Nice comfy clean house that worked well for our family group. It's compact - bedrooms are quite small - but it's comfortable and everything from linen and towels to kitchen equipment feels very new. The house was nice and clean on arrival and the welcome baskets were a nice touch. Take care outside on the paving - it's not entirely flat and I stumbled a couple of times.
Tucked away in a quiet corner yet two minutes walk from a most amazing beach. Facing West means that the balcony is perfect for a glass of wine after a day out. and the living area is light and bright all day. There is a brief view of the sea and Outer Farne Lighthouse from a corner of the dining area. The bedrooms are spacious and being downstairs are a little cooler in the hot weather. The house is well equipped and very comfortable and I would return for another holiday.
We had a great week in this lovely, comfortable cottage. Everything was just perfect and had everything in it we needed.
Always love it here! The place is beautiful, always get a lovely welcome from the chickens too!! The welcome hamper is such a lovely addition, and can’t recommend the village shop enough, great pasties! I missed my fluffy robe this year, I rebooked without reading the website saying it was on request now so I definately won’t forget next year as we’ll definitely be coming again. Thanks to Alan and Christine, lovely people xxx
Lovely cottage, fully equipped with everything you could need for a great stay. Fantastic welcome hamper. We didn’t want to leave!
Beautiful house in a great location for the beach. Coastal paths to low Newton and Seahouses and the Landing cafe and restaurant on the doorstep. The owner was really helpful before and during the stay. We would thoroughly recommend it.
Very high standard apartment - clean, comfortable and well equipped. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!
Our stay at Grey Hens couldn’t have been better. The property was so comfortable and the owners had clearly put a lot of thought into making it so welcoming and a home away from home! Lovely quiet country location helped you to switch off from stresses of everyday life and escape to the beautiful Northumberland scenery and beaches.
Excellent property thoughtfully furnished and with all modern conveniences. Very good location. 5*.
Great cottage in a lovely quiet area. The welcome hamper was by far the best we have ever seen. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The hosts were great communicators and when there was a power cut in the north east they quickly communicated to information to us. Highly recommended.
The accommodation was extremely clean and well equipped. The location was excellent both for walking into Amble and exploring Northumberland by car.
An amazing cottage with every home comfort and more. Fresh flowers, luxury hamper, and lots of extras. Plenty of room to spread out and also a cosy area to be together. Just a short walk to Seahouses and the coastal walks. Would highly recommend.
Quay West is absolutely gorgeous. Everything about our stay was lovely, from the beautiful decor, quality furnishing, stunning views, to the very thoughtful touches from the hosts, which included a very lovely welcome basket. The information provided about the property was comprehensive and easily accessible, and right up to our arrival we were kept informed of everything we needed. Thank you :D
We have stayed here several times over the last 2 years. As a three generational group it suits our needs perfectly. Plenty space for 4 adults and 2 children. The views are wonderful. Very happy times in Low Tide.
We had a lovely week at a lovely cottage. All our needs were catered for.Owners were welcoming and helpful
The apartment was ideally situated in the middle of the town, and finished to very high standard. Owners very helpful. We would certainly aim to go back in the future.
Excellent property and location - peaceful and relaxing Property spotless Hen's roaming free were delightful - their eggs were very tasty Hamper on arrival was very well stocked with good produce Location is well placed for travelling to and from Bamburgh/Beadnell/Seahouses Would definitely consider returning for another stay and recommending to friends and family
A beautiful house, spacious and well proportioned, perfect for a family get together. Emberside is ideally situated in the heart of Warkworth. Wonderful garden with glorious views of the castle. We would definitely revisit.
What a lovely cottage, amazing view and a lovely host! Cottage is in a fabulous position in Amble, with plenty of beaches lots are dog friendly too! The cottage itself has everything you need, it’s very stylish and comfortable. It’s super clean, best part of is sitting in the sun room early morning watching the sea, loved it! Thank you. we are already missing it and thinking about coming back soon!
We stayed in Koru in a slightly chilly week in May and had a lovey holiday. The property is in a fantastic location for a tranquil week in lovely countryside. The lounge being on the upper floor means that you'll never tire of the view across the fields to Bamburgh castle and the sea beyond that. Probably our favourite locations are a short drive to the coastline from Beadnell to Alnmouth. Parking at Low Newton and walking north or south along the beaches is a joy. Howick Hall & Cragside were excellent visits during our stay. The only slight downside is the shortest walk to Bambur...more
Luxurious apartment. Fantastic welcome hamper with local produce. Excellently appointed. Very comfortable sofa. Plenty of free parking short walk from riverside. Despite one aspect overlooking the main thoroughfare it is a haven. Well situated for strolls along riverside, 20 minute walk to beach and numerous places to eat out.
