A wonderful stay in Alnwick. The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable. A lovely big dining kitchen which, as well as being stocked with the basics (salt & pepper, dishwasher tabs etc and even some milk in the fridge!) included a substantial welcome basket. The house has a large comfortable lounge with TV and three comfortable bedrooms. The house is a short walk from the town centre and conveniently located for access towards the coast or inland. Dogs are welcome and it is a short walk to the nearest park. Recommended for anyone visiting Northumberland.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Good to know that the owners are on hand to help with any problems. Clean, comfy and well equipped property.
A very warm comfortable house in a beautiful garden. The owners have thought of everything needed for a large family group. The boot room is very well set up for dogs with bowls, treats etc provided. The living room has lots of games and very comfortable sofas. Overall an excellent property.
First time I’ve used Coquet cottage’s . Very efficient at responding to my booking which I did the day before travelling to the destination accommodation . Arrived early at property and met the owner Who just liked to check everything was just right for our arrival. Attention to detail was just excellent . Very comfortable stay and quiet surroundings Location was perfect as 20 minute walk to Restaurants and pubs in Bamburgh.
We spent a very pleasant week at Alnwick Castle View. The accomodation was very comfortable, convenient for Alnwick town centre and ideal for exploring the wider area. The apartment was an ideal size for two and a large dog. It was well furnished and equipped. The kitchen was particularly well provided with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. The welcome packs provided us, and our dog, with some delicious treats. The secure car parking was ideal, just able to accomodate our car with its attached roofbox.
This was our second stay at Nightfold Cottage and everything was perfect, including the weather! The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay. We hope to return soon.
Very comfortable and stylish cottage. Spotlessly clean and a very friendly welcome. Beautifull location, we had a great time! Highly recommendable! Mick and Maya from Basel Switzerland
We made a very last minute booking and couldn’t have been more delighted with Oyster Cottage. It was immaculately clean, tastefully decorated and Ken and Andre couldn’t have been more welcoming. It is perfectly located for touring the beautiful Northumberland coastline and castles. We will be back!
If you're looking for a luxury yet cosy/comfortable, superbly equipped property, in a peaceful, idyllic location within a 15 minutes walk of Seahouses, with a Welcome Basket that is truly welcoming, with the delights of Bamburgh and Beadnell less than 10 minutes drive, then Cuthberts is for you. If you're looking for a portfolio of first class properties in Northumberland with friendly, knowledgeable, top notch customer service, Coquet Cottages can't be beaten 3rd time visitor to Cuthberts, it won't be my last
Beautiful house in a great location for the beach. Coastal paths to low Newton and Seahouses and the Landing cafe and restaurant on the doorstep. The owner was really helpful before and during the stay. We would thoroughly recommend it.
Our stay at Grey Hens couldn’t have been better. The property was so comfortable and the owners had clearly put a lot of thought into making it so welcoming and a home away from home! Lovely quiet country location helped you to switch off from stresses of everyday life and escape to the beautiful Northumberland scenery and beaches.
On arrival we were greeted and shown around the accomodation, staff were extreememly polite and helpful. Lovely welcome pack provided and all I can say is that I don't think I have ever stayed anywhere so clean with attention to details! It was ready to unpack and start our holiday immediately! The accomodation was also very comfortable and well equipped, the kitchen equipment provided everything you needed for self catering. Location was perfect, Amble is a lovely town with lots to do, plenty of pubs, bistros and resturaunts to cater for every taste, you didn't need to go out in the car if ...more
The Dukes is a lovely property. The apartment was clean and welcoming and the welcome basket provided us with some wonderful treats. Alnwick is an interesting town providing access to the Northumberland coast and countryside.
This is a lovely property. Everything has been thought of and we had a fantastic stay. I would highly recommend!
We have returned from one of our most favourite holiday / short break places - the Fabulous North Star in the Malthouse, Alnwick. As ever, we all feel refreshed and relaxed - the hosts provide the highest standard of care and nurture for their guests. This apartment is super clean and luxurious, lovely fragrant bedding, sumptuous fabrics and really comfortable beds and sofas ! The personalised touches from the hosts are absolutely lovely, and as a family of four with an senior dog, we all feel so well cared for when we holiday here. Thank you again for another lovely holiday week ! Would ...more
Horseshoe Cottage is the perfect little hideaway for couples looking for that quiet, relaxing break. You receive a great welcome hamper full of local goodies and enough household essentials to cover your stay. The cottage is spotlessly clean with all modern appliances. It's warm and cosy and tastefully decorated. Horseshoe is located in a an extremely picturesque part of Northumberland with plenty of wildlife to see. Alan and Christine are amazing hosts and nothing is too much trouble.
