First time I’ve used Coquet cottage’s . Very efficient at responding to my booking which I did the day before travelling to the destination accommodation . Arrived early at property and met the owner Who just liked to check everything was just right for our arrival. Attention to detail was just excellent . Very comfortable stay and quiet surroundings Location was perfect as 20 minute walk to Restaurants and pubs in Bamburgh.
We have just had a 2 night break at Emberside. It is a fantastic house which felt like home form home. Everything you can think of has been provided and to a very high standard. The furnishings are amazing and the kitchen equipment, crockery and glass ware were all exceptional. We have stayed in Warkworth and surrounding area a lot over the years and this is probably the nicest house we have stayed in. Would love to come back in warmer weather to make the most of the beautiful private garden. Location wise..perfect for us as one of our favourite places to eat is Bertram’s and this is opposite...more
Decorated and appointed to a high standard, this Victorian town house is fitted with modern amenities and provided a "home from home" welcome on arrival. Spacious rooms, and furnished to a high standard, the property is highly recommended. Coupled with "finishing touches" such as a quality welcome pack (for both the visitor and pet dog!) you felt welcome from the moment of arrival. Parking was easy, and the property is within reasonable walking distance of the town centre. There are a couple of convenience stores close by also. The owners clearly make a real effort to create the welcome...more
A wonderful Christmas holiday at Puffin View - arrived to find the house beautifully decorated complete with festive welcome basket. Lovely weather allowed us to enjoy the seaview that surrounds the property. Our third visit to the house!
We have stayed in a couple of cottages located all over Great Britain and this one was the best! It had everything we needed, it was very clean and the location was great too. Very close to both the coast and the Cheviot Hills. The open fire place was much appreciated although the heating was absolutely sufficient even with degrees below zero. The hosts were great, very helpful. There are that many things you could do, we didn’t manage to do all of them. So we will definitely return soon.
The cottage had everything needed for a luxurious stay. The hamper was so well put together, there was something for everyone, even the Amber the cockapoo! We settled in really quickly and had a fabulous break. It was about 15 mins walk to the beach and the location was so quiet and peaceful. Very highly recommended!
Beautiful house in a great location for the beach. Coastal paths to low Newton and Seahouses and the Landing cafe and restaurant on the doorstep. The owner was really helpful before and during the stay. We would thoroughly recommend it.
This was our first stay at Nightfold Cottage but it won't be our last. It is a charming cottage with all you need for a perfect stay. It is characterful, warm and welcoming. It is convenient for all the local amenities. It is a good base from which to explore the beautiful Northumberland.
We had a lovely stay at Cuthbert's Cottage. The Cottage was very clean and well equipped. Rob and Gemma very kindly offered to stay another day free of charge due to the heavy snow. Great location! Would recommend to others
Lovely property with lots of homely touches. It was spotless and well equipped. Very nice, helpful owner. Good location for exploring the area and having the pigs, goats, horses etc on our doorstep was lovely.
Really enjoyed our stay at Alnwick Castle View. Great location and car parking was very easy. High quality furnishings. The welcome hamper was amazing....the best we've ever had. Will definitely return
Everything about this accommodation is just wonderful: if you’ve got as far as reading this review, and you still haven’t booked it… well, I’d say get your finger out and do so whilst it’s still available. Yes, it does look exactly like that. Yes, the location is brilliant. Yes, the welcome is as warm as you can imagine. In case you’re wondering: It’s in the middle of nowhere, does the broadband work? Yes, it does. And it’s very fast and stable. I like the look of that log burner, is it easy to light though? Yes. It’s the easiest one I’ve ever used. Light it. And enjoy.
This is a very beautiful property with fabulous views of the harbour. The furnishings are very tasteful and the ambience of the lighting is just right. The kitchen is well equipped with all the crockery, pans and utensils. If you do intend cooking note that there is only salt, pepper and oil in the apartment. Each bedroom plus the lounge has a smart TV. We only used one bedroom but the super king was massive and very comfortable. I usually have issues with pillows when I go away but the pillows here are really comfortable. There is an ensuite and main bathroom. Both with large walk i...more
The Dukes is comfortable, modern, warm with everything we needed for self catering. The welcome hamper was the best ever - so generous. Very convenient for exploring the town and further afield. We had a great holiday in Northumberland with a trip to Edinburgh by train for a day.
Horseshoe Cottage is the perfect little hideaway for couples looking for that quiet, relaxing break. You receive a great welcome hamper full of local goodies and enough household essentials to cover your stay. The cottage is spotlessly clean with all modern appliances. It's warm and cosy and tastefully decorated. Horseshoe is located in a an extremely picturesque part of Northumberland with plenty of wildlife to see. Alan and Christine are amazing hosts and nothing is too much trouble.