Hassock House was a lovely place to stay. The house had lots of extras when it came to cooking for a large family, a real home from home. The house was immaculately clean, and the toiletries, dishwasher tablets, tin foil etc were all great additions in case you forget to bring your own. The decor was beautiful and the home very spacious. Our dog Purdey loved having such a large garden to run around in, and having a ball and some treats waiting for her was a winner. The owner was so accommodating and quick to respond when we contacted her, really impressive. The location was nic...more
What a lovely property ideal for a couple. Lorraine was so helpful. Lovely welcoming pack. Immaculate. Certainly one we would go back to. It was excellent.
Everything u would ever want from a holiday home. Can't fault at all 100% woukd recommend to anybody wanting to stay in Northumberland
We had a wonderful stay at Apple tree barn. Beautiful house, garden and lovely hamper on arrival! We would love to go back and the lovely weather was a bonus!
Beautiful house, fully equipped. Love the living area being upstairs, great views. Would highly recommend.
Magdalene House is a modern, spacious house just yards from Main Street in Warkworth, so handy for 4 places to eat and gift shops. Also yards from castle for lovely walk and down by river. Short drive from the beach too for dog walks. The property itself is very dog friendly and there was a welcome pack for our dog too. The house was comfortable, warm and had everything you need. We would definitely recommend this house and Coquet cottages (our second time with them) Everything you need for a relaxing week and you don’t even need your car if you just want a chill time.
Our stay at Sunflower House was great. The house its self is gorgeous, everything we needed for our family and in a perfect location. We would definitely like to stay here again when we come to Alnwick
We had a really lovely stay in this comfortable and well-located house. Beautiful outlook and well equipped.
A perfect second visit to The Mill Stone and will be returning in September. Everything is thought of to make your stay comfortable and relaxing especially as we have a disabled son with mobility problems as always look to make sure places are suitable for us. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful and the welcoming basket and flowers etc were so thoughtful. An ideal location in a peaceful part of Warkworth but central to all the local amenities. A really special addition to the Coquet Cottage’s portfolio especially as single storey cottage’s are more difficult to find.
First class cottage in a lovely area of Northumberland. Top of the range furnishings throughout. Excellent welcome pack - best we've ever had. By a road but still peaceful. Warkworth and the coast just a couple of miles down the road.
We had such a fab 4 night stay in this beautiful apartment, it was spotlessly clean with lots of extra special touches
We had the best holiday here, great location, cottage is so well equipped, lots of extra touches - as we've cone to expect from Coquet Cottages. We enjoy cooking on holiday and the kitchen was particularly well set up. The comfiest bed EVER!
A lovely place to stay and you can bring your dog along too.The whole house was so comfortable. Driveway parking which is a bonus in Warkworth, outside space was excellent too. Can’t fault it.
Beautifully presented cottage in an idyllic setting situated in the best small town in Northumberland. Everything that you will need for a stay in a self catering cottage plus a few things you won’t have thought of and were not expecting.
We had a perfect stay at Hemingways in Amble. The accommodation is beautiful and done to an excellent standard. We had everything we needed. The views are amazing from all front aspects but especially when sat on the balcony or in the hot tub. There are lots of places to visit close to Amble too for adults and children so we had lots to do. We also had beautiful weather. Hosts were kind and friendly!
We had a lovely weekend, relaxing in the hot tub, chilling with friends and enjoying nearby attractions. Drudridge bay, amble ships and market by the harbour and cragside. Shame the weather wasn’t better, but it was drier than the forecast. Lovely property. Just right for the 6 of us and 2 dogs. Loved the welcome hamper. Thanks
Absolutely gorgeous cottage. Well appointed and had everything you need. Lovely welcome hamper on arrival. Would definitely recommend this property.
