A comfortable and cosy cottage in lovely surroundings. Walks straight from the doorstep and in a great location for exploring South Suffolk.
The cottage is absolutely lovely. Everything you need. Fully enclosed beautiful garden for our dogs and amazing walks at Thornham Walks to get you moving. House has everything you need. Pub down the road is lovely and for the veggie/vegans the Walnut Tree pub is 5 minute drive down the road and is amazing! Highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in The Old Post Office. It wasn't our original choice of accommodation due to a mistake with booking on both parts, however the customer service from Suffolk Hideaways was fantastic and they worked hard to find somewhere suitable for the family and meeting our needs. My Nan is disabled and the property had a beautiful annexe which she was able to stay in so that everything was on the one floor. It was full of character and the interior design was right up our street! We had also been left some complimentary supplies to get us started. Thank you for a wonderful ...more
What a fantastic place. We booked to go for 4 days after getting married as a mini moon. Perfect place to relax, we walked for miles during the day. Then came back at pizza from the local pub and chilled in the hot tub. We will certainly be going back
We know the area well but this location was new to us, a very good find. There were 4 of us, oldest 90 youngest 1.5 and it just worked. Very friendly and helpful owners. If you want peace and quiet in a timber framed cottage this little gem may be for you, we loved it.
Flint Cottage is situated in the delightful village of Wenhaston. it has more local amenities than many, including an interesting ancient church, nearby pub offering food. There is a local bus service connecting with Halesworth and Southwold. So, it is well placed for exploring the surrounding countryside whether on foot or by car or using public transport. This Victorian terraced cottage is typical of its type with a narrow winding staircase leading immediately to the first floor bedroom and an adjoining bathroom. It is small and cosy but well modernised with all amenities provided for an en...more
We had a great time here and would definitely consider coming back with the children. The accommodation was very well thought out and clean, great appliances and it had everything you need for a weeks stay. The ease of getting into Southwold and the surrounding towns was great! A brilliant summer holiday with kids.
The Buttery was perfect for the short, away-from-it-all break I was looking for... and the views over fields and woods were wonderful. The cottage (one of three rental properties) is a great mix of clean modern design and rustic charm, and while it's set on a working farm, it's very quiet. I enjoyed my morning chats - tea in hand - with the cows in the paddock around the corner!
Fab cottage! Very comfortable beds and very well equipped! Especially good location and really enjoyed my stay.
The Scrumpy Shepherd was immaculate and located in a beautiful setting surrounded by meadows and trees.Lovely little touches such as delicious homemade cake, marshmallows to toast on the fire and fresh flowers in the hut and on a garden table were all appreciated. We had a wonderful stay - it was all one hoped it coud be.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at lovely Briar Cottage for a week in August. The cottage is very tastefully furnished and immaculately kept with comfy beds and quality bedlinen and towels etc. The owner left flowers and a bottle of wine as a welcome which was much appreciated. The cottage has great Wifi and everything you could need for a short stay. The garden is small and very pretty and planted with low maintenance coastal style planting really setting the scene for a coastal/rural retreat. Our little dog was very happy wondering around in safety and lying in the shade. The weather was ve...more
We normally spend July in the Algarve, but this year opted to stay in the UK and set our sights on Suffolk. We wanted wilderness and we got it at The Wilderness plus a few extras like tennis, a chef and a large screen TV absolutely essential for the World Cup. Not sure if our dog enjoyed it more than we did, but it definitely provided the tranquility, space and landscape we were looking for. The on-site team were welcoming and responsive and should be commended for providing a top notch service in an incredible setting.
Garden Cottage is beautiful, it has everything you could wish for to make your stay special. There were so many special touches, we particularly loved the BBQ and the fact that there was a large utensil set for BBQ cooking. The grounds were amazing, with bikes and rowing boats on the lake. Nothing was too much trouble and when my son texted Honor to ask if there was a football one was brought up to the cottage immediately. We cannot recommend the Wilderness Retreat enough and really hope to go back again very soon. It was total escapism from the every day grind back home and we all felt so...more
Wonderful location, views and accommodation. We struck lucky with the weather so enjoyed beautiful blue skies and sea. So peaceful we hardly left the place!
Everything was excellent. From booking it up with Suffolk Hideaways to the moment we left. Beautiful home and stunning location. Family had a great time. We brought our dog who also felt at home immediately and loved the sea front walks, the quaint village and the fish and chips. Definitely coming back again one day Thank you to Suffolk Hideaway and thank you to the owners of 7B Family Heller
Myrtle Cottage is a very well equipped cottage, in good condition throughout. Mobile phone reception can be problematic though!
The shepherds hut was an idyllic building. It had everything you needed and was perfectly laid out. It could have done with a few more useful items such as oven gloves and rubber gloves. The location wasn't quite as rural as I'd hoped. It is in a woodland with lovely views, but you can see the main house and occasionally hear cars from the road. However it was a delightful stay and lovely holiday.
The Granary provided a great base for our short break in Suffolk, being close to the coast and many places of interest. There are lots of pubs and restaurants within easy reach, but it has a well-equipped kitchen for self-catering. The generous welcome pack provided all the basics for the first night and morning. The location, in unspoilt countryside provided a relaxing retreat.
I booked both The Watch House and Listening Hut for a surprise family 50th birthday weekend. The accommodation was perfect for what we wanted. The sea views are amazing, ten minutes walk to the beach and fifteen to Southwold pier. Many of the party said it was the best weekend away they had ever had. I highly recommend this venue.
