A fantastic property with everything we needed in a great location. The property was very clean, nicely decorated and there were lots of nice touches such as milk in the fridge, tea, coffee and biscuits. The owners and Gael holidays were very helpful, especially when we needed to stay another night because of the storms. I would highly recommend it.
Shore walk is a beautiful cottage with everything you need and more. The welcome box was very much appreciated. So cosy with the wood burning stove too. We walked up to the Balintore Inn and had a gorgeous meal on two nights and also visited the cafe for coffee and cake. It was a lovely restful few days for us with nice walks along the beach.
As a group of 3 friends looking to explore the NC500, this house was ideal! The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, and having 3 bathrooms was great. Everything was clean and well-kept, and the photos shown are up-to-date/accurate. There are local facilities nearby in Brora - a supermarket, pub/restaurant, bakery and beach are all 10-15 minutes walk away.
The old library provided everything we needed for a family holiday in the Highlands. The house was spotlessly clean, extremely well-equipped and comfortable for our group of 5 adults. Alison (the owner) couldn't have been more helpful with flexibility with check in/out times, info about the local area and a generous welcome pack. The house is perfectly located, minutes away from Brora beach, a CO-OP, a pub, and good selection of places to eat.
I booked this on behalf of 4 colleagues who were working in the local area. The guests confirmed that it was the best accommodation they have had since working away from home.
Having just returned from a 2 week holiday at white cottage I can honestly say that we thoroughly enjoyed our visit . The cottage is perfect in every way. It’s location is perfectly suited for touring . Absolutely brilliant
The cottage is so comfortable and welcoming and tucked away just yards from the bay. A great location for exploring the area and further afield
We had a lovely stay at Auld House. It was cosy, comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was perfect - quiet and secluded but easy for us to access local walks or visit nearby towns and villages. Lots to see and great walks locally.
We were a couple plus dog, staying four nights. This was a great place to base ourselves to visit the nearby villages of Bonar Bridge and Ardgay, and larger towns such as Dornoch and Ullapool. There were also lots of forest walking options very close to keep our dog happy. We liked the quiet setting with views over the Kyle of Sutherland. Inside the house everything was of a high standard, and had everything we needed. We appreciated Anne coming by to say hello and check everything was in order. Anne also gave us some interesting history of the cottage, and how it became 'Lorna's Cottage...more
Easy to find and a good location for local amenities and days out. Exceptionally clean, well fitted out with quality goods. Information file very useful and comprehensive detailed instructions. Really enjoyed our stay and hope to return again soon, would recommend a stay.
We stayed at Broomhill for a week in Brora. The house was bigger than we expected. We found everything that we needed in the kitchen which we used frequently. The location was just off the main road and walking distance to all the shops and distillery. The house itself was clean and comfortable. The beds were nice and comfortable and the house was warm. We received a great tip from one of your team about the distillery tour bring changed. We enjoyed it immensely.
I booked this last minute and was not disappointed. A great place and lovely hosts. I aim to return.
Bank House is a great location for a family holiday. Very spacious accommodation for us and our grown up children and of course our pooch. Very clean and ideally placed for pubs and restaurants. Will definitely return.
This is our second stay at this little gem of a place, nestled in the heart of the city. It's perfect for a couple to stay whilst exploring the area. It was so clean and tidy, very quiet and with a comfy bed. The owners were lovely and were on hand should you need them. They even supplied some groceries so we didn't need to rush out for milk as soon as we arrived. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, we will definitely be back.
We had magical time staying at Dornie Lodge, from the welcome pack (with wine ) to the stunning setting. The weather was kind so we were able to sit on the patio drinking in the location and wildlife. The lodge was well appointed, light and spacious and spotlessly clean. Within striking distance of so many places of interest. If you need a break from the stresses of modern life, this is the place to come. We will most certainly be back.