This was our second visit to Northstar. This modern apartment in a conversion of the former Malthouse is simply fabulous. Close to the town centre yet in a quiet location, it has the benefit of being walking distance from all the sights of Alnwick and yet an easy drive to the coast and other fabulous places to visit. The apartment is comfortable and well maintained. The owners are helpful, friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend this amazing home from home for a holiday break.
The Gingan is situated a 10 to 15 minute walk from Seahouses. It is situated in a quiet cul de sac with parking for two cars outside and extra parking nearby. We were met by a lovely welcome pack which was very much appreciated as were the fresh flowers. The property is exceptionally equipped, with everything you could possibly need available to you. We have visited many properties on the Northumberland coast and this was by far the best equipped. There is a small garden which we didn’t use because of the weather. The kitchen/ dining area also had some very comfortable sofas. There was on...more
This is our second visit to this cottage so I suppose it says it all .It is still presented in the best possible way clean bright and welcoming ,with two perfect hosts
It's part of the Country we have always wanted to visit and it didn't disappoint. Easy access to local beaches for walks with the dog. Local amenities within easy reach and if you want to go further afield you've got the Northumbria Nation Park. The house is spectacular which means you've all got space to get away from each other. We will be going back!!!
Another uplifting stay at The Alba. It's like being in our own little seaside bubble in a world far from the real one! The cottage is incredibly warm and comfortable, with such a beautiful view. We had surfboarding Santas in the bay on Christmas Day and the ever changing skies were just gorgeous to watch. We're looking forward very much to our next stay.
We had a lovely late autumn break, the weather was kind and we made the most of it, exploring the Roman sites and walking miles and miles! Having such a lovely cottage to come back to made the days even more special as we were always looking forward to the evenings in front of a roaring fire with a glass of wine.
Excellent yet again.
We all felt very at home at Hassock House. Very well equipped, comfortable and really nicely furnished. Everyone loved the beds and commented how comfortable they were! Spacious, ideal having the boot room/utility for dogs/coats/boots. Good layout for 2 families staying. We could certainly have stayed longer - would like to return perhaps in Summer to enjoy the lovely garden and outdoor space. Lovely local walks, handy pub, beaches close by, Alnwick too. Many plus points. Certainly recommend.
The house was fantastic and the attention to detail was beautiful. The hosts Lisa and Richard were superb responsive and checked in with us to ensure we had everything we needed and were enjoying our stay.
We stayed at Magdalene House over the new year period. A very comfortable and well equipped house in a fabulous location. We enjoyed walks with our dog along the nearby river Coquet and along Walkworth beach. Nearby Amble is an easy walk and if you want to go further afield a trip to Cragside Hall is recommended.
Such a lovely cottage to stay in. It is our second visit and will certainly come back. We stayed over Christmas and the property was decked out very festive with plenty of decorations and a lovely welcome hamper. The cottage is so cosy and very quiet with beautiful views. Only a couple of miles from Alnwick which has everything you could possibly need for your stay. A special mention to Lisa, the owner, who could not be more helpful. I would definitely recommend this property.
We have just spent a relaxing few days here. The cottage was immaculate, beautifully warm with a lovely welcome hamper. Lorraine was most helpful and we were easily able to get around to all the places we wanted to visit.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and comfortable cottage. Lots of thought and consideration had gone into making sure we had everything we needed and some lovely finishing touches had been added making this one of the best cottages we have stayed in. The extremely generous welcome hamper was filled with locally sourced seasonal products and was very much appreciated. We would definitely recommend Bramble cottage.
Lovely single story house in a nice village. The house was clean, spacious, cosy and very well appointed with interesting ornaments (including little hedgehogs)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stayed at the Mill Stone. The cottage is well equipped, very clean and cosy and Warkworth is just a short walk away. The owners were very communicative and made every effort to ensure a pleasant stay. We really appreciated how quiet the area was and had a restful break. Thank you!