This is our second stay in this amazing apartment and is outstanding in every way. The Penthouse has the most amazing views of the marina, river and sea, they are mesmerising, The location is great with everything you need close by, including two fantastic fish restaurants and an ice cream parlour. The Penthouse is extremely well equipped, luxurious and comfortable. Parking spaces are always available and it is very quiet. Amble itself is a lovely place and very friendly, a convenient base to visit lots of beautiful places nearby. We have enjoyed a very peaceful and relaxing break and will be ...more
Excellent cottage in a beautiful village Have been here before in a different cottage. The cottage has been extended to give you plenty of space. Two bathrooms both with showers one with a bath. The kitchen has been equipped to a very high standard and has won a gold award. The village is lovely a pub which serves meals and a very good local store run by volunteers. Lesbury is well located just a mile from Alnmouth and three miles from Alnwick.the other direction takes you to Warkworth and Amble.
The property is set in a beautiful location and is very comfortable. We were contacted by the vendor on the day of arrival, but my phone was set to do not disturb. However, the vendor had local information printed out for us, which was very useful. A very kind welcome pack was left for us as well, which was enjoyed. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone, either wanting a quiet break or to use as a location to explore Northumberland
Now we are older some higher comfy chairs would be appreciated and the mattress could be renewed pls.
Oaklands provided our party of eight (4 couples) with wonderful accommodation for our first visit to Northumberland. The house was beautifully presented, exceptionally clean, very spacious and well positioned for exploring Warkworth and beyond. Very difficult to find fault and would definitely recommend for large groups and families. The whole booking experience and the information provided by Coquet cottage was exceptional.
Wonderful welcome hamper. Spotlessly clean. Everything of good quality with nice touches . Plenty of hot water. Clear instructions about working everything including electric blinds & curtains. Upstairs bedroom quite tricky to get in and out of, up tight small staircase and you had to step over a large beam. But as a converted library it made it all quirky.
Three generations enjoyed a second visit to The Carriage House which was an ideal property near the beach. Four bedrooms and four bathrooms made it easy for everyone to be up and out early in the morning. Outside space was an added bonus. We hope to return again.
Oystercatcher is a stunning cottage tucked away in a beautiful, tranquil area. The weather has been kind to us and we enjoyed trips to Bamburgh, Seahouses & Edinburgh just to name a few. The cottage is absolutely superb and is a real hidden gem, ideally situated! So comfortable with every luxury thought of and fabulous decor throughout & which makes this cottage very special, even down to the welcome basket, expensive toiletries & lovely flowers on arrival. We should have been sharing this holiday with our beloved Weimaraner George, who had sadly passed away before the holiday, but wou...more
Brada House was the perfect location to stay in Northumberland. The house was immaculate, fresh and modern. It was well equipped with everything you could possibly need for your holiday. We will definitely stay again. Thank you!
A lovely homly cottage, great to meet up with family. Plenty of space so you don’t feel on top of one another. Loved the spinning globe in the landing window. Lots of lovely places to eat out within walking distance.
Warm and cosy-tasteful decor-well equipped Kitchen-private garden space-comfy beds-good parking 2 cars-the cottage has a lovely feel about it- we really enjoyed our stay. Will be returning dog loved it too- secure garden
A beautiful home that the owners allowed us to share. The attention to detail & quality of fixtures/fittings/ furnishing was exemplary. The owners have style…
Can’t really fault the Sewing Room, everything was of a good standard, the location was excellent for the beach, cafes and restaurants. Having the enclosed courtyard to ourselves, the other property being vacant was a real bonus. Excellent all round.
Arriving at gateway very impressive, best village location, pubs, restaurants beech. Entering Mariners extremely pleased with furnishings and cleanliness. Would highly recommend
Breakwater is in the most spectular location overlooking the marina and close to restaurants and shops. It was ideal for us as my husband has very limited mobility, but we were still able to walk to restaurants, especially the Boathouse and Fish Shack. The apartment is beautifully furnished with extremely comfortable beds and sofas. We have already booked a return visit for next year.
My wife and I have been holidaying in Northumberland for 20 years now. The best property we have used.
A home from home cottage which was situated in a very quiet col de sac at the western edge of North Sunderland so a little further walk into Seahouses than we appreciated. Coquet Cottages handled our booking excellently keeping us informed throughout the process.
Beautiful view of the harbour from the huge sliding glass doors and from on the balcony, where we could sit and watch boats leave and return and watch a variety of birds. Very clean and well equipped. Comfortable beds with spotless white bedding. Convenient lift up to apartment, clean stairwell and private parking. Delicious welcome hamper on arrival. Enjoyed the free pass to the local swimming pool. Quick response from owner when contacted with a query. Would definitely recommend.