We have previously stayed at Driftwood and therfore had no hesitation booking it for a short stay to celebrate a 60th birthday. We were a party of 5 adults & 2 dogs so the property provided plenty of comfortable space for us all to relax after some long blustery walks on the beach. The sea view from the house is gorgeous with the house being in a very quiet area of Amble. All the beds were very comfy and plenty of bathrooms for us all to use without any queuing. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others
This is our second visit to this cottage so I suppose it says it all .It is still presented in the best possible way clean bright and welcoming ,with two perfect hosts
A lovely cottage located in a peaceful setting in the grounds of an old railway station that has been restored. Our hosts Peter, Deborah & Grace were extremely welcoming. We were allowed to see and feed their animals including goats, pigs, hens, ducks, rabbits, horses and donkeys. The location was within easy reach of Alnwick and the Northumberland coast with some really gorgeous beaches and plenty of castles to visit.
Another uplifting stay at The Alba. It's like being in our own little seaside bubble in a world far from the real one! The cottage is incredibly warm and comfortable, with such a beautiful view. We had surfboarding Santas in the bay on Christmas Day and the ever changing skies were just gorgeous to watch. We're looking forward very much to our next stay.
Hassock House was a lovely place to stay. The house had lots of extras when it came to cooking for a large family, a real home from home. The house was immaculately clean, and the toiletries, dishwasher tablets, tin foil etc were all great additions in case you forget to bring your own. The decor was beautiful and the home very spacious. Our dog Purdey loved having such a large garden to run around in, and having a ball and some treats waiting for her was a winner. The owner was so accommodating and quick to respond when we contacted her, really impressive. The location was nic...more
We had a great stay here, very comfortable and clean, lovely bedding and towels provided. A very generous welcome hamper also, thank you. It’s a short walk , very short, to the river walks and Amble is a 1/2 hour walk away.
The Hayloft was a great retreat for our family & dog. Its a really well setup and thought-through holiday home with lovely features, generous bedrooms and bathrooms, and well suited to its upside down format. Chattons positioning provided a central base for our multiple trips out to coastal venues including Holy Island, Bamburgh, Warkworth, Amble and Alnwick which were all close-by and accessible - would stay again.
Magdalene House is a modern, spacious house just yards from Main Street in Warkworth, so handy for 4 places to eat and gift shops. Also yards from castle for lovely walk and down by river. Short drive from the beach too for dog walks. The property itself is very dog friendly and there was a welcome pack for our dog too. The house was comfortable, warm and had everything you need. We would definitely recommend this house and Coquet cottages (our second time with them) Everything you need for a relaxing week and you don’t even need your car if you just want a chill time.
Lovely cosy cottage in great location. Owners very helpful and friendly. Lots to see and do in the area
The house was fantastic and the attention to detail was beautiful. The hosts Lisa and Richard were superb responsive and checked in with us to ensure we had everything we needed and were enjoying our stay.
Such a lovely cottage to stay in. It is our second visit and will certainly come back. We stayed over Christmas and the property was decked out very festive with plenty of decorations and a lovely welcome hamper. The cottage is so cosy and very quiet with beautiful views. Only a couple of miles from Alnwick which has everything you could possibly need for your stay. A special mention to Lisa, the owner, who could not be more helpful. I would definitely recommend this property.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stayed at the Mill Stone. The cottage is well equipped, very clean and cosy and Warkworth is just a short walk away. The owners were very communicative and made every effort to ensure a pleasant stay. We really appreciated how quiet the area was and had a restful break. Thank you!
Great location, easy to find and access with easy instructions before arriving. The place was beautiful, very clean and could not fault!…. Amazing facilities and utensil options. Beautiful view from the hot tub watching the sunset and watching the horses run around! Everyone loved it here and will definitely be returning :)
We had the best holiday here, great location, cottage is so well equipped, lots of extra touches - as we've cone to expect from Coquet Cottages. We enjoy cooking on holiday and the kitchen was particularly well set up. The comfiest bed EVER!
