This is our second time staying at Kingairloch - We stayed for 2 weeks and, as before, we loved every second. The location is great, so peaceful and quite, with an abbundance wildlife, literally on your doorstep and the clean fresh air. The scenery is impressive and so dramatic. We swam in the river just outside our house when the tide was in or wandered up the river to the "tree pool" when the tide was out. explored around the estate and hills and coastline. But we didn't even scratch the surface of what the nearby landscape had to offer.... a reason to come back again and again...

Accomodation was great, comfortable, clean and tidy and the perfect size with great views.

The patio at the front is a bit of a sun trap and it was great just relaxing and watching the world go by with a brew.

What can i say but pure indulgence! We have been staying at Kingairloch since 2009 in seaview ( 9 times )but wanted a larger place for our small pack of dogs . The cottage was as expected being fully equipped with everything you need including a bonus of a utility room . 40 inch smart tv was also a bonus with the living room being so large . Large master bedroom with stunning views for early morning or late afternoon wildlife spotting ( Red the giant stag visited us most days ) . The garden wall is half stone and topped off with live stock fencing so very secure and doggy proof . My favourite and unexpected part of our stay was the weather ( hot and sunny , cottage is situated in a sun trap )and the swimming in the crystal clear loch to cool down with fantastic views of the mountains ! We took our inflatable boat out and became the curiosity of seals which was amazing x the decking area with furniture in the garden was used for alfresco dining in the morning and evening . It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop . We met the permanent residents at the end of the road who were lovely and full of history about the estate which was a treat . Richard the gardener has done a fantastic job with the walled garden . Well worth a visit for amazing produce a friendly chat . Staying in Any part of the estate is a wonderful experience as the views are breathtaking and the cottages are all maintained to a high standard . The only gripes i have however we did manage a work around so didnt mark down ,was the bath plug pops out when running the bath . Which i wasnt aware at the start so lost all my hot water straight down the plug hole on the first night ;(We have left feedback on this so hopefully it will be sorted . And if you want to use the DVD player take your own material to watch as there are no DVDs left in the cottage ( except for our box set of Utopia :))

We had yet another wonderful stay in The Old School last week, 20.04.24 till 27.04.24 blessed with glorious weather all week and great wildlife views from the cottage alone, including White Tailed and Golden Eagles, Common Dolphins and Harbour Porpoises in Loch Linhe the early Cuckoos, Otters, Red Deer and the star of the show Pine Marten each evening. Thanks to Rebecca, Bobby and the team. Gary and Jude.

A short stay that surpassed our expectations.

Everything about our 4-night stay in the Old School was wonderful. We were visited each evening by a Red Deer Stag and the occasional wild goat. Kingairloch Church is a haven of peace and tranquility. The views across Loch Linnhe are beautiful. The food at the Boathouse Restaurant (Kingairloch Highland Estate) and the Whitehouse Restaurant (Lochaline) are exceptional. The Walled Garden is a credit to Richard. Everyone we met at Kingairloch Highland Estate takes a great deal of pride in their work and their community.

We look forward to our next visit to Kingairloch Highland Estate.

This is my third time to Kingairloch and my second stay at the Old School and definitely will not be my last! This makes the most perfect base for exploring everything the Highlands has to offer, Fort William, Loch Ness, Inverness and Ardumurchan to name but a few places, are all easily accessible from here. The cottage is by far the best I've ever stayed in, it's finished to a very high standard and has everything you could need while you're there, the separate utility room was a bonus, perfect for storing coats and boots and drying off the dog! It dropped to minus 5 some nights however the underfloor heating and the mod cons meant the cottage stayed cosy and warm. The views are absolutely spectacular and you are spoilt for choice with various walks right from the doorstep, perfect for our nervous rescue dog who likes the peace and quiet. I brought a full supermarket shop with me which meant I didn't have to go back to 'civilisation' for the week if I didn't want to however Fort William is only a short drive away and a trip on the Corran Ferry which is £10 each way (although I'd recommend buying a book of 30 tickets for £76.80). Kingairloch truly feels like a little piece of heaven in earth and definitely somewhere I will keep coming back to!

