want peace to completely relax with amazing views and walks this is the place to be. The cottage could do with a little tlc but that didn’t detract from our enjoyment. It is extremely well equipped with good Wi-Fi and phone signal as a bonus.
The views were wonderful from the cottage and lots of wildlife came to visit including deer and pine martens. We also saw an otter in the loch. Lots of great walks on the estate to explore too.
I’d have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone.

Stayed at pier cottage at the beginning of May. What a find, clean and comfortable, very well equipped, fabulous views and so quiet. Masses of wildlife, birds, deer, pine marten, a slow worm and loved standing outside just getting dark and watching the bats flit past your head. Just magic. Lovely to get around the estate using my disability power chair (good hard surfaces made this much easier). Would love to come back at some point and have already recommended to a couple of family/friends.

Our 2nd stay at Pier Cottage. We had lovely weather and enjoyed exploring all the different estate footpaths with our golden retriever. Wildlife in abundance, we saw golden eagles, otters on several occasions, pine martens visiting daily, wild goats, and
red deer. Heard the cuckoo often, and had goldfinches and a woodpecker on the bird feeders. Looking forward to returning next year. Thank you to the Kingairloch team for your friendliness, hard work and excellent standards.

This is our second visit to Kingairloch. Last time we stayed in The Gate Lodge. If you like to get away from it all then this is the place. The nearest shop is half an hour away so we stocked up on the drive up, arrived Saturday and didn’t move the car again for five days! Having visited the area before this time we just enjoyed long walks around the estate with our bouncy 10 month old Lab( who had the best time, experiencing a snow day which he loved!). We saw deer, stags, sea otters and finally, after visiting the Highlands for nigh on 30 years, a pine marten! Pier Cottage was lovely and had everything you could need including excellent wifi. The heating system is very efficient and we were cosy all week. There is a commercial fish farm based right next door but we weren’t disturbed at all by it and quite enjoyed watching the comings and going’s on the Loch ( daytime only). We love Kingairloch and will be back again some day soon.

We loved Pier cottage, and Kingairloch estate is stunning.
It was an overcast showery week, but we still didn’t want to leave. The sun shone for the last couple of days, and on our last evening, a pair of Golden Eagle soared above the loch in front of Pier cottage as the sun was setting!
We saw pine marten on trail camera, and enjoyed spotting an otter a couple of times.

The estate staff are friendly, and Rebecca was helpful and quick to answer emails, thank you.
We don’t often revisit holiday locations, but we would like to rebook with Kingairloch, I would happily stay in Pier cottage again it was beautifully clean and well equipped. Bed super comfy, slept very well and enjoyed waking to the loch view every morning. The other cottages look great too.

We stayed at the end of Jan/Feb and expected wet weather, which we got. Nevertheless it is a beautiful area and we had some lovely walks with the dogs. The house was well equipped for us to cook at home. During our stay we visited Mull, Fort William, Oban and Strontian. On our days at home there were plenty of walks to do from the door but the guides provided by the Estate could have been a bit more detailed in their descriptions. The one member of the team that we met was very helpful and our fire wood arrived within minutes of us asking. The woman who delivered it was very kind and friendly.

To be honest it would have made a big difference to our experience if the boat house had been open as there was really nowhere to go for a meal or drinks that was a reasonable driving distance in the evening. Would definitely recommend the location for anyone wanting to get away from it all. I expect Spring is magnificent here. It is remote but WiFi in the cottage was also really good.

Had a fabulous week at Pier Cottagein November 2022. We've been visiting the area for many years but this was the wettest week of all. It didn't matter as whenever we wanted to be inside, Pier Cottage was warm and welcoming.

The Loch is amazing and the wildlife did not disappoint.

Have booked to stay at Kingairloch again for next yeat

Beautiful setting and lovely comfortable cottage. Have been twice before and did miss restaurant and take away home made meals.
Enjoyed everything the cottage had to offer and would certainly recommend it.
Just a few points of feedback:
*the water pressure was very poor in cottage this year
*A welcome pack and fresh updated information folder would add to the start if holiday
* pots and land need replaced

From entering the estate and seeing the wild goats on the shore we could see this would be our idea of a perfect holiday. We were not disappointed! The cottage is very cosy with stunning views. The wildlife is abundant and we saw Golden Eagles, Pine Martins, Deer, Seals, Bats, Grey Wagtails and numerous small birds. Sadly no Otters on this visit but should we need an excuse to re-visit there it is. We are already missing our daily bowl of blackberries picked just yards away from the door of the cottage.