Great location, easy to find and access with easy instructions before arriving. The place was beautiful, very clean and could not fault!…. Amazing facilities and utensil options. Beautiful view from the hot tub watching the sunset and watching the horses run around! Everyone loved it here and will definitely be returning :)
We were a party of 6 adults ( plus dog) staying over New Year. The Hayloft provided every comfort- all en-suite bedrooms and a lovely integrated kitchen / dining/ sitting area in which to socialise together without being cramped. Chatton is a tucked away rural village which we enjoyed walking around with the dog.The Percy Arms was very welcoming and we would thoroughly recommend it for a meal. Further afield, we had a browse around Alnwick which is a delightful market town with many independent shops and dog friendly cafes. We would love to return later in the year when the castle is o...more
After staying at Alnmill Cottage in 2024 it didn't take us long to decide to come back for another stay and to pick up Christmas week was a great opportunity. As expected everything about this cottage is excellent and it would be difficult to find anything else as comfortable. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas without going over the top. We are already considering visiting again in 2025.
We had a wonderful week long stay at the beautiful Cowslip Barn at Cavil Head Farm. The hosts contacted us the next morning after arrival to check everything was perfect, which was a nice touch. The house itself is stunning and peaceful with views over the countryside. It was spotlessly clean, spacious and the decor is of a very high standard. There is so much to do within a short car journey. We would recommend you talk a walk along any of the local beaches, or a stroll around Amble or Warkworth. Further afield Alnwick is well worth a trip. In terms of eating out The Masons Arms and Bertr...more
Fantastic property! Even though we were there during a storm, the property blew us away. Fanciest place I've ever stayed. Would love to go back.
The perfect house and location for our large family gathering. Walks on the beach, meals out in town and watching films around the open fire. Immaculately clean, perfectly equipped, super comfy so couldn’t fault anything other than I wish we’d booked for longer. Thanks for looking after us so well!
The second time we have stayed and can not fault it ,from start to finish it’s just fabulous . Very well equipped
We booked honey bee cottage as we had been let down by holiday cottages .co.uk We call coquette cottages at 3 and by 4 we had paid for and where at the property Coquette where extremely helpful and the owner was super in making sure the property was nice and warm and welcoming for our arrival Can’t recommend enough it’s a super cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Location is excellent. Lovely welcome hamper although we were slightly disappointed as it started on booking that there was also a hamper for the dogs but this was not the case.
A warm welcoming house ideal for a small group or 2 families to use as a base to explore Northumberland. We stayed in December and it was good to come back from cold walks to a warm house and a hot shower. The local facilities were friendly and accommodating and we will return.
Puffin Burrows was a delight to stop at. There was everything you could have needed in the property. It was very clean and a great standard. The welcome hamper was delightful. We would 100% stay there again. We also went on a boat trip to farne islands which was great and well worth it, but wrap up it's cold. Bamburgh castle was great also.
Our party of six and a pouch- had a lovely stay at Roseate House to see in the new year of 2025. The accommodation was very modern with everything we needed to make our stay extremely comfortable. Lovely comfortable beds with good linen. The view from the veranda was beautiful in this fantastic location with views over the sea. Nice to have the owner call/ message us to ensure everything was ok. Would certainly recommend this property to others.
We booked Fieldside House as we wanted space to have a break in Northumberland with our grandchildren and it was perfect. The kitchen was ideal allowing us all to be together while the adults prepared the meals. Having the park so close by was the children's favourite thing. It was excellent for their ages 2, 4, and 9 and it goalposts for a football crazy 9 year which he loved. Comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms and well equipped. We would recommend Fieldside House without hesitation. The team managing the place we're so helpful responding quickly to questions. All in all it could not have bee...more
Victoria Cottage was an amazing place to stay, the location was ideal right on the River Coquet, and it was immaculate inside. The welcome hamper was a really lovely surprise, it contained everything we needed for the first few days. It was nice to receive a call from Alan and Pat the owners to make sure all was ok. We will definitely stay here again when we are next in the North East visiting family.
Our first reaction on entering this property was WOW.The property itself is stunning as is the view and the owner has thought of everything. We not only chose it for it’s position but also as we are both in our 70s the fact it has a lift is a real bonus.A short stroll took us to many restaurants and we also used the bus to outlying villages and towns. Will definitely return hopefully in the near future.
A lovely homly cottage, great to meet up with family. Plenty of space so you don’t feel on top of one another. Loved the spinning globe in the landing window. Lots of lovely places to eat out within walking distance.
Seafarer is an idyllic holiday apartment in a perfect location. Excellent base to explore Northumberland.
Cottage very homely and comfortable with everything available to make a great stay, all of good quality. The garden lovely and very safe. Great welcome pack. The owners have thought about how to offer a special holiday. Would love to stay again.
Excellent stay, very comfortable and warm. Close to town centre and off street parking. Will return.
