This was a bitter-sweet stay for us. We would have bought this property a few years ago if possible but wasn't to be at the time and a recent diagnosis meant this really was a wee break with mixed emotions, a holiday under docs orders. So it was really important everything be perfect, no bother and it absolutely was. We've stayed in the resorts at Kenmore and Feldy and stayed a few times in Camserney but this, our 9th visit to Feldy, I would have to say was my favorite. The property was amply spacious for all 7 of us, full of character and charm with gorgeous original features blended with ...more
We have stayed in many self catering houses and can honestly say The Stables is the best equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Suzanne greeted us with the warmest welcome which was well received. She is a very generous host providing us with extras and her house was well stocked, which we greatly appreciated. Our stay was very relaxing due to the quietness and comfort within and around the setting of the house. We really enjoyed watching the variety of birds and wildlife from the living room, spotting red squirrels and even a red kite! It was lovely watching the sheep, horses and hen...more
Lovely cottage in a fantastic location with red squirrels, hedgehogs & lots of bird life. Just 20 minute walk into Aberfeldy across the golf course with plenty of choices to eat. Massive thanks to Owners Carol & Robert for their kind hospitality.
We chose the property so we could walk to the local village and use the train instead of the car everyday. We were delighted to discover multiple walks direct from the cottage, all well marked and easy to follow, especially recommended is the one to Loch of the Lowes. We used the train for some trips out but did need the car to get further afield. The house itself was great for a family break, enough space to spread out and very well equipped to cook meals with ample cutlery, crockery and decent sized dishes and pans, cooking on the aga was easy to learn and we appreciated the books giving hel...more
What a fantastic location along with great weather you would find the location hard to beat home or abroad. Good size house for a family (4) or just a couple. The location is ideal for a base from which to explore Perthshire and also further afield. Regarding the house a few small things would be a benefit to the property, like maybe a bit of painting (touch up) would help and one other major issue could do with addressing and that is the provision of a full length mirror in one of the rooms. This would go a long way to keeping some people happy. Overall though these are cosmetic and do n...more
We enjoyed our stay in Tatha View in May 2022. The house is very nice and comfortable and everything you need is there. The weather was mixed during our stay but regardless we had a lovely view of Loch Tay to enjoy. Both the lounge and the nook have stunning views. Our dogs enjoyed the house too and there is a partially enclosed garden where they could be off lead. Gates at the top of the stairs on the decking would be a brilliant addition for both dogs and children to keep the area totally enclosed. The gardens are well kept in a natural way. You can walk down the garden to the gate at the ro...more
We had a fabulous stay in the Longhouse, Aberfeldy. The house was beautiful, very easy to live in , comfy beds, great kitchen, beautiful views and light. Great location, bagged a Munro at Ben Lawers, walked the dogs everywhere, Aberfeldy is lovely with independent shops galore. House of Bruar a treasure trove.
A lovely home in a beautiful location, with stunning views of the loch. Very well equipped and furnished to a high standard. Only recommendation is to consider replacing the small double bed with a full size, as it is not really big enough for two adults to sleep comfortably.
As we drove up the track to Beinn na Ciste we saw a duck on the pond, a pheasant on the road and a hare in the garden! If you like to see wildlife at your door this holiday house will be perfect for you. We had lots of wildlife visiting to keep us entertained every day. We were very happy to be greeted with a fresh and clean smell as we stepped into the house. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The house is tastefully decorated and the furniture is all lovely quality. There were eight of us, aged between 5 and 62. This house is so spacious so we did not feel crowded at all during our stay. We...more
The house was beautiful. Really lovely upstairs living area with spectacular views. Very high elevation and really peaceful. Great indoor spaces. We loved our stay. The road up and down from it was a bit crazy, though. Single track with some really steep inclines and sharp angles. Almost no passing places at all (there might actually have been none on the road itself). I'm not a nervous driver in the slightest (and have driven round many of the Scottish Islands with their dodgy roads) but I was still very nervous that we'd meet another vehicle every time we drove up and down. We'd often ha...more
A very relaxing week at lovely River Cottage. Very peaceful setting and great location for walks in the surrounding area and eating out. The one thing that we would recommend are more comfortable outdoor chairs. It was a picnic table different to what is in the photo in the description of the cottage.
The garden is beautiful and the reading hut is a great bonus. Suggestions for the cottage itself:- 1. Upgrade the bathroom. At the moment the mismatched shower curtains stick to you every time you move and also soak the floor. 2. We were very cold a lot of the time but didn’t want to put the heating on because the ‘Welcome’ note said that we had to pay for heating at the end of our stay. I’ve since discovered this isn’t accurate. 3. The dishes and cutlery need to go through the dishwasher as a lot of them were just sticky and grubby. Also we bought our own dishes brush as the ones provid...more
