The Carriage House is a beautifully restored property in the heart of arty Alnmouth Village. With four bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, an open plan kitchen and dining area, a large lounge, and a separate sun room, this spacious house is the perfect base for a family getaway. With high ceilings and original features beautifully retained and restored, The Carriage House oozes luxury throughout. There is a pretty courtyard garden to the rear, with sister property 'The Sewing Room' next door, for larger groups looking to book 2 cottages together. Our stay at The Carriage House was nothing short of delightful. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the charm and elegance of this beautifully furnished cottage. The attention to detail in the décor created a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the surrounding area.

The cleanliness of the cottage was impeccable (apart from the ovens - but we didn't use them!), and we immediately felt at ease knowing that every other corner was immaculately maintained. The comfort of the accommodations exceeded our expectations; the beds were plush and luxurious, ensuring a restful night's sleep.

The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed. The living room was a cozy haven, complete with a fireplace that added a touch of warmth and ambiance to our evenings.

Located in a picturesque village, The Carriage House offered a sense of tranquility that made our stay truly memorable.

In conclusion, we loved our time at The Carriage House. It provided us with everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Whether you're looking for a girlie weekend or a family retreat, The Carriage House by Coquet Cottages is an excellent choice.

This is the third time we have stayed at this house, primarily for the location in a small quiet village with a short walk to a lovely beach, great for our grandchildren. The house is well appointed with a nice lounge, kitchen diner and good sized bedrooms. The booking process was straightforward through Coquet Cottages and the owners provide a nice Welcome Pack on arrival,including freshly baked scones and local beers. There is no dedicated car parking spaces for the house but there is plenty of free roadside parking outside and we rarely had to park more than a short distance from the house. For those with electric cars there are two charging points on the next road a 3 minute walk from the house. Alnmouth has a good choice of pubs and restaurants so you don't have to go far to eat out.

I booked the house for a long weekend and could not have been happier with the house or it’s central location in the village. The house is beautifully appointed and very well equipped for small groups or families. The proximity to the beach makes it great for dog walkers too. I really enjoyed it and would definitely rebook.

This is our first visit to the Carriage House (although we have stayed in The Sewing room, which is attached) and it surpassed our expectations. We celebrated a 'big' birthday with family members and it was the perfect house for it. Its beautifully decorated and very comfortable. I would highly recommend.

We had a really lovely family celebration over a long weekend. The booking process with Coquet Cottages was easy, and they were helpful in accommodating all of our needs.
The house is wonderful, so close to everything in the village and also so close to the sea. A fantastic location . Lovely finishing touches too such as flowers on the kitchen table and garden table too, and yummy fresh scones .

One year on after staying at the Carriage House for a short break in April 2023, we returned for a longer break last week. I'm sure that it will not be our last visit because the property and the location has everything you need for a wonderful family break.

The property is very well appointed and comfortably accommodated the three generations of our family. Alnmouth itself benefits from good eateries and the excellent deli, whilst the beach is an attraction at any time of the year for grandchildren!

Northumberland has so many attractions to visit and many wonderful places to eat and drink - and not at Edinburgh or London prices!

I can't recommend this highly enough. It ticks all the boxes for a family holiday.

We stayed as a family group (7 adults and a dog!) in Carriage House in Alnmouth in November. The location of the property was ideal, a stone throw from the beach and very close to the local shops & pubs.
The property itself was warm, welcoming and beautifully furnished. It had everything we required for our holiday and more besides. The central log burning stove was a lovely addition and provided a focal point for our family to sit and chat after a lovely walk along the beach. The bedrooms were all spacious, beds were very comfy and the sea views from the upstairs bedrooms made this house particularly special.
Alnmouth is a lovely village, the local people were kind and friendly and made an effort to say hello, which we appreciated.
A huge thank you to the owners, who supplied us with lots of local goodies to kick start our holiday, were incredibly helpful throughout our stay and came to our rescue in retrieving an iPad which we had left behind.
A real treat, whatever the weather !

Seven adults & one dog stayed at The Carriage House. The number of bedrooms, bathrooms & general space was ideal.
The quality of the house, the furniture & fittings was excellent.
One of the party needs oxygen & we were a bit apprehensive about getting oxygen delivered. Coquet Cottages & especially the owner, went above & beyond in order to make sure we were able to receive the delivery.

We had a great time in this lovely holiday home. Really comfortable and well equipped. And in what turned out to be a wet weekend it kept wonderfully warm and cosy. The house had everything we needed and was very nicely decorated. And lovely to have sea views from some of the upstairs window seats and a nice private courtyard to the rear if the property. A great place to stay. We hope to return either to the Carriage House or its sister property 'The Sewing Room'.

The house was well equipped & very spacious.
3 of the 4 bedrooms had en-suites & the 4th had use of a bathroom.
Property was extremely comfortable & the hosts had left some lovely treats.

The house was ideal for a special family celebration due to its size, location and stylish decor. We all loved being so close to the beach as well as all the local pubs and restaurants. The little garden area at the back was totally enclosed and safe for the dogs to be supervised in and was a lovely sun trap. There is a very homely, comfortable family feel to this house, which really added to our week’s holiday in Alnmouth.

Beautiful property. Very comfortable and very well maintained. Slept very well! To be able to park in front of the garage is a real bonus. A few steps along the road to the wonderful beach was fantastic for early morning and evening walks with our dog. Lovely location with local shops, cafés, pubs and good restaurants to walk to. The Gallery is nice to browse around and have lunch/tea. Secluded courtyard is a sun trap and it was nice to chat with neighbours but not if you want total privacy! Were out a lot of the time and the location is great for exploring the delights of Northumberland in every direction. Highly recommend and sure we’ll be back!