Another fabulous stay on the amazing Kingairloch Estate in this beautiful corner of the Morvern peninsula.
We love The Old School for its location, open, yet cosy feel and the amazing views. On this occasion we saw Otter, Red Deer and Pine Martens everyday, not to mention an array of sea birds including the Great Northern Diver.
Our week was cold and clear so the views were stunning everyday with the sunrises and sunsets providing amazing photo opportunities.
We love this wee cottage and will return in 2024. Thank you.

Cosy, very warm (after we worked out how to use the underfloor heating) , the cottage is so far the best we have stayed in. Stags a plenty, seals in the bay, we saw 1 Eagle flying over also bats late at night.. No Pine Martin again (didn't see any last year) what would make this house spectacular is a outside hose, dog wash, having 2 mucky spaniels in the shower is no good after their dip in a muddy bog up the mountains. But will stay here 100% again.

What can you say? We could find nothing to criticise this property about as a wonderful holiday let.

Beautiful location, spotlessly clean, superbly appointed, stunning surroundings.

The estate and the local people (thanks Mr Stone Wall repair guy!) were very helpful and accommodating when we had a problem with our vehicle.

Not a lot more you could desire.

Perfect.

We love this part of the world - and Kingairloch isjuat something special.

From the minute you arrive you are surrounding with excellent facilities at the accommodation and breath taking scenery and wildlife.

The best bit though has to be the peace and quiet! We take our nervous rescue dog away from the fireworks... He loves it, which means we love it too.

Nestled between the salty shores of Loch Linnhe and the granite peaks of the Morven Peninsula lies Kingairloch Estate - the perfect place to step off the treadmill, unwind, relax, take in the views and… breathe. An autumn break in The Old School was the perfect antidote to our busy lives and despite the inclement weather (it is Scotland after all!) we enjoyed a wonderful few days in this stunning location. The warm and cosy cottage had everything needed to make it a comfortable home from home and the large utility room was great to store outdoor gear and clean up the dogs. The views from the decking were amazing and changed constantly depending on the weather and the tide. There were plenty of lovely walks in the area and around the estate. Please note that any shops are a good drive from the property so make sure to take plenty supplies with you or make use of a food shop delivery service - we used Morrisons without any issues. We can also highly recommend the Boathouse Restaurant for a lovely meal during your stay on the estate.

A wonderful holiday destination. Perfect for a totally relaxing chilled out get away from it all.

Although we've been before this was by far the best week we've ever had at Kingairloch. The weather wasn't spectacular, it was a mixture of sunny, wet and dry, but the early morning spent sitting outside with a cup of tea with the birds were just my idea of heaven, or the late night encounters with the friendly stags, again sitting out with tea. The house itself has everything you'll need, its clean, spacious, bright and a lovely getaway. The views are fantastic as are the local wildlife. We are trying out Elastic cottage next year hope that's good too.

Lovely to be back in Camas-na-Croise after a break of several years and to be staying in the Old School. It brought back many happy memories of times spent in the former cottage on this site. The cottage is well equipped ,comfortable and has everything one needs for a stay in one of the most beautiful spots on the west coast of Scotland. It is obviously well looked after by the team and it was good to meet some of them for the first time as well as catching up with one or two we already knew.Guests are assured of a warm welcome at any time of the year.

We have stayed a total of nine weeks at the Old School since 2017 when we were the first ever guests. We love it. The house is actually a new copy (built 2017) of the original school and is to a very high specification with a wonderful location on the beach and lots of wildlife. This visit was originally booked for 2020 and has been delayed by covid, but the Estate agreed to let us have it at the original price which was good value for money. The prices now being quoted seem very expensive, but perhaps that is what it costs to stay in one of the best cottages in Scotland.

Have been coming to Kingairloch for many years now and have stayed in four different properties. All properties great , but this is our favourite. Whole area is beautiful , with loads of wildlife ( regular evening visit from a very friendly Stag ) and wonderful walks .Really lucky with the weather and we went out walking everyday. Didn't want to come home ! The only negative comment would be rental costs - was looking at booking July 24 but prices have increased by 25% per week from this July's price, which feels a bit steep even when taking account cost of living rises etc.

