A comfortable and cosy cottage in lovely surroundings. Walks straight from the doorstep and in a great location for exploring South Suffolk.
The cottage is absolutely lovely. Everything you need. Fully enclosed beautiful garden for our dogs and amazing walks at Thornham Walks to get you moving. House has everything you need. Pub down the road is lovely and for the veggie/vegans the Walnut Tree pub is 5 minute drive down the road and is amazing! Highly recommend.
What a fantastic place. We booked to go for 4 days after getting married as a mini moon. Perfect place to relax, we walked for miles during the day. Then came back at pizza from the local pub and chilled in the hot tub. We will certainly be going back
Our stay here was wonderful. My favourite thing about Higham Place Lodge is the feel of the space, it is so welcoming, light and cosy. The lounge is very comfortable and spacious and there are lots of good book to browse. We brought our two retrievers and it was lovely to be able to open the lounge doors and know they had a large secure garden to explore. It was also so lovely to be able to walk them off-lead just beyond our garden around the 15acre estate. So many good dog walks around the area too which we will have to come back and explore more! I could not fault our hosts who gave us space...more
We had a wonderful New Years break with close friends at the Old Post Office. The property is beautiful & intimate. Our toddler had a fantastic time exploring the house and all it’s charm and we loved relaxing by the fire and cooking together. Hosts were very helpful and welcoming. Fully recommend.
Flint Cottage is situated in the delightful village of Wenhaston. it has more local amenities than many, including an interesting ancient church, nearby pub offering food. There is a local bus service connecting with Halesworth and Southwold. So, it is well placed for exploring the surrounding countryside whether on foot or by car or using public transport. This Victorian terraced cottage is typical of its type with a narrow winding staircase leading immediately to the first floor bedroom and an adjoining bathroom. It is small and cosy but well modernised with all amenities provided for an en...more
The Buttery was perfect for the short, away-from-it-all break I was looking for... and the views over fields and woods were wonderful. The cottage (one of three rental properties) is a great mix of clean modern design and rustic charm, and while it's set on a working farm, it's very quiet. I enjoyed my morning chats - tea in hand - with the cows in the paddock around the corner!
The Watch Room was everything we'd hoped it would be - positioned on a cliff top overlooking the North Sea and in great seclusion. We saw amazing sunrises and sunsets, geese flying in large formations overhead, paragliders (!) and other wildlife. At night the light from the Southwold lighthouse would sweep through the mist creating an incredibly cosy and atmospheric scene. Waking up a view of the sea every morning was very relaxing. Shops and amenities were either a 10 minute walk down to Southwold away or a drive of a few miles to any of the towns nearby. We absolutely loved it.
Fab cottage! Very comfortable beds and very well equipped! Especially good location and really enjoyed my stay.
If you are looking for somewhere out of the way and quiet then look no further. The house is very well maintained and has everything you might need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The nice little touches of flowers, milk and wine are much appreciated. The house is only a couple of minutes walk from the local pub which also serves excellent meals, however don't expect to get a drink Monday or Tuesday as it is closed and make sure you go early as once all the locals have finished their drinks the pub will close - we left a couple of nights with the owners just after 9pm. This all adds to t...more
The cottage has everything you could ever possibly need for a break away. It’s well equipped. Lovely touches with a food hamper and bathrobes. Plenty of space and the old quaint feel of the cottage is ideal for a relaxing away from it all break.
Our stay at Lodge Farm was a great success Recommend as a place to stay - we were a party of 12 adults There was so much room , all bedrooms lovely, kitchen well equipped to cope with cooking for 12 adults Close to local pub and Suffolk food hall
We normally spend July in the Algarve, but this year opted to stay in the UK and set our sights on Suffolk. We wanted wilderness and we got it at The Wilderness plus a few extras like tennis, a chef and a large screen TV absolutely essential for the World Cup. Not sure if our dog enjoyed it more than we did, but it definitely provided the tranquility, space and landscape we were looking for. The on-site team were welcoming and responsive and should be commended for providing a top notch service in an incredible setting.
