The perfect luxury retreat for a couple. Situated in a central yet quiet spot in the conservation area of Warkworth Village. Just yards from all the amenities and the pretty riverbank. Pets welcome. Awarded 4 Stars by VisitEngland. Free Wi-Fi.

The accommodation was very welcoming with a wonderful welcome hamper not only for us but for our little dog. This set the tune for a memorable stay.

Everything about Hotspur Cottage oozed quality. Beautiful bedding and a mattress that showed us that we definitely need an upgrade. The shower room was great, with a shower worthy of the name and fragrant shower gel provided. The kitchen was equipped to a very high standard with everything you could possibly need and some items we didn’t know we needed too. Comfortable seating and a lovely area in which to eat. Literally a home from home.

Within a very short walk there were two pubs that serve good food and Bertram’s for breakfast on or departure day was the icing on the cake.

We were totally smitten by Warkworth. What a fabulous place and the coast of Northumberland was beyond beautiful. All in all a truly wonderful holiday made all the better by our cosy accommodation at Hotspur Cottage.

Hotspur Cottage was an ideal location in a delightful little village which was clean and old fashioned. From there we explored both north, south and west of the county visiting somewhere new each day. It helped the weather was kind with unexpected sunshine.
We had very courteous and friendly service from everyone at Coquet cottages.
My only criticism which may have been asking too much, but we were able to get IPlayer on the tv in the bedroom but nothing on the tv in the main room. It wasn’t the Wi-Fi as everything worked perfectly.
We visited Amble to eat in the evening as it has seafood/fish restaurants which we did not have in Warkworth.
It is a perfect size cottage for 2 people and no dog. Very sweet.

Contact with Coquet cottages before, during and after our stay was excellent. Hotspur cottage is very well equipped and in a central but quiet location. The best welcome hamper we've ever received, even a small hamper for the dog! Lovely walks right on your doorstep and many eating options. Although no designated parking space there were always plenty of spaces a short walk away and parking is free everywhere in Warkworth. We would highly recommend Coquet Cottages, Hotspur cottage and Warkworth.

A very comfortable and well equipped cottage. Lovely welcome package. Prompt responses to queries.
What more could you want? Walking distance to local pubs and shops, the castle, the river and the beach.
Although there is no allocated parking, we had no trouble parking either on the main road, or round the back by the river.

From booking to departure the Coquet Cottages team was excellent. Hotspur Cottage is the perfect base for a stay in Northumberland. The accommodation has everything you need, is comfortable and luxurious. We had a lovely holiday and can’t wait to return.

We found the cottage central for village and nice walks with our dog. It was clean, comfortable and well appointed with welcome basket which we enjoyed. Excellent staff were available should we have needed anything.
Will return.



We had a lovely 4 days at Hotspur Cottage. It was so cosy and private yet central to all amenities.

A very pretty village almost surrounded by the River Coquet and protected by a magnificent castle. The buildings were were classic and the amenities superb. All 4 pubs local were very welcoming and the surrounding walks were quiet and picturesque.
Nearby Amble was also a delight and we loved the coastal walk to Alnmouth and back.
We later took the car to Holy Island for the day, which was very interesting once we'd mastered the tide tables!
Throughout our stay Hotspur Cottage was delightful and just right for 2 people looking for a cosy hideaway.
Local food shops were fairly basic so we were glad we'd brought enough with us.
Meals out were lovely and within easy walking distance.
We shall return!

Arrived to a most welcoming cottage, Coquet cottages were excellent with the pre arrival booking, knew exactly what I needed to do, with the best information I have ever had with a cottage, a great welcome pack for us and the dog.
Cottage was perfect, well equipped, cleanliness was first class, perfect for a couple set in the middle of Warkworth put peaceful as the village is, great pubs and food, great walks from the door with the dog, dogs welcome in most places, what can I say apart from we will be back and definitely stay with Coquet cottages.