Our stay at pier cottage was everything we'd expected, I work in construction and was very impressed by the quality and workmanship on our and the other cottages, my brother has already booked at gate cottage on our recommendation and we are about to book the post office for next year.
Well done and keep the standard up

If you are looking for a quiet location then Pier Cottage will probably suit you. It is in a very peaceful location with an abundance of wildlife close at hand - deer, Pine Martens, various bird life including eagles. If you do book a stay at Pier Cottage take some peanuts or peanut butter with you to feed the Pine Marten, you should be rewarded with regular nightly visits. Lots of other wildlife can also be seen without having to venture very far from Pier Cottage. Should you want to eat out then the nearest places are some 30 - 40 mins drive from the cottage.

Lovely cottage with excellent chance to see wildlife. We enjoyed long walks on the estate with our golden retriever. Didn't use the car much but when we did venture out there are lots of nice places to visit. The estate staff were all friendly and made us feel welcome. Happy memories of one of our best holidays and look forward to returning next year. Carol, Malcolm & Thyme

My second visit to Pier Cottage and it was as blissful as the first!
The scenery, peace and calm were exactly what I needed. A week wasn’t long enough! I spent my time on long walks with my Labrador and covered many miles around the estate. I was joined by deer and pine martens outside most evenings, turn the lights off and enjoy nature at its best!
I can’t wait to come back!!

We had a beautiful stay at Pier Cottage... the accommodation was spotlessly clean, and was well kitted out for all our needs.
We didn't need to use the car all week, we just walked from the cottage everyday, enjoying the beautiful scenery and wildlife. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

We have been visiting Kingairloch Estate since 2006 and have stayed in almost all of the delightful properties. Pier Cottage is our favourite place for two being close to the loch thereby enhancing our chances of seeing otters. This visit saw the Pine Marten and otters visit on most days and the eagles were frequently seen overhead. The surrounding area is amazing with places to visit or just amble through the Estate and then relax and recharge your batteries in front of the log fire. Mrs Larson and her staff are always happy to help and nothing is too much trouble. We will be back again and again to our little piece of paradise!

When we were driving down the lane to the cottage on arrival we were greeted by two stags on the grass to the side, and saw several more throughout our two week stay. The cottage was beautiful, and lovely to come back to at the end of a busy day sightseeing. Immaculately clean throughout and everything there that we needed for our stay. On cold nights we lit the log burner and enjoyed the amazing views through the windows as the sun went down. Our cottage was right on the loch side with breathtaking views from all aspects.
Lots to see out and about or just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the cottage. The Boathouse restaurant wasn't open (closes for the winter at the end of September) but we had a meal delivered to the cottage which was great (can highly recommend the venison casserole). Our two weeks flew by and we really did not want to leave. Really looking forward to returning.

Our third visit to Kingairloch. The nearby fish farm spoils the view from Pier Cottage but it was otherwise perfect for us in every respect. The estate is very well managed, the owners are charming and we saw an otter, a pine marten and some baby deer without trying. We will definitely return when we have tried all the other cottages on the estate!

This was our third stay at Pier Cottage and the first since the cottage has been remodelled with the new sun room extension. We very much liked the refurbishment of the cottage which has taken place since our last visit. The new layout with the bedroom downstairs and en-suite bathroom made things much easier. The kitchen / dining area is well equipped with a dishwasher and a good size fridge which helped as we brought a week of provisions for self catering, it being a long drive to any shops. The sunroom extension was great for sitting in the evenings or on rainy days watching all the wildlife that can be seen on the loch and also coming to the wild garden area at back of the cottage. We saw an otter several times, a pine marten which visits evenings from the woods, bank voles, many species of birds and red deer right outside the windows. Our car was parked up the whole week and we did many of the excellent walks around the estate. Thank you Susan and Tracey for the roast supper delivered to us at the cottage and for our lunch and dinner at the Boathouse which we very much enjoyed and thanks to all involved at Kingairloch to make our stay safe and enjoyable. We will definitely be returning!

