Just had a week at Tern Cottage. Really lovely, well equipped and beautifully decorated and furnished. The kitchen diner is a great light space to chill and play games. Utility room and side door was brilliant if you have dogs to keep them away from carpeted areas. Beds and bedding really comfortable, toiletries smelt lovely. Lots of touches. Great location too for beaches and walks and pubs. Highly recommend.

This is a great house. 4 good sized bedrooms (1 en-suite). Well appointed location and within easy walking distance from Beadnell beach. Would certainly recommend.
A wonderful cottage - so comfortable. Close to Bamburgh, Alnwick, Cragside, Holy Island and the fabulous beaches. Would definitely recommend - in fact I already have!
What a wonderful holiday home that met all of our needs! A stunning property in a superb location that was spotlessly clean and had everything you could ever think of. Our hosts were very informative and helpful and we were able to have a superb week. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful house in a great location for the beach. Coastal paths to low Newton and Seahouses and the Landing cafe and restaurant on the doorstep. The owner was really helpful before and during the stay. We would thoroughly recommend it.
What a fabulous week in Emberside- a truly special house which has recently been upgraded to the highest of standards. Comfortable beds with luxurious bathrooms including 2 en-suite, a fully supplied kitchen including a large American fridge freezer ( with ice on tap) and the most fabulous garden, made for a very special week indeed. Bertram’s across the road, was the birthday meal and the food was fantastic with lovely attentive staff too. Warkworth is a great base to explore the area - we could walk to Amble where we had a stunning seafood platter in the fish shack ( beware- service was ve...more
The Welcome pack provided by the hosts was excellent with local treats and an Earl Grey cake. There was also attention to detail in the decor and level of comfort provided, books, guide books, and prints with details of history of Grey Hens. We felt welcome immediately and were contacted by the hosts checking all was well and providing a contact number should we need it. The cottage was clean with a very comfortable king size bed, and an en-suite wuty walk in shower, large bath and good quality toiletries. The cottage is in a lovely location, surrounded by beautiful gardens which can be used d...more
Nightfold is a perfect base for exploring Northumberland. It is well equipped and very comfortable. Great parking. The cleanest shower and bathroom I have ever seen in a a self catering property. Very well maintained. It also had a summer weight quilt on the bed, much appreciated.
We recently spent a week at Quay West . This was our first visit to the area and booking with Coquet Cottages. We couldn't have been more thrilled with our experience. The apartment and location with views across the marina were outstanding. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful with an amazing welcome hamper to greet us on our arrival. A very generous gesture! We shall definitely be coming back and shall look forward to looking at other properties within the area also.
Well equipped flat close to the town centre. It was good that the owner contacted us to ensure everything was Ok. The fresh flowers and welcome pack were a nice touch.
Really enjoyed our stay in The Gin Gan Seahouses. This is a beautiful property in an ideal location for Seahouses and the Northumberland Coast. The property was very well equipped with everything you could need when on holiday. The welcome hamper was very good and really appreciated. As was the treats etc left for out little dog Alfie . Would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone.
North Star is a fabulous apartment close to all amenities in Alnwick and ideally located for trips to the various wonderful beaches and towns and Villages in the surrounding area. Steve was a great host and the welcome pack was the best we have ever seen. The accommodation had everything needed and we found the beds to be cosy and comfortable. Parking on site was an added bonus. We would definitely recommend this property.
5* accommodation in a 5* location the apartment was exceptional. Everything had been thought of. The welcome hamper was amazing everything you needed and treats as well. The guide book app was full of everything you needed to know about the property and surrounding areas to visit from bike hire to restaurant recommendations. The property was very secure easy to access via stairs and a lift. Plenty of space for private parking which was laid out well. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone who is looking to stay in the heart of the Town with access to pubs, restaurants and attrac...more
Our stay at Oyster cottage was amazing. The cottage had everything we could possibly want and need, from a wonderful welcome hamper to beautifully decorated rooms and all the high quality services you could need for a holiday. The owners were excellent dropping off an additional luxury toiletries. Everything about the property was perfect and felt special. Location wise it could not be better being within a good distance from Edinburgh in the North, Newcastle to the South and Kielder forest to the west. There is so much to do within that area you are spoilt for choice. A holiday we will never ...more
When you open the gate into the immaculately tended, spacious, sunny and secure back garden, you get the "feel good" factor which will remain with you throughout your stay. Open the double patio doors onto the terrace, and the garden enters the spacious well equipped kitchen. Comfort reigns in the sitting rooms and bedrooms. All is clean and well presented. Can't wait to visit again.
Superb stay. Flat was spacious, modern, clean and equipped with everything we needed. It was cosy, a wonderful place to retire to in the evening after a day out. And the central location was a great advantage.
We had a lovely time. Great place and location. We mad the most of going to the pub as well which was only 20meters away and did good beer and food.
