We snooker to stay at Rose cottage between the 17th and 22nd November. We arrived around 5pm on a very cold and wet evening even so Rachel was there to show us around. The cottage is lovely and very comfortable and very cosy. It was lovely to return to the cottage after a full day sightseeing. In short great place to stay with great hosts

The most wonderful cosy cottage, in an idyllic location. Perfect for the dogs & the perfect summer, autumn & winter get away. The hosts were so friendly & helpful, and the cottage is perfectly located to for things to do in the surrounding area. To top it off an evening in the hot tub was the perfect way to end the evening.
I will most certainly return as it was lovely on all accounts.

Even before we got there we were made to feel welcomed. Was a little rural to find and get to, but Rachel was so kind guiding us and waiting to greet us.
We chose the accommodation for 2 (granary store) - compact, and intimate, but perfect. Warm, clean, beautifully presented. Great secure garden area for our little dogs. Fabulous surroundings!
Comfy bed - slept really well, wonderful log burner, and a decent TV.
The hot tub hidden overlooking the woodlands was the icing on the cake. It was very clean and well maintained. Loved it!
We will undoubtedly be back. Thank you Rachel & Jason (& any team)

We had a lovely 10 day stay in Blaenfforest Cottage. It is compact but well equipped and the hot tub located close by is an added bonus. The garden was secure for our two dogs and we were able to walk them through the woodland next to the cottage. The area is very quiet and rural but within easy reach of some lovely beaches and places to eat out. Rachel and Jason were warm and welcoming. We would definitely book again if we return to the area.

My wife and I had a lovely stay in this cosy cottage for 2 for the 2nd time which says a lot .Hot tub is a great touch and if your into your fitness then you have free access to a well equipped gym .The courtyard and gardens are so beautiful with lovely flowers and there is also a woodland walk that is just lovey ....All in all its a fantastic peaceful place to wind down and chill .Ideal location to explore the surrounding countryside and close enough to the coast to explore the beautiful beaches of west Wales .

Have just spent five days in our own country cottage with all amenities (kitchen, shower, Wi Fi, smart TV, hot tub, gym ) in a secluded eco friendly environment run by Rachel and Jason who were our perfect hosts. Their friendly furry rescued companions (five dogs, Bonnie and Bunty pigs and others) were a joy and added to the whole 'country' experience in a plant based atmosphere. They have put in a lot of work creating this haven and continue to do so. Considering the price charged this stay was incredible value - don't know how they manage it with all the facilities provided. Will definitely go again with our two dogs for company (as this time) and am recommending a stay to all our like minded friends! A++++

The perfect weekend getaway for us. Very cosy cottage, had everything we needed for our weekend. We enjoyed cycling around Cardigan, Mwnt and Gwbert and there's a great Parkrun at the local wildlife reserve on a Saturday morning.

Wonderful customer service and hospitality from Rachel. The cottage was stunning and felt homely and peaceful immediately. It was well supplied with everything you needed. The hot tub was clean and very private. The whole experience was calming and just what the doctor ordered for a relaxing weekend away. We will be returning. Even my dog was relaxed and loving the woodland walks.

The cottage was kept to a very high standard and overall was very cosy and ideal to relax in. We had our dog with us and having the woodland walk just outside the door was ideal, which she absolutely loved! The hot tub was also an added bonus.
The only drawback for us, was that we headed to the beach most days because of the dog, which involved about a 30 minute or so drive. If you want to get away from everything and enjoy the peace and quiet in the countryside then it was ideal.
Thankyou both for a lovely stay.

After a great solo visit in April 2022, it was lovely to come back, but this time with a lovely lady.

Rachel is a great host and ensures everything is right for you.

We loved staying at Blaenfforrest cottage it was clean and tastefully furnished with a lovely log burner which I'm sure would have been perfect on those colder nights. The facilities were fantastic with a lovely private hot tub which is covered so you can use it all year round and you have the added bonus of a gym which was brilliant and I used it a couple of times to burn off the holiday grub .The location was perfect for us quiet and tranquil surrounded by woodland and beautiful cottage garden flowers .All in all we had a lovely relaxing time at this beautiful little cottage in a perfect location .