Arrived here after a week on Skye. This place makes that island look overcrowded!!
Beautifully laid out cottage with an even better view. Spent most of the time waking round the estate, their are plenty of walks so you don’t need to stray far if you don’t want to.
Can’t give 100% as there’s always room for improvement. But I can’t think of anything...

This is our second visit to the Kingairloch Estate and it was interesting to visit at a different time of year. We had a wonderful time, the weather was on the whole very kind to us so we managed to walk most days of our visit. On arrival the cottage was extremely clean, cosy and comfortable. The heating was fabulous and the cottage always felt warm and comfortable. The bed was also very comfortable which is very important and I loved that there was a washing machine too. Essential things were provided such as salt & pepper and washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets which is very generous and thoughtful. We felt that the management had worked very hard to keep us safe in the current situation. We managed to see and photograph quite a bit of wildlife which is important to me. We really enjoyed the blue and green walk the views were stunning and the walk so tranquil and scenic. I can't praise the accommodation and surroundings more, we would definitely love to return, I was really sad to leave such a beautiful area. Thank you so much Susan and her team.

My wife and I have been self catering in the Highlands for many years and have seen a wide variety of different cottages but this cottage by far was the best. The location is stunning right by the waters edge, the fact that we saw deer, pine martins and otters on the first evening says a lot!! Kingairloch estate is meticulously cared for by Susan, Katrina and their team and the attention to detail is apparent everywhere, from the cottage to the grounds and the effort that has been made to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The estate has even a number of waymarked walks for your pleasure. The views from Pier cottage are quite unbelievable and to be honest folks, if you can find fault here, then perhaps you should stay at home from now on! Thanks to Susan for the wonderful food from her Supper Club. Thanks for letting us share Kingairloch and we look forward to our immentent return.

Excellent Cottage on the Edge of the Loch, comfortably furnished with everything you need.
Good walks on your door step and beautiful scenery in all directions. If you want to get away from it all this is the place.
Good communication from the owner who makes sure you are happy with everything, can’t fault it in any way. If you like rural Scotland and wildlife, then come here, we had a Pine Marten visit every night for his two free range eggs, and saw Deer every day. All in all simply perfect.

Pier Cottage is the perfect holiday cottage for people looking for some time out. Situated in a very quiet and beautiful location with views over the lochs and hills of Kingairloch estate it really offers you a chance to get away from the rest of the world. The cottage was very clean and every possible measure wrt Covid-19 had been taken, so no worries there. The house is very well-equipped with a large and beautiful kitchen (with freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer) and a comfortable and spacious living room. All in all a perfect holiday cottage! We hope to visit again in the coming years.

This was our second visit to Kingairloch-this year we stayed in Pier Cottage. The accommodation was very modern and comfortable and we appreciated the great efforts that had been taken to ensure the place was exceptionally clean in line with the new rules around covid.
The position of this cottage by the loch made it ideal for watching out for the otters and passing seal! We have fallen in love with Kingairloch and its comfort and remoteness-almost want to keep it a secret! We stayed in the Old Post Office last year and can see that each property has its own qualities.
The place to go if you really want to get away from it all.

Kingairloch is truly an amazing place to spend your holiday no matter what time of year . The properties are renovated to the highest standard , Pier Cottage sits a few steps from the loch and your views change all the time . Any staff that we have met have been lovely and friendly and they really care about your time on the estate.
Personally I love our journey to Kingairloch ( 6 hour drive ) we take our time and enjoy the journey as part of our holiday , the scenery is stunning and gets better the closer you get to Kingairloch.
There are so many interesting places to see near Kingairloch but I like nothing better than staying on the estate , walking , kayaking and watching the wildlife, there are many beautiful Stags , which you will meet every day whilst out walking , we also saw seals , otters , Fox and our first ever Pine Marten which visited us every night for some food ......
If you want a quiet and relaxing holiday then there can be nowhere better than Kingairloch.