Garden Cottage is beautiful, it has everything you could wish for to make your stay special. There were so many special touches, we particularly loved the BBQ and the fact that there was a large utensil set for BBQ cooking. The grounds were amazing, with bikes and rowing boats on the lake. Nothing was too much trouble and when my son texted Honor to ask if there was a football one was brought up to the cottage immediately. We cannot recommend the Wilderness Retreat enough and really hope to go back again very soon. It was total escapism from the every day grind back home and we all felt so...more
The location is perfect and the views amazing. We had early morning walks accessed via private land to a beautiful beach. Walking to Southwold was a plus and we loved the walk over to Walberswick. Plenty of great pubs and all except one dog friendly! Excellent stay - thank you!
Thank you Sarah. We gained the peace we needed in your little piece of heaven. What a wonderful place. The 1st night supper was amazing, you are a very good cook. The whole hut is beautiful. I will never forget my husbands face as we got out of the car and he pointed to the whispy smoke across the meadow in the orchard, coming from the log burner, you had kindly lit for our arrival. We will def return.
Whilst sitting on the porch of the shepherd's Hut with my coffee, I could easily envisage a couple more huts scattered throughout the cluster of trees we were in. It would be lovely to have a handful of friends join you especially as the rustic table and chairs cater for 4 but the hut offers space for 2, and the fire pit is a great idea, so a social getaway with a few friends would be enhanced if there were a few more huts It's quirky, well laid out and the porch is welcoming and social. The sounds of wildlife as well as farm life make you feel like you have escaped the city/town hustle an...more
Our two nights turned into one but we were very happy and very comfortable in The Granary. It's a lovely place to stay.
Myrtle is a lovely cottage in a beautiful place. The kitchen is a wonderful place to start the day, with a coffee, no matter what the weather is like. One of the best places I have stayed in the UK.
Nice location within Leiston, convenient for shops, Sizewell and other walks. The cottage itself was immaculately clean, very comfortable beds, and a lovely light, pleasantly decorated interior. We enjoyed our stay there immensely and would have no hesitation in booking it again for another stay.
I booked both The Watch House and Listening Hut for a surprise family 50th birthday weekend. The accommodation was perfect for what we wanted. The sea views are amazing, ten minutes walk to the beach and fifteen to Southwold pier. Many of the party said it was the best weekend away they had ever had. I highly recommend this venue.
The Lodge is a spacious, clean, warm and well equipped holiday cottage. We had a lovely few days and would have loved to have sat outside on the decking had it not been for the inclement weather. But it was still nice to watch the horses from inside. Stupidly left a hat behind which was not easy to post, but Mary kindly dealt with it, and was returned well packaged. Thank you.
Lovely home with everything you could need and more. There was nothing to find fault with and would love to stay again.
The only thing I would comment is that the twin bedded room is very small ..think it would work better as a single
This is a good apartment in a lovely setting just outside Aldeburgh. We enjoyed our walks from here and our time looking round the local villages. We were very comfortable despite very cold weather. No complaints.
Excellent location a few minutes' walk from the high street and beach. Comfortable, spacious and clean. A great base to enjoy Aldeburgh.
Lovely apartment with great views. Very clean, quiet, comfortable and stylish. Handy for the start of the 4 mile walk to Snape Maltings - only slight disappointment was that it was not realistic to walk into Aldeburgh along the busy main road. Otherwise it was very well located for exploring the coastal area.
This was our second stay at Marsh Lodge (River View last time on our own - this time we were in Marsh View and our friends were in River View). It is an excellent place to stay, both in terms of position and comfort.
We have stayed in Aldeburgh at this time of year many times. Sadly 7 Brudenell was disappointing. We arrived at 9pm assuming we would have some sort of welcome pack, we had apple juice and a packet of crisps. Milk for tea, wine to unwind? would have been nice. The house wasn't that clean, dusty in places, taps etc not as clean as they could have been. Also no kitchen roll in the kitchen. Our 'outside area' where we could enjoy the evening sun was approx 1m square - two of us would have to stand to enjoy the evening sun, had 7 of us been in the house it would be like a tin of sardines! We e...more
We stayed for a family wedding. Arrived late in evening to a wonderful welcome basket full of local treats. The house and beds were extremely comfortable. Very much appreciated the second large family fridge! We had a really lovely time there and would definitely return. Thank you, it was a lovely peaceful and delightful spot.