We have just enjoyed a lovely relaxing holiday at Rose Cottage. The cottage itself was very well equipped and to a high standard. The welcome from Rachel was warm and informative.. This gorgeous cottage, in a stunning setting, is perfect for a quiet and romantic getaway.
Set in private grounds with a lovely walk out the back for the dog, you can't go wrong.
The very clean, stunning little traditional cottage has everything you'll need and more.
The kitchen is very well equipt, the shower is lovely, and the bed is comfortable.
We loved having our own hot tub area and used this daily.
The birds would come and feed in our own little courtyard every day, I loved watching them from the window.
There is plenty to do in the local area, Rachel and Jason have left lots of leaflets and info inside the cottage in case you haven't done your own research into local beauty spots first.
The communication from Rachel was absolutely perfect, and she's lovely and chatty in person too. While also giving you plenty of your own space.
I cannot fault this place whatsoever.
A perfect first getaway as a new couple. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED *****

After the bumby ride down the track (you are informed lol), you are greeted by a wonderful set of cottages around a central courtyard.
A warm welcome from Rachel and a lovely touch of a welcome note indoors.
The Cottage had everything you'd need, including lovely wool throws if needed.
Obviously the log fire and hot-tub are great additions.
A great place to relax and unwind as well as exploring the area and coastline.

Absolutely beautiful cottage with stunning surroundings.
Rachel and James who run the place are a pleasure to deal with and on hand if any situation should arise.
The hot tubs provided with you're stay are a bonus and very well maintained along with being super relaxing after that amble in the country side.
Being a dog friendly establishment was also a bonus with the dogs being the number 1 guests, My 2 pups really enjoyed exploring and getting to chill by a lovely warm log fire.
Definitely a place to reccomend and would definitely advise visiting if you get the chance.

Pre Covid we stayed at the cottages annually in October. It was great to be able to return this year. We love the isolation of the property and the forest walk but its close enough to other places to go out and about and enjoy the local area.
We used the hot tub every day after a day out exploring, it was a great way to end the day. The cottage is kept up beautifully and was nice and warm and snug of an evening.
Our only complaint if you can call it that was the bed, it was too soft for us but that is personal preference.

Had a lovely week staying at Blaenfforest cottage. We stayed in the one bedroom Rose cottage which was cosy and snug. Enjoyed watching the bird’s on the feeders every morning whilst we had our breakfast.
The hot tub was nice and made a lovely wind down at the end of each day.
Although we have family living close by we enjoyed being able to break away when we wanted to and Rachael even gave our granddaughters a lovely visit to see the rescued ducks & hedgehogs along with her other pets. Would throughly recommend this place to anyone who wants a bit of peace and tranquillity in rural Wales.

We had a two night stay coming out of a national lockdown and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The cottage was clean and so welcoming! The hottub was amazing, and the woodland views from the hottub just made it even more perfect! The weather wasn’t up to much but it didn’t matter because the cottage was as a home away from home and had everything you needed just to relax! Rachel was amazing leading up to our break and was so welcoming when we got there! We can’t wait to come back and stay with you again!

This was our third visit to Blaenfforest, first time in the cottage. It is a lot smaller than the Granary, which we expected, but just as cosy and well equipped. We had a lovely weekend with our 2 dogs, who absolutely love the woodland walk. I loved watching the many species of birds that visited the bird feeder. The hot tub and log burner certainly kept us toastie warm. Looking forward to booking a break there again sometime next summer

We stayed for 4 nights in September 2020. From the moment we arrived we knew we had chosen somewhere special!
Rachel our host greeted us on arrival and considering we live in strange times could not have made us feel more comfortable and welcome which is a feat in itself at the moment.
The cottage itself is perfect and so comfortable. There is a walk down to the river from the cottage gate and the animals that live on site are so friendly and great to wake up to.
The hot tub is literally the jewel in the crown and finishes off an idyllic setting for rest and relaxation.
I could not recommend this cottage enough and will definitely be back sooner rather than later.
Thank you again to Rachel and her partner, what you have achieved in such a short time is incredible!