Recently I stayed for a long weekend in this lovely cottage, along with my little dog. The cottage was so warm, cosy and welcoming. Within easy walking distance of the beach, a beautiful place to stay.
We spent 4 wonderful nights at this cottage. The home was absolutely beautiful, from the decor to the small touches from the hosts- it made it truly special. Mary baked us fresh bread, cookies and a cinnamon loaf, as well as spoiling us to a bottle of champagne for new year, so thoughtful and really made our stay. The surroundings of the cottage are idyllic, so peaceful and cosy, it really was the best end to our Christmas holidays. We will be back!
Excellent property, very clean and comfortable. It smelled lovely as we entered beautiful wooden floors throughout. Excellent central location in Alnwick.
This was an excellent property for us (2 people, a dog and electric car), fantastic location, we loved Warkworth and watching the wildlife on the river. Housekeeping left the property spotless. We loved all aspects of our stay helped by glorious weather. Only down point we can think of is, There is limited wardrobe space for 6 people but no problem for us.
Lovely clean spacious property. Great location. Fabulous customer service. The app is very helpful. The property is very well equipped and to a great standard. Really comfortable bed.
Enjoyed our time at this lovely cottage. Comments regarding tight access road below. Only other comment would be that the bath / shower was quite deep and may have presented a little difficulty to someone with mobility issues.
Excellent place to stay; so comfortable, clean and well equipped with the wonderful addition of the Kota, easy walking access to Walkworth and its beach and Amble; easy road access to other areas of Northumberland. Would definitely recommended.
Excellent and very comfortable property in an ideal location. Wonderful views. Already re-booked.
The cottage was in a great location we were a bit worried about the parking but there was no issue. The cottage was lovely very well equipped and welcome hamper great. I think that the check in time should be 3pm not 4pm as you lose most of the arrival day.
A fantastic well appointed property. Very comfortable. Lovely garden and adjoining woodland. Very easy to relax there.
We enjoyed a fabulous stay in Straw House. The house was beautifully presented, inside and out, and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. It was very clean and comfortable and the location was perfect for exploring Northumberland. The host was very welcoming and provided all the information we needed ahead of our arrival. I appreciated the quick call she made to make sure we arrived safely. It was a lovely personal touch. We hope to return soon.
This was our second multigenerational stay and we all enjoyed it very much. Love walking down to the beach and on to Almouth. Our dogs love the huge clean beaches and also the big secure garden. The owners provided a lovely cot and high chair for the baby who is just walking and enjoyed all the space to play. We had some great meals out but also some great meals in at the huge table. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped. Love seeing the glittering sea from the bedrooms.
Lovely house: everything you could need was provided with plenty of equipment. We cooked every day in the House and found all the pans, crockery, cutlery we needed. We have stayed in many houses and cottages over the years and this surpassed all in resources: how many games can you play in a week... or how many books can you read!!! Lovely large bedrooms with super views ... lovely cot included, once we worked out how to assemble it!! Beds were comfy and bath/shower spacious and perfectly supplied with toiletries... and what a welcome basket.. yummy!! The location was delightful: loved watch...more
Fantastic house, exceptionally clean, very well equipped. Comfortable. Quality fixtures and fittings. Great location. Highly recommend.
This accommodation is first class in every aspect. Every detail has been considered and provided for whether that be condiments, cooking oil, clothes washer tablets, shampoo, band aids, you name it and it is there. All the small details that guarantee perfect relaxation. The view is sensational and beyond compare in my opinion. I stayed in this apartment seven years ago and the high standards I valued then have been perfectly maintained.
The property is exactly as advertised and is quite beautiful, set in a lovely location. I would absolutely recommend this property and would return if staying in Alnmouth with my family. No problem to us, but steps up to the property and then stairs inside to get to the living areas could be a challenge for some and should be noted. Lovely views over the estuary from the balcony and some spectacular sunsets to experience.
We had a wonderful stay at Virginia Cottage! Everything was top-notch and in perfect working order. The cottage is beautifully decorated with charming finishing touches that you’d expect in a cozy country retreat. It’s the ideal spot for a relaxing getaway for two. The location is peaceful yet just a short stroll from shops, pubs, and bistros. While there’s no dedicated parking, we’ve stayed here three times and have always found parking easily at the bottom of the lane, so it’s never been a problem.