Low Tide is a lovely, well maintained and beautiful cottage. Spacious property with plenty of living space for the 6 it accommodates. Loved the well packed welcome hamper. Perfect for visiting the coast and castles in the area. Had a fabulous meal in the Joiners Arms 5 mins drive away. Hosts were prompt with responding to any messages/questions.
We loved our stay at Alba Cottage, very comfortable with everything we needed! The location and view were amazing, something we would never tire of, the changing sea, sun sets, sparrows, swallows, fabulous! We enjoyed a busy week, great walks, cycling and even a cold water swim. Amble was lovely, very friendly, super places to eat especially Jasper’s
Amazing customer service. Needed accommodation ffor 4 people and a dog short notice and the lovely customer service worked hard to find us something and get it ready for our arrival. Lovely accommodation very close to the river. Very comfortable and clean. Would definitely revisit. Thank you.very much Julie and family
An absolutely charming cottage, in a quiet rural area, The Millstone was perfect in every way, decorated & equipped to a really high standard, and so central for touring around Northumberland. We will definitely be staying again. I highly recommend.
Our stay at Sunflower House was great. The house its self is gorgeous, everything we needed for our family and in a perfect location. We would definitely like to stay here again when we come to Alnwick
The property was spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was extremely well equipped. The welcome pack was excellent as were the toiletries provided. The only downside is that the WiFi is very patchy.
We spent a lovely week at Driftwood. The location (including view) is superb. Everything in the house was top quality from bedding and towels to kitchen appliances. We loved the hot tub and having the EV charger made travel very easy. Booking was easy and I also appreciate the call in advance to check everything is good for the trip. Great service. Easy parking, great enclosed back garden for our dog, lovely furniture inside and out, comfy beds and sofas, soft towels and an amazing view! There was everything we could possibly need at the house, including a great selection of games! It ...more
My daughter & I, & our two Border Terriers have just enjoyed a lovely second visit this year to this comfortable barn. The location is great for visiting Alnwick & is just a 10 minute drive to Northumberland’s beautiful beaches & coastline. The easy parking & huge garden are a bonus, & the barn has everything needed for an enjoyable break. There was a very generous welcome hamper with local produce, as well as fresh flowers & fruit, & dog bowls, towels & treats. We highly recommend this barn & hope to have a return visit soon.
We are return visitors to Horseshoe Cottage, and it is always a joy to come back. The cottage is immaculate and the countryside setting is beautiful. The owners Christine & Alan are the best of the hosts. The grounds and surrounding area are so peaceful and relaxing, it’s hard to tear ourselves away - but then you are only short distances from amazing beaches, walks, and grand castles. And not forgetting the chickens in the garden and the pet sheep in the field - ever entertaining!
Fern House proved to be an ideal base for our stay in Northumberland. It was well equiped, very clean and nicely decorated. All the beds were very comfortable with decent pillows. The location is good for exploring Northumberland, close to Amble and Alnwick. My 6 year old Granddaughter really enjoyed watching films in the cinema room. Overall we had a very pleasant visit.
First class cottage beautifully maintained. Superb well equipped kitchen. Excellent bathrooms. Showers powerful and easy to use. Safe enclosed back garden for the dogs. Attractive front garden. Off street parking for at least two cars. Quarry nature reserve next door, brilliant for walkies and bird watching. Embleton beach stunning. Ate well at the Dunstanburgh Castle hotel (dogs welcome) The Grey's Inn a good real ale pub with food. Would love to stay at Hedgehog House again
A really comfortable and family friendly holiday house. It was equipped with everything we needed and had a fabulous selection of books, toys and games. Brilliant location in walking distance to Amble, the beach and playground. We look forward to coming back!
We noticied in certain parts of the accommodation it could have been cleaner. Freezer smelt of fish too. Not that we put food in! Overall a lovely accommodation.
We had such a fab 4 night stay in this beautiful apartment, it was spotlessly clean with lots of extra special touches
Everything was spot on - from the welcome basket to all the facilities. Short walk to beach and Warkworth.
Sycamore Cottage is a real gem of a place. Mary & Phil have thought of everything to make a visitors stay as welcoming and comfortable as possible from the welcome hamper of Northumbrian produce to the home made bread, cake and biscuits which were most appreciated. The cottage is very well equipped and the beds are super comfortable. The views from the cottage are amazing and there are some great walks very near by. We absolutely loved the area and hope to return in the future. A big thank you to Mary and Phil for making our stay perfect.
This was our 3rd visit to sea Gem and probably will not be the last . Beautiful house in a great location , only a short walk to the centre of Amble and harbour. We were greeted with a very generous hamper of goodies plus milk and butter in the fridge . Quality toiletries and everything you could need for a grea5 stay .
