Lovely, cosy and comfortable cottage. Everything you need and more. The welcome hamper inc for the dog is a lovely gesture. Bonus with great weather too. Short walk into town.

I took my parents away for 4 nights at longstone cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is wonderful, it has everything you need and is very comfortable, clean and tidy. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch, as was the milk and butter in the fridge. It made us feel very welcome, plus the hamper was delicious!

The property location is great too. It’s in a beautiful, quiet private cul de sack but only 15 minutes walk into Seahouses for restaurants and shops. Perfect!

Cannot fault the cottage itself, absolutley beautiful. Everything youd think you would need and nice luxuries like the hamper and soaps etc.
Had a problem with the boiler but was fixed promptly.
The only thing i would say is the loaction and how it is in walking distance to the beach and town, this is a 'good walk', not just round corner so felt slightly misguided by that. Also, said we had a pub The Lonstone Hotel round the corner. This is now boarded up and closed.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review following your stay at Longstone. I am delighted to hear that you had a comfortable stay and that the issue with the boiler was attended to and fixed promptly. Thank you as well for bringing it to our attention that the newly opened Longstone House Hotel restaurant has now closed down. We have amended this on all of our documentation. I do hope we can welcome you back to Northumberland again in the future, please call our local team and they will be able to help guide you to a property with a shorter walk to the beach.

Stayed at Longstone 9 years ago; don't remember the parking spaces being so tight for 2 cars. The hedge needs trimming back to avoid scratching the sides of one of the cars. The kitchen walls near the kettle are splattered with something and need cleaning or painting. The welcome pack (for people) was great but this time there was no dog welcome pack, which had been a nice touch last time we stayed here. The one tea towel provided was worn out - had a tear in it. The shower in the main bedroom is not easy to get in and out of and is looking shabby....this has been highlighted in another review. And it wouldn't take much to fit an upright bar to hold the shower over the bath in the other bedroom...would make showering so much easier. I appreciate that these are relatively minor points which could so easily be rectified.
Otherwise this property deserves its star rating.

Stayed here for our 2nd wedding anniversary with our 4 month old baby. Booking this as a luxury cottage “furnished and equipped to a luxurious 4 Star GOLD award standard”, we were unfortunately really disappointed at the lack of cleanliness of the property.

When we arrived there was a strong smell of dog from the lounge and dog hair all over the property. As the property was listed as dog friendly we expected a faint hint that four legged friends had been there but we didn’t expect that there would be hair everywhere. The lounge rug where we planned to put our baby on his activity mat was covered in hair and hadn’t been hoovered. I hoovered it 3 times and was disgusted in the amount of dirt and hair I collected. There was hair and dust in all of the baskets in the bedrooms so I couldn’t store our clothes away, there was hair in the bath plug hole and our shower at home was cleaner than the shower there. There was also a lot of cobwebs and dust in the corners of the ceilings, the washing machine drawer was dirty and the remote for the tv was sticky. There was something splattered on one of the bed throws that had gone crusty and blood on the throw pillow in the centre of the bed.

On a plus note, the beds were really comfortable and the towels were soft. The Cottage is in a great location and was well equipped with everything we needed for our holiday. The hamper was a lovely touch and the scones were delicious. We had a fantastic first holiday with our son and even had sunny weather.

Very beautiful clean property. Only gripe a lot of birds, our car got covered in bird poo overnight. The outside furniture was also covered in poo.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review following your recent stay at Longstone. I am thrilled to hear that you found the property to be beautiful. Longstone is indeed in a wonderful location, and we're delighted that you enjoyed it. I am sorry to hear about the bird issue with your car during your stay. Unfortunately, this is a common occurrence throughout the coastal areas of Northumberland. We understand it can be inconvenient and appreciate your understanding in this matter. This is the first time booking with Coquet Cottages and the booking process was straightforward, the website is easy to navigate and the accommodation photos are a true representation of the property. Communication from Coquet has been excellent throughout, they definitely put the customer first. Small touches, for example, the courtesy phone call a week before, text messages advising the property was ready earlier than expected, The digital guidebook is fantastic, very useful. The welcome hamper was amazing and there were fresh flowers too I will definitely book again with them and probably Longstone cottage again due its excellent location, private parking and lovely private enclosed garden.

longstone was a lovely traditional holiday home, a quite location. clean and tidy, comfortable beds but felt the bathrooms needed up dating, the walk in shower was very small and a step up into made it unsuitable for my parents and we had issues with the twin bedroom with the toilet and bath, it became blocked, dad to the rescue.

The cottage was clean and very tidy. There was a lovely welcoming hamper which was much appreciated. The house had everything that you require so no complaints at all. The only problem that we noted was that the flushing of all toilets in the house was very poor indeed and when you did so water came up the sink and bath plugholes. The owner from the adjoining cottage had contacted Dyna Rod to clear the drains. In the end it was sorted by Northumbrian Water who had overall responsibility. The problem was that the septic tank for all houses had reached capacity. This happened on day 2 of our holiday and put a somewhat sour note on it. By the end of the week the same problem arose with the flushing of the toilets and it appeared that the septic tank required emptying again. I would still very much recommend this cottage to future clients but think that the problem with the drainage should be looked at again.

We had a great long weekend at Longstone. The cottage was absolutely beautiful and extremely well equipped. The location is fantastic, being walking distance into Seahouses, and is perfectly placed for exploring the beautiful Northumberland coastline. The beds were sooooo comfy, the welcome basket was amazing, everything was just perfect. There was even a welcome basket for the dogs! We all had a fantastic time, and will definitely return.

I enjoyed my stay. The house is convenient, clean and well furnished. The location is perfect. I was disappointed with the outdoor space and lack of views. The patio was very small and over grown, the patio table was small and dirty and I had to scrub it before we could use it, which is unacceptable. The table really needs replacing and the bushes need cutting back as they take out the light. I asked for and expected a garden but the customer really needs to know it’s just a path with a very small dark space for a garden table.
There are no views at all and the kitchen windows looks out onto a wall. The front window looks out onto the path which is obscured by bushes.