This is a well appointed property with a view over the marina and a parking space on site We have stayed here 3 times via Coquet Cottages although the property owner has changed. It is always clean on arrival with good quality towels, linen, crockery and cookware One en- suite shower and one bathroom with bath and over shower. One king size and one twin bedroom. The king size is probably ready for changing as it creaks a lot - did not on our last visits ( visits spread over 3 years) Lounge and open plan kitchen diner Oven, microwave and hob. Glass dining table and 4 chairs Smart tv. ...more
Brada House is a very lovely property, very well appointed, comfortable and in a great location for visiting beautiful Northumberland. The house is in a very quiet and private location but is just a mile from Bamburgh and the spectacular coastline. The hosts provided everything required for a great stay, the kitchen particularly contains all that is required to cook a full meal, plus plenty of crockery & glasswear. Our only slight comfort niggle was that the sofas are so huge that (being on the shorter side) we weren’t able to sit on them, we had to ‘lounge’. Not normally a problem, except t...more
Recently I stayed for a long weekend in this lovely cottage, along with my little dog. The cottage was so warm, cosy and welcoming. Within easy walking distance of the beach, a beautiful place to stay.
We spent 4 wonderful nights at this cottage. The home was absolutely beautiful, from the decor to the small touches from the hosts- it made it truly special. Mary baked us fresh bread, cookies and a cinnamon loaf, as well as spoiling us to a bottle of champagne for new year, so thoughtful and really made our stay. The surroundings of the cottage are idyllic, so peaceful and cosy, it really was the best end to our Christmas holidays. We will be back!
The Alnmouth Penthouse is a lovely property in a stunning location. Perfect choice for a trip to Northumberland.
Good, central location in Alnwick. Apartment roomy, well equipped, clean and well appointed. The only snag was that the welcome pack contained scones which were 2 days past their best before date, whilst the loaf of bread's best before date was the Monday of our arrival. That said we had an enjoyable stay.
Very much enjoyed our stay here. House was comfortable with everything provided including a lovely welcome pack. Only a stumble away from two great pub restaurants, an excellent cafe and bus stop to access coastal walking locations. Would certainly stay again.
Very easy access to pubs, cafes in village, amazing beach and sand dunes. Area is very dog friendly, beach and san dunes good for off lead walks. Fish Shack in Amble definitely worth a visit, good food and stunning location…..we went at sunset.
My husband and I stayed at Lost Lobster Cottage to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. The cottage is perfect and so is the location. Welcome pack was fantastic and there is everything you need for a relaxing stay. The cottage was spotless on arrival and very well equipped. The village is beautiful as is Embleton Bay and The Grey's Inn is a great pub for a few drinks. We ate at The Potted Lobster Bamburgh, The Jolly Fisherman's Craster and The Joiners Arms High Newton. Great food at all 3 venues, we returned to The Joiners Arms for our last night. Low Newton Beach was amazing as wa...more
Beautiful little cottage in an amazing location . Minutes from the beach one way .. great pubs /local shops the other ! The cottage is tucked away so really quiet. Warm and cosy with a lovely open plan lounge and kitchen which is very well equipped with everything you might need . Super comfy beds and great showers ( endless hot water !) . Just perfect ☺️
I recently had 4 nights at Pine Cone Retreat and had an absolutely wonderful time. There was just me and my four-legged friend so we did lots of walking, our routes were a little off the beaten track granted, but on all three of our walks we didn’t see a single soul. That said, it is January! The accommodation itself is beautifully presented so well tought out and so many lovely welcoming touches. It’s definitely in my top 3 self catering properties and I’ve been doing this well over 40 years! The garden is wonderful, lots of nooks and seating and of course the garden room is a real plus I...more
A warm & comfortable home in an excellent location which is why we’ve just had our 4th visit to Earls Cottage. It’s a few minutes walk to the town centre for shops & restaurants etc & only 10 minutes drive to the beach. The allocated parking space is an added bonus. The owners provide everything required for a comfortable stay, & include a starter hamper as well as a dog treat one. We will definitely be returning in 2025
Great house, well equipped. Good location, plenty of room. Appreciated the treats left for us and the dogs. We had a call the day before informing us that the house would be ready early which was greatly appreciated. V quick response from owner when we had an issue
Fuchsia cottage is perfect. It is very comfortable with everything provided. The beds are extremely comfortable, the living room is cosy with a gorgeous log burner and the kitchen/diner is spacious and well-equipped. The cottage has a pretty garden which catches the sun, even during our stay in October. The owner is welcoming - they left a hamper for our arrival and sent a text to check all was ok. The cottage is well-placed for exploring the beautiful area.
We have had a very relaxing holiday here in Harebell House. The house is spotlessly clean, very well equipped and extremely comfortable. We really appreciated the welcome hamper and complementary toiletries.