The Barn is in such a lovely setting, looking out over open fields. It has lots of space it's designed to let the light flood into the property. The kitchen is really well equipped. You can walk to the fantastic Morwick Ice Cream parlour via the fields and St Oswald's way - it's definitely worth the visit !! Cavil Head is really central for many place - Warkworth, Felton, Cresswell Beach, Druridge Bay, Percy Woods at Swarland ... and many places. The highlight for me was the dark skies at night, the peace (a railway line is near by, but it's hardly noticeable), the bats at night. the ...more
Peony cottage was delightful. Beautifully arranged with everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. It was spotlessly clean. The setting was delightful and our children enjoyed meeting all of the animals. Our hosts were friendly and helpful and we felt very well looked after.
We really enjoyed our stay at MIll Cottage and couldn’t fault it at all. The cottage is so well thought out and comfortable with so many places to visit nearby without having to drive to drive very far, Holy Island only was only about 50 minutes away. Lesbury is a lovely village and the path from it to Almouth was a great way to finish each day.
A lovely apartment with great views of the marina. The apartment was clean and had all the features that we needed, the reception team were very friendly.
I have too many superlatives to use, so I will summarise in one word …..excellent! From the moment we stepped through the front door this house felt like Home. The furnishings and standard of decor are very high. The house is spacious, airy and well equipped - we needed for nothing in the kitchen. The welcome pack was generous and well received. Thank you very much for our stay.
Our second stay, and already planning the next. We love the stylish chic house, comfy beds, and snuggly sofas. The location is perfect, 10 mins walk to the beach, a choice of pubs and cafes….. our fav in Walkworth is Bertram’s.
We stayed in another apartment in Coble Quay a few years ago and we were really looking forward to coming back. Seafarer was just as good as we expected but with the added bonus of really comfortable furniture. This is really important because I have a serious spinal injury and we always try to select accommodation based on how comfortable the seats look. We aren’t always successful as you can only go by the images provided but we hit the jackpot this time. The seats facing the fabulous view of the marina were great and the bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable too. The shower in the ...more
The Penthouse is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. We are a group of eight friends, who have holidayed together several times, and this was far and away the best place we have stayed. The apartment has plenty of space for everyone, the bedrooms and bathrooms are all top quality, and the views are magnificent. We all loved it!
Victoria is a special cottage with everything you could wish for in terms of location, layout etc. Compliments galore so just couple of little niggles - the cooker hood is dangerous in terms of the switches as they are all inside the hood. You need the extractor when cooking so have to stick a blunt implement in to with it on/off .
What a lovely property to stay in Jeff is really helpful on information on the local area Corebridge is a delightful little town -lots of lovely coffee shops and pubs and restuarants. We had a great four night break.
Our stay at Honeybee cottage was fabulous. The cottage is renovated to the highest standards with every home comfort you could think of. We received a lovely hamper on arrival containing luxury locally made produce. Even our dogs received their own hamper with doggie treats and necessities. The location is beautiful, overlooking the river. We enjoyed watching the herons fishing. Croquet Cottages were fantastic, they made sure we had everything we needed and were friendly and helpful throughout.
What a fantastic property and so close to the beach though parking is a problem even with permit provided. The outside space for drinks in the sunshine was used a lot. Alnmouth has become one of our favourite places to stay but once your car is parked with a permit, leave it and enjoy the beautiful walks.
Definitely the perfect place to stay for a relaxing break. The cottage has the most amazing view of the castle and coastline from the main bedroom and a beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and equipped house. Everything is there that you need and the owners have obviously put a lot of thought into the details. The only very small criticism we would make would be to make the rubbish situation clearer. The instructions say bag the rubbish and put in the outside bins. But the recycling bin does not take plastic bags so the bin was not emptied on bin day. Clearer instructions would resolve the...more
Our family (including Willow - our 3 year old doodle!) thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the’Oyster Catcher’ which is ideally positioned to make a great holiday in Northumberland. Firstly, great credit and recognition to the owner for making this such a wonderful place to stay and for presenting with us with a stylish, spacious and well equipped property. Everything was clean, tidy and attention given to all the necessary details which meant we wanted for nothing. Our welcome gifts were also greatly appreciated to help set up our stay. Thanks also to the team at Coquet Cottages for all the...more
The Old Library is the perfect base from where to explore the immediate attractions of Alnwick & the surrounding area. Both Alnwick Gardens & Alnwick Castle are within a short distance & not to be missed. Alnwick & Coquette Cottages met all of our expectations, thank you.
Great location, plenty of parking, roomy property, well furnished and equipped. A pleasurable stay, would thoroughly recommend and hope to return.
Oaklands is a lovely building and had plenty of space and room for 3 families. The level of cleanliness was excellent. The welcome hamper was brilliant and a very lovely surprise. The position of the house is perfect for exploring the area.
This is a lovely property with everything you need, in a peaceful location by the river. Located in a lovely village with easy access to surrounding areas. Beautiful beach and castle on your doorstep. Lovely views from the property over towards Amble and along the river, from the second floor lounge, kitchen and bedroom on 3rd floor. Great welcome basket and even one for our dog which was thoughtful.