Lovely cosy bungalow in excellent location.Great for our two dogs Pub across road very handy and serving excellent food. Clean and warm with plenty of space for 6 people. Only criticism was bathroom for the twin bedded room the water not going down plug quickly enough and shaver point not working. TV’s in bedrooms a waste due to no service apart from Netflix
We had a wonderful holiday at No 1 Duke Street. The house has everything you need for a relaxing stay and more. The decor is beautiful, in fact I think it is the nicest holiday cottage we have stayed in. It is a few minutes walk from the centre of Alnwick so perfect for the gardens, castle, shops and restaurants. The welcome pack was generous and we appreciated the treats very much. We hope to return very soon.
We spent a very sunny weekend in Waleric House which meant we got to take advantage of the garden and balcony. The house is beautifully appointed and has everything you could need. We enjoyed Alnmouth, which was bustling as it was the Art Fair. The weekend was for a 60th birthday celebration and it definitely lived up to expectations.
This was our second stay at Wild Goose and every bit as lovely as the first. The apartment is beautifully furnished and peaceful. The owners very thoughtfully provide everything you could possibly need in terms of crockery, kitchen utensils and cleaning products which makes self catering a pleasure - although you’ll also want to make sure you experience the wonderful seafood eateries in the area (especially The Potted Lobster in Bamburgh village, Creel and Reel van on the dunes, The Jolly Fisherman at Craster and the crab stotties at The Ship Inn at Low Newton). The view from the window seat a...more
Eider Cottage holiday weekend in Warkworth. A well equipped, very central located house. Very clean & welcoming
Accommodation was very nice, we enjoyed relaxing in the conservatory and also enjoying a glass of wine on the patio. Excellent location beside the river on a quiet street and, being set back with access through the archway, very private. Already booked for a return visit next year.
We loved the location on the edge of Wooler, but still in gorgeous countryside, and a short drive to the coast. We loved The Milan restaurant in Wooler. The house is well appointed with a large sunny garden and the bedrooms were very comfortable and quiet.
Our stay at the New Dairy was great by almost all measures. The single issue is related to its location (which admittedly can’t be changed). On our first day we walked from the cottage to Bamburgh down the road, which clearly is the shortest way. However we felt that although the road can take two cars there is no room for pedestrians, no footpath or room by hedges. Most drivers were considerate and slowed / stopped if necessary, but there were a few who felt doing 50mph only inches from pedestrians was OK, clearly dangerous and pretty scary. Although there is a comment along the lines of w...more
Willow Loft is a couple of minutes walk into the quaint village of Walkworth and we were welcomed on arrival with artisan bread & butter & milk & orange juice in the fridge. Lots of thoughtful little extras like tea coffee & sugar and a hamper full of delicious treats. The kitchen is well equipped and the space throughout is light & airy. It’s very easy to kick back.. relax and enjoy the Northumberland coast. Lots of good quality fluffy towels to envelop us after a much needed relaxing soak in the bath after one of the lovely walks from the doorstep. The wardrobe..chest of drawers and b...more
Wagonway Lodge has been thoughtfully converted and the large central space - kitchen, dining area, sitting area running into each other - is large and airy. Beds are very comfortable but there is no blackout so we woke at 4am most mornings. It's a stone's throw to the excitement of Barter Books and a short walk into the historic centre, although the independent butcher has now closed, while the Co-op is low on fresh produce. We ended up driving out to the large retail park to the south of the town for all our food shopping. Alnwick Castle and Garden (separate attractions) are both expensive...more
The Coasthouse is an excellent accommodation/ great bedrooms and bathrooms. Large kitchen and living room - all the facilities you need - minutes walk to local pubs and coastal path Highly recommended
We had a great week at Saltwater Cottage. It is in a very good location, only a few hundred metres from the amenities in Seahouses, but quiet and backs onto fields. It was beautifully and tastefully decorated, and we loved all the artwork and little finishes. It was well equipped, with the exception of an oven-proof dish/casserole dish (we bought one and left it there!). Our only woes were the sofas (looked great, not so comfortable as they looked), and the shower (over the bath, definitely not a power shower). However, these were minor, and did not affect our enjoyment of the cottage. We appr...more
The house is well equipped in a very central location for travelling around Northumbria. Seahouses is a lovely place with nice pubs and restaurants. Lots of great walks in and around the area.