Hotspur Cottage is a lovely cottage. Its position just off the High Street means its quiet , but thinhsxare easy to get to. You can go for a walk, go for a drink in the pub and a stroll on the riverbank or beach without having to use the car..
We got a text from Coquet telling us that the cottage was ready early for us which was nice.
The welcome hamper was full of lovely goodies. Excellent.
The cottage was lovely and warm and beautifully decorated.
We have a few very lazy and relaxing days there.

We had a three night stay in this lovely cottage. It is well appointed with everything we needed and very comfortable. Coquet provide a great digital information guide and a generous welcome hamper with treats from the local area. It is easy to walk to the beach and is within a short drive to other lovely coastal towns e.g Amble. There are many good places to eat.

Hotspurs cottage was a lovely home from home experience, there was a fantastic hamper provided with everything you need to start your holiday and a little one for the dog. The bed was super comfortable, had everything you needed, kitchen appliances/extra towels/ shower wash, cottage was very clean. Great location for exploring Northumberland, and there were plenty of good eating places locally. Looking forward to staying again

Very satisfied with the cottage overall which is central to the high street, local pubs, restaurants and the riverside which is very pleasant to sit by or to take a nice walk along to the old bridge. Everything was very clean on arrival, pans, cutlery were clean and plenty of washing liquid, cleaning sprays and tea towels etc. The welcome pack was superior and much appreciated. Found the settee and chair rather uncomfortable though. Maybe a new cushion on the chair would help. However the bed was very comfortable. Shower worked well as did the bathroom extractor but when going to the bathroom before bed an extractor also activated on the bedroom ceiling, a bit wired but not a massive issue. There was no phone signal from my provider Vodaphone) which was important to me as I have a major health condition so It would have been useful to know this before hand or at least a note in the cottage on how to contact the emergency services should there be no signal. Part of our holiday was over the August bank holiday weekend and we found ourselves driving around for quite some time trying to get a parking space but otherwise the areas parked in all be it away from the cottage seemed safe.

We had a great time in Warkworth. First time in Northumberland and had not known what a beautiful place it is. This cottage was very comfortable and perfectly positioned for us, with great food and drink options just a few steps away. Thoroughly recommended.

We have had a lovely three days in this cosy little cottage. It is well located in the centre of Warkworth. Within walking distance of pubs and a village shop and near the river, the village of Warkworth is very picturesque. It is the third time we have stayed here but in different Coquet Cottages. There is everything you could need in the cottage.

Fab stay in Warkworth. Great location to visit lots of sites
Bamburgh was great as too were the puffin boat trip. Barter books and Alnwick Gardens in Alnwick
Visit Masons Arms in Warkworth and The Boat House in Amble.
Look out for Robson Green! He’s everywhere

Have visited Warkworth many times over the years usually B&B - First time in self catering cottage. Hotspur cottage is ideal for 2 adults and well managed by Coquet cottages. Very clean on arrival with an excellent welcoming pack. Customer service was excellent in booking cottage and communication from Coquet prior and during our stay excellent. Would recommend.

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent week's stay at Hotspur Cottage at the beginning of June.

The pre-arrival packs and communication from the team at Coquet Cottages were outstanding and gave us everything we needed to prepare for our holiday. And we arrived at the cottage to find it absolutely perfect for our requirements, including a lovely welcome hamper, full of local treats.

Hotspur Cottage is perfectly located in the centre of Warkworth, with plenty of free parking in the main square.
The cottage was immaculately clean and had everything that we needed to make our stay enjoyable and stress-free.
It is a perfect small bolthole for discovering Northumberland, with all of the main sites and attractions easily within reach.
We walked every day; used the very frequent bus service regularly; and drove to further afield destinations like Bamburgh and Hadrian's Wall.

We will definitely use Coquet Cottages again,

Lovely stay at Hotspur Cottage - brilliant location, near everything in the village. Beautiful river walks on the door step great for Buddy our dog.