The apartment was spotless and had amazing views over the marina. Great facilities and very modern. Lovely welcome pack included.
Really lovely cottage in a fab location, was ideal for three generations being together. Only element missing was a sea view but had that a few minutes walk from leaving the house.
A home from home cottage which was situated in a very quiet col de sac at the western edge of North Sunderland so a little further walk into Seahouses than we appreciated. Coquet Cottages handled our booking excellently keeping us informed throughout the process.
We highly recommend Earl’s cottage. We felt comfortable and looked after throughout. Everything about the cottage is perfect. It has a central location in Alnwick, located on a lovely quiet road. The online guidebook is very informative and helped us locate great places to eat and to visit. Our dog Aura loved her welcome basket as we did ours. X
A wonderful position overlooking the Marina but also nice to be in the centre of town. Despite its central position it was quiet. The apartment had everything one needed for a luxurious stay and the very generous welcome pack was much appreciated.
Brada house is lovely. This modern, bright, comfortable and very clean three bedroom barn conversion was perfect for our family and cocker Spaniel. We have stayed in Golorum a few times now and it's a top location for countryside walks and accessing the tremendous beaches. An issue with missing front door key on arrival resulting in a 1 hour wait in the garden after a three hour drive resulted in damaged frozen goods from our supermarket shop which was most frustrating. And to add to this, there were missing hygiene & cleaning products inside the house once we had the key. The clean...more
We had a lovely stay at The Sewing Room. The cottage is beautifully decorated with lots of home comforts and super cosy beds. The location is fab. A two minute stroll to the beach and in the centre of Alnmouth village for the pubs and shops. We are stone baked pizzas from the Red lion and a delicious meal at Bistro 32. Fab time had by all x
Theis is the third time we have stayed at Garden Cottage and each time we have enjoyed every moment. The Cottage is well cared for and located in very pleasant surroundings. We will no doubt return.
Hotspur is in a great position in a quiet spot right in the centre of the village. It's comfortable and has all you could need for a weekend.
We had a lovely stay in Harebell House. The house is ideal for a family group and dog! The house is exceptionally well maintained and equipped. We’ll be back!
Yet another superb stay at Bluebird House. We’ve stayed many times before and remain impressed with the quality of the fixtures and fittings, as well as the homely feel this cottage gives us. Bluebird House is excellently placed for exploring the Northumberland Coast and is a real treat to return to at the end of a long day out - the bath being a highlight as ever. Both Coquet Cottages and Martin (property owner) provide excellent customer service and make you feel instantly at home. Thanks again for a great stay - we will be back!
We had a great week at this wonderful cottage overlooking the river. The cottage was spotlessly clean…..a credit to whoever looks after the cottage. Our stay was so comfortable, cosy and homely. The cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed. The welcome hamper and flowers on arrival were a lovely surprise as were the items in the fridge. The position of the cottage couldn’t have been better for lovely walks along the river, and for sitting by the river watching the many birds, ducks and the heron on the weir. We have stayed in many cottages before but this was definitely the bes...more
Heron House was a fabulous base for the week. It was spacious and well laid out with all the needed kit and a lovely welcome hamper! The location is very peaceful with very easy parking (no off street parking often puts us off but this was no problem at all). Plenty to do in a short distance with a party ranging from 14 to 80.
A fabulous house to stay in, so well equipped, we wanted for nothing. The welcome pack was more than anywhere else we have ever stayed-it was so good. Even the dogs got treats. Great location in a beautiful village, beach & pubs on the doorstep. Good garden too. Parking was interesting but we got used to it. We had the best week.
This was our second visit to Alnwick and surrounding area, but our first ever holiday using ‘cottage’ accommodation. The owner has not disappointed in presenting a beautiful home for a welcoming stay. A lovely welcome pack was provided, and No1 Duke Street provides everything we needed during our stay.
We had a wonderful week staying at The Dunes. The house has very thoughtfully designed to make it comfortable for three generations to stay here. Really good quality fitting throughout. It is ideally placed for all the areas of Northumberland we love. Warkworth beach is beautiful and try to go and watch the sunrise there.
Thanks for our 3rd stay at Lost Lobster, with total stays in Embleton now exceeding 20! Lost Lobster is truly a home with every room comfortable and welcoming. Highlights for us are the kitchen and the garden where we spend most of our time when there. Very thoughtful throughout, the owners provide me with the best range of kitchen equipment and wares that I could hope for. Use of the pizza oven is always part of our trip. The dogs are happy and provision of dog towels a great help. A big thanks as ever for giving us a lovely holiday.
Amazing apartment with stunning view, there was everything in the apartment that you would need, the welcome basket such a good idea the flowers unexpected but delightful.
The New Dairy was a great base and the weather was kind so we were able to do lots of beach walks and get our steps in. The cottage had everything we needed to do a bit of self catering and enjoy some lovely meals out in Bamburgh without having to use the car.