We keep returning to this magical place where we found the abundant wildlife there to great us. Kingairloch never seems to loose it’s natural beauty and charm whatever the weather. The Old School was immaculately clean, warm and cozy and equipped with everything you could possibly need and we are looking forward to our return trip next year.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Kingairloch team for keeping this a truly amazing place to come on holiday.
Thank you, The Moores.

Our first time at Kingairloch and it won’t be our last. Stunning property, stunning location, a little piece of heaven. Rebecca from the estate team was fantastic, even going out of her way to find us some vet wrap when our spaniel hurt her paw. We had visits from 3 stags and a couple of mountain goats, nature first hand. I cannot find a single fault, except that the week went far too quickly and we didn’t want to leave. Definitely be back again

We had the most amazing time in the lovely Old School. As it was the middle of winter, we didn’t expect great weather and we got everything - sunshine, blue skies, storms, snow and ice. It didn’t matter. On the worst days we sat by the log fire and looked at the incredible view. We enjoyed plenty of lovely walks around and about. The dogs loved it too.

This was our 4th visit to Kingairloch but our first in the Old School. We arrived two adults two dogs on Christmas Eve for a weeks stay. Everything was spotless and nice and warm. Very comfortable settees and bed. Fluffy pillows and massive soft towels. Everything you need and like all the cottages great views. We did some walks around the estate. Twice we saw Otters on the approach road where the wall is. Lots of magnificent stags some even right next to the cottage. Visited every night by a Pine Martin and one night he brought a friend. Golden eagles in the bay. A big thank you Bob and Kevin who helped me out when our car got stuck.

We have been staying on the Kingairloch Estate for many years at several cottages. We have always found them well presented and clean. The estate is situated in a most beautiful unspoilt area of Scotland and the wildlife you can see there is amazing.
This time our holiday was at The Old School, our second visit there. We always look forward to our holiday in the week leading up to it. Sadly this time was different. The Estate has changed hands recently and is now run by a management company based in Oban. The new manager/factor is Sophie and she also looks after several other large estates. She is never in the office when you ring, her mobile goes to voicemail and you don't get a reply to messages left and many emails remain unanswered. We had reason to phone her on what was a sad and personal matter to us. It was a most unsatisfactory phone conversation with very poor customer service and no empathy. She needs to listen more and be certain her facts are correct. It was a matter we would not argue about so we left it, leaving my husband deeply upset.
The lack of a management couple or team based on the estate is a terrible mistake. I dread the day that something tragic happens to one of your visitors and they have no one to turn to. We will not be returning and have booked at a neighbouring estate which has high standards, good manners and a more realistic price.
If you are at the Old School please feed the pinemartens. They are used to being fed and need supplementary feeding in Winter months and Springtime when they are feeding their young on soft food. They will cache food for when times are hard. They will come to the windowsill in the lounge for good quality bird peanuts.

We had not stayed at Kingairloch before and this was to be part of a special three week 50th Anniversary Tour of Scotland. Our first visit was on our honeymoon just over 50 years ago and we have re-visited various parts of Scotland many times over those 50 years. We have made the visits as a couple with our two sons who are now 38 and 41 and various dogs. We even spent a sabbatical on the isles of Mull and Iona.
As we left the main road between the Corran and the Lochaline ferries we immediately felt that we were going somewhere special. It was not the best of days, it was dark and foreboding but it felt as if there was a magical quality about the whole area as we drove towards the Old School House, it was almost as if we had slipped out of time and space. We passed a family of feral Goats. Wherever we go our main priority is to watch, photograph or film wildlife and over 50 years, believe me, we have seen just about everything that Scotland has to offer in that department with just two exceptions the Crested Tit and the Capercaillie. However, they were not the reason we had chosen to come to Kingairloch although after this holiday we have only one of those birds left to see in the wild.
When we arrived at the Old School House we were just blown away by the beauty and functionality of the house. As you may have guessed we are no longer spring chickens and we are both somewhat challenged by our own mobility and capabilities so the layout of the Old School House was just amazing. Obviously so much thought had gone into it that we felt immediately at home there. Over the years we have stayed in many different places but the bed in the Old School House has to have been the most comfortable bed we have slept in (including our own) ever. The first morning, as is my wont I was up before sunrise watching the darkness, through the bedroom window overlooking Loch Linnhe, being gradually eaten by the rising sun. Two Red Deer Stags (one a Royal Stag and the other considerably younger) casually made their way across my view no more than 10m from me as they explored the grass verge on the other side of the road. As the sun was rising I was privileged to see an Otter, over 20 Red-breasted Mergansers, several Black and Red throated Divers, Grey Seals and various Gull and seabirds. At breakfast we reviewed our trail cams to see that the garden had been visited by Pine Martens, Red Deer Stags and some Wood Mice.
We were only staying there for four nights so we didn't even fully explore the estate but we managed to see so much wildlife including another Otter casually swimming upstream in the afternoon in the Glengalmadale River.
On the night before we left I wrote a poem/hymn which contained the lines: "Here shall, always be my heart, And forever shall it fly free." As we left Kingairloch for our next destination it took us hours to get to the Corran Ferry because it was such a beautiful day and we saw so much. I think I left a bit of my heart in Kingairloch and I dearly wish, God willing, that we may return there one day.