A beautifully maintained cosy retreat with welcoming, helpful hosts. A great base for exploring the surrounding area, with a roomy hot tub to wind up the day, makes this place somewhere to return to.

We had a fantastic trip with our two dogs. The cottage is beautiful, cozy and very well equipped. Rachel and Jason were extremely friendly and helpful. There was a wealth of information about the local area, particularly useful because it focused on helping you to find places that were dog friendly, something that is not always easy to find. The location was stunning and it was so quiet, really giving you the chance to relax. A bonus was having the use of the private hot tub. The cottage is located close to several different beaches and beautiful small towns. A great getaway!

Blaenfforest was a beautiful escape and the perfect place to recharge the batteries. The cottage was so cozy and exactly what we needed, the hot tub being an added bonus! The welcome hamper was really thoughtful and went down a treat. Rachel was a great host not intrusive but always on hand if you had any questions. It’s the perfect place to get away from it all.

A well equipped cottage in an idyllic location, absolutely perfect for a “Get away from it all” break.
Located in stunning countryside with plenty of ‘blue flag’ beaches all within 25/30 mins drive. Blaenfforest Cottage was perfect for us and our dog Murphy and we have no hesitation in recommending it to anybody looking for a tranquil calm setting.
Rachel and Jason are friendly, helpful and unintrusive. We certainly hope to return there again.

Its been a few years since staying at this delightful place, it did not disappoint. It is a beautiful location, away from it all and stress free. Rachel and Jason are so welcoming and the cottage is just perfect. The hot tub was perfect for the end of a busy day to relax and just unwind.
We had forgotten how much we loved it here, but will now be returning to hopefully stay in the new Avery.

We stayed in Blaenfforest Cottage for two weeks in October, and it was delightful. It is small, but perfectly formed! The colour scheme is tranquil, the effect rustic but stylish, and the bed supremely comfortable. The kitchen has all the equipment you would need, in excellent condition, with a very up-to-date coffee machine and microwave as well as the basics of cooker and fridge freezer. The welcome basket provided by Rachel contained wonderful local cheese and the best eggs I have ever tasted in my life, as well as other delicacies, and was a lovely touch. Rachel and Jason are the ideal hosts - friendly, knowledgeable, available when necessary and never intrusive. Their dogs are a joy, beautiful to see and so sweet natured, and it was lovely to see the ducks running around.
Although Blaenfforest Cottage is situated deep in glorious countryside, it is only about five minutes' drive from Newcastle Emlyn.
Newcastle Emlyn and the surrounding district are very dog friendly, with lots of welcoming pubs and restaurants, serving excellent quality food. The town itself is well served with shops and other facilities, and I liked it very much. The cottage backs onto lovely woodland which is wonderful for dog walking, and if you like peace and quiet, you will certainly find it here. No traffic noise, no street lights, just the sound of the birds and the wind in the trees. Wonderful!

Wow, lovely cottage, the setting is perfect if you are looking for a restful break in a tranquil location.
The gardens are beautiful with places to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of the countryside.
Relaxing in the hot tub was a perfect way to end the day.
The only warning I could say is that the long track from the road to the cottage would not be suitable if you drive a low car (sports car / car with body skirt etc).

It would have been nice if we met Rachel during our stay but we had text messages regarding the keys and a folder with places to visit. There doesn't seem to be local walks signed in the area, Newcastle Emlyn was a lovely place up the road, other places were at least an hour's drive. This is a lovely cottage to stay for a peaceful break, the nights are dark and silent as we found coming back from the hot tub as the light outside wasn't working, our torch broke which we took (there were torches in the cottage) the bed was comfortable, the cottage had everything you needed, including a well fitted kitchen, even a slow cooker. The cottage did smell of dog which I should have expected knowing it is a dog friendly property. The hot tub inside the summer house is a great idea, a lovely touch with the towels and bath mat to use here. We saw the pigs, cows, ducks and chickens but couldn't find the peacocks which we were looking forward to seeing.