This was our third stay at Copperfield House and needless to say we’ve booked again for next year already. We love it! The house provides a comfortable and well furnished base from where we can explore the beautiful Northumberland Coast, while being conveniently located for town centre amenities that are found in Alnwick itself. It may sound silly but the bathroom is a total highlight for us. The copper bath is just divine after a day of exploring. The cosy lounge is also another big tick for us. Several reviews mention parking being an issue but in the 21 nights we’ve spent in this cottag...more
The cottage was lovely like home from home for comfort and we'll situated for lots of places. We used the kota barbaque which was great and kitted out with everything needed. Lovely beaches and weather was great as well. Great week and would go back again.
Terrific 4 night stay. Quiet and secluded with comfortable beds; well equipped kitchen and lovely welcome basket. Only a short stroll to the fabulous beach; walking distance to the Lord Crewe for supper. Best spot; very private with great view of the castle esp at sunset. Sunny days and clear nights gave us spectacular views of the Milky Way! Always assured that Coquet Cottages keep their standards high; great attention to detail and friendly customer care. Car parking was excellent; one numbered, undercover space and always found a visitor space for our friend’s car. Word of warning: securi...more
An absolutely beautiful cottage that was perfect for our holiday. Everything was amazing and we loved the gorgeous hamper and beautiful flowers.
We spent 5 nights at Sandy Shores as a family of 5 adults and our dog to celebrate my birthday and see in 2025. We were delighted when we arrived to find the whole house, including bedrooms, decorated for Christmas which was an absolute joy. The house was cosy and welcoming. Mike from housekeeping gave me a courtesy call to make sure we had everything we needed. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and everywhere was spotless. The view over the river Aln was beautiful especially when the sun was low and setting. The house was very well equipped with everything we could have needed. Aln...more
Sandpiper is a very beautiful property and is is cared for by the housekeeping team to a very high standard. The house is immaculate and very welcoming. There was a lovely welcome basket , fresh flowers and even the dogs were catered for. It is an extremely comfortable house with plenty of space. The location is nice and private and quiet.
Lovely large, but still very cosy, cottage. Perfect for four generations getting together to celebrate my 60th birthday. Lovely surprise to see a couple of Christmas trees and decorations up, making it all feel extra special. House very well equipped with all we needed and more. Very comfy beds. We all loved the BBQ hut in the garden. Easily seated all nine of us and a toddler. Only a ten minute walk to nearby Seahouses with its lovely gift shops, take aways and pubs/restaurants.
Our second stay at lane end. Log fire, comfortable sofa, great location, lovely big bed with quality linen, excellent value. Well equipped kitchen.
We have visited the Alnmouth area for a number of years. This is the first time we have stayed in Lesbury - just a few minutes away. Larch House is a stunning home and we felt at home from the moment we opened the front door. Everything was perfect with everything we could have wanted. Lesbury is a quiet and restful village. The village shop has everything you would need and The Coach Inn is certainly well worth a visit or two. A perfect week in a perfect home.
A lovely property in a great location. My second time of using Coquet Cottages and the service is still the same high standard, I wouldn’t hesitate to use again.
Lovely well-equipped cottage, ,with beautiful views in an excellent position to explore the Coquet Valley. Good, enclosed garden which our dog loved. Walk directly from the back of the garden onto the surrounding moors.
No logs were provided for the burner, it was hard to keep the house warm as the heating temperature kept being reset. Everyone appreciated all the ensuites and the wonderful garden. Loved our stay and we would have no hesitation in returning.
A wonderful holiday home just over two miles from Alnwick. The detached bungalow contains everything needed within. Superb decoration, three bedrooms and bathrooms, good quality furnishings and comfy beds. A welcome gift for us and even for our pooches. The gardens were fantastic for both us and the dogs. Thankyou for a lovely second holiday in your beautiful cottage. We would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends.
Fabulous location. Home from home, clean, comfortable, well equipped kitchen, lovely garden. Great for a family of 7- enough space for everyone to have a proper bed and their own space. Will book again . Best house we’ve ever stayed in . Warkworth is gorgeous. Beach is 15 mins walk and very empty. Can access coastal path easily . Lovely local pubs/ cafes. Lots of free parking .
We had a delightful stay in Virginia Cottage. The cottage was cosy and warm, decorated in beautiful taste and delightfully arranged. Every comfort was thought of, including a lovely home-made cake on arrival.
The settees and bed weren’t the most comfortable. The large dining table is too big for a property sleeping 2-3 people and is a little restrictive to get around. On the plus side the cottage was always warm and in a nice quiet location with a lovely view of the castle, the welcoming hamper was A1.