Kingairloch is a real get away from it all location and The Old School offers the perfect location to enjoy it. The views are outstanding with walking straight from the door to enjoy it. The cottage is homely, comfortable with everything you need to feel right at home. When we arrived it was spotless. Wildlife came right to the door with great views of red deer and pine martens every night. We have enjoyed it so much, we have just booked for year 3! Highly recommended.

We stayed at Kingairloch in October 2022 for our wedding. The school house provided a beautiful space for the wedding preparations and to relax and unwind in the days following the ceremony. The cottage was well equipped and we found everything we needed was there. The sunrise views across the loch were stunning! Thank you Kingairloch for making us feel welcome and providing such a beautiful location for our wedding.

Beautiful cottage, stunning location, fantastic early autumn weather.
Very remote so make sure you have the basics with you when you get there until you can go to Fort William for a large shop.
Cottage kitchen was perhaps a little short on some glasses/crockery but we managed.
We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to go back. This was our 3rd stay on the estate but our 1st time to The School House.

Our first visit to Kingairloch but not our last.

Excellent accommodation super clean ,warm and comfortable and equipped with everything you might need for a self catering holiday. We were unlucky with the weather but managed to complete some of the walks on the estate despite the rain and were lucky to see deer and pine martins almost daily.

Weather notwithstanding we had a wonderful stay at Kingairloch and will be returning next year.

The Old School was just perfect for a little a little family holiday. My wife and grown-up daughter loved the views as did I and our dog couldn't understand why it was so peaceful, he was very relaxed. Inside the house there was everything you could want, the home itself was very clean and comfortable, a real home away from home. If I had one little complaint it's that we had no internet for a few days and I specifically booked a place with internet for my daughter (young people need access to internet no matter how lovely the scenery is) I called and called and eventually got someone to send me out a box. All in all a beautiful place, everyone around was very friendly and we would love to come back.

We've been coming to Kingairloch for a number of years but this was our first time at the Old School. The house is in a fantastic, quiet location with superb sea views. It is warm and comfortable, the kitchen is very well equipped, comfy beds and large towels all adding to a positive experience. The weather wasn't very kind but provided ever changing sea views and lots of rainbows. Wildlife included otters, eagles, pinemarten, bats and unidentified marine life.

Beautiful location, stunning views, luxury accommodation, peace and tranquility.

We have been staying at Kingairloch for many years and hopefully will keep returning. The Old School provides very comfortable and warm accommodation with stunning views over the Loch. We enjoyed many enjoyable walks around the estate, and the wildlife never disappoints. The warm welcome from everyone on the estate makes our vists very special and memorable.

Lovely cottage in a fine location. Clean and tidy and well equipped. The smoke detector was beeping when we arrived, so phoned the estate and they had someone round to sort things within a couple of hours. Take plenty of bird peanuts with you - the local pine martens love them!!