I can’t praise this place enough. Myself and my fiancé stayed for a much needed weekend of peace and quiet. Blaenfforest Cottage ticked all of the boxes. The location is fairly remote, which makes it perfect, but within a few minutes drive of the local town which is home to some lovely little shops and pubs. The beautiful west wales coastline is nearby too with great dolphin spotting trips at Newquay. Rachel was a fabulous, friendly hostess and very welcoming. The animals were a great added bonus - dogs, pigs, chickens and ducks - lovely to see them around the yard. Wild birds were also in abundance and the night sky was amazing. And of course not forgetting the hot tub - a fabulous way to end the day - very nice whatever the weather. We will definitely be visiting again.

We didn't want to leave! From the minute we arrived, we felt spoilt. The cottage was warm and inviting, a basket of goodies waiting for us, such a lovely touch. Rachel showed us round, and is always on hand if you need anything, she showed us where to walk our dog down to the stream. The animals were friendly too! The hot tub at the end of the day was just so relaxing. A very peaceful retreat that we will be returning to with our family one day. The whole experience was Awesome!

We had the most incredible time at Blaenfforest Cottage, the owners were so lovely from very first contact and gave us all the information we needed for a truly wonderful stay. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise and the handwritten note was really a lovely touch. The cottage itself was so cosy and had everything we needed and more, Rachel had explained there was a little walk to the hot tub but it was not as far as we were expected and the hot tub is well worth it! So clean! Sitting in the middle of the trees in the hot tub with a glass of fizz was a perfect way to end our days of exploring.
Both of our Dogs had a great time exploring the grounds, this is the first place we have stayed that has actually been dog friendly! Most places we have had to keep the dogs on the lead and have been restricted with rooms they are allowed to be in (one place they were only allowed in the kitchen!!) but this place is completely dog friendly and they were so relaxed the whole weekend!
The pet pigs were loads of fun, make sure you take some apples to feed them and they will keep you entertained! The chickens wandering round the grounds was lovely to see and the lady trying to get the ducks in one evening was quite comical.
We cannot wait to come back, this really is the most perfect place to get away from it all.

We booked this short break just to get away for abit with the dog. The cottage was lovely and toasty warm. It had everything we needed for a few days away. The main attraction for us was the hot tub. It was so relaxing watching the sun set on the tree tops. The only down side was having to walk round to the hot tub, it wasn’t far away, but it was freezing after you got out the hot tub going back to the cottage. The other cottage on the grounds had it right outside the door which is better. We felt very welcome and Rachel made sure we had everything we needed. We will defiantly return one day and would highly recommend for value for money as they could easy charge more!

We had booked a 3 night stay at short notice and we were not disappointed with our choice. The cottage was quaint, homely and fully functional. It was clean and tidy with a lovely welcome basket on arrival. The weather was not the best but our first night was comfortable and warm with the sound of the rain outside the window. Due to unforseen circumstances beyond anyones control, the next day we needed to move into the Granary. That too was a treat. Underfloor heating, log burner and a skylight in the bedroom where we could see a blanket of stars. Amazing.
Both properties had private hottubs. An array of animals to see and many small birds that were a joy to watch.
The owners were extreemly welcoming and attentive, plesant and helpful.
The cottage has a rural setting but is still central enough for easy access to all points of interest.
All in all a fantastic stay and we are very keen to return.

This place was everything it said it was, a lovely place in the middle of nowhere. There are plenty of options for people of various physical abilities, with short walks just outside your door. The cottage itself had everything you might need to cook yourself something exciting or relax in privacy, without being so remote that you feel you're on your own. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly, and keen to meet whatever particular needs you might have. I'd happily come back again!

