We recently spent a week in Apple tree lodge with my daughter and her boyfriend with their two dogs. The lodge was spacious and very well equipped with comfortable bedding and towels. The dogs enjoyed access to a large field opposite the lodge. The hot tub was lovely under the night sky. Our hostess Janice was very helpful with suggestions for walks and local restaurants.

Lovely, clean, warm, comfortable lodge in a beautiful location.
The minute we walked in we wished we had booked for longer but were on a flying visit for a wedding.
We could have happily stayed there all week!
Hosts were friendly, very helpful and responded quickly to any queries before and after our stay.
Highly recommended.

Stayed as a couple with our grandchild & the place exceeded our expectations. Property is spacious, spotlessly clean and provides very comfortable accommodation. The owners have provided everything you need for a self catering holiday and as well as freshly ground coffee, tea & coffee pods it was lovely to find a wee bottle of fresh milk in the fridge on our arrival for a welcoming cuppa! Our grandchild was excited to find a wee giftbag and we enjoyed sharing the other additional treat and shortbread! There is a Welcome file filled with guidance for using the hot tub safely and carefully, information about nearby restaurants & shops and leaflets regarding local visitor attractions. Janice visited us during our first morning & provided further useful information and advice relevant to our requirements. The location was perfect and pretty central in meeting our requirements in travelling to Fife and Renfrewshire as well as within Tayside. Staying on the farm was so much fun & we loved watching the chickens and cows daily. Overall, we found our lodge was so peaceful and relaxing and a proper retreat in which to unwind - especially in the fabulous hot tub! We look forward to a return visit. Thank you!

Stayed at this lovely lodge for 3 nights to celebrate a family birthday. The open plan kitchen , dining and seating area was brilliant for this. The ensuite bedrooms were roomy with plenty storage space and very comfortable. The hot tub and pizza oven were a big hit.

We had a lovely time in the lodge. We were staying with our family of 6 adults. Loved the hot tub . Showers worked well. The kitchen was very well equipped .We met the host who was delightful and gave helpful suggestions of places to visit and prior to our stay our host was able to provide a list of taxi companies .

We had a great weekend stay in apple tree lodge for a friends special birthday. The lodge and the rooms are fantastic with lots of space and everything you need provided. The hot tub was a great addition to the lodge which everyone enjoyed. Thanks for such a great stay!

Perfect location in beautiful scenery.
Ideal for trips to Dundee and places of interest.
Accommodation was perfect in every way. And hot tub topped it off. Glass of wine,or two , relaxing and starry sky guessing at the constellations on view.What's not to like ? Ideal location for our weekend at a family wedding held in the wonderful Fingask Castle.

Rented for 3 days attending Wedding at Guardswell Barn - literally 5 mins away.
The lodge is fantastic. Very well presented, large kitchen/diner. Comfortably sleeps 6. Very large en-suites in each of the 3 bedrooms. Hot tub and pizza grill too. Would 100% definitely book again for a much deserved break

The Apple Tree lodge at Milton Farm is a beautiful lodge, with a fantastic main living space. The living room and master bedroom have French doors leading onto a lovely front decking with benches, which also takes you round to a great big hot tub and pizza oven (recommended to try). The lodge is kept to a very high standard and they very kindly leave a few essentials which are needed (milk, tea, biscuits, dishwasher tablets etc). The WiFi was great and the TV has all the usual apps/Netflix etc if needed.

Janice couldn’t have been a more friendly, knowledgeable or welcoming host. The locals were all lovely (including a great Milton discounted breakfast at the antiques store 2 mins walk down the road). If booking a local taxi, go Birkhill - he’s a great local taxi man. We would highly recommend the local fishery at Ledyatt too if that’s your thing!

Just back from a relaxing break at Milton Lodges, the views are breathtaking, with feature walls looking out onto spring lambs happily skipping about in the opposite fields and the beautiful rolling hills behind. The Lodges are luxurious, spacious and very clean. Central for trips to Perth, Dundee and St Andrews and next door to The Scottish Antiques and Arts Centre which makes for a great day out. The Lodges are great for those looking to unwind and relax, Janice is a wonderful host. Cannot recommend these lodges highly enough.

This is our second stay at this well equipped and spacious lodge. Our bonus was having the hot tub on this visit. Placed on a beautiful location and is well situated to reach the surroundings towns and cities. Close to the large antique centre with a great cafe and a bonus to get 10% of your purchase!!!.

My only criticism would be that the towels need replacing as in my opinion are not up to the standard of this 5 star property. Would be beneficial to include a large bath towel.

Would definitely love to return for our 3rd visit very soon.