We had a wonderful week long stay at the beautiful Cowslip Barn at Cavil Head Farm. The hosts contacted us the next morning after arrival to check everything was perfect, which was a nice touch. The house itself is stunning and peaceful with views over the countryside. It was spotlessly clean, spacious and the decor is of a very high standard. There is so much to do within a short car journey. We would recommend you talk a walk along any of the local beaches, or a stroll around Amble or Warkworth. Further afield Alnwick is well worth a trip. In terms of eating out The Masons Arms and Bertr...more
If you’re looking for home from home comfort, this is the place, beautifully decorated, everything is of a high standard and the space is used to full effect. It’s a cozy cottage and very welcoming from walking in the door - everything you need for a break away. Welcome basket full of essential items to get you started - very thoughtful. You will need to drive to neighbouring places but definitely wouldn’t stop me returning for another stay. Great cottage and welcoming hosts
Very well equipped and maintained cottage in a beautiful village which has an excellent pub and a community run shop within 5 mins walk of the cottage. Peaceful location and the majority of the Northumberland Coast is within a 30 - 40 min drive. Alnmouth one of my favourite locations is 30-40 min walk away… we had a lovely short break over the Easter holidays and I would highly recommend Lesbury as a base and Alnmill Cottage is beautiful.
We had a perfect stay at Hemingways in Amble. The accommodation is beautiful and done to an excellent standard. We had everything we needed. The views are amazing from all front aspects but especially when sat on the balcony or in the hot tub. There are lots of places to visit close to Amble too for adults and children so we had lots to do. We also had beautiful weather. Hosts were kind and friendly!
The house was really lovely. Well equpped and spotlessly clean. Great view and great location. Coquet Cottages (Nicky especially) very helpful.
Great location with views over river and only 5 minutes walk to village centre. Excellent little shop and Post Office. Good welcome pack, milk, butter, bread etc. Very good for dog owners with dog towels provided.
The Penthouse is an amazing place to stay. Beautiful views! Very well equipped.& tastefully decorated throughout. We had the most wonderful time staying in this huge & peaceful property. Can’t wait to return to it one day.!
We had a great stay at this gorgeous cottage. This was our 3rd visit and we always find more to explore and do. The area is beautiful and people so friendly.
Beautiful house in fabulous location. Beautifully decorated snd curated. Plenty of room for large parties.
The perfect house and location for our large family gathering. Walks on the beach, meals out in town and watching films around the open fire. Immaculately clean, perfectly equipped, super comfy so couldn’t fault anything other than I wish we’d booked for longer. Thanks for looking after us so well!
I stayed with three dogs and my elderly parents - we spent a fabulous week in this cottage. It was very well furnished and full equipped. Secure courtyard was a huge bonus as weather was lovely. Highly recommend.
Puffin Burrows was a delight to stop at. There was everything you could have needed in the property. It was very clean and a great standard. The welcome hamper was delightful. We would 100% stay there again. We also went on a boat trip to farne islands which was great and well worth it, but wrap up it's cold. Bamburgh castle was great also.
I think this is the 4th time that we have stayed in Seafarer which says everything about it. Everyone who stays with us loves it. The view over the marina from the huge picture window is superb. Even if the weather is bad you can just sit and watch the boats, birds and tides. The beds are very comfortable, and there is plenty of hanging and drawer space in the bedrooms. Everywhere is clean, and there are bin bags, dishwasher tablets, cling film and kitchen foil in the kitchen. The welcome hamper was great. There was milk and butter in the fridge, and bread, scones, jam, a bottle of wine,...more
A lovely homly cottage, great to meet up with family. Plenty of space so you don’t feel on top of one another. Loved the spinning globe in the landing window. Lots of lovely places to eat out within walking distance.
Cottage very homely and comfortable with everything available to make a great stay, all of good quality. The garden lovely and very safe. Great welcome pack. The owners have thought about how to offer a special holiday. Would love to stay again.
Excellent cottage, great location, meant a super holiday in the area which never fails to impress. Coastal walks are spectacular.
Lovely apartment, perfect for our two guests with limited mobility (one human, one dog!). Great central location close to shops, bars and restaurants. Good comfortable space for 4 adults, and well equipped for self catering. Very clean and tidy.
Highly recommend. Super location for site seeing and nice property. Three bathrooms and nice layout. Two bits of feed back. One more soft chair needed in sitting room and a larger double in the top room would be super .. but minor points. Nice house would re book .
