We rented both cottages for a family holiday spanning four generations. The location is stunning. The cottages were clean, spacious and very well equipped. There is plenty of outdoor space and idea for children. The welcome pack was much appreciated.

It was a bonus to all sit around the kitchen table in the Haybarton at meal times.

We would highly recommend.

We hired Bidwell Farm cottages to celebrate my 60th birthday with our 4 grown up children, their partners, our two grandchildren and two dogs! Quite a houseful!
Two wonderful cottages set in beautiful grounds. All I can say is that it was perfect in every way. We all had our own personal space in the 6 beautiful en-suite bedrooms but also there was plenty of room to come together as a large group of 12. We used the outdoor patios and wood burners too. It was a very special week. Caroline was lovely to deal with and couldn’t have been more helpful. Thank you we will be back!

Both cottages were very comfortable and extremely well equipped with everything we could need. Outside the table and chairs and seating together with the bbq meant al fresco dining was very convenient and enjoyable . There was lots of space for the children to run about and all enjoyed the swings and trampoline. The children also loved been shown how to feed and let out the ducks in the morning . The setting of the cottages gave lovely views over the surrounding countryside. Richard and Patsy were very pleasant and welcoming hosts and we all enjoyed the book they gave us outlining the conversion of a once neglected and dilapidated farm house and outbuildings into the stunning condition it is today. The computer app provided at the time of booking gave a comprehensive and accurate description of what was provided in each cottage removing the need to bring unnecessary items. There was also a very detailed and useful guide on the surrounding area. We would heartily recommend the cottages to any family holidaying in Devon.

We booked both Haybarton and Cowbyre for a family holiday and we could not have chosen better. From the very beginning Caroline made the whole experience so easy and the phone App with everything you need to know was brilliant.
Every bedroom has fantastic views and it was very peaceful and quiet. There was so much to do in the area but the children were also happy just to play on the trampoline and in the very extensive gardens, whilst the adults relaxed on the outdoor seating areas. Both houses were very well equipped and Patsy and Richard, the Caroline's parents who live on site, could not have been more helpful, providing information on many topics including fossil hunting! We were spoiled for choice for local restaurants but it is worth pre-booking at busy times. We will definitely consider returning, maybe at a different time of year.

Highly recommended.

There isn't a bad word you could say about this place! From the original communication, Caroline was very friendly, helpful and informative. The apps provided gave extensive information which was a great touch and were really useful. Caroline called to let us know we could arrive hours early which was really appreciated. Both cottages were beautiful, very clean and couldn't possibly be more equiped! The grounds are gorgeous and Caroline's parents that live onsite are really lovely (but also respected our privacy). We had a brilliant trip away and would love to return. The guest app had a recommendation for a mobile beauty therapist Jemima who we booked and she was wonderful! Everyone really enjoyed. Thank you again

A very warm welcome when we arrived. The cottages are set in ample grounds, beautifully kept. The grandchildren were free to explore and enjoy the space and facilities. So much so that we didn't need to take them out every day as they were so happy. They especially enjoyed looking after the ducks with Patsy and Richard.
Beautiful views to wake up to. Close to the village and other amenities.
A perfect holiday for us, our children and grandchildren.

We were a family of 8 and rented both properties. A perfect location with the local pub only 8 minutes walk away, good food. The owners were very helpful, and any queries were efficiently dealt with prior to holiday. Grandchildren enjoyed feeding the ducks and playing in the extensive grounds.

Both properties had a patio with plenty of seating, along with a wood burner, a lovely place to sit around in the evening.

Good spacious rooms, comfortable beds, very clean and lovely hot showers

A group of 7 rented both cottages and they proved perfect. We have stayed before and this time was no disappointment. The group were all very happy with the accommodation and facilities which once again were first class.

We had both cottages for a family celebration. Everything you could want is there. Lovely ensuite bedrooms, well equipped kitchens, comfortable lounges and dinning areas. A country pub 5 mins walk away with great food. The cottages are in a good position for visiting other locations like Lyme Regis and Monkey World. An all round fabulous location for a holiday in the South West.

This was the most delightful place to stay in every way. Both cottages had been thoughtfully set up with everything that we needed (from cots, to high chairs and toys). They were spotless too.

We were greeted with a warm, friendly welcome, plus two lovely "baskets" one being full of logs! We loved the attention to detail and effort that went in to making the houses feel like home. There was nothing we needed or wanted that could have made this stay any better - it was perfect! In fact, it was so good our daughter and her family have stayed on a little longer - and like us are finding it hard to leave!!

We loved the ducks on the pond, they were a great hit with the children.

Once again, a huge thanks Caroline and all of the family. We will be back!

This was our second stay at Bidwell and it was just as fantastic this time round, everything was perfect! Both cottages are immaculately clean and decorated beautifully and Caroline along with her wonderful parents really couldn’t do anymore to make the stay more perfect.

Our stay at Bidwell Farm was bliss. The cottages were welcoming, cosy, fully-equipped and comfortable. So many things added up to make this the most perfect venue for a family holiday, particularly with friends. From the home-made bread & marmalade to the welcome bottle of wine & ice-cream, from the wonderful outside space to the cupboard full of board games, everything was wonderful. It was lovely to have Richard & Patsy close to hand for help and advice (and a second order of bread).
We couldn't fault the Cowbyre. The Haybarton is a fabulous space, although the upper bedrooms were difficult to cool/ ventilate on hot days - a couple of fans would solve this minor problem.

Overall, it was declared the best family holiday we've ever been on. We will be back!

We rented both Haybarton and Cowbyre for our annual Easter family holiday and it worked perfectly - the living room and kitchen/dining room in Haybarton was big enough to accommodate us all for family meals and relaxation in the evening. Both properties are finished to a very high standard and extremely well equipped - a lot of thought has gone into the properties and we especially enjoyed the great range of games and toys provided. The owner's parents live in the adjacent farmhouse and could not have been more helpful throughout our stay.
Upottery is an attractive village (with a great pub) in beautiful countryside and is within easy reach of the Dorset and Devon coasts. There was plenty to keep us all occupied.
Highlights included collecting duck eggs every morning, playing football in the extensive grounds, an Easter egg hunt , and a day trip to Lyme Regis.
These cottages are exceptional and I am very happy to recommend them without hesitation. The challenge for next year will be to find somewhere as good.

We stayed at Bidwell Farm over the new year with two other family's. We had 6 adults 6 children.
The communication from Caroline was quick and easy from the start. We had all the information needed to prepare for our stay.
The cottages are relaxing and warm. The grounds beautifully peaceful. We had the best weekend and would definitely rebook!

We were very impressed by the two cottages and they were perfect for our needs. Everything we needed was provided and the accommodation was spacious and comfortable. The grounds were perfect for young children and the location was great for coastal walks and near entertainment for the kids!

We booked both cottages for the extended family and this worked out really well.
The cottages and the open spaces were both really just what we needed for the numbers and space for the grand children to play in with the swings being very popular.

The children enjoyed looking after the ducks under the guidance of RIchard.

We would recommend this to anyone who want the space and comfort of a self catering holiday for the family.

A beautiful location with stunning views in all directions.
Both cottages well furnished with everything you could possibly want or need for your stay.

The perfect getaway, the cottages were delightful and we didn't want to leave! The owners left no stone unturned in making is making us feel welcome. Just wonderful.