Our second visit to Riverstone. It’s a lovely house, tasteful decor & very comfortable furnishings. Super well equipped kitchen, really does have everything you need. Superb location with window seat providing hours of nature watching. Everything worked, everything was clean and well looked after. A real pleasure returning to Riverstone.
This was our second stay at Wagtail. It is a beautifully maintained property and ideally located near to Bamburgh village. The bedroom and lounge/kitchen/dining area are spacious and well stocked with appliances and all the things that you could need. The bathroom too is spacious, clean and the shower works well. Overall it is a modern property, perfect for a couple and ideally placed for exploring Northumberland. It was lovely to receive a welcome pack of essentials and goodies, which included a bunch of white roses. A nice touch.
Great location not only for Warkworth and the beach, but also trips to Alnwick, Amble, and Alnmouth. House is very well stocked and clean. Smashing holiday.
This is a lovely cottage in Thropton high up on a hill with wonderful views. It’s near the town of Rothbury so close to Cragside. The coast is only a short distance too. The surrounding hills are wonderful for walking and there is a local golf course. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable after long days out. Very quiet and almost isolated.
Great facilities. Perfect location. Modern light and airy house, with great outdoor area too. Really comfortable beds and lovely powerful showers.
Thank you for the care that you have obviously taken in preparing this holiday venue. We had a very comfortable week in Curlew Cottage which was pristine, quiet, very comfortable, and in an ideal location to access places of interest in the locality.
Excellent location to explore Northumberland with easy access to the A1. Very quiet location. Cottage is deceiving from the outside.
This is a very comfortable, spacious and well equipped cottage, ideal for our multi-generational party. The situation on the outskirts of the village is very quiet and ideal for exploring the area, there was no issue parking on the road outside the property but we did holiday at half-term. The play park which is almost next door was an added bonus for our little grand daughter.
Booked this accommodation going off previous reviews, on arrival the front of the house garden was unkempt as was the rear garden, situated near to shops, harbour etc so ideal for eateries, shops, quiet street, lots of cars parked but managed to park easily, comfortable clean beds, kitchen equipped with most of everything you would need, nice welcome pack, didn’t like the plastic table cloth, no toilet rolls but no problem just went & bought some, decoration needs some TLC overall a reasonable stay, having used Coquet Cottages for a number of years we felt this wasn’t up to their normal standa...more
Beautiful house with secure off road parking. The house is well located at the top of the quiet village of Lesbury. Surrounded by other properties but fairly private. Very comfortable and everything you could need during your stay. Didn’t use the garden this year but outdoor seating is provided which is great when the weather is good. The welcome hamper is excellent. Really nice touches if you are bringing your dog with treats and dog bowls provided. Very well equipped property with fully enclosed garden. You can walk to Alnmouth (takes around 30-45 mins) and it’s a short drive to the supe...more
Such a wonderful place to stay - the views are amazing - the Cheviots, the Farne Islands and Bamburgh castle. I have been coming here for several years now and it never disappoints! So comfortable and welcoming. The lovely personal touch of the owner calling to check that all is ok on the first evening so special.
This was our first family holiday in Northumberland and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beachcomber, has been refurbished to a very high standard, whilst in-keeping with the charm of the building. Its location was spot-on for us - 10 minutes walk to miles of the beautiful sandy beach, or half an hour along the costal path to Amble. A quick drive to other surrounding villages and not long to get to Lindisfarne. With much more to do and Beachcomber being a perfect fit for our family, we’ve already booked again for next year
The Sheil was a comfortable, well equipped and spacious base in a lovely rural area within easy reach of the coast, A1 and Alnwick working well for our week rediscovering this beautiful area. The super king sized bed and sofas were deeply comfortable, the cottage was warm and we enjoyed the log burner (plentiful supply of logs provided) on the few wet, chilly evenings. The weather was mixed but didn’t stop us enjoying Cragside, Alnwick Gardens and Treehouse for lunch, Alnmouth, landing boat trip to Inner Farne in glorious sunshine with Serenity Boats, walks from Low Newton and all the bird l...more
Lovely house for a 3 generation family get together. Well equipped and excellent location - 10 minute walk to Seahouses seafront. Toys and books were a real bonus. Our 4 year old grandson loved the Thomas the Tank Engine railway set.
A very comfortable home from home in a wonderful location. We loved it and would definitely recommend it.
Great location close to beach and amenities. Good for families and friends that prefer their own bathroom. Lovely bright property.
