The house is well located for Northumberland coast and country and has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. I’m not sure I’ve ever stayed in a better equipped apartment. Everything in good condition and working as expected. There was an excellent welcome basket provided by the very friendly hosts as well, again probably the best we’ve experienced yet.

There’s plenty of sofa space for everyone and the mezzanine was a great little hideaway for the younger member of our party.

Hot tub was a great touch and very relaxing after a day out and about.

Location wise it’s very close to some of the best spots on the coast - Druridge bay is just across the road and it’s only a short drive to Amble, Alnmouth and other nice locations on the coast. Not far to Newcastle if you want some city time.

Plenty of parking space outside too.

If I had any criticisms they are very minor - being a dog friendly property and us not being dog owners, it was noticeable that there had been dogs staying in the recent past. However we did know that they accepted dogs so that is on us.
One of the single beds that makes up the king in the en-suite room has a bit of a sag in the middle and could maybe do with replacement.
On arrival (in the dark) it wasn’t entirely clear where we should go and the security light only comes on when you’re right at the door. Key box is relatively high up, quite hard to read the digits at night. Not a huge issue.

However don’t let any of those minor issues put you off, this is genuinely one of the best places we’ve stayed in the area (and we’ve visited frequently) and we’d not hesitate to recommend it.

The Revilo is absolutely brilliant wee gem. Great location, very very well equipped. Good quality fixtures and fittings. The best view. The owners are fab. Very helpful. WiFi’s strong. TVs in all rooms. The beach is about 3 minutes away and is beautiful and off season is empty. Great food places in the towns and villages around the area. Just a brilliant stay.

The accomodation was first class and the views across the fields to the rear was something special especially when the horses came up close to the fence. The house was in a quiet area of Red Row but the villages were only a short drive away. The beach at Druridge Bay is outstanding and extremely clean, and in walking distance from the house. This is a perfect location for exploring the coast from Cresswell up to Bamburgh Castle. The hot tub was a real bonus especially after a long day out.

A lovely place for a family gathering. Highlights were the frequent sighting of the barn owl, hot tub, close proximity to some great cycling and walking tracks, sea swimming and places to eat. We could cycle to most places if time allowed

Fabulous week in this beautiful house. Very comfortable furniture both inside and out. So quiet sitting out on the patio watching the barn owls. Lovely friendly owner with lots of local knowledge. Great walks to the beach and Druridge Country Park from the doorstep but also good spot for exploring this coastline by car.

We had a lovely stay in your comfortable home . We enjoyed exploring the area .
We enjoyed the hot tub even in the rain . We were unfortunate to make much use of the great outdoor space due to the weather . The welcome pack was much appreciated.
We celebrated with a special dinner in the house which is fab for entertaining . It was a pity there was no dishwasher when every other possible appliance was there and a lot of attention to detail .
Our party included 3 adult couples , the mezzanine floor bed was quite small .
Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home we had a great time .

Thank you for leaving a review for Revilo Lookout. We're thrilled that you enjoyed your stay and were able to make use of the wonderful hot tub and entertaining space. Whilst we don't advertise a dishwasher on the property webpage, we appreciate your feedback. The bed in the Mezzanine is a double bed, however, King-size beds are available in the other two bedrooms. Once again, thank you so much for your review. We hope to welcome you back to Northumberland soon.

We enjoyed a lovely week at Revilo lookout, owner was very welcoming and helpful. House is well equipped and comfortable. Beautiful vista

The only complaint I have is that there was a noticeable amount of dog hair in both showers and on some blankets within house.

This was our second visit to Revilo and once again it didn’t disappoint. The tranquil views from the open plan lounge & ample patio area is perfect & so relaxing. Location wise for us was great, easy access to Druridge Beach and up the coastline to all the pretty villages and beaches & bays. Great variety of eateries close by & also further afield. Lots of lovely walks too ….always ending our days in the lovely hot tub ….a well stocked property with a great welcome hamper too…. We will be back…

Our three grandchildren made excellent use of the hot tub, even though the weather especially on the first night was a bit wet, they loved it. The horses in the back field were a huge highlight for the six year old. Plenty of space for us all, tv’s in each room suited the children as grandson had brought his Xbox, so once back from a big dog/beach walk, peacefully settled in for the night. Must mention bed in master en-suite room, l have a bad back and usually spend uncomfortable nights away but this was not the case here, bed was excellent, so big plus for me.
We ate out or ordered in so didn’t really do much cooking, apart from breakfasts but plenty of flatware, glasses etc. Highly recommend Rossini Italian Restaurant in Amble, very family friendly, amazing food and excellent value for money. Look forward to returning to this beautiful part of the country and returning to Revillo Lookout in Spring next year.

Great week long stay over new year, the property itself is very spacious which was perfect for what we required (4 adults, a 1 year old and a dog in our group) In terms of facilities there is pretty much everything you could ask for including board games and smart tvs etc. the only slight issue we faced as a group was perhaps the lack of a dishwasher - due to a relatively small amount of kitchen bench space it made doing the amount of washing up we had after making meals slightly difficult but again we found this was a very minor issue.

We did also have a slight issue locating the property on arrival - obviously due to the time of year it was very dark by the time we could get into the property and the sat nav / three words system unfortunately guides you to a slightly different set of buildings further up the road (At least that's what we found) unsure whether there would be anything that could be done about this within the guidebook but we did find the property easily enough following the written directions provided within the guidebook once we got in and around the village itself.

Location wise the property is in a great location for visiting the nearby areas - Around a 10 minute drive into Amble and even less to get to Druridge Bay which we used as a dog walking spot.

One last mention is a huge thumbs up for the property owner who came round to attend to the hot tub and surprised us by dropping off a bottle of prosecco on new years eve, she even offered us further items to use for our baby if required (Walker etc) and was happy for our dog to hover around her while sorting out the hot tub and when she initially came into the property to show us one or two things we had use of that we werent aware of.

All round a great stay would 100% recommend.

Thank you for your feedback following your stay at Revilo Lookout. I am delighted to hear you had a wonderful break over the New Year period and that the owners were so attentive. Regarding the What3words link in the guidebook, I will investigate this and make changes where appropriate, so thank you for bringing this to our attention. Hopefully, by making this small change, we will prevent future guests, arriving in the dark, from having the same problem. I hope to welcome you back to Northumberland in the future.

Revilo Lookout is lovely accommodation furnished and equipped to a very high standard and is very comfortable. The welcome pack was exceptional and enjoyed. Having milk and butter, etc on arrival was fully appreciated. It is in a great location to explore the beautiful Northumberland coastline and other local sites. The outside space is amazing, with countryside views, and in the summer months would make this property stand out. We made full use of the hot tub and also used the pizza oven, a nice touch. We definitely hope to return. The mezzanine bedroom is not suitable for everyone as the stairs are steep and there is no toilet on this level. However, it would not put me off coming back. Thank you for a great stay.