I stayed here with my daughter to walk a few Munros and enjoy the local area - it was a random find and very glad that I did. I'd have to say that it is the nicest holiday cottage I've ever stayed in. It has been completely renovated to a very high standard, and is very well presented throughout. It has absolutely everything needed, and feels more like staying in a friends house than a soulless rental. The setting of the cottage and the outside space have also been done very well. There's a lovely garden, outside seating and very handy parking. We also saw the owners, who were very p...more
Wonderful place to stay home from home everything you need is there will be back again sometime in the near future
Fantastic really comfortable bungalow in a great location. Brilliant stay and hospitality– thanks very much.
We had a wonderful stay in Dail Daraich, we are a family of 5 and there was ample room for us. It was exceptionally clean and tidy and all the instructions for appliances were available to us. Very friendly host and made sure we knew she was available during our stay. Would love to stay again.
Stayed for four weeks and found the caravan to be very comfortable. Great service from the owners, too. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again with Gael, and to stay at Pitgrudy.
Our hosts were excellent and were in touch in the lead up to our arrival which helped us out. We had a great introduction to the property upon arrival and our needs were catered for throughout.
Delighted with Lower Whinhill; it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Warm and cosy, well equipped kitchen and for the first time ever, a vacuum cleaner that works!
The property was clean and great value for money. Lovely location just outside of Aviemore. Service was also great by Gael staff.
Great location just a short walk from the city centre - noisy road but depends how sensitive you are
Very comfortable stay, ideal location and quiet rural setting. Well stocked kitchen. Handrail at front door would have been helpful for those less mobile but inside very good for those with mobility issues.
We had a wonderful week at Oran Mor, the house is a modern design but still very homely and has all the touches of being looked after by someone who cares that you have everything you need to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The location and views are perfect for a relaxing break from it all whatever the weather, the Skelbo woodland walk and the coastal walk down to the old Little Ferry crossing are on your door step, and Embo and Dornoch beaches are certainly worth a visit and only a short drive away. We know the area well and over the years have stayed in several holiday homes and th...more
Perfect stay. Nice location near the supermarket. Great apartment. We hope to return. Thank you very much
A long drive from Essex, we were welcomed by a bottle of wine, chocolates and some sweets for the children! The cottage was well equipped. The washing machine and dishwasher was definitely needed. Good size fridge/freezer. Beds were very comfortable and the area around was very quiet. Only 10 mins from Tain and local shops, it was a great location. Very close to two whiskey distilleries, with many more around. There is a beach in Dornoch which is only 20 minutes away. A great place to see Seals very close by too. The cottage was very clean and tidy. No complaints at all. Would...more
This property was ideal.for our stay. It has everything you need to enjoy Dornoch. It is central to everything including golf course and pub. The house is in pristine condition and has all modern amenities you require. Would not hesitate to rent again when staying in the area
Spotless flat. Fully equipped. Family downstairs pleasant and unobtrusive. Would heartily recommend- thanks
Excellent accomodation, centrally located in Dornoch Square. Only downside is stairs . All the necessary facilities for an enjoyable holiday in a beautiful part of Scotland.
3 of us plus the dog had a great stay here. Perfect size accommodation in a great location. Would definitely stay again.
Beautiful house, perfect location, walkable to everything you need. Highly recommend staying in this gorgeous house.
Really lovely stay here. Accommodation is lovely. Spacious and well equipped. Kitchen well appointed and loads of equipment of you fancy doing a lot of cooking. Gorgeous garden - plenty space for the kids to run about. Parasol was really needed this week as the sun was blazing. Really great to have this for shade - thank you. A very peaceful area, relaxing and gave us a much needed break. Wee minor point is we had to clean out the BBQ when we arrived. Was full of coals and hadn’t been cleaned but we did it and cleaned dour after ourselves too easy for the next folks. Lovely Stay and wo...more
We love this flat and its location. This is our 3rd stay at least. Gael Holiday staff always very helpful if contacted. Good to have instructions this year for washing machine/dryer although dryer is hopeless! Takes forever and clothes still very damp. Thank goodness for fold-out airer. One window beside dining table was needing a good clean but otherwise the flat was immaculate. We will be back!
