Tower House is a beautifully restored central village home in a very prominent position within Warkworth Village. Situated right at the top of the main street, it has stunning views of the castle, especially from the bedrooms. Sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, wood burning stove, private parking, no dogs, i.e. pet-free. Free WiFi and free digital guidebook.

The welcome pack was truly wonderful and everything about Tower House just followed on to the same standard. Tower House is very well placed within the village and Warkworth itself makes a great base to visit the surrounding area.

Tower House is amazing with excellent facilities for a family with small children. The motion sensory lights fittings in the room were a real bonus when you are up during the night.

I would highly recommend Tower House and Warkworth beach is a must for all to visit. Hope to be back soon.

Very average compared to other cottages in the area.

We were really disappointed in Tower House, the noise level was far higher than we were led to believe from the advert and other reviews. From 6am to late at night the road was very busy, I certainly wouldn’t recommend it if you have young children. Speaking to the local residents they said it’s dramatically increased since the new housing developments were built. The downstairs was very drab and the sofas could do with cleaning, maybe even changing because they were very uncomfortable. The living room could also do with a bigger tv, because from the chairs it was very difficult to see. The cleanliness of the kitchen was very poor. The cutlery and its drawer in particular, hairs, particles of food. We ended up cleaning the whole lot as well as some cups and plates. Upstairs was very nice, lovely decorated bedrooms, comfortable beds with lovely linen. Very nice bathroom with plenty of hot water. The traffic noise again was very loud and nothing like we expected it to be. Outside was the most disappointing part, it could all do with a thorough clean and paint. The front door handle is virtual falling off and all the windows were very dirty. I don’t think they’d been cleaned for a while because we had the window cleaner call during our stay. He wanted payment for the cleaning the windows a while back because the owner had stopped the direct debit and so he stopped cleaning them. The patio area was filthy, both bins were completely full. The main refuge bin smelt awful and had flies in it. Both were directly next to a garden bench which we couldn’t use because of the bins. The pergola and seating area was filthy and surrounded by weeds and overgrown ivy. There’s plenty of space near an old shed that could accommodate all the bins. The whole area needs a thorough clean, the windows are covered in cobwebs. It doesn’t appear that this area has had any attention for a long, long time. So much do that we never used it, we instead went down by the river to sit out. Overall we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, the hamper was very nice though. I think the management of Coquet Cottages should actually go and view it themselves. I’m sorry if my review is disappointing but I always try to be honest. Maybe just sprucing up the outside especially the seating area would be a start. Moving the bins as well, they were really unhygienic especially the green one.

Cottage as described on web and more! Clean, comfortable, cosy and constant hot water for showers etc. Great location. Additional facilities for toddler were first class. Welcome hamper superb, thoughtfully put together to include first few days provisions and even a treat for our toddler. Board games and toys provided. Definitely recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tower house. The house has character, is comfortable and was warm and welcoming. Warkworth is a lovely village. A generous welcome hamper was provided which was great and the toiletries and cleaning products were ample for a 7 day stay. Although the house is next to the road, we were not disturbed by traffic due to the secondary glazing. In hotter weather when windows need to be opened road noise may disturb some. We enjoyed an evening drink in the outside seating area and found our stay very relaxing. The kitchen is well equipped . A couple of chests of drawers would make the storage of clothes much easier in the bedrooms where storage space was limited for four of us so would be difficult for six. Tower house makes for a comfortable base for exploring Northumberland and we would certainly return.

We stayed for three nights in early march and we couldn’t have had a nicer cottage stay. Everything was perfect and we were provided with absolutely all we needed, both by the property owners and Coquet Cottages.

Tower house is a cosy, beautifully decorated and comfortable property very central to Warkworth village so within easy strolling distance from the Castle, pubs, restaurants and all that the village has to offer, including many beautiful walks from the doorstep. The downside of this is that Warkworth (at least when we visited in early September) is extremely busy, and the road outside the property carries an almost constant stream of traffic all day long. The particulars on the website do make this clear, but it is worth emphasising, as I was very surprised how busy the road is. The soundproofing in the bedrooms, is excellent, however, and this helped enormously to reduce sound at night. I wouldn't recommend this as a property for families with small children because of the proximity of the road and absence of an enclosed garden, and although dogs aren't allowed in the property anyway, I'd be nervous about having one there. The big bonus, which is perhaps a little underplayed on the website, is the outside seating area tucked away in the corner of the driveway - this is large enough to seat all the occupants of the house on a decked area with benches/table, very pleasant for sitting in and hidden from view from the road.

The house was very well equipped. A little disappointed with the look of the outside of the house. The doors and window frames could do with a clean and a lick of paint. The parking for 2 cars was very welcome. Although the house is at the top of a busy road, traffic noise inside the house was minimal.

We had a lovely week at Tower House. The house is a great location, perfect for 2 couples, very comfy beds.
The negatives though...the house is described as luxury, which it simply isn't. Yes, it has lovely bedding and Coquet cottages provide a fab hamper, but the house simply wasn't clean enough. We had an issue with the gas cooker, which was rectified by the owner immediately however. The kitchen equipment was a bit lacking, and the outside space a bit neglected.