Lovely apartment, clean and comfortable. Great location. We have used coquet cottages before and this was one of the best. However wrt coquet cottages :we disapprove of dynamic pricing though as this prevents us browsing and thus booking up more holidays with you.
Wonderful stay in a well appointed, comfortable cottage. Great location wirh plenty to do and see in Alnwick and surrounding area. Delighted with the welcome hamper!
Well appointed cottage tucked away in Warkworth, with views up to the Warkworth castle. If you have dogs there are many options for walks without the need for driving, including the local Warkworth beach. In Warkworth there are many options for eating and drinking, from light lunches to succulent dinners, one that stands out is the Warkworth hotel, good food and service.
On arrival in the cottage was a fabulous welcome pack the cottage was well equipped and very clean . The decor was up to date and a nice touch with the Christmas decorations. Was very warm once the heating got established
The location is wonderful and despite being central the nights were peaceful and time spent in the lovely garden undisturbed. All the rooms were spotless and well appointed.
Lovely spot with everything on the doorstep. The house was really clean and well equipped, we would book again
The cottage had been renovated well but areas were starting to require some tlc. For example lots of wall cracking, some paint needing attention and a few bathroom areas needed some work. A couple of the carpet areas were also in need of cleaning or replacing We found the settee and chair very uncomfortable but maybe that was personal preference. We have stayed in Coquet cottages before and unfortunately this fell a little short of the mark. However the kitchen was lovely and the welcome pack a nice touch. We did also expect more toiletries in the bathroom area.
What a great property. So comfortable and beautifully presented. Everything we needed. We will be back!
lovely stay at a very warm and welcoming holiday home. clean, everything we needed in the kitchen. perfect outside space for humans and dogs, realy enjoyed our stay
Lovely little flat, very nicely decorated & furnished. Well equiped. In a good location for exploring Northumbria.
Our 5th time at Lavender house and as always, absolutely amazing!! Spotlessly clean and a warm welcome with a generous hamper of goodies for us and the dog! Great location with parking provides a base for many walks in the locality. Some pubs in Alnmouth shut in early parts of the week so check before you travel. Fantastic week before the Christmas rush!
Walerik house is stunning and a very sociable space downstairs and being able to take our dogs makes it even better with an enclosed garden which was great. You are only minutes away from shops and beach making it an ideal location . I would certainly recommend this house and I'm sure we will be back. The only criticism I would have was the heating which I felt was inconsistent as the bedrooms were cold the first night but the next night the heating came on through the night. The social area downstairs was always very comfortable and never needed to put the log burner on, the underfloor h...more
Perfect stay with amazing views. Cosy quiet apartment with many thoughtful touches provided by the lovely owner.
Perfect house for 6 adults and 2 children. Lots of space. Very comfortable beds seating. Huge smart TVs and Sonos in several rooms. Short walk to beach and a number of pub/restaurants. We will stay again. There was a very generous welcome hamper.
Beautiful house. We had a great stay, Ideal for 2 couples with 2 ensuite kingsize bedrooms. Everything we needed was there and more! We had some amazing walks on endless beaches and ate in good restaurants.
This property is super with well thought out accommodation and facilities. It's warm, welcoming and extremely well equipped. While its location is rural with no facilities within walking distance, it's not far to the coast or to the Apple Inn at Lucker for a meal if you don't want to cook. The owner was helpful and a follow up call after we arrived was appreciated, as was the plentiful supply of logs for the wood burner, of which we made good use! Underfloor heating as well as radiators ensures you're never cold and there are plenty of considerate touches such as toiletries, kitchen extras,...more
This was our 2nd visit to Wagtail Cottage. It's in a great location for getting around and the cottage has everything you need. The bottle of Prosecco was a nice touch. We will return.
A great house in a lovely location it’s a home away from home with plenty of space and nicely furnished. All the equipment needed for a comfortable stay.
We are repeat visitors to Riverstone. The reasons we keep returning include: location right by the river is fabulous (wildlife sightings this time included a seal and kingfisher right outside the kitchen), and well tucked away from traffic so lovely and quiet. Overall the house is really clean and comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen, and warm and cosy with good central heating and an optional open fire, which we've never needed to use. The owner, Rachel, is very responsive when things need fixing. The reasons we might eventually need to find somewhere else also include the location - not...more
Fabulous accommodation in a wonderfully peaceful location - 30 mins walk into Bamburgh. Ideally situated to tour around Northumberland by car. A quality retreat which is a credit to the owners. Highly recommend.
