Perfect for families and couples, set in a lovely quiet area just off the Royal Mile, nestling at the foot of historic Calton Hill, the seriously stylish three bedroom Malt Kiln Apartment is your perfect city holiday retreat. With bright, spacious living areas, the Rennie Mackintosh inspired apartment is built on the site of the former historic Canongate brewery maltings. A short walk away from Edinburgh’s major attractions it has a selection of delicious restaurants and cafes on your doorstep. The flat has been expertly designed by its Interior Designer owner to give you a stylish contemporary Scottish welcome. Crisp Egyptian cotton bed linen and pocket spring mattresses provide a great night’s sleep.
This is strictly a peaceful, no parties flat.

We found the apartment to be a 15 minute walk from Waverly Station, ideally situated for exploring all the city . Harry met us there and explained everything and gave us the keys, we came on the train so didn't need to use the parking facilities. We only used the apartment as a base, but it looked to have everything you would need in the kitchen. Everywhere was very clean and tidy, milk in the fridge which was a lovely touch.

There are only 2 things that I feel need mentioning, the apartment was cold in the lounge, the heating was on but there is a door off the kitchen leading to a balcony which doesn't seal properly and the draft from it was quite bad, I would imagine in the winter it would be much worse, maybe a thick curtain would help? I felt bad having the heating on as it just felt like it was going out of that door. The shower is over the bath and a little snug, we kept sticking to the shower curtain.

We visit Edinburgh regular and when coming with friends we would stay here again, definitely recommend.

Thanks for taking the time to write your review of The Malt Kiln Apartment. We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and found the apartment to be convenient, also that your check-in experience was helpful! And recommending it to others! Normally this apartment is actually too warm! Whilst we keep the default setting of the heating low to try to counter this, our guests are free to adjust the temperature to suit. The wind normally comes in from the other side of the building (South West) - it is unusual for it to be against the kitchen window, so we have never had any reports of draughts from here before. We will have the insulation replaced. We do wish that you had let us know at the time so we could have reassured you about raising the heating temperature! We do look forward to welcoming you back sometime!

Excited to visit Edinburgh after such a long time. Apartment is near Holyrood end of the city, walkable from Waverley station (downhill). Was greeted by Linda at 3pm who had kindly provided a pint of milk and biscuits so we could have a cuppa upon arrival. Lovely toiletries provided. Spacious accommodation and plenty of storage. Flagged some issues with the host and owner upon checkout which weren’t enough to warrant flagging during our stay, but to sort for the next guests.
The bathroom would benefit from some TLC.

Apartment was warm with easy controls in the hallway to adjust temp, as required.

A lovely three bedroom modern apartment just off of Edinburgh's historic Royal Mile. A short walk to both the Scottish Parliament and Holyrood Palace. Waverley Station and St James shopping centre are a 15 minute walk up Calton Road. For those self-catering, there is a Tesco Express mini market on Holyrood Road, a 10 minute walk away. All in all a perfect location to explore one of Europe's most beautiful cities. The communications and assistance from both the property owner and servicing company were first-rate.

3 generations of family ranging in age from 7 to 71 stayed in the apartment and it perfectly met all our needs. Location was perfect for the festival, yet with windows closed we could keep out the noise from the city hubbub at this extremely busy time which was useful for sleep. Everything we could need was thoughtfully provided and with a Tesco Express just a 5 minute walk away picking up necessities was never a problem. We were so impressed we intend to come again.

A nice apartment, great spot near the Royal Mile. Free parking is a bonus. Comfy beds, everything you need for a long stay was provided. It needs to have a thorough clean and the shower could be better but overall a great place.

We enjoyed our stay very much at Malt Kiln Apartment. The proximity to Omni centre, Edinburgh Playhouse, Princes Street and The Royal Mile was fantastic. The kitchen could do with a few more utensils if anyone wanted to do a lot of cooking but we ate out most of the time so this was not a problem for us. Lovely living room and dining space to enjoy spending time with family and friends. Would visit again.