Loved the place clean ,tidy ,handy for exploring Dornoch ,didn’t want to come home lovely shops and milk and honey cafe was fantastic
Amazing accommodation, extremely clean and tidy . The beds were very comfy, as well as the sofas , so we could totally relax after being out all day , under the abundance of blankets provided. Garden was lovely would love to return in the summer , not midge season !, . Great location for exploring in and around inverness. The welcome pack was great and much appreciated, also all of the extras i.e soap , dish tabs etc All in all we would love to return Thank you so much Donna
Ideal.I am adding this bit as for some bizarre reason it seems to be the case that a review cannot be less than 100 characters.Bollocks!
Lovely apartment, very comfortable, well equipped with everything we needed. Beautiful views and if the weather had been better we would certainly have taken advantage of the balcony more.
This lovely house far exceeded all our expectations....it was spotlessly clean and VERY well equipped and in a very quiet location but only a short drive in to Inverness...all in all...very hard to find any fault....and we had a lovely friendly neighbour !
We loved our second visit to 'On the Beach' and were blessed with kind weather (again) for the time of year! The property is beautifully presented, in a fantastic location and we hope to visit again next year.
An excellent location and very clean and tidy. Organisation through Gael holidays was excellent. Very helpful. Would definitely use again.
Rowan House is the perfect base for exploring in this area. Great location with one of the best beaches I've ever seen in the UK right on the doorstep. Dunrobbin Castle is just around the corner and the golf courses nearby are superb. The house itself is so comfortable with plenty of room both inside and out for 5 of us and 2 dogs. We had elderly grandparents with us and everything being on one level made it so easy for grandad who is 90, his favourite spot in the house was at the picture window watching the world go by. Just a couple of niggles - the twin bedroom was next door to what we ...more
Excellent location within a prime residential area. Apartment was kitted out with everything you needed. Only issue was with size of beds, would have benefited from having king sized beds as found double beds a bit small.
We had a great 17 day stay at this apartment. The view from the windows and balcony of the river and the bridges was spectacular. We even saw a coule of harbor seals in the river, as well as ducks and birds. We found the place to be very clean. The rooms, including the two bathrooms, are very spacious, with lots of closet and storage space. The lighting was excellent, very bright and cheerful even on cloudy days. The kitchen was fully equipped and suited our purposes when we wished to have breakfast, lunch or dinner in. We took several tours around the Highlands, enjoyed good meals at restau...more
What a view! And what a fantastic property. We loved every aspect of The View and had a relaxing few days in this beautiful part of Scotland. The property was immaculate and the owners have clearly thought of everything. We had some very gentle day trips out to Glenmore, Loch Morlich and Grantown. Plus some great food at Tomatin Pizza and the Auld Brig. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable stay in a beautiful apartment with extraordinary views.
We really enjoyed our stay at Meddat Farm Annex. It was immaculately clean, well furnished, lovely and cosy and lots of thought put in to making an enjoyable stay for the guests. Beautiful countryside surrounding the farm too made it an ideal stay
Apartment rented due to its proximity to the house we renovating in Banff, very comfortable, look forward to the return visit at Christmas.
The Bird's Eye View flat is a very comfortable accommodations for four people when staying in Dornoch. We loved our stay and the owners were very responsive to our needs and requests. There was great communication before and during the trip. We would definitely recommend this as a place to stay on a trip to Dornoch.
Lovely cabin clean and comfy with everything you could need. Lovely area lots to do and see would recommend
Would thoroughly recommend a holiday in such a beautiful cottage and location Many thanks to Gael Holiday Homes for their help and attention to detail in every way .
Spacious and comfortable accommodation, but lack of information for visitors (e.g. appliance instructions all hidden away in a back cupboard). Constantly dripping tap in kitchen, downstairs shower didn't work properly. Parking not as straightforward as in properrty description. Great location for a wondefrful stay in Brora.
Had a lovely stay here, very clean, well equipped kitchen, good location, lovely coastal walks on doorstep and lots of other beautiful beaches short drive away. Only the front garden for use (back door kept locked) so might be an issue for some dog owners, but it’s a very quiet street so wasn’t a problem.
A great base for touring the Black Isle. Cottage was comfortable and in a peaceful location. We were able to relax.