The living room upstairs greatly enhanced the enjoyment of the property with superb views from the windows and balcony inland and of the coast. The garden was spacious and loved by our two dogs. The property was well resourced with toiletries and kitchen consumables so we didn’t have to go shopping to restock. The location meant there is no pubs or restaurants in easy walking distance but Bamburgh was less than 5 mins in the car with plenty of food and drink options.
We found The Dunes very suitable for us, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. The house is brightly furnished and very comfortable. None of us cook with electricity and we found the induction hob an amusing challenge. We are of a generation who appreciate an instruction book as downloading an app is another even bigger challenge. In Scotland different Councils have different colour coding for refuse bins. More information on waste disposal would be helpful The large lamp in the sitting room did not respond when we tried to switch it on, so we brought a lamp in from a bedroom. The locks on both fro...more
We had an enjoyable week at Cherry Tree Cottage. The kitchen and facilities were very good. It's a sizeable property perfect for a family to enjoy. It has a good size garden and a lovely play area just a couple of minutes from the property which can be accessed without crossing the road. Didn't like the HIVE technology for the heating as we had no previous experience. However, used the hand held control unit to operate the Heating manually, with no issues.
We've stayed at an adjacent property before so knew the area and were hopeful that Coquet View would be of a similarly high standard. We weren't disappointed, it was excellent; beautifully furnished and well equipped. The service from the staff at Coquet Cottages is second to none.
The property has an excellent location overlooking the sea, is well equipped and is well maintained and well managed
Excellent place to stay - gorgeous house, great location, clear instructions and well equipped. Would love to come back
We have always stayed in Cottages/houses in the last 10 years of staying in Warkworth and this time we chose to stay in one of the apartments through the same company Coquet Cottages. Certainly surprised with how spacious the living space was in The Buttery and we were comfortable with our greyhound and there was plenty of room to relax and watch tv and also good space to have food at the table or on some occasions log on to the computer to deal with emails. The bed we used was extremely comfortable and we thought the decor and appliances were all of good quality making the stay a very...more
Excellent cottage. Very good. Clean and well decorated & helpful kind supplies. Quiet. Tasteful. Helpful and very responsive to questions about the property.
A great cottage in a brilliant, quiet location. We really appreciated the welcome hamper too! Thank you
Novelist cottage has lots of character and provides a home from home. Easy walk to Alnwick town and a cosy pub (Tanners) a few doors down. Cottage (well, an old school before becoming a library) was clean and tidy with everything you could want for a comfortable break.
Travelled here as a group of two couples, and had a fantastic stay! Downstairs is bigger than it looked in the photos -- great space for socialising. Great location for exploring the coast -- the walk into Craster/to Dunstanburgh castle is very easy, and you're also a short drive from Alnwick, close enough to do a daytrip to Lindisfarne, etc.
Pickwick Cottage in the centre of Alnwick was an excellent choice for us. Parking isn't always easy... but always found a reasonable place. The cottage was clean and very well appointed. Great place to explore Northumberland from. Would highly recommend.
A gorgeous property in the heart of Warkworth gave us a perfect festive stay. The property is cosy and really well equipped. The gas real flame fire made it even cosier. The welcome pack was fantastic and packed with local produce, a really lovely touch. Bedrooms were warm, quiet and comfortable, we slept really well. Its a little difficult to find but really secure once you do, perfect for our dog. There are 3 pubs and a few restaurants in the village, we loved the masons arms (great food) and warkworth house hotel. The beach is a 10 minute walk over the dunes and is a...more
Lovely accommodation with great castle views, plus good walks and restaurants on the doorstep. Jolliffe had everything we needed for a great short break.
Such a lovely cottage, very well presented and equipped with everything we needed. Perfect location in beautiful village with excellent community shop and pub down the road and parking on site ( such a bonus) It was a last minute booking and we couldn’t have asked for anything better.
We visit this property 3/4 times a year; I think that says it all ! It is in an absolutely ideal location which would be difficult to beat .
It was a nice property but not sure about the building that the flat overlooked as there was trouble one night and police were called so we left 2 days early as it was a bit unsettling. Flat was pretty clean although the balcony was dirty bird droppings etc. bed was super comfy It’s location was good for shops restaurants etc.