Warm and cosy-tasteful decor-well equipped Kitchen-private garden space-comfy beds-good parking 2 cars-the cottage has a lovely feel about it- we really enjoyed our stay. Will be returning dog loved it too- secure garden
Please see comments below, but we do however intend to stay again, excellent service, welcome basket a plus and milk/butter in the fridge, hard to fault
Brada House is a very lovely property, very well appointed, comfortable and in a great location for visiting beautiful Northumberland. The house is in a very quiet and private location but is just a mile from Bamburgh and the spectacular coastline. The hosts provided everything required for a great stay, the kitchen particularly contains all that is required to cook a full meal, plus plenty of crockery & glasswear. Our only slight comfort niggle was that the sofas are so huge that (being on the shorter side) we weren’t able to sit on them, we had to ‘lounge’. Not normally a problem, except t...more
Thanks so much for a great long weekend spent at Owl Cottage. The property was so lovely and the customer service from Coquet cottages THE BEST i've experienced. I've booked with many others over recent years - cottages.com, Sykes, Crabtree and Crabtree and this trip was the best yet. The welcome baskets were so lovely - all local produce, the bread, milk, chocolate, coffee, teabags, fresh flowers, scones and Jam and even a welcome basket for our dog - with a towel for her wet paws and lovely treats which she LOVED. Its those thoughtful gestures that make such a difference to your holiday ...more
Recently I stayed for a long weekend in this lovely cottage, along with my little dog. The cottage was so warm, cosy and welcoming. Within easy walking distance of the beach, a beautiful place to stay.
Place wonderful ,warm clean. Great free parking and enclosed safe garden for dog. East to understand guide, plenty of hot water.superb
The Alnmouth Penthouse is a lovely property in a stunning location. Perfect choice for a trip to Northumberland.
We spent 4 wonderful nights at this cottage. The home was absolutely beautiful, from the decor to the small touches from the hosts- it made it truly special. Mary baked us fresh bread, cookies and a cinnamon loaf, as well as spoiling us to a bottle of champagne for new year, so thoughtful and really made our stay. The surroundings of the cottage are idyllic, so peaceful and cosy, it really was the best end to our Christmas holidays. We will be back!
Our second stay at this beautiful cottage, stylishly renovated with many thoughtful details. Welcoming owners and perfect location in the centre of Alnmouth.
Very much enjoyed our stay here. House was comfortable with everything provided including a lovely welcome pack. Only a stumble away from two great pub restaurants, an excellent cafe and bus stop to access coastal walking locations. Would certainly stay again.
Just perfect! Great location, well stocked cottage with everything you could need and comfy, clean bed. Loved the bath and log fire after coastal walks.
Earl cottage was a real find. In a really quiet spot, a moments walk from the main street in Alnwick. It’s a beautiful spacious cottage with really cosy, comfortable decor, the host Victoria was so helpful and attentive. All the instructions were clear and simple. Easy parking outside. we’re treated to a lovely welcome pack too. In all a great place to stay, would recommend to anyone.
Fabulous property in a lovely quiet location. The house is furnished to a very high standard and immaculate. Had the weather been a bit warmer we would have used the garden which was securely enclosed with plenty of outdoor seating. The welcome hamper was excellent and by far the best welcome pack we have come across. I would certainly recommend this property.
I recently had 4 nights at Pine Cone Retreat and had an absolutely wonderful time. There was just me and my four-legged friend so we did lots of walking, our routes were a little off the beaten track granted, but on all three of our walks we didn’t see a single soul. That said, it is January! The accommodation itself is beautifully presented so well tought out and so many lovely welcoming touches. It’s definitely in my top 3 self catering properties and I’ve been doing this well over 40 years! The garden is wonderful, lots of nooks and seating and of course the garden room is a real plus I...more
Great house, well equipped. Good location, plenty of room. Appreciated the treats left for us and the dogs. We had a call the day before informing us that the house would be ready early which was greatly appreciated. V quick response from owner when we had an issue
This was our third stay at Copperfield House and needless to say we’ve booked again for next year already. We love it! The house provides a comfortable and well furnished base from where we can explore the beautiful Northumberland Coast, while being conveniently located for town centre amenities that are found in Alnwick itself. It may sound silly but the bathroom is a total highlight for us. The copper bath is just divine after a day of exploring. The cosy lounge is also another big tick for us. Several reviews mention parking being an issue but in the 21 nights we’ve spent in this cottag...more
Loved Lane End cottage, very convenient for everything in Warkworth. Lovely and cozy on arrival with a great goodies basket. We look forward to returning sometime soon.