Our first visit to The Old School, although we have been to other cottages at Kingairloch on several occasions. The cottage is spacious, cosy and well equipped. The views from every window are wonderful. Weather was mixed, but it didn’t stop us from enjoying walks all round the estate. Wildlife was in abundance. Stags, pine martens, foxes, otters, hen harrier, sea eagles and golden eagles. Numerous wading birds and garden birds. Susan was very helpful and we highly recommend her supper club. Looking forward to returning next year.

We always look forward to coming to Kingairloch, a magical estate managed by friendly, considerate hosts. It is a gem for anyone looking for quiet, nature, and a stunning location within easy reach of Fort William. The Old School has a view out to Loch Linnhe that is beyond compare, with very comfortable, modern accommodation.

This was our first stay in the Old School on the estate an it exceeded our expectations. We had two weeks of swimming in the river as it joins the sea right outside our front door, two weeks of amazing walking and exploring the hills surrounding, of kayaking and boating. And most of all just staring and absorbing the landscape, the wildlife and the silent stillness.

The Old School offers very comfortable first class accommodation, in a stunning location.
We enjoyed watching the deer right outside the house, the golden eagles circling above and the otters playing in the bay and we had a visit from a pine martin most evenings.
A couple of evenings fishing in Loch Uisige provided some good sport with a few small brown trout, making for a very memorable and restorative holiday, we are already looking forward to our next visit to Kingairloch.

Thank you,
The Moore’s

This is our second visit at The Old School and the our third to Kingairloch. We also stayed next door at Elastic Cottage. We absolutely love it here. The house is lovely. The scenery wonderful. The dog's love it. Peace and tranquillity. Fabulous wildlife and plants. Not too far from Fort William which is good for a stroll round the shops and exploring Nevis. Not far from Mull. Great location for exploring the Morvern and Ardnamurchan peninsulas. We had two wonderful meals at The Boathouse. Great food. We absolutely love it here and will be back in the new year.

The Old School is our second visit to Kingairloch. It's a beautifully tranquil place which stayed with us in all the years that have followed. Finally we made it back, this time with a 2 year old in tow.

Amazing as our first stay was, this time was better in every respect. The Old School is absolutely first-class: huge, spacious, warm, comfortable, fully equipped with an ever-changing view of Loch Linnhe which never fails to take your breath away. The lochside location works brilliantly: you can watch the cycle of the tide across the day and see how different parts of land are revealed or covered, bringing a different selection of wildlife each time. In the distance the mountains around Appin are variously covered with mist or highlighted by stray beams of sunlight. Whatever the weather does it always looks beautiful and we spent a lot of time just sitting in the quiet taking it all in.

Aside from the obvious fact of its setting there are two other points which are particularly worth noting: the place is very well equipped and has ample storage, it's somewhere you could hole up for a very good period of time in great comfort. There's no wi-fi but there's enough 4g for it to be tolerable. The kitchen has everything you could want - we cooked and baked pretty much every day and never wanted for any equipment.

Secondly the wildlife: we saw almost everything we'd heard of here - an otter, pine martens, stags galore, all sorts of water birds, buzzards and an eagle or two. It's part of the magic of the place that you will just be idling about and these guys will pop up unexpectedly.

Absolutely no question if you want peace, tranquility, seclusion and the beauty of nature but still want comfort and convenience this can't be beaten. Just make sure you pack as much midge repellent as you can lay your hands on!

The property was fabulous and in a most stunning location. Very quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed the walks from the doorstep as well as driving further afield. I’ve never been to the Morvern Peninsula before, it’s a hidden gem. Perfect to get away from it all. We were advised to take food for a week which we did. We would happily return and hope to.

I had a wonderful time staying at the old school in kingairloch
The house was beautifully done out and immaculately clean. It had a large utility room which is perfect for drying clothes after a walk and for the dogs to chill in. The main living space was lovely and the kitchen had all the things we could ever need
Location is like none other, I couldn’t believe the views and tranquility of the place
We will be booking again soon! ThNk you

Second visit to Kingairloch and the first in School House.
It is a long trek to Kingairloch but worth every mile for the seclusion and peaceful atmosphere you experience from arrival.

