Jolliffe is a luxurious ground-floor apartment situated within the impressive Castle Garth house in the heart of Bamburgh Village. Taking centre stage with the very best views of Bamburgh Castle in the whole village, Castle Garth comprises a small collection of luxury apartments that share a well-maintained communal garden at the front which leads onto the cricket pitch beneath the castle, with arguably one of the best backdrops in the whole of the UK. Jolliffe sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. The apartment is ground floor and comes with private parking for 1 car and a wood-burning stove inside. Free Wi-Fi and Digital Guidebook We regret that Jolliffe does not accept children or dogs.

Lovely accommodation with great castle views, plus good walks and restaurants on the doorstep. Jolliffe had everything we needed for a great short break.

This beautifully kept apartment could not be in a more ideal position. It is in the centre of the village with amazing open views of the castle. It is only a short walk through the garden and on to the beach. My elderly father has mobility difficulties so it was all perfect for him.

Jolliffe is a beautiful property in the best location. It was very clean on arrival and exceptionally well appointed and equipped. A great welcome basked was provided and customer support before, during and after was exceptional. The outdoor area is great for all family use and a great vantage pint to watch the croquet and cricket, or just stare at the castle!

The property was very good and location excellent. It made our stay all the more enjoyable with all the amenities we wanted close at hand. However, the initial entry process was stressful. We arrived with one key code which did not allow us entry to the site. Fortunately we were within your normal office hours and were able to contact you. I'm not sure what might have happened if we had been later. We were told we needed an entry code which then gave us pedestrian access. We then looked for the key safe, of which there were several, all un-labelled. The one for Jolliffe was the most hidden and by this time stress levels were rising. Why was this process not made clear in the instructions? This was not a good way to start our stay. I am curious to know how other visitors overcame this problem.

The weather was good for our stay, if a little blowy on some of our walks. The apartment was warm and welcoming and the welcome pack delightful, especially good to have local produce. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms well appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed for self catering. The seating area was relaxed and had an amazing view of the Castle, particularly when it was lit up in the evening. The property is very well located for walking the beautiful coastline and trips to Holy Island and Alnwick to name but a few.

We had a wonderful stay. The apartment was very clean and tastefully furnished. We had everything we needed for a relaxing few days away. The location is fantastic with fabulous views of the castle.

This place was magical from start to finish and just what we needed. Where else do you get such an amazing view of the castle whilst drinking your morning coffee in your pjs and less than 5 minutes from the mist amszing beach.. Yes it's expensive but definitely worth it.

This is a very good quality appartment with comfortable beds and nice bath/shower rooms. The view of Bamburgh Castle is stunning and makes a lovely backdrop when having breakfast on the patio. We were pleased that it had an induction hob, although the extractor seemed exceptionally loud. Take care when using the toaster, as the smoke alarm is extremely sensitive! The kitchen was well equipped, although you might want to bring your own scales if you intend to cook. The welcome hamper was full of good quality items that we really enjoyed. Our only minor quibble was that the sofa, although it looked smart, wasn't actually very comfortable.
We had one meal at the Potted Lobster in Bamburgh, which was superb. There is much to see in the area and the huge sandy beach looked as good as any in the world. A trip to Cragside House is a must. One hidden gem, just a 20-minute drive to the south, is the medieval pele tower, Preston Tower.

A really nice, welcoming property in a great location. Plenty of space to both sit and eat in the living area with a lovely patio having views of both the sea and the castle. The bedrooms were comfortable and the bathrooms modern. Would definitely recommend for both comfort and location. I am so glad there are pet free properties in this area - as much as I love animals, I am highly allergic to anything with fur or feathers, so finding this gem in such a dog friendly area was fabulous.

A week looking at the same view sounds boring, but we found exactly the opposite. Breakfast on the patio every day, the castle in all different conditions from clear blue sky through to dramatic clouds, and the rain only came at night
Combine the great artisan food on offer in the village with the great kitchen meant we ate in every night.
We walked most places, only needing the car for Lindisfarne Holy Island.
A thoroughly lovely apartment which we would love to visit again.

We stayed at Joliffe in June 2023, so the apartment had recently been renovated. The decor, furnishings and bathrooms are high quality and the location with the view of Bamburgh Castle is fabulous. There were 3 adults in our party and we found the sofa not the most comfortable, which would have been worse if there were 4 adults. However, that is the only slight negative. The welcome basket was delightful and the quality of everything else great.
The location of Joliffe gives full access to the village green, with a footpath to the beach. Also easy walking to the local shops, including the butchers (great choice) and deli. Pubs and beer gardens are great. The Lord Crewe is tastefully decorated and serve tasty breakfasts with friendly staff. We visited the highly recommended Potted Lobster restaurant twice during our stay. Joliffe is a great base to stay in Bamburgh and visit the surrounding areas with ease.