We spent a lovely few days at this cottage, relaxing in the peaceful surroundings of the Welsh countryside with the added bonus of our own private hot tub- fantastic! The owner Rachel was most welcoming and the welcome gifts left for us were a lovely touch. The accommodation was very well equipped, and we were left wanting for nothing, the bed was very comfy! Thank you also for being dog-friendly, our pooches had a lovely time away, especially meeting the ducks and micro pigs. We’d recommend this place to all as it’s well positioned to explore the delights of West Wales, either by car or by foot.
We will definitely be returning!!

Had a wonderful stay at this cottage during a lovely hot and sunny July. We loved the peace and tranquility of the setting and especially enjoyed the proximity of the birds and wildlife. This is a beautiful and peaceful part of Wales off the beaten track. The cottage is compact but comfortable and cosy with everything you need. The hot tub is positively luxurious looking out over the trees. The lily pond could be out of a painting with a variety of water lilies and dragon flies and bees buzzing about - a totally peaceful spot to sit and contemplate. For those who can't get away from it all wifi is available. The bird feeder attracts plenty of birds including a lesser spotted woodpecker and nuthatch, so we didn't miss our birds back home! The peacocks were a novelty and delight and soon learned that I fed them peanuts and became friends. The friendly pair of black cats, Billybob, and their white companion made us welcome. There is a path through the woods and fortunately we had brough wellies, as the weather wasn't quite as friendly. If you want a relaxing retreat, this is the place to go with a warm welcome from all.

Lovely cosy cottage, great hot tub
A bit far from any pubs etc if you want to walk, but good base to explore west Wales. Track from road to cottage needs a bit of work if you drive a low riding car could be an issue.

We loved our 3 nights in the cottage which is based in a peaceful location with its own private hot tub. The woodland walk was a perfect way to start the day followed by a trip to see the 2 resident donkeys. We visited Aberporth and Cardigan beaches on our first day and then travelled a little further afield and cycled along the coastal path at the Millennium Park. Our hosts were very welcoming and we really appreciated the milk, chocolates and waffles that were provided for us when we checked in - and were then given a handful of beautiful ostrich feathers when we checked out. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Thank you so much!

We had a very relaxing stay in the cottage. The location is so quiet and tranquil even when the Peacocks get going! The cottage had everything we needed and was spotless. The hot tub was to die for and the location is idyllic. Our hosts were super friendly and we would recommend this property to couples.

Thank you very much for your review. I'm really sorry that some aspects of your stay were disappointing but, as always, we welcome the feedback and will certainly look into sweeping the pathways more regularly. However, I'm pleased you enjoyed the Hot Tub.
We've always had very positive comments about the comfort of the bed in the Cottage, so I will definitely be investigating any issues that may have occurred prior to your visit.
Once again, thank you for taking the trouble to bring these matters to my attention.
Best regards

This was our sixth visit to Blaenfforest Cottage. It was perfect as always. Sally & Russell always make us feel really welcome. This place is just so relaxing from the moment we arrive. There are just so many things that make it really special. The peacocks, the woodland surroundings, our own hot tub to relax in at the end of each day, the sheer tranquillity of the place. We really cannot recommend it enough. So many places are accessible from here that we find new places to go every time we visit. Our dog also absolutely adores it here too and so many pubs, cafes etc are dog friendly which also makes holidaying in this area a bonus, not that Blaenfforest needs a bonus!

Thoroughly enjoyable week, providing the peace and quiet we needed. Well, the peacocks aren't always quiet, but it doesn't disturb. Pleasant part of the country, and nicely quiet out of the summer holiday season - even the weather was quite friendly. The hot tub was very adequately sized, and quite private. Thanks to Sally and Russell for our very pleasant stay.