We had a lovely stay at Fuschia Cottage. It’s in a quiet location and just a few minutes drive to the coast at Embleton. We parked on the road outside the cottage and had no problems with this. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The kitchen and dining area is bright and looks out onto the small garden - great to watch the sunset across the field behind the cottage. This has to be one of the most well equipped cottages that we have ever stayed in. It had everything we needed. WiFi was fine as well. The welcome hamper was awesome - we felt very treated by it! Terrific 4 night stay. Quiet and secluded with comfortable beds; well equipped kitchen and lovely welcome basket. Only a short stroll to the fabulous beach; walking distance to the Lord Crewe for supper. Best spot; very private with great view of the castle esp at sunset. Sunny days and clear nights gave us spectacular views of the Milky Way! Always assured that Coquet Cottages keep their standards high; great attention to detail and friendly customer care. Car parking was excellent; one numbered, undercover space and always found a visitor space for our friend’s car. Word of warning: securi...more
Perfect dog friendly self catering accommodation, located in a very peaceful spot, ideal for exploring the Northumbrian coast. Well equipped and beautifully furnished, we had a wonderful short break, the weather was fine and we were able to relax with coffee in the garden after long walks on the beautiful local beaches. The welcome pack was fantastic, with local produce. The beds were very comfortable and the en-suites beautiful. We’d love to visit again and would definitely recommend. Thanks for making this a memorable stay.
We celebrated a family birthday at Heron House and it was perfect for 7 adults and a dog. The location was great in a beautiful village with good walks and dog friendly eating places just a few minutes from the door. The house is well equipped, clean and beautifully furnished but feels comfortable and homely. The welcome hamper was the best we have ever come across! Parking even for 3 cars was never a problem. There are fast EV chargers in Alnwick. We would love to return.
The holiday house is set up very nicely for a great family holiday. Lots of areas to be together, large cosy lounge with log fire, conservatory, and dining room where you can all get round a dining table . Cosy bedrooms with very comfortable beds, small but adequate on suit bathrooms which are very clean and always have hot water. Kitchen very well equipped, and clean. Owner gave excellent information over the phone on places to visit, very helpful. Great area to stay ten minutes walk to the beach ideal for morning walk with the dog. Lots of areas to drive to, to explore.
Garden cottage did not disappoint, set in a lovely garden, not overlooked by the main house where the owner lived. The welcome pack and cosmetics were the best we have been given in rental holiday properties. Many pretty walks in the locality. The cottage was clean, comfortable and spacious. A very enjoyable week.
Wonderful house in a great location close to local amenities. We were a family of 13 and it was brilliant with lots of bedrooms and space for everyone. Everything was clean and the kitchen was good for cooking etc. The garden was a great space for the children to play with the adults enjoying the sunshine.
Just back from our stay here. Absolutely perfect cottage. Everything you could need. Location ideal. Absolutely stunning scones on arrival. Beds so comfy. Lovely and clean. We will definitely be back
Well located property with good amenities. A review tool that mandates a minimum length of review is frustrating!
We really enjoyed our stay at Virginia cottage. It’s location is great just a few yards from the river bank and only a very short walk into the village which has lovely independent shops and restaurants. The cottage is well equipped and very tastefully decorated.
The hour is very spacious and comfortable, the layout is good, and facilities are exceptional great stay and great place Alnmouth
We’ve just had a wonderful stay We are golfers so it was great to get back after a long day and have all the fabulous kitchen facilities, comfortable sofas and luxurious soft beds available to us The welcome pack and fresh flowers is a great We will be booking with COQUET cottages again soon!
A wonderful holiday home just over two miles from Alnwick. The detached bungalow contains everything needed within. Superb decoration, three bedrooms and bathrooms, good quality furnishings and comfy beds. A welcome gift for us and even for our pooches. The gardens were fantastic for both us and the dogs. Thankyou for a lovely second holiday in your beautiful cottage. We would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends.
Eider Cottage holiday weekend in Warkworth. A well equipped, very central located house. Very clean & welcoming
Second visit to Camellia Grove . This property is set in a perfect location just a stones throw from Amble town centre and the Harbour with all its amenities. Lovely and comfortable throughout. We most definitely recommend a stay here. Hopefully we will be back very soon.