Not my first time to Kingairloch but my first time at the newly refurbished and extended Pier Cottage. Because it's at the entrance to the estate, I feared it might lose some of the quiet found elsewhere but in a busy week in August I was wrong.

The cottage is comfortable and we'll equipped, even with that rare thing in a holiday let: sharp knives! The location great ... straight from the cottage to have a swim every day in the loch and all the walks that make the place so special are easy to get to without driving.

I was alone this time and didn't go the Boathouse restaurant but it's finding its mojo again and should have gone.

Pier cottage was the most delightful cottage we have ever stayed in. It was equipped to a very high standard and absolutely spotless.
The views were fantastic not only from the cottage but almost every part of the estate.
The wildlife around was stunning to see, including otters, pine martens, fox, red deer and a variety of birds.
We found all staff to be friendly and helpful when needed, and we were undisturbed otherwise.
What stood out for us the most was the peace and tranquility of the place. The ultimate getaway!
Thank you again Kingairloch. We’ll definitely be back!

If it's peace and quiet you are after, with stunning views, wonderful amusing wild life, with plenty of chances to film them each day, the Pine martens ,foxes, majestic stags, just outside your window, then the Kingairloch Estate is the place to visit. This was our 4th visit and all the cottages are of a very high standard.Pier cottage has been totally renovated and extended ,and it's on the edge of the loch, not too far down the track is the boat house restaurant, which is open three days a week, and a very welcome addition to the estate, and we never look forward to going home,it is such a beautiful place.Martin and Gill Legg.Dorset.

Pier Cottage has been transformed with the recent extension and refurbishment, with such thoughtful touches and understated yet elegant style. The cottage was equipped with everything for a perfect stay, totally relaxed and carefree. The outside seating meant we could soak up the glorious weather while enjoying the superb view out over the loch.

There was regular entertainment from the wildlife visiting the garden, including deer, pine marten and a fox and also the otter just off the shore nearby. We brought our sailing dinghy, which we launched from the little slipway nearby, and enjoyed the gentle walks signposted around the estate.

The estate staff were really helpful, and we enjoyed some lovely food from The Boathouse. This was a fabulous holiday in Pier Cottage and we thoroughly recommend it. We will be back!

After having Kingaireloch Loch and Pier cottage recommended to us when we arrived we couldn’t have been more delighted, just pure scenic heaven.
The Cottage was very homely and had been cleaned to the very highest of standards, the Staff were friendly and extremely helpful we couldn’t believe our luck then just to finish this all off to perfection the wildlife was amazing Fox’s,Pine Marten,Otters, Deer, Seals,Golden Eagles, Woodpeckers and even a slow worm.
We couldn’t have had a more perfect holiday here is a link to some of the pics my Husband Dave took while we were there. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did. https://www.facebook.com/pg/Wavey-IdlefisH-Photography-1217510655013384/photos/?tab=album&album_id=2185680764863030

My partner and I had a fantastic week at Kingairloch.
It was our first time and we have already booked again for next year.
The scenery is breathtaking, the wildlife unforgettable and the accommodation was an incredibly high standard.
Kingairloch is an ideal getaway, remote enough to feel like you are escaping the 21st century for a time, yet with enough activity on the estate to reassure you that others are on hand, if needed.
We loved it. I’m sure you will too.

Enjoyed our stay here so much that we have booked again in October , can’t praise it high enough , firstly for us coming from the south the drive through Glencoe must be one of the most beautiful drives anywhere , then the lovely short crossing on the Coran Ferry and finally the drive along the single track , winding , cliff edge road to Kingairloch was an experience we both loved .
Arriving at Kingairloch you immediately feel relaxed , everything about the estate is maintained to the highest standard and the views of the loch , hills and wildlife are simply beautiful.
Our cottage sits right on the edge of the loch and again every aspect of the cottage is of the highest standard , lovely large and bright kitchen with every appliance you could need , lovely comfortable bedroom with excellent en suite , the living room was again a great place to be in the evening after a long days walking around the estate , and the wood burner creates a very homely effect .
Perfect place for a relaxing holiday .

