The Dukes is just as romantic and interesting as the name suggests. Sleeping just 2, this romantic retreat is well-positioned in the historic Malthouse building as a stylish apartment in the centre of the historic market town of Alnwick. Suitable for those with allergies to pets as pets are not permitted at The Dukes. Access to the apartment is up a flights of stairs but once there the apartment is level throughout. There's free Wi-Fi throughout and the apartment has 1 private parking space. Free digital guidebook.

5 stars all round. Situated on the first floor with stairs or a lift The Dukes is the best holiday apartment we have stayed in. Excellent facilities kitchen fully equipped with everything you made need - bathroom with excellent shower and fluffy white towels plus White Company toiletries. The lounge has comfortable seating and a dining table and chairs. Plenty of storage space eg coat hooks and clothes hangars. Everything exceptionally clean. A very generous welcome hamper is also provided. A private parking space is also very welcome. The owner Keith rang to ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything. Would highly recommend this apartment in Alnwick which is also near to all the attractions Alnwick has to offer.

Problem with shower. Hot/Cold water control valve was very stiff t adjust and could lead to scalding.
Valve could not be turned when my wife was using the shower and shower was too hot to use . I eventually managed to get the turn knob to move but wouldn’t trust this to not happen again.

We enjoyed a few days at The Dukes. We appreciated a phone call from the owner to say we could arrive early in the day. Lovely, comfortable apartment in an ideal location. Good quality provisions were available in the welcome hamper. We had a slight issue with the toilet so phoned the owner. He was very accommodating and came straight away to sort it out for us. Thank you, we hope to be back.

This is an exceptionally well appointed holiday home. Very good communication from both the letting agent and Keith the owner. The location is excellent and the supporting app provided by the letting agent is very useful. We had a really enjoyable stay.

Coquet Cottages have been very easy to deal with. Information about the property was accurate and timely. The apartment was immaculate and provided all we needed for our stay. The shower was very good and having a washer/dryer was a welcome bonus - once we had worked it out! There was lots of space and having parking on site was most useful. The Maltings are a good base in Alnwick to explore the area and we enjoyed some lovely meals out thanks to the recommendations made in the visitors book. Our compliments to the housekeeping team as the property was to a very high standard.

A very comfortable base from which to explore the area. Ideally located close to amenities in Alnwick and a short drive away from Alnmouth which has access to a mainline train station.

The property was very comfortable and in a great location for visiting other places nearby, on the coast and inland. The Maltings is a really well maintained and quiet place to stay, and parking was really useful.

This is the third different apartment that we have stayed in at the Maltings and it is by far the best. Although the apartment has only one bedroom, being designed for two people, space has not been compromised in any areas. Both the bedroom and bathroom are very spacious and the kitchen/living space was was laid out well and very well equipped. The overall cleanliness was also exceptional.
A great welcome pack was provided which included some very acceptable treats as well as a few essentials to start our week off.

We spent a week at the Dukes Alnwick in mid May 2024, we found the accommodation to be ideally located and maintained to a good standard. Alnwick is a very good location for a visit to Northumberland being in close reach of many attractions as well as being a charming town in its own right, I would like to think that we will visit again.

Our second stay in this really well appointed flat in the middle of Alnwick. Everything perfect. Really well stocked, and up to date. Quiet in the brewery conversion. No noise from neighbouring flats. Simply perfect.

This is a beautiful apartment in a central location. It’s a lot bigger inside than the photos suggest. Everything you need is provided and kitchen items are best quality. Spotless throughout. Lots of lovely cafes and shops nearby however it was in no way noisy at night. We took our bikes and were able to find cycling routes from the apartment. Would happily returns. Oh and a very generous welcome basket was provided including wine, juice and milk.

Fantastic apartment just out of the centre of alnwick, with parking. Close to some lovely bistros and bars, and a short drive from the coast. Northumbria is a beautiful, and underrated part of the country... well worth a visit.

Beautiful apartment in the perfect location to visit Alnwick Gardens and Castle. Centrally based for touring Northumberland. Set in a quiet area right by the town centre, so ideal for walking to the many local restaurants and pubs.

My wife and I were very impressed with the accommodation which was very spacious. We were delighted with the welcome pack. The location of the property was ideal and the allocated parking space was located close to the entrance to the building.

The Dukes is very well situated in central Alnwick with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break.

The welcome hamper was simply superb - a really generous and nice touch.

The apartment is clean, bright and comfortable, with lovely quality kitchen items, furniture and bedding. It felt like a little luxury whilst also very homely. I think the only things I’d add to make it perfect would be a tv in the bedroom and a second side table at the other side of the sofa, for drinks etc. But they are minor points and it really was very very good indeed.

Communication with Coquet Cottages and the owner was excellent too. We’d definitely stay again when we don’t have the dog with us (as sadly it’s not dog friendly).

The Dukes was a wonderful base to explore Northumberland. It was reassuring to come back to a welcoming, homely appartment especially as the werather wass not great. Modern, well equipped and very confritable made staying there a pleasure.

We enjoyed a lovely stay in this beautiful apartment. Well equipped and spotlessly clean in the perfect location for exploring Alnwick and its surroundings. Safe off street parking was a plus and enabled us to leave the car behind and use public transport and walking to visit many local attractions. We would highly recommend this apartment and the care and attention to the details that the owners have provided. A phone call on arrival to ask if you needed anything was great and meant that if we had any concerns we could contact them directly,however we had a wonderful time and no problems at all.

I stayed at The Dukes for four nights, the apartment was very clean and comfortable and the welcome hamper was amongst the best I have ever received.
M&S and the farm shop on the edge of town are both excellent and there are a number of good independent food shops in the Center of town.
Alnwick castle is fun if you’re a Potter fan and the Alnwick Gardens are fantastic particularly the Rose garden (gorgeous) and Poison garden (fascinating). Further afield Amble and Warkworth are worth visiting and Edinburgh is easily accessible by train.
I had a relaxing stay and would return as I still have so much to see and do in the area.