We had a wonderful week here. This is one of the most delightful houses I've stayed in - everything is new and very high spec (the kitchen is brilliant, with everything we could possibly have wanted, including an ice-making fridge, a Nespresso machine and amazingly complete equipment - even a slow cooker). Before going, I was a bit concerned that the house might be noisy due to being relatively close to an A road, but the road isn't that busy and the house is really well glazed, so we never heard any traffic noise at all. The rooms downstairs are large and the furniture is very comfortable....more
The settees and bed weren’t the most comfortable. The large dining table is too big for a property sleeping 2-3 people and is a little restrictive to get around. On the plus side the cottage was always warm and in a nice quiet location with a lovely view of the castle, the welcoming hamper was A1.
Another week in this excellent apartment. Very comfortable, and wanting for nothing (except perhaps a ‘nest’ of small tables to go next to the chairs).. Weather was perfect and we saw more of Northumberland, its wildlife and beauty. Pity our stay was only a week, we will be back. Thank you.
The Coasthouse is an excellent accommodation/ great bedrooms and bathrooms. Large kitchen and living room - all the facilities you need - minutes walk to local pubs and coastal path Highly recommended
Sunny cottage is a lovely 2 bedroom cottage. Really cosy and perfect location for walking into warkworth.
We had a great week at Saltwater Cottage. It is in a very good location, only a few hundred metres from the amenities in Seahouses, but quiet and backs onto fields. It was beautifully and tastefully decorated, and we loved all the artwork and little finishes. It was well equipped, with the exception of an oven-proof dish/casserole dish (we bought one and left it there!). Our only woes were the sofas (looked great, not so comfortable as they looked), and the shower (over the bath, definitely not a power shower). However, these were minor, and did not affect our enjoyment of the cottage. We appr...more
The house is superb - well finished and in excellent condition. Everything that was there was great and of high quality, and I'd happily stay again and for longer. Really super place.
Wood cottage is in a stunning location with extensive views of the valley below. There is a path through the owner’s wood at the back of the cottage which leads to the summit of the hill offering stunning 360 degree views of the surrounding hills. The village of Thopton is a five minute drive away with one pub and a well stocked Spar. The nearby small town of Rothbury is lovely, with a good selection iof shops and pubs & places to eat.
We stayed in Wild Goose early April, comfortable property, well equipped, 2 minute walk into Bamburgh. Great views from window seat. Nice garden with summerhouse that guests could use.
Thoughtfully equipped and designed proerty. Cosy on arrival and a generous welcome pack together with toiletries for use. The owner was available by text if necessary and clearly wants guests to enjoy their stay. The only slight down side is parking. Parking is on road and although the space outside the house was free it's on the end of the road where it joins a busy road and a camper van parked across from No. 1 Duke Street makes it impossible to park except partially on the pavement. The owmer requests that you don't block the pavement. A friend who lives locally says the camper van ...more
Cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Lovely views across the fields. Helpful call from host when we arrived. Welcome pack with essentials was a nice touch. Very close to lots of lovely coastal villages. Would highly recommend.
As usual we’ve had an amazing stay at Riverstone, it’s a real home from home for us. After being out all day in the typical March weather, it’s lovely to sit and relax with afternoon tea and cake all provided in a well stocked hamper or maybe watch the birds on the river from the window seat. Walk around the corner to dog friendly places to eat and then a quick evening stroll along the river with the dogs to finish off the day. Snuggle up in comfortable beds with lovely bedding and let sleep take over. Eat, Sleep, Repeat
Willow loft is a beautiful, comfortable base for exploring the delights of Northumberland. We had everything we needed and more.
Beautiful house. We had a great stay, Ideal for 2 couples with 2 ensuite kingsize bedrooms. Everything we needed was there and more! We had some amazing walks on endless beaches and ate in good restaurants.
Lavender house is a very comfortable property with plenty of living space (there was only 2 of us), it was nice and clean on arrival and the hamper was a nice to have. Its location is excellent being only a few minutes walk from the village and beach. We would have liked a grab handle or shower mat in at least one of the bathrooms, and perhaps a door mat to keep the entrance porch clean but these are small issues, we would definitely stay again.
This was our 2nd visit to Wagtail Cottage. It's in a great location for getting around and the cottage has everything you need. The bottle of Prosecco was a nice touch. We will return.
Fabulous accommodation in a wonderfully peaceful location - 30 mins walk into Bamburgh. Ideally situated to tour around Northumberland by car. A quality retreat which is a credit to the owners. Highly recommend.
A wonderful property with all the essentials provided. The welcome pack was a lovely touch, and the beds were extremely comfortable. However, adjusting the heating was a bit tricky, even after reading the instructions.