Property was very well equipped, comfortable and nicely decorated. Steph the owner was very helpful.
Just returned from a wonderful stay for my mother’s 70th birthday. The house was perfect. Plenty of space for us all, the walks on our doorstep all weekend were perfect. The scenery changed every time we stepped out of the door. Simply stunning. Thank you
Excellent property in a good location. Parking no problem for 2 cars and walking distance to centre of Seahouses but in a quiet location. Excellent spot to return to after a day sightseeing.
We decided last minute to have a week’s break in Northumberland. We hadn’t heard of warksworth but decided it looked nice and we were pleasantly surprised it’s a lovely village with plenty places to eat.We don’t have a dog but Virginia cottage is ideal for a dog but it was great for us it has everything you need for your break in fact much more than l expected. The welcome hamper was lovely and the fresh flowers a lovely surprise.
Absolutely fantastic stay at The Coasthouse. The house is beautifully furnished, the kitchen has everything you could ever need. The garden is lovely and the welcome pack was such a nice surprise, Fabulous walks on the doorstop, great places to eat. Couldn’t have been any better. Thank you
The four of us (3 human, one puggle who thinks he's human) had a fabulous week in this immaculate, well equipped and comfortable home. A superb location, quiet but walkable into Amble, easy access to many local destinations, near a bus stop if you want a car free day (buses are excellent). We couldn't have been more comfortable. Contact with the owner was excellent. I simply can't praise this home from home enough.
Eider Cottage holiday weekend in Warkworth. A well equipped, very central located house. Very clean & welcoming
This was our second stay at Lyndhurst and we could not have been happier. The house is beautiful and well equipped, with ample space and delightful garden. A very generous welcome pack awaited us on arrival. Perfect location, short walk to the beach and village.
We loved our stay at Riverside Cottage. The perfect location overlooking the river where we saw lots of wildlife. The cottage was beautiful with an amazing welcome hamper on our arrival. Local pubs, food and beaches. Warkworth is one of our favourite places to visit and the cottage made it so much better. We'll be back again
We love Northumberland and have lost count oh how many times we have visited. Coquet cottages always excellent
Dovetail Cottage provides a very comfortable welcome, a generous gift basket and attentive customer service. An excellent base for discovering the delights of this part of Northumberland- castles and beaches galore! Conveniently located for relaxing times next to the Coquet watching the wildlife, as well as very short walks to good pubs and restaurants. Free parking nearby. Will use Coquet Cottages again.
The location was excellent. We liked the upside down layout, but the bedroom furniture was very poor and we needed to repair the bed in the double bedroom. The kitchen was tired also and the en-suite toilet seat was in need of repair. Parking was very good and we loved the decking area. The towels were excellent!
This house really worked for three generations of our family- lots of space, lovely big kitchen and a nice extra to have all bedrooms en suite. The garden was beautifully kept and our kids enjoyed the games and sports equipment provided. Although close to the main road it felt secure and the ice cream shop right next door was a big hit!
Quiet location. A car is needed to get around sightseeing but also for shops. The kitchen table seemed small for 4 and the pots we on the small side for cooking. We temporarily lost power on the night of Storm Floris, but the owner was quickly in touch and resolved the matter with the energy supplier. We had an enjoyable stay.
The cottage was perfect for a relaxing few days and exploring Northumberland. Unfortunately due to availability we could only stay 3 nights. Everything was immaculate and clean. The kitchen was fully equipped and ideal for cooking meals. The garden room was relaxing with lovely views of the garden and woodland. The bed was very comfortable and the ensuite modern, with a powerful shower. We loved the garden with various places to sit. The weather was good but wet in the evenings so we didn’t use the garden room. Off road private parking with an ev charger was a bonus.
Firstly Coquet Cottages' organisation was great, in particular the app had a wealth of useful information. The cottage was in a great location, with plenty of nearby parking, and a short walk into the village. It was a beautiful little cottage, and was very well equipped. The welcome hamper had some basics and some lovely treats. All in all, we had a great week staying in Sunny Cottage
This is a lovely cottage in Thropton high up on a hill with wonderful views. It’s near the town of Rothbury so close to Cragside. The coast is only a short distance too. The surrounding hills are wonderful for walking and there is a local golf course. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable after long days out. Very quiet and almost isolated.
This property was truly outstandingly fantastic. Very high standards throughout, offering the very best in comfort and luxury. It really did feel like home from home. There’s not one thing to criticise. I know we will book again in the future!
This was a fantastic cottage, clean, tidy and sizeable, really comfortable for myself and 5 other adults, 2 dogs and a 2 year old. What was really super was all the extremely useful and well thought out cupboard contents. The toys available for our 2 year old were super and plenty of things for the adults too. The welcome basket was really lovely and useful. The dogs were also extremely well catered for. Also the free digital guide was so useful, really super and we used it a lot. You'll also find really useful notes around the house to help you get the most out of the house. ...more
Lovely cottage, tastefully and sympathetically restored. Spacious and well equipped. Tha welcome hamper was a lovely touch with delicious scones and many other treats. Cottage is only a few minutes walk from Alnwick Castle and other attractions and ideally placed for exploring Nortumberland. We would have no hesitation in returning next year.