Having stayed in this cottage a number of times, I was amazed to find the fantastic renovation that had taken place over the winter, taking this place to a new level. What had not changed were the peace and quiet, the beautiful views and the friendly welcome, not forgetting the close up wildlife which is one of the main attractions for me. The dog and I walked the estate and beyond as usual, watching all the top mammals and birds to be found in the Highlands at this time of year and enjoying spring come to the area hour by hour in front of our eyes.

My wife and I are the type who like our getaway from the grind to be quiet, secluded, and adventurous.

Pier Cottage is perfect for offering all that and comfort. Recently renovated the cottage offers a fantastic decor with a good sized kitchen and a living room complete with wood burner. For the Highlands of Scotland the cottage was cosy and warm.

It's also right smack dab in the middle of a beautiful estate filled with places to see and hills to walk. Close to the ferry to Fishnish in Mull; it's just wonderfully located.

The Western Highlands is a beautiful and dramatic landscape, even on the rainiest days, and Kingairloch with Pier Cottage offers a staging point for anyone to explore it at a reasonable price.

Note though, if you like convenience being closer than 20-30 minutes away and not a small village shop, it might not work for you. For everyone else, you should love it.

Stayed at pier cottage 18/3/18 to 22//3/18. Cottage had just been refurbished and it was to a very high standard. Clean and everything that was needed ,was provided. Very remote location, lot's of lovely walks around the estate and on the Morven peninsula. Loads of wildlife. We had a great 5 days and can't wait to get back.

Fantastic long weekend in Pier Cottage, refurbished to a very high standard, with the added new extension, inside of cottage very high end.....there is lots to do in and around the Estate, Deer in abundance it was great to watch them and other wildlife, my retriever Bailey had a fantstic time as well watching all the wildlife, the weather was fairly dull which is expected at this time of year, but we enjoyed our walks regardless, when evening draws in it looks amazing with the sky full of stars but very dark......." torches supplied by the Estate" . In short for value and beauty too good to miss. Cant wait to visit again, hopefully everyone who stays in Pier Cottage will look after it and all the other properties on the Estate.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Pier Cottage. The cottage itself had everything we needed and although there was no wifi we think perhaps that if it did it may spoil the experience. Located right next to the Loch you feel, and to some extent are, in the wilderness but the rewards are fantastic views, walks and wildlife.

We went for a weeks honey moon in Kingairloch. It was amazing and we loved it. The area was fantastic. We spoke to almost no one for the whole week and saw lots of incredible wildlife.
There were a few small issues with the cottage but these were sorted immediately when we mentioned them.

Pier Cottage is a lovely little cottage adequately equipped for two people. There is comfortable outdoor furniture located in a sheltered position just outside the cottage. We spent a couple of blissfully relaxing afternoons there basking in the sun and taking in the glorious scenery. The wildlife provided fantastic entertainment during our stay. Food was available at the local Boathouse Restaurant Wednesday to Sunday. We had Sunday roast, Wednesday lunch and Friday dinner there and could not fault it. This was our second visit to Kingairloch (we stayed 3nights in Kingairloch House B&B last August, which was equally as good as a self-catering cottage, if not better. Susan is a wonderful host.) We will keep returning as it is the perfect getaway from work.

It is a perfect place to relax and to enjoy nature. We made some great walks on the estate and visited Strontian and Glenfinnan. When it rains it is perfect to sit in the kitchen and watch the water, hills and the wildlife. Very quiet and transquil.

This tiny cottage is a place I have visited a number of times, and a place I will return to again and again. The location is one of my favourites in the country, and it has again been a delight to get to know the local wildlife and to chat to the human residents to learn more about the life of the estate. I have watched golden and white tailed eagles, sea birds float past the front of the cottage daily, the woodland birds come within feet, pine martens visit nightly, the deer and wild goats are all around. It is a magical place and I will never tire of it. The cottage itself has everything you could need and is warm and comfortable. Thank you to all who make it so.

