Saltwater Cottage is a divine coastal retreat in the pretty Northumbrian village of North Sunderland. Less than 10 minutes easy walk from Seahouses where you can find the working harbour which is open to the public, the beach, several local and independent shops and of course some excellent pubs and fish and chip restaurants! Saltwater Cottage sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms; 1 king-size and 1 twin bedroom. It has 1 private, off-road car parking space, an enclosed lawned garden, and a wood-burning stove. Free Wi-Fi and free digital guidebook. 2 dogs are very welcome.

The cottage had been renovated well but areas were starting to require some tlc. For example lots of wall cracking, some paint needing attention and a few bathroom areas needed some work. A couple of the carpet areas were also in need of cleaning or replacing We found the settee and chair very uncomfortable but maybe that was personal preference. We have stayed in Coquet cottages before and unfortunately this fell a little short of the mark. However the kitchen was lovely and the welcome pack a nice touch. We did also expect more toiletries in the bathroom area.

Beautiful cottage suited in the perfect place. 5 minutes walk into the busy shopping area. 10 minutes onto the beach.
The cottage had a lovely garden with a perfect sun trap. We have 2 dogs which the garden is secure for them. Inside was very clean and comfortable. The place to stay for exploring towns, museums and castles.
Lovely hamper and flowers for us and the dogs which were amazing. Big thank you.
Jo, the owner is lovely I’d definitely go back. Definitely recommend.
We didn’t want to go home.

Saltwater Cottage is ideally situated close to Seahouses amenities and about a 10 minute walk to the beach. The cottage is spacious and the garden was lovely. It had everything we needed for a relaxing break with our dogs. Would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

Lovely home from home. Booked as a get away for a chilled few days to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Cannot fault the place only lacked a seaview which for us living in the middle of England is a must!
We had a wonderful few days walking on the beaches and then to comeback to a home from home was great.

Very comfortable stay everything there to make it feel like home from home love the welcome hamper came in handy especially if you are late arriving lovely garden for the dog just the right distance from the centre of seahouses so quiet but a nice stroll to the shops this was our fourth visit so it obviously is our favourite place to holiday.

We decided to go with Coquet Cottages as we thought they looked a cut above some of the other properties on offer and we were right. The cottage was in a great spot, just a 10 minute walk into the centre of Seahouses. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The welcome basket was lovely, it included an artisan bread loaf, jam, chutney, biscuits, chocolate, tea, coffee, and more. There was milk, butter and cheese in the fridge and a lovely pair of fresh scones waiting for us. It had a well equipped kitchen and a very pretty garden with garden furniture so we could sit out when weather permitted. We would definitely come back to this cottage. The only very small thing to mention is that there was no where to hang wet towels. We did find a clothes airer in the cupboard and used this, but I think some sort of towel rack would be welcome.

We really enjoyed our stay, with a wee treat of basket of goodies for us and a separate one for our dog. Lovely gesture and really helped us to feel welcome.

Another FAB stay in Northumberland @ Saltwater Cottage great location & extremly comfortable cottage for 4 adults & 2 dogs. Wonderful weather this week lits of beach walks & ice creams from Bamburgh & Spurrelli's in Amble. Northumberland you never let us down & Saltwater Cottage is lovely costal retreat.

Saltwater Cottage is beautifully furnished and is obviously a much loved second home. The bed was very comfortable with good quality linen and the kitchen had plenty of cutlery, crockery and glassware. We really appreciated the welcome hamper as did Molly the Cockerpoo.
After walking all day along the gorgeous beaches it was great to curl up on the comfy sofa to watch TV, the Netflix account was a bonus.

We had an excellent week. The cottage is a great base for the Northumberland coast. The garden was great for our dog - as was the garage for changing boots and cleaning paws.

Excellent cottage with everything you need for a very comfortable holiday. One of the most comfortable beds ever. All the facilities you need and in an excellent location so a car is not needed every day. Lovely garden and very peaceful. Highly recommended and will return for a third holiday as soon as we can.

Saltwater cottage was exactly as described on the website. It is a very warm cottage, which was great given we went in November. The kitchen/diner was amazing, had everything you need to cook if you want to eat in evenings as well as mornings. The quality of all items in the cottage was fantastic. The cottage is in an ideal location for travelling around Northumberland and Seahouses which is just down the road has a good choice of shops and places to eat. Lovely walks on the coastal path and at some of the beaches close by and it was great to return to a lovely warm cottage The Welcome Hampers (both for the humans and dogs) were amazing (best we have ever had) and the Temple Spa toiletries were lovely. Cottage was spotless, garden was amazing and in summer, I'm sure it's fantastic to sit in the kitchen diner with the french doors open.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed here, we love it, the house is very calming and comfortable and warm. The patio and garden in warm weather is lovely to sit out with a glass of wine. Also a great location for leaving your car and walking down the beach to beadnell or walking up the beach to bamburgh. Perfect.

We love the easy walk to Seahouses shops and restaurants.
Easy to get to the beach to walk to Bamburgh and Beadnell. The garage is really useful to store our bikes and golf clubs

Great location and property. 2nd year we have stayed and the garden has been much improved this year. Unfortunately the plumbing is very poor; the hot water trickles out of the upstairs bathroom tap and to have a hot bath is nigh on impossible as the hot water trickles slowly which takes a lengthy time to fill but you’ve got to keep checking the water as it eventually turns from hot to cold which can ruin the bath water temperature.

This house is very comfortable and had everything needed for an enjoyable stay. Cosy fire for a couple of colder days and a lovely garden for the warmer ones! Lovely welcome hamper with one for the dog too!
A few points to make this even better would be a few mirrors in the twin room and downstairs hallway. Also some wall hooks for coats and a shoe rack would be handy!