Curlew Cottage is a really smart comfortable stone cottage in a good location just outside of Bamburgh village. It is extremely well equipped and the little garden was perfect for our two small dogs. Everything went like clockwork and we were very satisfied.
We had a lovely relaxing week in this beautiful holiday cottage. The cottage is in a quiet, peaceful location and is very comfortable. It was well equipped with everything we needed during our stay.
Wild Goose is a stunning apartment with amazing views! It is the perfect location for exploring Bamburgh and other local areas. The host was brilliant, friendly and offered lots of suggestions for eating out and places to visit. We absolutely fell in love with the area and the amazing weather added even more sparkle to our stay! Would definitely stay at Wild Goose again!
2nd time at the house, and it was as good as before. Had a WiFi issue which was resolved by openreach mid way through our holiday. House is clean and all the equipment works which is great. Pillows are too soft for our liking, but then you can’t please everyone. Mike the caretaker was really helpful, and we love having the garden for the dogs (which isn’t always possible in Amble), no issues with parking, but it is not always possible straight outside the property but always a space further down the street. Booked again for 2026
The cottage was comfortable and was well equipped. We had trouble with the shower dial in the main bedroom en suite but this was resolved after speaking to the handyman. The Garden was lovely but not well tended to. The patio was a disappointment as there were huge weeds growing through paving. As a result we did not sit out in the garden/ patio, which was a shame as it was one of the reasons I selected this cottage.
Farne view is a lovely property. It delivers on an everything it promises. It is perfectly placed for a quiet location yet near to anything Northumberland has to offer.
We all had a wonderful stay in Shepherd’s cottage! We were a family group of 6 adults and 3 children aged 9, 3 and 7 mths. There was room for us all. The children loved the large and secure garden and the cinema room. There were tears when we had to leave! The owners couldn’t have been more helpful when we had a minor issue with one of the showers. We all commented on the interior design - lovely The Coquet app was a great help with all the info you could possibly need. Will definitely return.
A lovely holiday home we'll suited to the 8 f us plus a dog . The garden was a comfortable secure outside space for the children and dog. Well appointed bedrooms and well stocked kitchen made it easy to settle in . The cottage was in an excellent location . Easy walking distance to the village, castle and river . With many lovely places in easy reach the whole family had a fabulous time.
Apperley Cottage is beautiful. It’s recently been renovated to a very high standard and we could not have asked for more in terms of comfort and quality. The decor is stylish and tasteful. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. It is located on an extremely busy road in the village centre and is next door to a pub, but inside the cottage it’s very quiet. It’s a gorgeous village to walk around, close to the river, beach and castle. Walkworth is an excellent location for exploring Northumberland and is only a short drive from most of the popular tourist spots.
St Paul’s view is a lovely clean and comfortable holiday cottage, well equipped and very convenient for the local town and attractions in the surrounding county. The hot tub was an extra benefit much appreciated. Situated in a pleasant area of Alnwick I would highly recommend this cottage
We loved returning to The Shiel. It's a great location and the property is so well kitted out with all we could ask for and more, especially the welcome basket bonus. Thank you so much.
A well appointed property that provided us with all we needed on our family holiday. The property has been stylishly upgraded and well planned in particular the open plan kitchen diner and the high spec finish on the ensuite room. Spacious bedrooms were great. Quiet room to the front was lovely to relax in and gaze out to sea in a morning. Property was well equipped and gave us all we could have wanted in a holiday home. The hamper was a lovely touch and much appreciated.
Information provided excellent - app is a great idea. House was spotlessly clean, well equipped and very welcoming with basket of goodies Very well situated for beach, town and local facilities Bathrooms excellent with plenty of hot water, beds comfortable Only minor point- no instructions for use of washer/drier so couldn’t work out how to dry anything without washing it
We booked the Old Manse for a holiday to bring all 11 members of our family together. The house suited us perfectly with large comfortable en suite bedrooms for each couple and the children. The large garden was great for al fresco dining and for playing games. The location is a comfortable walk away, down a footpath along the old railway track, from Seahouses and its harbour and beaches. Another path goes direct to the beach. Lovely walks to Bamburgh and elsewhere are possible without using the car, while there are numerous visitor attractions within a c 30 minute car drive.
Stayed here for two weeks, very impressed with the accommodation, first impressions count. We are regular visitors to Alnmouth, so glad of reasonable proximity to the beach and restaurants/pubs. On entering the property, it was evident the cleaning team had done a thorough job, it was clean and fresh; we were also very appreciative of the welcome pack, some nice touches, dogs also were given treats. The property is well resourced with ample crockery, glassware etc, although the pan handles were poorly insulated and got very hot. The complimentary toiletries were well received, also glad o...more
We found Nursery cottage to be of a very high standard unfortunately although close to Alnwick centre and within easy walking distance the access via a large council estate and behind a old people's home very disappointing, the views from the garden were very restricted due to the 6feet high fencing hiding the properties behind, the only view of Alnwick castle was from the upstairs bedrooms. All the above points would deter us from returning to Nursery cottage in the future.