We have used Appletree Lodge before and we love it!
Immaculately Clean, Well equipped and very comfortable.
The lodges are perfectly situated for peace, quiet and scenery. The kids play area was a hit and being on the farm with all the animals made it perfect.
Local shop for all you need close by, with Perth and Dundee short drive away.
Brilliant for things to do. The beaches are fantastic, kids and dogs alike loved it!
We went in hopes of snow and it didn't disappoint, one day we woke up to a winter wonderland. A full day's fun in the snow was perfect!
The lodges are dog friendly even getting their own welcome pack.
Janice is the perfect host.
5* would highly recommend.

Janice was great from the get go, with a lovely courtesy call after the initial booking to explain what the lodge and local area has to offer. The lodge itself is up there with one of the best I’ve stayed in. Cleanliness cannot be faulted. Stayed in apple lodge for 4 nights as we were attending a wedding at gaurdswell farm. Janice the owner was very helpful before hand recommending hair and make up for myself. We arrived 2 hours early in our motor home and Janice did everything thing possible to get it ready for us ASAP. On entering the lodge we were very impressed with the cleanness the decor and the overall luxurious feel. The lodge was fully equipped with everything you might need. The view was my favourite the new born calves were just amazing and a really joy to watch from the sofa they really were adorable. My children fell in love with the dog and I had to double check the hadn’t sneaked him into our motorhome when we left. The personal touches just finished it off fresh flowers milk etc it was very relaxing stay and the food nest door was very nice too, I would definitely recommend Milton lodges

A beautiful peaceful location with a lovely view from the panoramic front windows. It was very relaxing to sit on the veranda watching the cattle graze in the field in front. It was a great base for travelling to local tourist spots. Janice was very friendly and took time to explain the local amenities and give advice. We had a great break at AppleTree lodge and our 17 month old granddaughter loved the freedom to run about the large open plan living area and out of the doors onto the safe secure veranda which incidentally was also appreciated by our cocker spaniel who could also sit and watch the cows. We would certainly recommend a visit.

We stayed in Milton Farm lodges for a week with our two young children and dog. The hosts were very accommodating from the point of booking, and quick to respond to email queries.

We received a friendly welcome from Janice and felt everything was clean, and great consideration had gone into covid compliance.

Welcome package with tea, coffee and milk along with some dog treats and dog bowls was also appreciated.

The lodge was well equipped and spacious. Free WiFi appreciated as mobile phone signal in the area was poor.

The lodge is close to Dundee and Perth for things to do, but a car would be required for access unless taxis are a consideration.

Only mild downside was that the lodge became very hot due to the large south facing windows and large un-blinded velux windows which we couldn't not open hence 4 stars for comfort. A week of near unbroken sunshine in Scotland as we experienced is very unusual though, but would have appreciated a mechanism to open the velux windows to allow heat to escape. The host did explain this was due to rain having come in when the windows were left open previously.

Dogs couldn't be left alone in the lodge, unless in a crate, but the hosts run a kennel on site which we were able to access for an additional fee.

Overall I would certainly recommend for a family or group of friends looking for a quiet week away.

Wonderful accommodation, high quality & very comfortable. Everything you could need for a peaceful break. We stayed for 6 nights & would have liked a couple more! This is a rural setting adjacent to the working farm, lovely views over the pastures from the lodges. You definitely need a car but only a 5 min drive to the nearest village and a short drive to Dundee and Perth.
The lodge has 3 large bedrooms & 3 bathrooms, all a good size. The living space is lovely, flooded with natural lights and has a narrow, enclosed verandah deck outside which is great for watching the animals in the pasture. Large hot tub .
Would have benefited from some more comfortable outside seating, maybe a couple of recliner chairs or sun beds. Dog friendly too, our pup loved it as much as we did.

I would highly recommend staying in Apple tree lodge. The rooms are lovely, the kitchen has everything you need and the hot tub is a fantastic addition to help you relax in this lovely location.

We had a 7 night break and Janice was so helpful and accommodating. The lodge was superb and so quiet and peaceful. Perfect location for going out and about and seeing some beautiful country side. This was our pups first holiday and she settled so well and loved the field in front to play in. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back

Fabulous stay at Apple Tree Lodge for Oct Half Term as a family of 2 adults, 3 kids and a puppy. The lodge itself was a fantastic size, lovely rooms, great sized bathrooms and all the touches needed, all of great quality. Only thing could do with is seperate towels for the Hot Tub so bring extra for that.
We would definitely recommend to friends/family and would stay again if in that area.

We had a lovely stay on the weekend of the 23rd of October janice was so nice when we first arrived she talked us through all the stuff about the lodge and were we could go etc we went walks over the hills and down to the river aswell, the antique and foodhall which was next door is very good, I'll definitely be back.

Milton Farm Lodges was the ideal location for us. Isolated enough to keep safe but close enough to towns and amenities. It’s beautiful location was peaceful and relaxing. The owners were on hand should you need them but kept a respectful distance. All in all would not hesitate to return.