We had an enjoyable week at Cherry Tree Cottage. The kitchen and facilities were very good. It's a sizeable property perfect for a family to enjoy. It has a good size garden and a lovely play area just a couple of minutes from the property which can be accessed without crossing the road. Didn't like the HIVE technology for the heating as we had no previous experience. However, used the hand held control unit to operate the Heating manually, with no issues.
Lovely house for a 3 generation family get together. Well equipped and excellent location - 10 minute walk to Seahouses seafront. Toys and books were a real bonus. Our 4 year old grandson loved the Thomas the Tank Engine railway set.
could do with updating decor etc, larger tv .skyfall next door as example.however prefer this cottage, dog friendly and larger garden.still would book again
We enjoyed a great stay in this beautiful and comfortable riverside property. The house was very well equipped and had nice outdoor spaces. The location is great for river and beach walks and there are some nice places to eat in the village too.
Good location, view and parking on drive. Well equipped and a lovely welcome basket. The Jolly Fisherman was worth a visit.
Spacious holiday accommodation. Comfortable to relax and enjoy the sea view with local pubs, restaurants and shops all within a short walk.
Everything we could possibly need was supplied. Co owner contacted us on arrival to check all was well. Our only complaint would be that the seating in the lounge could have been more comfortable, but an abundance of cushions helped.
Excellent place to stay - gorgeous house, great location, clear instructions and well equipped. Would love to come back
Being photographers the location was perfect for us. Property was warm and comfortable and we found the loft bedroom quite quirky. Parking was a bit tight but ok for 2 cars. Feedback for owners - would suggest instruction sheets are filed in plastic sheets in a folder as we initially could not find the cooker instructions as they had been folded inside other documents. Secondly, we suspect the grouting on the floor in the loft shower room needs attention as it looks as though it is on the verge of leaking. Otherwise, everything was excellent. We intend to return to Northumberland in the futu...more
Grace Cottage is a very comfortable apartment an easy five minute walk from Bamburgh’s centre. It’s beautifully decorated with quality bedding, furnishings and kitchen equipment. Generous welcome hamper.
Just what I needed, a few days away peace and quite. Alnwick is a beautiful town and this property is just wow, close to the town centre everything is within a few minutes stroll. The Novelist cottage is great, warm, clean and the welcome pack is outstanding! A lovely, lovely place.
A great cottage in a brilliant, quiet location. We really appreciated the welcome hamper too! Thank you
This stylish and comfortable cottage was ideally located in a lovely, friendly village which was a perfect base for exploring the Northumberland coast path. Our walk from Craster to Low Newton was the highlight of our stay. The local community-run shop was an inspiration from other villages.
Pickwick house is perfectly located for walking around Alnwick and heading out for day trips. It feels homely especially with the efficient log burner going, has wonderfully hot water and the best equipped kitchen we’ve found. There is a surprising amount of noise from the road but it didn’t stop our children (2,6 and 8) sleeping. This was probably aided by the shutters making the rooms really dark for sleeping. We were able to park on the adjoining streets without an issue but I think in busier times this may be a struggle. We would definitely recommend Pickwick house.
A gorgeous property in the heart of Warkworth gave us a perfect festive stay. The property is cosy and really well equipped. The gas real flame fire made it even cosier. The welcome pack was fantastic and packed with local produce, a really lovely touch. Bedrooms were warm, quiet and comfortable, we slept really well. Its a little difficult to find but really secure once you do, perfect for our dog. There are 3 pubs and a few restaurants in the village, we loved the masons arms (great food) and warkworth house hotel. The beach is a 10 minute walk over the dunes and is a...more
Lovely accommodation with great castle views, plus good walks and restaurants on the doorstep. Jolliffe had everything we needed for a great short break.
Very enjoyable stay. Lovely apartment, clean, well presented, great location, comfy bed and quiet. Only one very small gripe would be the sofa could be a bit more comfortable.
A lovely base for exploring the area. Enjoyed being able to see the sea and listening to the calm. We were blessed with great weather but would not be put off visiting during the colder months and the house was very welcoming. The harbour village was lovely and everyone very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely visit again.
We've stayed several times now with Coquet and holidayed even more times in Northumberland. This property is up with, if not even maybe the very best, we've stayed in. Spacious, well equipped, in a great location, quiet yet with lots on your doorstep and in easy reach. We met the lovely owners who were very helpful. We would love to return (and quite possibly will).