A lovely Christmas again in The Boathouse. Perfect stay with family . We have stayed here several times now and it never disappoints. Owner very , very helpful and welcoming - Thank you Danny! Nice welcome pack gratefully received also. Coquet Cottages kept us fully informed about our stay and are a great company to book with . (Only thing to mention is lack of kitchen utensils , -very basic amount of cutlery ,especially teaspoons and cooking equipment, ie baking trays (only found 1) , serving dishes, wooden spoons , which made it tricky cooking a Christmas lunch ) This is the third...more
Lovely cottage in a peaceful area. Very well equipped kitchen and great social dining space. Living room was bright and sunny with lots of comfortable seating. Gas log burner stove was very welcoming. Bedrooms were well appointed and decor throughout the house was lovely. The best welcome hamper we’ve ever received. This is our 6th different holiday home we have stayed at in Seahouses and was by far the best. Would definitely stay at Puffin Cottage again.
This is our second visit and won't be our last. We really love staying here, its in a good location to explore all of the wonderful beaches Northumberland has to offer. The accommodation is very cosy and equipped with everything you need. It is home from home and we love it.
Last minute decision to have a weekend break. The girls in the office were efficient and helpful. The cottage was welcoming on arrival with lamps on, a nice welcome hamper and flowers. It was small but comfortable for the weekend. Although after an afternoon on the beach it would have been nice to have had some logs for the fire
Perfect Cottage central location with easy parking on Street. Large living area with log burner and fantastic Kitchen and large garden.
Six of us went to Northumberland from January 13th to 20th expecting the same stormy weather as the previous week in Lancashire. We had expectations of the cottage but we were completely wrong. We took kitchen scales, a blender, crystal glassware and candlesticks for dinner. We only needed the candlesticks although we would take a longer tablecloth next time. Everything was there. It was an enchanted house. The dog was sad to leave along with the rest of us. We once rented a place in Coldstream which was like the Chateau D'If so this was amazing in comparison. Everything was catered for. We di...more
When we arrived the outward appearance was a little disappointing and didn’t look very inviting. However it is an extremely well equipped cottage with lovely furnishings and the beds were very comfortable. We felt cold some of the time and the water was generally not very hot. As an older couple we couldn’t get down to reach the switches on the electric fire. With all the little steps inside and steep staircase probably more suited to younger couples.
Everything in The Rushes was provided and presented to a very high standard apart from the lounge seating which was extremely uncomfortable and in need of cleaning. The sound system was very welcome and the kitchen was VERY well equipped. The beds and two, double bedrooms were extremely comfortable with a very generous amount of storage space. The welcome hamper was a good addition with some lovely treats and it was a real bonus to have fresh flowers. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again IF the sofas were replaced.
The Hermitage was a wonderful cottage, beautifully appointed, warm and very well equipped. The upstairs lounge had an amazing picture postcard view of the castle. The perfect place to share with friends or family.
The Bakers Dozen couldn’t have been more central. It was literally a 5 minute walk to the Castle and on the doorstep to the town. It had everything you would need. It was lovely and warm when we arrived and despite the weather turning cooler we never had to use the heating.
A very warm, cosy, stylish property in a peaceful setting yet only 10 minute walk to Seahouses. Lots of space for everyone to do their own thing. Wish all Customer Service/Care was as good as Coquete. From beginning to end, cannot fault them.
I cannot help but give this place five stars. The customer service began with a phone call in the afternoon of our first day, telling us that the cottage was ready for us. We were walking around the village with a couple of hours to spare, so this was great news. We walked in to fresh flowers, a handmade cake (delicious) and everything else we could wish for. The beds were comfortable, the sofas were comfortable, there were plenty of cups and plates in the kitchen, together with a coffee machine, and lots of books to choose from. We went in the hot tub, and were surprised to find flipflops...more
The welcome pack was truly wonderful and everything about Tower House just followed on to the same standard. Tower House is very well placed within the village and Warkworth itself makes a great base to visit the surrounding area.
Beautiful cottage in a wonderful location. Stones throw from the village bars and restaurants. The kitchen dining area is great for family gatherings but could be better ventilated as there was a strong smell of oil all the time from the central heating. Could also benefit from a bread bin. Bedrooms all a great size and garden well enclosed if you have furry friends. Great week!
Booked for a three generation seaside break. Excellent location. Lovely private courtyard for dog and toddler. Very well equipped kitchen for cooking large family meals Loved the VHS library
Firstly the cottage was amazing. The furnishings and fittings were high end. It was warm and comfortable especially with the log burner. A starter pack of logs had been provided. The human welcome pack was fabulous, mostly from M and S. The dog pack/ toiletries and coffee pods were non existent as I’ve said later. The location was absolutely stunning, a very short walk to the high street . Parking was interesting. There aren’t enough spaces for the number of houses without looking around. I see the locals have taken to putting out cones and I don’t blame them. We managed to park but we went in...more