To watch otters whilst having an evening glass of wine is surreal.
Red deer looking over the wall and the occasional eagle in the mountains are all memories to treasure.

Our Labrador is still sulking and missing his daily treks up the glen or his swims in the river and sea.

If its peace and quiet and a break from the fast pace we all live at nowadays, Kingairloch cant be beaten.

Just hope these reviews don't make it too popular.

Paul and Denise

The cottage is lovely, superb position, quiet and peaceful, surrounded by nature and the local wildlife all too happy to visit. Pine Martin came each night - Feeding Tip: Likes grapes cut in half, peanut butter, whole raw egg, but NO strawberries! We put the food out on the boulder in the parking area and the front wall - marvellous to see such a creature up-close and completely unphased by us watching from the lounge windows! Fox, deer also visited during our week and we were lucky enough to see pair of golden eagles "sky-dancing" just down the road that leads to Strontian!
Kingairloch estate has some lovely walks so you can leave the car and walk from the door. We also did some interesting walks further afield and even braved quite rough seas to visit Staffa and the Puffins!
Can recommend a stay at The Old School which is extremely comfortable, decorated beautifully and equipped with everything you could need. We did not want to leave!

Perfect location on the Loch side, especially to witness the sunrise. Spotted otters and plenty of stags. We also had late afternoon visits from the pine martens.
The house was warm and comfortable and we were very happy to return to the log burner after a day’s walking.

The Kingairloch Estate is a beautiful place and the The Old School is a lovely cottage and so peaceful. Very cosy with lovely views and everything you need (except WiFi - but who needs WiFi when you are watching the Pine Martens!). The staff are very helpful and deliver wood to the back door when you need it. There are excellent walks straight from the cottage, from easy to very challenging. Our dog also loves it there. We had a wonderful 2 weeks in January. It’s a great place to base yourself as it’s not too far to get to Fort William and Mull, and explore the rest of the Morvern and Ardnamurchan peninsulas. We were very sad to leave. This was our second trip to the Kingairloch Estate and we will be back again.

The Old School is perfect, its comfortable, clean and warm...especially with the lovely wood burner fired up! There are numerous walks from the doorstep and if you keep your eyes peeled you can spot all sorts of wildlife, the highlight of our week was spotting otters in the loch on the coast road and having the friendly, inquisitive Pine Marten come visiting for his jammy treats!
Its a perfect idyll and we will definitely be back!

This was our third visit to Kingairloch but the first time of staying in The Old School, the cottage was perfect, superb quality of furnishings and so comfortable. The views were stunning, our dogs loved being able to go straight from the cottage to the loch. The walks direct from the cottage were amazing. We had mr pine marten visiting every night , usually around 6.30 pm so we had fabulous views of him on our window sill and outdoor table. We also saw red deer and actually were lucky enough this visit to spot an otter when we were walking round by Sea view cottage. We had two fabulous evening meals and a super lunch at The Boat House, a must for anyones visit. We just so love Kingairloch we have already booked for next year. See you then!

As ever Kingairloch is the perfect place to stay and re-charge your batteries. The Welcome is BRILLIANT, the accommodation is FIRST CLASS and the location is WONDERFUL where nature comes to you. This year we saw stags, hinds, pine martins, herons and may other birds just from the windows of The Old School.

This is the second year staying at the newly built Old School which is has all the features you could ever want to make your self catering getaway holiday a holiday you'll remember for ever

Peace and quiet. Wonderful views. Wildlife and walks.

Our fifth visit in as many years. That says it all. It is the King of the Lochs. Oh and the Boathouse is excellent too.

The Old School at Kingairloch offers exceptional accommodation in a perfect setting.

This was our second stay at the Old School and have been staying at Kingairloch for 12 years. This says it all really as we keep returning. All the properties we have stayed in do not disappoint in any way, but The Old School is exceptional - beautifully furnished, warm and welcoming, in a perfect setting. The views from the cottage are stunning and wildlife is abundant . We are always made to feel very welcome by all at Kingairloch and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

We’ve stayed in various Kingairloch properties over many years, now. The Old School was everything we could have wished for in terms of comfort, interior design and location.

A lovely cottage in a stunning location.