Nice location within Leiston, convenient for shops, Sizewell and other walks. The cottage itself was immaculately clean, very comfortable beds, and a lovely light, pleasantly decorated interior. We enjoyed our stay there immensely and would have no hesitation in booking it again for another stay.
A lovely cottage in a great location to explore the Suffolk coast. Middleton is a small peaceful village- perfect for a relaxing holiday. The owners were welcoming and helpful, and we enjoyed the bottle of wine on arrival!
The house is newly decorated and in excellent condition. It could not be better situated for the town, the beach and walks along the Alde.
This was a fantastic rental property for a large family celebration. It was comfortable and beautifully presented. We loved the outside shelter. Perfect location for the beach and amenities. We would highly recommend staying here!
The Lodge is a spacious, clean, warm and well equipped holiday cottage. We had a lovely few days and would have loved to have sat outside on the decking had it not been for the inclement weather. But it was still nice to watch the horses from inside. Stupidly left a hat behind which was not easy to post, but Mary kindly dealt with it, and was returned well packaged. Thank you.
Very friendly hosts and a beautiful place, but garden chairs could have been more comfortable, could do with some books and dvds. Kitchen could benefit from some ventilation, or at least a blind at the window, bins were directly in the sunlight, not ideal when hot,, front door could do with a mesh screen, as it was hot when we were there, but you could not have the door open as there were too many bugs/flies.. Need a freezer to store ice blocks/etc , hob was not great, not able to turn down heat on back hob. Could do wiith additional cutlery and crockery. Also circle sink/taps in kitchen no...more
With tide and light always changing, the beautiful position of River View made a perfect centre for exploring the area. Handy for both Snape and Aldeburgh and excellent access to the marsh for birding.
Peaceful, convenient location with lovely views across and over the river. The apartment had all we needed for our short break.
Lovely week, enjoyed the peace and quiet, and the space at this property; the dog loved the garden and we all enjoyed the area and the beaches, and good eating places nearby.
The property is beautiful in a peaceful location. We had some issues on the first night as it had turned cold and so the house felt cold until I worked out the heating controls with the help of the lady that looks after it. I blew the fuses night 1 trying to get an electric heater going. It's unfortunate it had just turned colder those days we were there. The key then didn't work for the back door very well and we all had to fiddle with this. needs replacing I think. The beds were comfortable though I had one of the singles in the room designed I guess for children, the mattress was uncomfort...more
This is a really nice holiday cottage which is well-equipped, comfortable and nicely decorated. It is a small three bedroom cottage and is therefore probably better suited to two adults and two children - it would be a real squash for six people! This cottage is on the outskirts of Aldeburgh (on Leiston Road) and it is on a busy road with some very noisy traffic and so if you want a really peaceful location then this cottage may disappoint (especially in the Summer when the windows are open and the road noise is more audible).
We were travelling from the USA to visit family and friends in the Constable Country area, and couldn’t have wished for a better venue. The location is idyllic and the facilities with pool, tennis courts and spacious entertaining areas made for a perfect holiday. We would highly recommend and would look to stay here in the future.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chantry Cottage . It was well equipped and very comfortable it is in a lovely spot, near the church , with lovely walks on Blyth estuary near by .
Super location, lovely little village with very friendly people in stunning countryside. The pull out kitchen worked well, the only thing is that we would normally get two bedrooms at this price, other than that we thoroughly enjoyed the stay and the owners were delightful.
We stayed at Court Barn over my wedding weekend and it really did make our wedding experience. The space is amazing and the owners are so friendly and couldn’t be more accommodating! We are hoping to come back next year for our anniversary with friends!
We had a magical stay in this stylishly converted barn. Both my boys were tickled by the upside down layout. Having the living space upstairs meant that we got all the evening light and lovely views. It was lovely having an open plan eating living space with good quality cooking utensils. The children loved the garden and visiting all the neighbourhood attractions like Framlingham Castle. Our only downside was the gourmet pub in walking distance were very nice but not a place for youngish children but great if you don't have children :-)
we've always loved Southwold but some of the holiday lets don't allow dogs and some are very over priced. We've stayed once before in a rental and also in the two hotels. These stays were good but compared to our stay at Bovis Cottage they just don't compare in any way. Bovis Cottage accepted one dog but we had two. But when I explained one was big the other small the owners said OK! So we arrived for a 10 day stay. We couldn't have been better pleased. The first 2 days our grown up sons, aged 20 and 23 were with us as well. So 4 adults and 2 dogs in the cottage at night! There was bags of roo...more
Lovely property with the most amazing views from the kitchen/diner/lounge. Tranquil and relaxing, away from it all - a very pleasant stay, and the agent was most helpful too.
This is a beautiful spot & very peaceful. Cottage was clean & tidy. Owner is friendly & nearby, if there are any problems.
Beautiful views and an interesting conversion of old farm buildings. The play room with table tennis was great especially for children but the advertised snooker was very poor and no useful cues. We were lucky to have no one staying in the adjoining properties as this liberated more play space. The greatest surprise was having an open plan lavatory and bath in the master bed room. This would have been so easily walled off during the conversion rather than just a wooden shelf as partial barrier. This also meant there was no wardrobe or cupboard for clothes in that bedroom. The lounge, kitchen a...more