This was our second visit to the cottage. The previous year it had been our honeymoon and was incredible. This is a brilliant place to get away from it all and relax. The cottage isn't large but it has everything you need. This year we did a lot of cooking in the kitchen and despite it's size we prepared some great meals. The best bit of course has to be the hot tubs - we usually visited them once during the day and then again in the evening when it was dark - being in there with the lights is magical. Sally and Russel the owners go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and even leave you some treats for your arrival. It's a great location for getting out and about and visiting places. We can't wait to go back.

If you want peace and tranquility (the only noise I think was from the peacocks), and you want to get away from it all, then this place is ideal. We stayed in the 1 bed cottage, and it is compact, but has all you need apart from clothes washing facilities.
The owners have provided a very welcoming cottage, and you are also provided with some local goodies on arrival, for example eggs from their own chickens, and honey from their bees. You are encouraged to walk wherever you want around the property, and Sally and Russell have created a lovely woodland walk down to the babbling brook in the valley and back. Quite delightful.
There is a private hot tub for each cottage (7 seat for the Granary and 3 seat for the Cottage), and they are of a high standard - we used ours a few times, and once again, Sally and Russell have provided a little extra in towels for use with the hot tub (in addition to the normal towels for indoor use). It is a delight to sink into this after a hard day's travelling! Very relaxing, and invigorating too.
Location-wise this was ideal for us for our exploration of West Wales - we visitied Manorbier, Abereiddy (Blue Lagoon is well worth a visit - it is stunning), Newport, Carmarthen, Cardigan, St. Dogmaels, New Quay, Aberaeron, Cenarth Falls and other places along the way.
Would we recommend this to others. Definitely YES.

If you want a romantic weekend in a very private and secluded spot then this cottage is for you.
It is set in a beech wood (which must look amazing in autumn!) with peacocks roaming freely.
The cottage is perfect for two. It's cosy and every facility is there plus little extras awaiting your arrival
- eggs, milk, wine and chocolates. The hot tub is fabulous, set in a gazebo overlooking the valley.
Despite the rainy weather we opened up the doors and felt like we were in the open air while the warm
bubbles danced around us! On a clear moonlit night it would be paradise!!

Blaenfforest Cottage is delightful. We arrived an hour later than we had planned and received a very warm welcome from Sally and Russell and were shown round the cottage, garden and our own secluded hot tub. A lot of thought has been put into what is provided - absolutely everything worked. A particular joy was the huge shower head with additional hand held shower head on the side and what seemed like a never ending supply of hot water. We have stayed at many places where Wi-Fi is offered but never works - at Blaenfforest the Wi-Fi is instant and very welcome as we love to be able to research tourist information while on holiday. The garden table and chairs were spotless and comfortable. There was a little chiminea but we didn't have time to try that. The dining table looked out over a bird feeder that was refilled as if by magic every day (thank you Russell) and we enjoyed watching great spotted woodpeckers, chaffinches, sparrows and various other wild birds (which we cannot name as the review site considers their name to be "profane text" so you can probably guess that they were birds of the blue and great variety) enjoying the feast. The leather sofa was comfy and as for the bed, well we had the most amazing night's sleep every single night! We took our dog with us and it was lovely to be able to take her for a stroll in the garden, by the pond or the woodland early in the morning and late evening. The hot tub was just out of this world. If someone had said to us what would make your holiday perfect, never in a million years would we have thought that a hot tub would do it! Well it was wonderful to have our own hot tub in a little covered pavilion overlooking the treetops - it was the highlight of every morning and evening - fantastic. Sally said to be sure to try the hot tub as soon as possible because, to use her words, "it will uncrinkle you" - well it certainly did that! We forgot to bring towelling robes with us but the huge towels provided were marvelous. A couple of evenings it was unseasonably cold but the heating worked a treat. We loved seeing the Peafowl; males with beautiful tail feathers, females and five chicks - the many different sounds they made were hilarious and we never knew where they would be - up on the chimney, over by the barn or on the fence near our window. The Guinea fowl were amusing too. We really appreciated the wine, waffles, milk, Blaenfforest eggs and refreshing melon on arrival. It was a treat to have dark skies so that we could enjoy seeing the stars. There is another holiday cottage on site (the Granary) and yet it felt like we were the only ones there because of the thought that has been given to ensure comfort and privacy to guests. Blaenfforest Cottage is a great place to stay - Sally and Russell really have thought of everything.