Good location, view and parking on drive. Well equipped and a lovely welcome basket. The Jolly Fisherman was worth a visit.
The cottage was ideal for our stay with our dog. Out in the countryside but also withiin easy access to a beach - Warkworth Dunes were the nearest.
Had the pleasure of staying here for a week. Superbly finished, comfortable with everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay. Rear parking a bit tight for our large 4x4 but once worked out usable if no parking opposite available.
We had a great stay at Seaview while walking the Coastal Path. The cottage was well- equipped and beautifully furnished, with plenty of room for six adults downstairs. The conservatory was a lovely place to relax in the evening sunshine. The location in beautiful countryside was in walking distance of two pubs and a tearoom, and within easy driving distance of Alnwick and Bamburgh. A lovely spot to stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at Pickwick House. The home is beautifully equipped and centrally located - an easy walk to Alnwick Castle & Gardens, shops and eateries. Thanks for a lovely holiday.
Everything we could possibly need was supplied. Co owner contacted us on arrival to check all was well. Our only complaint would be that the seating in the lounge could have been more comfortable, but an abundance of cushions helped.
Have stayed at Lilac Cottage once before but not in the summer. We found it very noisy with big lorries coming past all day! Cottage itself has everything you need & was clean & comfortable. Instructions for using the cooker would have been helpful but did manage to work it out! Garden area needs attention, weeds growing! Love the area a very friendly community!
Novelist’s Cottage is a very comfortable base. Local restaurants, Barters Books and the Gardens are all within a short walk as are the Market and High Street. The digital guidebook was invaluable for planning visits. Berwick, Belsay and Cragside were all within about 45 mins drive while the coast was 20 mins away.
Grace Cottage is a very comfortable apartment an easy five minute walk from Bamburgh’s centre. It’s beautifully decorated with quality bedding, furnishings and kitchen equipment. Generous welcome hamper.
This was our second stay and as excellent as the first. Very well appointed, upmarket appliances, lovely furniture and comfy beds. Great location, very easy walk into the town centre, and lots of lovely places around to drive to. Look forward to staying again.
Wouldn't recommend. Not a comfy stay, and difficult to switch-off from the road noise. Warkworth was a delight but if visiting again I would stay off the main road.
Fabulous place to stay. The views over the castle are amazing. Great location for travelling around Northumberland.
First time to Northumberland. Bridge Barn very well situated in Warkworth and had everything we needed. Very well equipped. Easy access to coast road and all the villages and towns. Lovely welcome basket much appreciated. Boat trip to Farne Islands from nearby Seahouses. Ideal for dog walks and swims. Glad my husband didn't take his golf clubs though!
Excellent all round. Alnwick is a great base for the Northumberland coast and places to visit inland, plus a delightful and interesting town in which to stay Pet-free and designated parking place - perfect!
booked this really quite short notice, and luckily was able to book the Tower Cottage from Monday to Friday, for two and one dog, love the communication by Coquet, kept well informed, sent the link to the online information for the cottage etc, really helps if you havent been before, as it gives you everything you need to know about the cotrtage, the local area etc. when we arrived on the Bank Holiday Monday it was quite busy in Warkworth, but was able to park at the cottage and then we got all the gear in, this is the second cottage we have stayed in with Coquet and they are always in a gr...more
We've stayed several times now with Coquet and holidayed even more times in Northumberland. This property is up with, if not even maybe the very best, we've stayed in. Spacious, well equipped, in a great location, quiet yet with lots on your doorstep and in easy reach. We met the lovely owners who were very helpful. We would love to return (and quite possibly will).
Seascape was a spotlessly clean and well equipped house with a fantastic view of the sea. It had everything we needed. The beds were extremely comfortable and the water hot. We watched dolphins and seabirds and had the benefit of beautiful weather. The welcome pack was appreciated and very useful. We were slightly worried about using the WiFi, as not sure if it was public. However a very minor detail that did not detract from the holiday in any way. Coquette Cottages kept us informed every step of the way and were extremely helpful.
A solution everything about this cottage was fabulous. The online information was excellent with everything we needed to know. The cottage was easy to find and perfect parking spaces. On opening the door there was an amazing welcome hamper and the most delicious scones. The cottage felt like home straightaway. Plenty of space for our grown up family. The cottage is close enough to walk into Seahouses for a drink or meal, but benefits from being in a quiet area.