We liked the cottage a lot - it was well laid out and had all the essentials for a lovely holiday let. It's very warm and snug, and 'user friendly'. It is a tricky spot to get to so making sure you have information on the last bit of the journey would help. After a couple of runs you get used to the single track road and to look out for wildlife both on and off the track! The wildlife is one of the highlights of the stay - it would be possible to have a holiday just looking out of the window of the cottage at the wildlife in the area and enjoying the views and the every changing colours of the scenery. There are interesting places to visit within an hour's drive of the cottage and if you like the sea the various boats and ferries add to the excitement. The dog friendliness of the cottage attracted us and there are lots of dog friendly places around. The cottage does have a pleasant garden but it's not secure especially if your dog likes wildlife as our terrier does - and the wildlife tends to wander into the garden! We would certainly go again.

We had a fabulous week at the Old School with our Spanish Water Dog Rio.

The location and property were even more spectacular than the website shows. In particular there was a lot more space in the Old School than we expected. The property was very warm and comfortable, we didn't need to use the log burner at all. The views and peace and quiet were also even better than we had hoped - the perfect place to switch off, and get out and enjoy all that this part of Scotland has to offer.

We did amazing walks right from the doorstep and our water-loving dog was in his element the opportunity to swim in river, sea and reservoir and be off-lead the majority of the time.

Also, we managed to tick off all but one of my wildlife wishlist while we visited - pine martens & stags in the garden, wild goats on our drives around the peninsula, otters in the loch in front of the house, and white tailed eagles on mull. Just the golden eagle remained elusive!

The only downside - the midges in the mornings and evenings, we were fully prepared for that so it didn't spoil the holiday - but it might be nice to have fly screens up in the house so you could still have the windows open at those times.

Apart from that it was fabulous, and we left wishing we had booked to stay longer. We would definitely stay at Kingairloch and the Old School again, and don't hesitate to recommend it to others.

Perfect!

We have stayed in Kingairloch on many occasions at several different properties. We have watched the renovation of The Old School with interest and were very pleased to be able to stay there. It surpassed all our expectations. Absolute comfort to a very high standard.
The estate provided us with excellent walks, and we observed an array of wildlife. As always we were warmly welcomed by Susan and her team. Have booked for next year, that says everything!

One week was not enough..

When you board the Corran Ferry & cross Loch Linnhe you feel like you've left the hustle & bustle behind, your holiday starts here! Single track roads, barely any other traffic, stunning scenery & an abundance of cattle & sheep. We arrived at The Old School and we were all so blown away, the pics could never do it justice, the high ceiling, beautiful light fitting, cosy feel.. but the view!! you could never tire of it,the ever flowing tides, the wildlife. We saw deer, eagles, herons, grebes & the Pine martins were a joy to watch, pinching the food we'd put out for the birds! On a practical note,I brought the kitchen sink with me when it came to food, the nearest shop is at least a 40 minute round trip.We were lucky enough to sample the venison from the estate, the strip loin was amazing along with the fresh produce from the walled garden. We pre booked Sunday lunch at the boat house bistro,a beautiful setting and the staff are so welcoming & helpful with any questions so much so we booked for an evening meal on our last night, venison & fish platters plus the venison pie were a delight! During our stay we had lazy days,we took out our kayak, did some unsuccessful fishing, took a lovely day trip to Mull, easily accessible, and Sanna Bay where the silver sands and blues of the sea are a delight to the eye.The weather wasn't very kind, but,it didn't matter.. This place has already left a special place in our hearts, digital detox, never felt the need to switch the TV on,comfortable beds, spacious and lovely bathrooms, thoughtful kitchen equipment..I need to shut up now lol .. just go !!

We have just spent the most wonderful relaxing holiday in The Old School. Despite the name, it's a new building with ALL the creature comforts of home and more in the idyllic setting of Kingairloch. Who could ask for more.

We recently stayed at the Old School House on Kingairloch Estate. The cottage has been beautifully renovated, it's spacious and homely. The fittings and furnishings are of a very high standard and has extremely comfortable beds. The views from the cottage are breathtaking across the small bay. We had a lovely time and I would highly recommend this charming cottage.