Our third visit to Kingairloch, our first saying at Pier Cottage. Yet again a lovely break, this time with no children so really got to enjoy the peace and quiet! Pier Cottage had everything needed for our 3 night stay and plenty comfortable.
The feeling of remoteness is fantastic and instils a great sense of serenity.
We enjoyed a few walks around the estate and nearby. The wildlife is a real highlight too: the stags wander freely with little care given to your presence; keep a sharp eye on the water as you never know what you'll see; countless birds of all shapes and sizes - no golden eagles for us this time, but this was more than made up for by this years highlight...Having the pine martens visit in the evenings was a joy.

We had a lovely week at Pier Cottage, our first impression on opening the door was warm and cosy. The view across the loch is amazing and you could spend the whole week just looking out the window. The weather - well it is Scotland, we had a couple of good days and took a trip to Mull on the ferry from Killochan. We had a whole day of rain and then a day of snow, when we sat indoors and watched the snow come down across the hills and up the loch - magnificent. The cottage was warm, cosy and well equipped, perfect for two.

I spent a very nice few days at Pier Cottage, lovely scenery and fantastic views. The weather was beautiful on two out of four days but honestly, bad weather has its own grandeur.
This cottage was better for me as the walks available for me [not as mobile as I was] were better than at Sea View where I stayed last year[[although I really loved Sea View] but I found the staircase/ladder a real challenge however I managed to negotiate it without falling.
The side door opening towards the pier was super as you could see well down the sound.

We booked Pier Cottage for friends of ours and regretted it. On arrival they called us over and I was stunned. There was immediately a smell of mould when you enter the property. The downstairs bathroom seemed to have mould on the window frame and the carpets/furniture seemed in need of replacement. Worst of all there was a leaking bedroom window, where someone had just placed a wastepaper basket under that already had around 1.5 inches of water in it. So they were obviously aware of the problem, but failed to let us know or offer alternative accommodation until we complained. All in all the property is in urgent need of refurbishment to bring it to a modern standard.

Katrina replied more than 1 year ago
Thank you for your review. We have had an extremely wet Autumn and we were sorry that the upstairs velux was leaking, with the constant heavy rains, it had found a way in. At the time, the bucket was the only option to stop further water damage going through the floor. You had booked another smaller cottage on the estate for friends and when there was the issue with Pier Cottage, we moved both yourselves and your friends to a larger property on the estate so you could all relax and dine together. All of the properties at Kingairloch underwent Visit Scotland grading this year and it was deemed that Pier Cottage was a solid three stars. The tariffs for this cottage are reflective of the grading as are the tariffs for the higher graded properties. Hopefully the rains will stop soon and we can carry out repairs to the roof. This Winter we are planning on re-modelling Pier Cottage, so keep an eye out on the website for improvements.

Brilliant location, views and wildlife, good cottage.

Lovely little cottage in great surrounding.
Excellent view we were able to video otters from the living room window!
No need to sit in a cold hide for hours on end.
Other review have mentioned the estate road that runs in front of the property but this not an issue for us at all.
There were about 12 cars past the cottage all day.
Walks are good but waterproof footwear is essential
The estate venison was superb.
The only thing that would have made this holiday better would have been if the Boathouse restaurant would have allowed dogs in.
This won’t stop us returning to the Kingairloch estate.

Pier Cottage is a delightful base from which to explore the beautiful countryside of the Kingsirloch Estate. Comfortable and well equipped, with a stunning and tranquil outlook, it is a perfect bolt hole for a short break. We would certainly visit again as there is much more to do and see.

Pier cottage is a wonderfully quiet little cottage in a gorgeous location directly overlooking the loch and surrounded by hills and mountains.

Hardly any mobile signal and no WiFi meant we could truly get away from the general busyness of every day life. And being such a remote cottage forced us to slow down and actually enjoy the beauty of the location rather than feel that we should be charging around seeing all the local sights.

In our week we were graced with Pine Martins and lucky enough to see wild red deer at close range.

In addition The Boat House restaurant was a welcome treat and we were made to feel very welcome by Susan and Katrina.

Would highly recommend and will be going back to relax and unwind from the stresses of modern life somepoint soon.