Overall stay was excellent. The welcome pack could have been better - we have visited other properties, and the welcome packs have been well out together, with some wee extras; shelves in the ensuite for toiletries is a must, no dishwasher tablets available. It's the small details that count.
Have enjoyed several stays at Bowlins in recent years. Always warm, comfortable and welcoming. Hard to beat.
A super cottage, very comfortable with a wonderful view. We had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend this cottage
Very well appointed property in a nice quiet location in Aviemore, immediately felt like a comfortable home for our week's stay.
We had a wonderful time at Nairn and the apartment was just what we needed. Plenty of space, everything we needed, cosy and spectacular views. It was within 20 minutes walking distance of town centre and was perfect for us.
When we arrived we were delighted with the location. In the town, yet secluded enough to feel that there were no other houses near. The house itself was tastefully decorated, warm and inviting. The rooms were a perfect size and the beds were really comfortable. It seems that EVERYTHING had been thought of - In the kitchen, there was a welcome card, a selection of basic essentials and everything necessary. We will certainly return and have been recommending Strathy to our friends.
Really enjoyed the location and unit. There could have been a little more clairty on accessing the lock box. But all turned out fine will most likely come back next year.
Stunning flat . Very clean and comfortable stay . Everything you could possibly need is there for your stay
The house was ideal for our vacation walking distance to the beach, golf courses and general shopping. First class and would recommend.
All very pleased with this property which was cosy and clean .would think we would visit again without fear.
The house is in a location we have visited many times, so it was easy to find. A good size holiday home with a fantastic sized garden, which we could have enjoyed better if the weather hadnt been so wet. The house itself was very tidy and comfortable. We could have done with a few more kitchen supplies ie a mixing bowl and maybe a few pint glasses if we had to nit pick. Could also do with some better instructions about the bin collection. The property has a ring door bell which made us feel like we were potentially being watched on every entry and exit. All in all we had a good week but consid...more
Accommodation was as advertised and no issues during stay, would recommend as a base if staying in Dornoch area
We wanted a relaxing week's break in a small place and having driven through Cromarty last year decided it would be a good place to do that. It was the perfect place. Seaview apartment was extremely cosy and comfortable and the owners had thought of everything you would need. Comfortable beds, excellent shower and very well equipped kitchen. We had a takeaway from Sutor Creek and had a meal at The Royal Hotel which was right next door, both were excellent. There is a very well stocked shop Cromarty Stores, (was amazed to find Vegan ice-cream and fresh pasta!) a Post Office, a bakery with...more
No more quaint bathroom. It has been beautifully replaced with a “shower room”, meaning the bathroom is tiled from top to bottom. Guest’s, six feet tall, can comfortably stand under a waterfall shower head. The other fixtures have also been replaced to a high standard and are easy to use.
Beautiful home, warm & welcoming, everything you need. Very comfortable bed. Lots of storage space to unpack. Excellent location. Been coming to Inverness yearly since 2016 & this is now our favourite accommodation. Will definitely stay again
This is our fourth time staying here and just love it ! Great location and cannot fault the property
Such a tranquil and quiet loch location. Completely private. The cabin was well-equipped with everything you might need. The bathroom seemed to have been updated relatively recently. The shower and the water pressure were really good. Close to the town of Brora which has pretty much everything you need, and a short drive to the stunning Loch Brora.
Very clean house and good location would recommend and will definitely stay again, nice fully enclosed garden with good features. The only minor issue is the mattress not that comfortable but it’s only a week so not a huge issue. Would highly recommend for families
This bungalow was one of the best self-catering places we've ever stayed in. Well equipped kitchen, very clean, extremely spacious, comfortable beds, plenty of board games and even a garage with table tennis. Beautiful walks from the door and an excellent base for touring, e.g. Cromarty, Gairloch, Glen Affric, Gruinard Bay etc. Couple of tiny negatives - one of the sofas is too deep/soft and the cleaners walked in at precisely 10am asking when we'd be gone (the house was free at 10.10). Overall a great place to know about, we hope to return.
This was a nice place to chill out. We loved it. It was so clean and welcoming. Loved that it had so many features/pictures on the wall making it seem like home
We have stayed here a few times and each time we enjoy our time in this apartment. Siting room very comfortable and bed very comfy No complaints Would definitely recommend Mervyn and Daphne
Small ,but excellent accommodation ,with everything provided.Highlight was sea view from sitting room.