Absolute fabulous location. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Arrival was a bit confusing though, but managed to speak to someone at Coquette who assisted. For future reference, the space for Jolliffe is in the two bay. But we had a fantastic holiday in Bamburgh, looking forward to coming back
Lovely cottage, beautifully renovated and very comfortable and clean. Well equipped with lots of nice touches such as the welcome packs for both humans and dogs! Private, enclosed front patio area. Lesbury is a very pretty village with a shop and a great pub, The Coach Inn, just a few minutes walk away. Very friendly staff, good atmosphere, we had a couple of excellent meals there. So much to do and see in the surrounding area, beautiful beaches.
The cottage was ideal for our stay with our dog. Out in the countryside but also withiin easy access to a beach - Warkworth Dunes were the nearest.
We had never visited the area and were looking for something different. This property Is ideally located and of a high quality. It enabled us to visit numerous locations in the region and the 'buzz' on Saturday was very good. A visit to the Tanners Arms is a must. Morpeth has the best shopping options. Avoid 'Coldstream, we later learned it has lost it's former glory.
Beautiful cottage in a beautiful place. Ideally situated. Well equipped for all your needs, lovely well maintained garden. Excellent
A lovely cottage, beautiful light and airy space, very well equipped kitchen. Very comfortable all round. Garden is laid to a large grassed area, peaceful and tranquil. Excellent dark skies for stars with the added bonus of barn owls flying over.
We had a good stay at Orchard Cottage. We are familiar with Alnwick having stayed in a variety of other properties in the town over the last 10-15y. We booked late this time and it was a sensible price for the location and the summer, but there was not that much else available TBH. We were mum and dad and 2x teenagers. The internet was fine for what we needed and the large TV and soundbar was great for evenings. The kitchen floor and table was spacious and had good equipment, we cooked a few nights to save on costs. The second downstairs toilet was a bit peculiar being through a small cour...more
Our second stay at The Atrium. Bright, airy flat with a pleasant outlook over the grounds of the Alnwick Family Hub. There was a lot of noise from there on the Saturday and Sunday, but that was unusual. The bedroom with balcony access was very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. I think a couple of grab rails to assist getting in and out of the bath (to access shower over) would be very useful. It felt very precarious climbing in and out. I am quite agile and have good balance. Some people could find accessing the shower very challenging.
We had a great stay in this lovely apartment. It was well equipped, in great condition and a super central location to all what Alnwick has to offer. The supermarket opposite is very handy if need any food, toiletries etc. The covered parking was good to have ,though the space is very tight if you have a SUV or bigger car. We could not access the boot or rear doors once we had reversed into the spot which I recommend you do for getting out again. The apartment was spacious and the lift was handy when we arrived with all our luggage. We found the air fryer useful but if there was 4 of you it wo...more
A stunning location on the harbour with great sea views from the lounge. We spent hours just watching and listening to the sea, spotting seabirds and a highlight again spotting dolphins. It’s a lovely well located cottage with an awesome mattress on the bed which with the noise of the sea gave great nights sleep. Only regret is we didn’t book for longer and will be back again
As first time visitors to Northumberland Tower Cottage was ideally placed. Very comfortable and quiet with the perfect view of the Castle.
The cottage is in a brilliant spot, great to walk to Craster and Dunstanburgh Castle, local pub, Cottage Inn, is good for food and only 50 yards away. Beaches at Embleton, Newton-by-the Sea easy to get to and beautiful.
I am not one to complain but I feel a bit short changed ,UP stairs cannot fault ,both bedrooms fine .bathroom and garden was disappointing.Toilet seat was not secure to base ,toilet holder is broken ,shower glass leaks all over floor when having shower.Wall tiles not clean ,bathroom just needs a wee bit tlc .Garden area ,broken paving slabs .weeds growing all over paving area ,patio doors on out side had not been cleaned for a while .we had no hot water for the whole stay ,I did register this with the office who tried to help but did not work.so boiler needs look at regarding hot water .centra...more
We stayed with our young grandchildren at Grace Cottage and found it everything we could have hoped for. Close enough to the village amenities and beach but just far enough out to avoid the crowds. The Cottage was clean and well equiped for a comfortable and enjoyable week.
Excellent property with lovely furnishings and plenty of crockery and cutlery. Good location, just in the village.
We were very pleased at the property and the welcome pack was delicious. Could have had a microwave but was no problem. A bit disappointed that there were no toiletries as was looking forward to trying the ones that was advertised.