This was our fourth stay at Kingairloch and our third at Pier cottage. As usual the views were stunning and we saw a lot of wildlife. The weather wasn't great but that is hardly the fault of the owners. However our cold water supply was very poor, leading to scolding hot showers which were not great. We complained to the owner and her handyman was promised shortly. The repair was made several hours later but reoccurred on our last day. This would be a concern for me in the future and will probably lead to me not rebooking. A shame as every thing else was great. As the old saying goes you only find out how good the customer service is when something goes wrong.

This was our 3rd visit to Pier cottage. It's well appointed, spotlessly clean and in the most perfect location. We saw lots of wildlife- otters in the loch, and pine martens visited the cottage for snacks. The best thing is the lack of mobile reception! Would recommend the Boathouse for meals, delicious food and they can't do enough for you. And try some of the local venison, it's lovely. We didn't want to come home.

Pier cottage is perfect for two people. It is clean and comfortable and the kitchen has everything required for a self catering holiday. The quirky stairs up to the bedroom take a bit of getting used to but the bedroom is warm and comfortable. The estate has many nice gentle walks and also plenty of hills around if you are feeling a bit more energetic. If you are a lover of wildlife, there is no need to go looking for it, just relax at the cottage, and it will come to you. It is a haven for wildlife and our main reason for a second visit to this wee cottage. The otters swim in the Loch and eat breakfast / supper on the pier just outside the cottage. The Pine Martens come down to the cottage several times a day in the hope of finding a treat. Deer pass the front window at dusk. If you are looking for Raptors, there are two pairs of Golden Eagles, plenty of buzzards etc that can be seen just a short walk or drive up the hill on the track out of the main part of the estate. We are used to very secluded cottages, so the only downside for us about this wee cottage was that it sits directly on the single track into the Estate. It's not exactly busy, but cars driving back and forth past the cottage do scare off the Pine Martens and after waiting several hours to photograph them, only to have them scared off by a car driving past was pretty frustrating. Other than that, a great wee cottage.

Our second visit and not disappointed. Weather not quite as good all week as last year but we still managed several walks, seen plenty of wildlife and fished the lochs on the estate and had a meal at The Boathouse. We managed a trip to Mull and saw more wildlife there. We would love to live on the estate!

We stayed for an amazing four nights at Pier Cottage, but could have stayed a lot longer. The setting is stunningly beautiful - right on the Loch. We saw pine martens on our windowsill and deer roaming very close. Our dog absolutely loved it as well, and was exhausted from just walking the estate. One night we had dinner in the Boathouse and it was stunning - beautifully cooked and excellent service. A joy.

We didn't get off to a great start, as the cottage was locked when we arrived and the estate office was closed. The owner arrived promptly after we contacted her (we found her number in our welcome email), but there is minimal mobile phone signal there so were lucky that we could make the call. The cottage itself is very well equipped, with everything you could possibly need (except a hairdryer) and much more spacious than we were expecting. The stairs to the bedroom are quite narrow and steep but the room itself was a good size, although it is built in the eaves of the house. There are a number of nice walks around the estate and it was lovely to see stags out grazing in gardens and on the beach. The Boathouse is a lovely little restaurant and the food was nice. We would definitely return to the estate, but with two dogs, we would probably stay in a different cottage, as Pier Cottage is right on the roadside and doesn't have any enclosed space. For those looking to go deerstalking or clay shooting during their stay, I would advise checking availability before you confirm your booking. It didn't bother us, but we met a couple who'd come up from Kent and were staying for two weeks - they couldn't partake in either activity as both were fully booked for the duration of their stay.

just spent a glorious week at pier cottage kimgairloch where the sky was blue and the sun shone, midges where there foe a couple of hours in the morning and the same at night but the rest of the day it was great, looks like a sleeping police man as been lade just after the cottage, could do with another one on the other side of the cottages as some morterist sped past the cottage up to the bump, we had two dogs and the grand kids visited from another cottage so we put the bikes in the road at one point and moved them as and when, only down side to the cottage was the steep stairs but we managed, do not let the above detract from one of our best holidays ever

Best place for relaxing break, great views and scenery, if you enjoy walking this is the place to go, all the accommodation on offer is clean and good value for money. We have stayed at many of the cottages and they are all good. Book early to avoid disappointment for the cottages and the restaurant.