Great apartment the view was amazing had everything we needed...definitely book again..location was great...
Amazing location and suites is perfectly. Great apartment, easy entry key lock and everything we needed for fantastic family holiday
Sonas House is a very well equipped and comfortable home from home. It's a 10 minute drive from central Inverness and also very convenient for day trips to the Black Isle and the west coast. The views from the house are wonderful and the only sounds you hear are the birds by the shore and sometimes the wind playing a tune on the roof. There are lots of interesting books, board games and DVDs, and any number of useful leaflets and maps for planning walks and day trips. We had a lovely time and have already booked our next stay.
Excellent accomodation perfect for a weekend break apartment absolutely spotless will definitely be using again
Thoroughly enjoyed staying at Mont Blanc and wouldn’t hesitate to book here again. The bed I slept in could have been a little more comfortable (but I am fussy about this) and there could have been some paint touch ups here and there (though nothing drastic) from walls perhaps being knocked. However this did not detract from the holiday and look forward to staying in one of Gael’s Holiday Homes again in the future!
Clean, with comfortable beds. But minimally equipped, and inadequate heating system. It uses a heat pump, which is very noisy and only seemed to come on at night, so there was no heat during the day (not too much of a problem for us, but on colder days, it would have been). The water only ever got warm, not hot enough for a nice hot bath.
We have just had a great, relaxing break at this property. The house is comfortable & has everything we plus some small extras. The location is excellent, just a short walk from Aviemore Center. If you have a dog there are some lovely walks through the woods. Looking forward to booking again.
This is a very nice ground floor flat on the edge of the village. We have stayed here many times, it ticks all the boxes - it’s clean, it’s bright, it’s quiet, it’s well equipped and the beds are super comfy.
The Apartment is in very good conditions, good kitchen supplies. Only the starewell could use a more regulare cleaning. Very friendly customer Assistenten.
Comfort is -1 as mattresses little hard for me. Condition is -1 as1 blind needs work, some lamps out, 1 Toilet Roll Holder missing. Note:- All the bulbs are low energy type (which is good), But they are a little noisy and LED bulbs use less power and most are more attractive. The villa is in very good condition and even my comments above did not detract from our enjoyment. Note 2:- This is our 4th stay at this villa.
This was our 3rd stay in this cottage. It is such a nice comfortable place to stay with everything you need. Would definitely recommend this cottage and Cromarty is a great place to stay.
Used this apartment a few times now, By the bridge are perfect apartments for a stay in Inverness, Private parking and central to all restaurants, Bars and shops. Would highly recommend.
Always impressed by these flats. Could do with loo roll holder in main bathroom. Stayed here 5 years ago and not been added. Lacks cooking trays and pizza dish. Flats are always clean and well presented. Would always 109% recommend them to anyone.
Nice location but property is getting tired, not worth the price paid, Some plates had chips and shown they were well used, the pans were well worn, ended up going and buying our own for the time we were there, The floors are very noisy when walking on, For price paid we would expect a higher quality,
Spent a couple of nights in Inverness after walking the West Highland Way. Very nice and clean apartment with a great location that made exploring the area easy. Very convenient to bus and train station and also entertainment and dining.
Beautifully situated property perched on the edge of the Atlantic. Wonderful picture window looking out to Skye. Absolutely everything you needed to self-cater was provided (the knives were even sharp!). Superb Wi-Fi connection to work remotely. Really enjoyed my time and solitude at Otterburn.
Over the last 6 years we have stayed in various accommodation with the Aviemore area at New Year. On arrival we received an excellent welcome basket, also liked the fact we also got a well stocked starter cleaning box too. Loved having the Christmas tree making it still very festive. Gael Charm has by far been the best. We loved absolutely everything about it. It was clean, spacious overall just so comfortable. Gael Charm because we know the area was the perfect location. We were able to walk into town, dog walk locally on all the fabulous, well lit paths and drive to all our favour...more
The appartment was clean, appliances ready and easy to use. It's not spacious but it was no issue for us as we spent all days out. We would suggest adding more dishes to the kitchen, especially plates and cups. Also there only were 4 dishwasher tablets for our 2 week stay, which was resolved later by the housekeeper. The location is great if you plan bus or train trips. No noise from roads, nice view to the river. Recommended!