A fabulous cottage with everything and more than we needed. Excellent position in the village with stunning views of the castle. So wonderful we could bring our dog with us as well. We loved it and will hopefully return for a 2nd visit ❤️
Lovely. A great stay. Super location. Great information. Fabulous welcome. Clean and cosy. Add a rain shower to the hand held device in the ensuite. Provide a proper shower over the bath to enhance the main bathroom. This looks as if it is a company policy throughout the properties. Not sure why.
This is our second visit and won't be our last. We really love staying here, its in a good location to explore all of the wonderful beaches Northumberland has to offer. The accommodation is very cosy and equipped with everything you need. It is home from home and we love it.
Perfect Cottage central location with easy parking on Street. Large living area with log burner and fantastic Kitchen and large garden.
When we arrived the outward appearance was a little disappointing and didn’t look very inviting. However it is an extremely well equipped cottage with lovely furnishings and the beds were very comfortable. We felt cold some of the time and the water was generally not very hot. As an older couple we couldn’t get down to reach the switches on the electric fire. With all the little steps inside and steep staircase probably more suited to younger couples.
Lovely spacious property in an excellent quiet location. Off road parking was a bonus. Close to all amenities. We had a lovely stay and hope to return. Many thanks.
Great location for a weekend away with family & friends. Walks on doorstep as well as a short drive too Bamburgh to enjoy the glorious beach. Well equipped kitchen with plenty enough plates, cups glasses etc.... Hot tub was a great addition but it was slightly tired, with a head/neck pad missing and others that kept floating off whilst the hot tub was on. Summer house wasn't tidy which meant in the spring sun we weren't able to sit out and enjoy the garden.
Nice cottage with large rooms. A lovely place to stay in the centre of Bamburgh so it is handy for pubs and the beach.
The Bakers Dozen couldn’t have been more central. It was literally a 5 minute walk to the Castle and on the doorstep to the town. It had everything you would need. It was lovely and warm when we arrived and despite the weather turning cooler we never had to use the heating.
We based ourselves for a week at Longstone Cottage in order that we could explore Northumbria.. it is a well maintained cottage, very comfortable, good quality and the team at Coquet Cottages leave a lovely welcome hamper for both you and for your dog. You are exactly half a mile from the centre of Seahouses. The town offers a range of places to eat or get take aways from. The best pubs to have a drink and eat in are the Black Swan Inn and.The Olde Ship Inn, but I strongly recommend you book as they get very busy. Both have areas where you can take your dog inside. The town has a reasona...more
Everything you need for your stay is there at Tower House. Location is great, even though it's on the corner and traffic passes by it wasn't at all noticeable. Definitely would stay again and the team at Coquet Cottages were fabulous
having stayed in several coquet properties a certain standard has come to be expected. This property is not quite up to that standard yet. a lovely apartment, excellent location and parking a bonus, but little things let it down. No hand towels just 2 large bath sheets, difficult to dry hair with such a large towel. only 2 dishwasher tabs, don't expect a full weeks supply but 2 a little mean considering i had to wash several mugs from the cupboard and a dirty plate left in the dishwasher. plastic tumblers a bit of a turn off, but there were some glass ones. On the plus side, the bed w...more
I cannot help but give this place five stars. The customer service began with a phone call in the afternoon of our first day, telling us that the cottage was ready for us. We were walking around the village with a couple of hours to spare, so this was great news. We walked in to fresh flowers, a handmade cake (delicious) and everything else we could wish for. The beds were comfortable, the sofas were comfortable, there were plenty of cups and plates in the kitchen, together with a coffee machine, and lots of books to choose from. We went in the hot tub, and were surprised to find flipflops...more
Beautiful cottage in a wonderful location. Stones throw from the village bars and restaurants. The kitchen dining area is great for family gatherings but could be better ventilated as there was a strong smell of oil all the time from the central heating. Could also benefit from a bread bin. Bedrooms all a great size and garden well enclosed if you have furry friends. Great week!
Booked for a three generation seaside break. Excellent location. Lovely private courtyard for dog and toddler. Very well equipped kitchen for cooking large family meals Loved the VHS library
This cottage was marketed as being luxury accommodation-it was not.The main feature was the kitchen diner which was of a decent size with a good sized table and chairs-however there were no place mats for the table or sufficient coasters to enhance the dining experience. There were too many artificial flowers in large vases making the place look cluttered and pictures were just stood up on the sideboard not on the walls The sitting area was minute when seated it was almost impossible to get up from the settee and walk out to the kitchen around the table in front of the settee-if the fire ...more