This was our second stay at Milton Farm lodges. We stayed in Plum lodge last year with our 2 grandsons whilst visiting relatives who live in Inchture. This year daughter & son in law also stayed with us. Plenty of room for all 6 of us. Lodges well planned out as each bedroom has own bath/shower room. Stayed in Apple lodge this year which has just had the addition of a hot tub which was a great hit with the family. Beautifully clean, well equipped lodges & Janice & her husband very welcoming & on hand with any queries.
We went to the Antiques centre for lunch a couple of times during our stay (10% discount off meals if you show your lodge key) which we booked in advance as limited numbers due to corona virus situation. Plenty to do nearby with children even though everything not fully open at the moment. The boys particularly enjoyed the aqua park at Foxlake in Dundee & crazy golf on the outdoor pitch at Fife leisure park in Dunfermline (40 mins drive). We also went to St Andrews which has a beautiful beach & visited the wildlife centre in Camperdown Country Park. There is also a large adventure playground in Camperdown park.
Location of lodges is excellent as very quiet & peaceful but easy access to get out & about. We enjoyed watching the cattle walking up and down the field & they would come to the fence when they saw you outside. The boys also enjoyed going to see the calves and sheep in the pens at the farm.
We are already looking at dates to book again for next year!!

We had a brilliant holiday at Milton Farm Lodges. We stayed in Apple Tree Lodge which has its own hot tub that we enjoyed many times. The farm itself is a working farm and has (when we were there) pet lambs and a pet calf. There are also cattle in the field opposite the lodge. It's an indication of how quiet and peaceful it is there that you can hear the cattle munching the grass as they meander by.

The lodge itself was spotless and very well appointed. Comfy beds and sofas made it very relaxing.

There's plenty to do round and about and Inchture has a Spar mini-supermarket 5 minutes drive away which is handy. We had dinner at the Inchture Hotel which was very nice. As we had our dog with us, we were able to eat outside. The owners, Janice and her husband couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. It's clear they have a great deal of pride in the lodges and deliver an extremely high standard of accommodation and service. We will definitely be back.

We would thoroughly recommend Milton Farm Lodges for an excellent holiday in beautiful surroundings.

We were using the cottage with friends as attending a wedding nearby. Everything was perfect, clean, in working order. The cottage itself is a lovely oasis in a beautiful setting, and I can't recommend enough. A perfect location to get out to the country and enjoy some r&r. Enjoy your stay!

The hostess Janice provides excellent accommodation and excellent personal service. She makes sure everything is perfect and goes out of her way to make sure your holiday is perfect. The lodge is large and well furnished and is in an ideal position for relaxing or as a base for touring. Being able to watch the sheep and cattle is an added bonus and makes for a relaxing time. Janice's husband and family ensure your stay is a happy one as they are always on hand to give help if needed.

Warm and inviting lodges with everything you need provided for. The owners were extremely helpful if we had an queries and let the kids have a look at all their animals. They are in a quiet and safe location yet only 15 minutes into Dundee and a 10 minute drive from Fingask Castle where we were attending a wedding. Perfect for doing the family thing yet having are own space!! We will hopefully be back!

overall a splendid lodge for a holiday, nothing too much trouble for Janice and Michael, two points which would increase the enjoyment, the sound from the tv with a serious echo making listening difficult and filling in the potholes in the drive would be most welcome. would still want to go back if the occasion arose.

This was our (a party of six friends) third visit to Apple Tree Lodge. We always find it to be in perfect condition - and always look forward to our annual visit.
To have three en-suite bedrooms is such a find and there are lovely, kind touches like milk and FRESH eggs (they made a lovely omelette) in the fridge. Shortbread for a cup of tea and some fudge for everyone. We think that is really generous and thoughtful.
Everything is spotlessly clean and all the equipment is of really good quality.
It is a great centre for visiting Dundee and other areas in central Scotland. We can’t recommend it enough. Janice and her team do a great job- and we thank them for all their efforts.

We had a lovely stay at Apple Tree lodge. We were there to see family so the location worked well for us. The lodges are set in a farm and the kids loved seeing the newly born lambs (one five minutes old) and calves. There is a large field for playing in.

It’s possible to walk on the road if you want to have a short walk directly from the lodge and there are track walks about 3 miles drive away. Most amenities do require a drive but that wasn’t an issue for us.

The owners were very friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our fresh eggs - thank you.

Our stay here in October 2018 was our second stay in this lodge. It was every bit as good second time around and it easily accommodated our party of six. Plenty of room in the living area and also the dining and kitchen areas. Each couple had private use of a bedroom with a bathroom / shower room for each.

Everything we needed was provided and the whole place was very clean and welcoming.

I'm sure we will be back again soon!

We have been coming to Milton Farm Lodges for some years and always enjoy our stay. Janice, the owner, cannot do enough to make our holidays special. The entire Sands family are a pleasure to meet.