Stayed here for 5 nights as a group of 6. 3 adults amd 3 kids. Master room comfortable for 2 adults. The remaining 2 rooms are small with a 4 ft 6 bed. Ideal for kids and teenagers but a squeeze if couples sharing these rooms. Ideal for one adult the smaller rooms. Great TV that allows you into your netflix or prime video accounts. Plenty of TV stations. Tesco's just around the corner. There is a super quick short cut beside the Kitchen Brassier restaurant to access Tescos. Couldn't be closer. Hairdressers down stairs called Ego which will do hair makeup for £48 if in Inverness for an ...more
The flat was comfortable and cosy. Just a few points - a few notes about operation of heating, bin types etc - a few basic utensils: wooden spoon, place mats for table, chopping board (non wood), ice cube tray was useless - lighting of kitchen area useless, Down lights under cabinets would be perfect! Tap top washer needs repaired - high pressure causes water all over kitchen! Seats in lounge were ok, but small and low, hence not comfortable for taller folk.
Great location and as we arrived late the light was left on and the door open, thank goodness, it was extremely dark and the skies were amazing. Good base to see Wester Ross, the house had all that we needed, however, could have been so much better.
While all very acceptable we felt the lodge was commercial and lacked personality Little touches perhaps by a female hand and more thought about the users comfort could improve the experience A welcome pack could improve arrival as would details like salt and pepper etc Overall a good value property
The house was beautiful, in a stunning location, it was a 15-20 minute drive away from local amenities. The upstairs rooms were very nice, the downstairs rooms were comfortable but quite snug for 2 to a room. The owner was friendly and accommodating. I have never experienced midges before… definitely got to meet some on this trip.. and a few ticks too, didn’t realise the highlands are notorious for these creatures! Overall, a wonderful experience and lovely house, with plenty of entertainment for the kids too!
Ideal location for visiting the Inverness area. The property was clean and tidy although as a self catering unit would expect some tins to cook in the oven. Also the wooden floor in the lounge is very cold, a rug (as in your pictures) would have been nice.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Armadale House in Portmahamock. ............................................................................................................
This is our 2nd visit to Blackrock and its not gonna be the last. From pre arrival contact with owner to after we left, everything was great! The owner is lovely and the wee welcome pack is much appreciated after a long drive north. The beds are surprisingly comfortable for a holiday let. The most comfortable beds we've had at any holiday let over the last 4 years. The sofas again very comfortable and plenty space for everyone staying to get a comfy seat. The walk through the woods at the back of the garden is so nice. My 4 year old can't wait to explore more of the woods next time....more
Booking and self check-in easy with no issues. Property is located in a quiet residential area with retail parks a short distance away. Kitchen equipped as described on website. Overall good value for money and would book again.
Arriving late on Saturday afternoon, the clear and concise entry instructions helped with a speedy settling to start enjoying Inverness straight away. The dedicated parking space was a real boon. 7B Gordonville Apartments was perfectly placed to enable us to explore Inverness and the west of Scotland. Very comfy beds, well thought out lounge and excellent kitchen made our stay for the week a real pleasure. The tape of 'Dancers Delight' by the 'Garioch Blend' was perfect for washing up and making meals in the kitchen. If we were to visit Inverness again, we would definitely choose 7B Gordonv...more
An interesting property architecturally and in a beautiful location - very atmospheric. The owner, Justin, was extremely helpful in response to questions and suggested local points of interest. Ideal as a comfy base from which to explore the many walking routes in the area. We enjoyed it there so much that we are planning a return visit next year.
Lovely location & lovely house. Village has everything shop, excellent hairdresser & pub. If the house sleeps 5 then there should be enough for 5. Kitchen equipment insufficient & plateware nothing matched. Housekeeping questionable previous guests food and other belongings left.
