This cottage was marketed as being luxury accommodation-it was not.The main feature was the kitchen diner which was of a decent size with a good sized table and chairs-however there were no place mats for the table or sufficient coasters to enhance
the dining experience. There were too many artificial flowers in large vases making the place look cluttered and pictures were just
stood up on the sideboard not on the walls
The sitting area was minute when seated it was almost impossible to get up from the settee and walk out to the kitchen around the
table in front of the settee-if the fire was going it would be a hazard!!!
The main bedroom was of a good size but had no wardrobe so you had to use the small cupboard in the second bedroom not very
good if four adults.
Bedlinen was of a reasonable quality as were the towels provided
Shower gel was provided but the shower itself was certainly not luxury there was not even a shower rack to put gels etc on you had to reach down to the floor of the shower tray
Around the glass edges of the shower and in the corner were brown and black mould which looked as if it had been there some time
Again pictures in the bedroom but not on the walls!!!
Location of the cottage was good but parking was not as easy as advertised as residents took to putting up cones to prevent visitor
parking
The hospitality pack left was very nice and of a good quality -But I have never been to a cottage before where there was such a lack of basics provided i.e salt and pepper, clingfilm/foil,kitchen roll
All in all I think that the cottage was of a reasonable standard but as said before not luxury

Well-appointed cottage with everything we needed for our short break. Great that you can walk to rhe beach, castle, bars and restaurants. Weather was spectacular for March - we enjoyed coastal walks to Seahouses and back, Embleton to Newton ans a trip to Holy Island.

Would definitely recommend.

Firstly the cottage was amazing. The furnishings and fittings were high end. It was warm and comfortable especially with the log burner. A starter pack of logs had been provided. The human welcome pack was fabulous, mostly from M and S. The dog pack/ toiletries and coffee pods were non existent as I’ve said later. The location was absolutely stunning, a very short walk to the high street . Parking was interesting. There aren’t enough spaces for the number of houses without looking around. I see the locals have taken to putting out cones and I don’t blame them. We managed to park but we went in second week of January. We would definitely come again but not in school holidays/summer.

Thank you so much for your lovely review of Watergate Cottage! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the high-end furnishings, the warmth of the cottage, and the cosy log burner. It's wonderful to know that the human welcome pack, with its M&S goodies, added to your stay. We’d like to highlight that the dog welcome hamper, which often includes thoughtful doggy treats, is a complimentary addition for guests. We're sorry to hear that you didn’t find it in the cottage, we have informed the owner of this. Regarding parking, although there is no dedicated space, we’re glad you found a spot. We hope to welcome you back to Northumberland in the future, and thank you for sharing your experience with us!

Lovely little house in a really central location.

Kitchen and dining space is well appointed, lounge space is a bit small and TV is a bit hard to use.

Master bedroom is a good size, king size bed and nice bedding. Pillows not to our taste but I guess that is personal. Kids room is small but perfect for them.

Bathroom (no bath) is a decent size, great towels, hot water etc.

Outdoor space great for our small dog

Loved our stay especially our trips up to Berwick upon Tweed.

Lovely cottage. Very cosy great location for walks on beach kitchejn well equipped. Only feedback was full overflowing external bins which were unsightly ( would have been more of issue in summer if using garden ). No starter pack of logs either. Welcome hamper fantastic Definitely stay again

Very small but perfectly formed. We enjoyed our stay in Waterside Cottage. It was very well equipped and lovely furnishings. In centre of Bamburgh which we enjoyed.

We had a lovely stay here and visited lots of lovely areas. With having diogs the enclosed garden was very handy! The cottage was very nice! Bamburgh is a beautiful place to stay and the beach is amazing! All in all a great stay!