After paying a lot of money to stay at this cottage, which was described as having castle views, we were disgusted to find that it was stuck in the middle of a council estate, next to a care home! This wasn’t made clear in the description on the site! We could quite easily have turned round & gone home. The cottage was hard to find & we made a call to the owner who did not answer or return our call so we ended up calling Coquet. Upon entering the cottage we found a lovely hamper left by the owners but that didn’t make up for the fact that there was dust & cobwebs in every room, which we took ...more
The cottage was lovely, clean, welcoming and just as it appeared on the booking site. A welcome pack was provided with all the basic essentials and more. The two bedrooms were spacious and the beds were all comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped with a power shower and a lovely bath (just what you need after a days outing). The steps down from the front door into the lounge and the lounge into the kitchen took some getting used to (maybe a strip at the top of the steps would be helpful if possible). All in all we had a really good stay thank you .
You cannot fault the location of this property, the views were amazing. However, it was dirty and the en-suite was extremely smelly. The cooker also did not work for the entire time we were there. There is also only a washer not a dryer. To give the owner credit, they tried hard to resolve the issues but we came home early. There will be a letter sent in due course to Coquet cottages, but I cannot fault their help.
We had a lovely stay very well equipped only downside was the pillows could do to upgrade them and also think about putting up a shelf for toiletries in the en-suite bathroom
Lovely spacious property in an excellent quiet location. Off road parking was a bonus. Close to all amenities. We had a lovely stay and hope to return. Many thanks.
The decor is lovely and as expected of one of Coquet Cottages homes however, having stayed at at numerous Coquet Cottages holiday homes, there were a few things at Little Red Hen House that could have made our stay better. The hamper was basic but I understand this is down to the owner, it did include butter, bread, milk, cheese and scones which were delicious . An even better if for kitchen resources would be to have cling film, foil and spare bin bags. I really don’t want this to review to come across as negative, instead what could be done to make the stay more welcoming. It is a l...more
Very nice apartment very comfortable and clean. It had everything you required in walking distance to the centre of Alnwick and shops ,castle and gardens.
We had a great few days with all my family celebrating my 60th birthday. Some nice touches, hot tub towels and flip flops were a great idea. Bedrooms extremely comfortable and kitchen had everything you could wish for. A couple of small criticisms: The BBQ wasn't great and there was only a half bag of coals. House details said there would be a full bag of coals in the summerhouse but there wasn't. The outdoor benches, swings and hammock were all covered in bird poo and green moss. Not very hygienic when there are young children running about. The guide referred to complimentary toilet...more
Lovely cottage very comfortable.Great location and lots to do and visit. Parking during busy times can be difficult.
Located very centrally in Bamburgh (3 doors down from the famous Potted Lobster restaurant), this is a lovely house which immediately felt like home for the time we stayed there. The owners had kindly left a little welcome pack - milk, bread, wine - all very welcome indeed after a long journey and having arrived late in to the evening. The back garden is a nice little sun trap for sunny days. The beds were comfortable and the children's play room was really nice for the children to have their own space. We had an excellent trip and will definitely be back!
A lovely cottage that was let down by some easy maintenance issues . The shower head over bath didn’t have a hook to hold it up high so you could have a proper shower , you had to just hold it and spray yourself which wasn’t good ! The shower in the main bedroom needed some of the tiles regrouted as they were black .It was also a very small cubicle that you could hardly move around in ! Sand was found all round the carpet in the lounge so the hoovering hadn’t been done properly
Everything you need for your stay is there at Tower House. Location is great, even though it's on the corner and traffic passes by it wasn't at all noticeable. Definitely would stay again and the team at Coquet Cottages were fabulous
I cannot help but give this place five stars. The customer service began with a phone call in the afternoon of our first day, telling us that the cottage was ready for us. We were walking around the village with a couple of hours to spare, so this was great news. We walked in to fresh flowers, a handmade cake (delicious) and everything else we could wish for. The beds were comfortable, the sofas were comfortable, there were plenty of cups and plates in the kitchen, together with a coffee machine, and lots of books to choose from. We went in the hot tub, and were surprised to find flipflops...more
Booked for a three generation seaside break. Excellent location. Lovely private courtyard for dog and toddler. Very well equipped kitchen for cooking large family meals Loved the VHS library
Cottage, was lovely in a quiet area, close to hotels and cafes for food. It was very clean, no sign of dogs having stayed previously, well stocked and the welcome hamper was much appreciated