The cottage was lovely, clean, welcoming and just as it appeared on the booking site. A welcome pack was provided with all the basic essentials and more. The two bedrooms were spacious and the beds were all comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped with a power shower and a lovely bath (just what you need after a days outing). The steps down from the front door into the lounge and the lounge into the kitchen took some getting used to (maybe a strip at the top of the steps would be helpful if possible). All in all we had a really good stay thank you .
We had a lovely family holiday at Puffin Cottage. There was plenty of space for five adults, a one year old and a dog. The location was especially good being situated quietly in North Sunderland but only a pleasant 10 minute stroll to the excellent facilities in Seahouses. The fabulous Northumberland coast was easily accessible and we loved our visits to Alnwick, Bamburgh and Beadnell. The hi light of our week , although it is difficult to choose just one, would probably be the coastal walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle and on to Embleton beach - absolutely stunning! Puffin Cottage mad...more
This cottage is very comfortable, well equipped with a beautiful garden. It is suitable for families of all ages including dogs. It is close to all amenities in the village and within easy walking distance of Warkworth beach and Amble. This has been my second stay at the cottage and I have no hesitation about a return visit.
Brilliant accommodation with everything you would wish for a self-catering stay - and more ! Welcome hamper and scones was a lovely treat. Plenty bathroom space if 2 couples staying as main bedroom is en suite with shower and second bedroom opposite bathroom - and each bedroom had its own TV Huge fridge freezer for storing food if you want to cook your own meals Having streaming services on TV in lounge was an added luxury And watching all the little birds flying around front garden was an added bonus Definitely recommend
We have stayed at a number of Coquet Cottages before and always found them exceptional. Unfortunately The Buttery didn’t live up to that high standard. A very difficult entry, particularly with luggage, uncomfortable seating, small en-suite. The property seemed disproportionate in size with a very large kitchen area, very small dining and overall quite claustrophobic. The windows were very dirty. The garden was decent, but not as convenient as just stepping outside with a drink. We also were asked to put the bin out which was incredibly heavy packed with previous occupants rubbish. The price w...more
This is a great centrally located apartment within a lovely quiet building. Excellent access with a lift if needed and great to have a designated parking space. It’s only a short walk to a supermarket, bars, shops, restaurants and the Castle making it a very desirable location within Alnwick. Excellent communication from Coquet Cottages with a very well thought out digital guidebook which we did find very useful. The apartment was well appointed , with everything you would need for a short stay and the bed very comfortable. Our only disappointment was on arrival, we found lots of crumbs in...more
A superb location right on the staithes and a lovely walk into the town and the patio area was very pleasant
Great location, very quiet, well equipped. Nice large front garden. The cottage could do with a deep clean. Bins full.
Cosy, well equipped cottage located in the centre of Bamburgh. Great to have the courtyard where we enjoyed a sunny evening. Customer service was great throughout the booking process and in the lead up to our holiday. Would recommend.
A perfectly sized and well positioned spot for our family of six adults. Beautifully appointed with luxuriant bedding and good quality natural carpets. Superb walks/runs along the beach and river with plenty of fauna and flora to take in. The castle views from the windows are magnificent and awe inspiring.
A very tired house and outdoor space. Cleanliness and fittings nowhere near the standard normally seen. We have used Coquet a number of times and always been impressed with the high standard of accommodation and facilities. Sadly this was not the case at Strathmore. Cleanliness was an issue throughout the house. The garden was not great for our two little ones and the hot tub did not function properly either. The summer house and some outdoor furniture were not usable and all in all a very disappointing stay in our favourite place in the uk. One of the cots for the babies was also in need of a...more
A comfortable stay and good location but not up to Coquets usual standards. We were lucky with the weather otherwise we would not have wanted to spend extra time at the property. Disappointed that issues raised by previous people had not been actioned upon. Scruffy and unkempt/dirty outdoor space and v dark internal rooms which smelt v strongly of dog and lounge furniture needed a thorough deep steam clean. We ended up tidying the leaves and weeds ourselves! Bathroom towels smelt dank and couldn’t be used. The property is in need of maintenance and looks tired.
Strathmore is a lovely welcoming house that was ideal for our family gathering for a big birthday. There was plenty of room for 6 adults and 3 dogs. The kitchen had all the necessary utensils, the bedrooms were very good with super comfortable beds and the lounge and dining areas were great for us all to get together. We were greeted upon arrival with a lovely welcome hamper including fresh cake, which was much appreciated. We had favourable weather during the week so we were able to make good use of the lovely gardens, seating areas and the hot tub. Catherine was on hand when needed and respo...more
Fantastic location. An enjoyable week in a homely cottage. Warkworth is a lovely village with great access to the castles and beaches.
Watergate cottage is a comfortable & well-equipped base in an excellent location to explore Bamburgh and the surrounding area. The welcome basket was much appreciated & the owner responded immediately when we had a query. Lots of nice places to eat in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses as well as lovely coastal walks & many castles to visit.