We have stayed in several holiday cottages, this was by far one of the best we have stayed in, just right for a couple who want to relax.
A fab little find, 30 seconds from main street. That said very quiet and peaceful. A cosy well equipped cottage that would suits all, small family or a couple of adults. Great places to eat and the beach is beautiful. We had my 18 month old grandaughter with us who had whale of a time, the owners were also very good and replaced a high chair at very short notice for us. Definately will be returning 10/10 from these happy holidayers!
Perfect cottage with all the mod-cons and large grounds for walkies. only a minor issue with previous customers dog poop in garden (6 poop bags ;) Would defo use cottage again.
We had a wonderful stay at Rose Barn this winter. It was warm and cosy, specially with the wood burner on! It is well equipped, clean and welcoming, and had everything we needed. Our hosts were helpful and communicative. Would definitely recommend! We would love to be back in the summer when the pool is open.
The Old Rectory has a very homely feel, which is not always found in holiday properties. Once we'd found it (!), the house has four very large bedrooms, 3 doubles and a twin with king size beds and a brilliant sunlight streaming through the large windows. (We had picked a good weather week). There are two bathrooms, one with a shower cubicle but the baths themselves are large enough for the occupant to stretch out. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with low beams - you'd probably need to duck if you were much over six feet tall- but well equipped with a double oven, electric hob, microwa...more
25 Park Road is an excellently located, quiet, cosy, clean and comfortable cottage with good facilities. There is stacks to do in Aldeburgh and the surrounding area and Aldeburgh is a very friendly town.
Excellent barn accommodation for a 3 night stay over my birthday, with tasteful furnishings and thoughtfully decorated. I loved it, my husband loved it and our bouncy black labrador was in his element. It was just the restful break we needed. If it is a rural location and peace and quiet you are after, then Snow Hall Barn fits the bill; however, it is within reach of a pub and Peasenhall village is down the road. We will definitely be returning.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chantry Cottage . It was well equipped and very comfortable it is in a lovely spot, near the church , with lovely walks on Blyth estuary near by .
We stayed here over Christmas with our 4 children and dog. We had a very enjoyable time. It is a beautiful property with a well equip kitchen. Towels and toiletries were all provided. The location is beautiful set in the suffolk countryside and approximately 30 minutes from Colchester which we visited a few times.
Super location, lovely little village with very friendly people in stunning countryside. The pull out kitchen worked well, the only thing is that we would normally get two bedrooms at this price, other than that we thoroughly enjoyed the stay and the owners were delightful.
Lovely clean and atmospheric cottage but very remote. Car essential. Suit friends looking for plenty of space for a long weekend away
A great house backing onto fields just a short walk from two pubs, shops and the ferry to Southwold.
Lovely property with the most amazing views from the kitchen/diner/lounge. Tranquil and relaxing, away from it all - a very pleasant stay, and the agent was most helpful too.
The Gildhall is well located in a quiet rural hamlet and the house was warm and comfortable for our party of three adults. It's a great base for exploring the area but be aware there are no shops or pubs in close walking distance. The Farm shop at nearby Dedham stocks a great range of items and the welcome hamper left on the kitchen table was much appreciated. The kitchen was beautifully warm with a roaring Aga and the central heating kept the sitting room, dining room and bedrooms cosy. This was important, as we were advised a few days before arrival that the open fires can no longer ...more
The owner of The Granary had been away for a couple of weeks and only returned halfway through our stay so no one had cared for the plants in pots which looked beyond redemption and we suspect that less care had been put into the preparation of the cottage. However the cottage is very comfortable and ideally situated for touring in the Woodbridge area.
This is a beautiful spot & very peaceful. Cottage was clean & tidy. Owner is friendly & nearby, if there are any problems.
Beautiful views and an interesting conversion of old farm buildings. The play room with table tennis was great especially for children but the advertised snooker was very poor and no useful cues. We were lucky to have no one staying in the adjoining properties as this liberated more play space. The greatest surprise was having an open plan lavatory and bath in the master bed room. This would have been so easily walled off during the conversion rather than just a wooden shelf as partial barrier. This also meant there was no wardrobe or cupboard for clothes in that bedroom. The lounge, kitchen a...more