What can we say - this was another wonderful, tranquil, relaxing break in beautiful surroundings. We stayed here for two weeks in May and couldn't wait to come back. Sally and Russell are the best hosts you could possibly wish for, providing many extra "treats" on arrival, wine, chocs, etc. and are always ready to offer any help or advice needed and are a wealth of info on the local area. Blaenfforest is home to Peacocks, Guinea Fowl and many other birds and photo opportunities are plenty. Our bearded collie is totally relaxed and happy here and this is an area where we have found that dogs are particularly welcome in pubs, shops etc. We can only add that we are looking forward to our next visit!

A very delightful location, a beautiful little cottage, good kitchen, good bathroom great shower, comfortable living room with decent leather settee and armchair. The cottage comes with its own Hot Tub in a modern outdoor room. Lots of Peacocks and Guinea Fowl strutting around, the owners breed them, they also have an Aviary, hens, (will supply fresh eggs), ducks and sheep. There is a woodland walk with a stream running through it and a very well maintained and pretty garden with a wildlife pond. The whole is run by a very friendly couple, Sally and Russell ( whose names are coincidently the same as are two children) who seem to have thought of just about everything to make your stay unique, to be highly recommended, Brenda and Mike Rose

My husband and I spent 5 days in the Granary and a week in the Dairy Cottage and enjoyed it very much. Of course the Granary was much more spacious, but we liked the cosy Dairy, too which offered lovely views of all the farm birds (esp. the peacocks) outside. Sally and Russell were great hosts and very helpful when needed. The hot tubs were an amazing extra to enjoy e.g. in the evening after a long day of sightseeing. To do the latter you definitely need a car because Blaenfforest is in the countryside - the best location for getting away from the hectic everyday business at home! The gardens and woodland walk are also lovely. So if we should some day come back to Wales it is VERY likely that we will stay there again. Thank you, Sally and Russell!

There is nothing to fault. The cottage itself was lovely, it didn't feel like a holiday cottage, more like a home from home. Everything you could possible think of was provided, and more! The hot tub was amazing, nicely tucked around the back so it was completely private, and the best bit, unlimited use!
Really really lovely place. Definitely recommend.

Blaenfforest is truly a very special, tranquil place for a relaxing holiday. Sally and Russell are wonderful hosts who are happy to give advice on anything or anywhere. The cottage is lovely and comfortable, and we were greeted with extras, chocolates, wine, waffles and lovely flowers from the gardens as well as complimentary tea, coffee, milk and also toiletries. The peacocks, guinea fowl and all the birds around all day made for wonderful photo opportunities. The spa was also very welcome every evening after our days out with our bearded collie, Katie. The location is very central for visiting Wales and it was great to find so many dog friendly establishments, pubs, shops etc. Thank you Sally and Russell for two wonderful weeks. We can't wait to return as soon as possible. Rob, Mary, Katie.

The cottage was gorgeous very snug and comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need! Sally and Russell provide tea, coffee and sugar, they also provide hand wash in the kitchen and bathroom. Blaenfforest provides a relaxing environment with hosts who are always on hand should you need anything. And to top off the whole experience there's the hot tub, which is a short walk around the corner, the hot tub is in a large summerhouse/ gazebo shed, which is totally private and not overlooked in any way, it also boasts a gorgeous view down the valley!!

We stayed in the cottage this time, but previously we have stayed in the Granary. We find both cottages are very comfortable and Sally and Russell make our stay memorable every time. The woodland walk is getting its' springtime flowers and a leisurely stroll before breakfast always makes for a good appetite. The Jacuzzi's are great fun and a really lovely addition to the atmosphere. As always we had a wonderful time and recommend Sally and Russells cottages to all our friends. we are returning to the Granary again in June.

