Situated in the heart of historic Alnwick, within walking distance of all the attractions and amenities of the town, this immaculate townhouse is beautifully furnished and provides a luxury base for exploring Northumberland. Ideal for adults, sorry but not suitable for children under 6 years, and pets are not accepted. Free wi-fi, 5 Star GOLD award. Free Digital Guidebook.

We had a wonderful holiday at No 1 Duke Street. The house has everything you need for a relaxing stay and more.
The decor is beautiful, in fact I think it is the nicest holiday cottage we have stayed in. It is a few minutes walk from the centre of Alnwick so perfect for the gardens, castle, shops and restaurants. The welcome pack was generous and we appreciated the treats very much. We hope to return very soon.

A beautiful home with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We very much appreciated the generous welcome pack, also your text with local information and visits. Short walk to the town centre. I always appreciate the fact that the owners go out of their way to ensure you have a great holiday. I would recommend a visit to Carlos, the fish and chip shop in town. Tasty food and friendly staff.

Thoughtfully equipped and designed proerty.
Cosy on arrival and a generous welcome pack together with toiletries for use.
The owner was available by text if necessary and clearly wants guests to enjoy their stay.
The only slight down side is parking.
Parking is on road and although the space outside the house was free it's on the end of the road where it joins a busy road and a camper van parked across from No. 1 Duke Street makes it impossible to park except partially on the pavement. The owmer requests that you don't block the pavement. A friend who lives locally says the camper van is a permanent fixture. There was parking at the back but much of it taken up by other vehicles. Having said that we managed to find a space during our stay.

This well furnished house was our base for 2 weeks while we did some work to our own house. It has everything you may need and is very comfortable.
The only issue we had sometimes was parking, but it just meant we had to park in a different street.
The house is well located in Alnwick for all it’s amenities and would definitely recommend.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! I’m glad to hear that you found the house comfortable and well-equipped for your stay. Regarding parking, it’s great to know that you were able to find spaces nearby. While parking can sometimes be a bit tricky, there are usually plenty of options on nearby streets, so it’s rarely an issue. Thank you again for staying with us, we hope to welcome you back to Northumberland soon.

Great location for Alnwick (3 min walk to centre)- easy in street parking. Cottage itself is large, spotless and the furniture and decor a cut above other places we've stayed.

We had a fantastic stay at No1 Duke Street. The property is very well decorated and there are a lot of great touches and it is obvious a lot of thought and effort has gone into making guests stay a pleasant one.

Loved the decor and handiness of Duke Street to central Alnwick. The house has everything we could have needed and more. The welcome hamper was really well stocked. The beds were very firm but we got used to that quite quickly. We would highly recommend this house and hope to visit again sometime.

A very well appointed property with everything you need and of a high quality - nothing from IKEA here! WE spent 7 days at Duke Street from where we explored the coast and played some golf. Would definitely stay here again when we next visit this area.

We loved our stay at 1 Duke Street. The cottage is very well maintained and styled and had everything you needed.
Some disappointment with beds unfortunately. Coquet Cottages had described the bedrooms as 2 doubles- one super king (which it was) and the other as king size ( and it was only a double). This was one the main reason for booking as we wanted at least king size beds, so we were disappointed that one room was a double (bed also very firm). That aside, the cottage was great. Very convenient to walk to Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Barter Books and town. 10 mins drive to Alnmouth for lovely beach walk and half an hour upto Bamburgh/ Lindisfarne.
Would recommend overall.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review following your stay at No.1 Duke Street. I am delighted to hear that you would recommend staying at the property. Regarding the bed sizes at the property, we do advertise this property as 1 super king-size bed and 1 double bed on the property page, so there may have been some confusion during the booking process, each property does also have a 3D tour which may also be helpful during booking. I do hope we can welcome you back to Northumberland again in the future and when the time comes, please call the office and our wonderful team here in Warkworth, will gladly help.

Absolutely stunning property, so thoughtfully designed and decorated but without compromising on the practicalities. Everything you could possibly need was provided. The beds were comfy and there was plenty of space. The location is excellent for the town center and for exploring. Information provided by Coquet cottages before our stay was excellent. Beautiful welcome hamper and message from the owner was a lovely touch. We will return ❤️

We loved our stay at Duke Street, it was a wonderful place to stay. Everything from the location to decoration and welcome pack was perfect, we couldn’t have asked for more.

We were getting married in Alnwick, and this was the perfect base for us. There was enough space to store all our things - and my wedding dress had its own room! The space downstairs was ideal for meeting up with our friends and family, and most importantly, the whole place created a calm, cosy environment for us both to relax and prepare for a busy week. We’d love to go back!

This is a very well renovated and decorated house very close to Alnwick Town centre. The welcome pack is substantial with coffee, bread, milk, butter, wine, marmalade and cakes! There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance and lots of local shops. 10 mins walk to Alnwick castle and garden so you can leave your car at home. Very comfortable and cosy.

Where to start! Perfect location, welcome pack etc as mentioned in other reviews! If you have an eye for interior design you will love all the little touches in this home. Beautiful wallpaper, pops of colour, coordinating accessories, but it still feels very comfortable to be in and great for relaxing in. My only thought would be some screening in the front garden for sitting in the sunshine ( not a problem in a very wet April) but there are lovely benches to sit on but quite exposed. Kitchen has everything you need and super large oven for Easter roast! Would highly recommend staying here.

For the most part a comfortable and clean house. Perhaps one bed could benefit with a softer mattress for older bones. Conveniently located in Alnwick which is a good centre from which to explore Hadrian's wall, walking in the national park, and visiting Lindisfarne.