Just returned after a weeks stay at the Cottage, couldn't have wished for anything nicer. A warm welcome from Sally the Owner and a welcome pack of wine, chocolate, eggs, milk etc. The one bed roomed cottage was very cosy with everything you could want to find whilst away - toiletries, coffee, tea - the list is endless. Immaculately clean and very well looked after. The hot tub was a bonus too. Loved everything about the break and have booked to return in a October.

Loved all the goodies and attention to detail. Good central location.
Loved watching all the wild life and especially the peacocks and the frogs in the pond. The hot tub was amazing, used this every day, had the doors open looking down the valley.
Spent a few afternoons just reading and painting. A perfect getaway for a relaxing break. Will recommend and hope to return.

I couldn't be any happier with my short stay at Blaenfforest Cottage, it was perfect. Sally and Russell are great host and really make you feel welcome. On arrival we was greeted to fresh daffodils, chocolates, waffles, milk, eggs and a bottle of wine. The cottage itself is lovely, its cosy, spotlessly clean with everything you can possibly need. I will definitely be recommending the place to family and friends, and hope to return in the future. We was also shown around the Granary which sleeps 4 which again has been beautifully done up to a high quality with the added feature of a log fire. The plus of Sally and Russell living on site was i managed to lock myself out the cottage whilst the cooker was on, so Sally was on hand to save the day with her spare key. The hot tub is amazing its set in a gazebo overlooking the woods, which was perfect as we had a lot of rain so it was lovely to go sit and relax in it with a glass of wine. We had our very own tour guide for the woodland walk (one of Sally’s inquisitive cats) and the pond garden and all the surrounding scenery is lovely.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the cottage from 17th-20th January 2014 and had a lovely stay.
The cottage is in a place called pantybwlch which is 2 miles away from Newcastle Emlyn, so maybe a little misleading if you are wishing to stay closer to the centre.
The cottage itself is lovely.
The only thing I could fault with it (and can't be changed) is that the door to the bathroom is in the lounge and so its not very private! It has a wooden stable like door on it, which is in keeping with the cottage, which is lovely, but again not very private.
It was about 1 degree at night, and the heating does go off. We couldn't work out how to turn it on, we think it is controlled from the main house, however this didn't bother us enough to go and ask Sally and Russell! There is also an electric fire in the lounge, and so if we were cold, we just put that on and left the bedroom door open!
The hot tub is amazing, it is a little walk from the cottage, literally just around the back of the cottage, however it is a walk and its not private (not that anyone could see you really, as the garden for the granary is on the opposite side) so make sure you take your bath robe!
The cottage was filled with little touches like toffee waffles, local chocolate, a bottle of wine etc and there is a hairdryer there.
The tv is a little small however was still fit for purpose!
All in all, it was perfect value for money, and was exactly what we needed. A cottage in the middle of no where, to just relax and watch box sets all weekend!

A lovely post christmas break. The weather was awful so we spent the first day just reading and snoozing -the cottage is so snug it was easy to do!. The highlight of each day was sitting in the hot tub with the windows open (yes it was warm enough in the tub to do this) just watching the stars. Sally & Russell were helpful and friendly without intruding in any way. the goodies they had left for us were very welcome! Will definitely consider a spring break there.

An idyllic short break away. Exactly what we needed! Perhaps the addition of some lights (fairy lights) inside the hot tub gazebo, as it gets dark so early.

My wife and I had a lovely stay at Blaenfforest cottage. It was cosy with everything we needed; the shower & hot tub were superb!!. We took time to walk around the woodland area which was an ideal place to take our dog. There is picturesque scenery and a variety of animals to see from the cottage window (including cats, dogs, peacocks and countless different types of birds). Sally & Russell are very accommodating & if there's anything you need they will do their best to help. All in all I would highly recommend Blaenfforest to anyone looking to kick back & enjoy a slower pace of life. We will definately be returning for another break soon!...
