We had a lovely weekend staying at the main house in Llanfendigaid, 8 adults and 10 children were a comfortable fit with plenty of space. Brilliant dining hall as entertaining space and two front rooms made for no battle for space between the kids and adults. The swimming pool is really nice, warm and big enough to enjoy a few games in. Location is perfect if you want to be off the beaten track - a short walk to the beach and a feeling of being away from it all.
House is well equipped and full of character and was easy to find.

Would recommend for groups of families who want to spend some quality time together - pool a great back up for rainy days!

So special to be able to stay in a very 'traditional' home in such a great location for the weekend. Everything you need and the housekeeper Emma was very responsive to any of our questions. Great to leave the car and use the local train station 'Tonfanau' and enjoy the fantastic scenic train ride north. Also a 3.5 mile walk south along the coast to Tywyn.

We stayed at this amazing house for my friend’s 40th birthday celebration, and it was an unforgettable weekend! With 16 of us, there was plenty of room for everyone. The house itself was beautifully maintained, and the surrounding grounds were stunning. We loved waking up to breathtaking views of the countryside and the beach. The pool room was a peaceful retreat, perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Overall, we had the best stay and would happily return for another getaway. Highly recommended!

Our grandchildren love the adventure of being in a large old house with plenty of circulation space.
The swimming pool is a big plus.
Some rooms and decor are ready for an upgrade.
Barbecue area was a favourite.
We appreciated the welcome and flowers and settled in quickly.

Lovely property with room for 3 generations to holiday together. Very spacious living areas and kitchen well equipped. Lovely garden areas and plenty of outdoor seating. Swimming pool brilliant on days when weather not great. V helpful hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Good price when comparing to other similar properties.

It was like staying in a really interesting National Trust property. The house interior is shabby, but it is dated 1745 so that is fine, and ideal for families because we could all relax. Best for hide and seek. Loads of space. Huge entrance hall and back lobby for all the shoes bags and coats. Dining room ideal for family celebrations. The swimming pool and table tennis table were great fun. We loved the secure private garden which surrounded the house- the family dog had a great holiday- he relaxed as we could leave the back door open and he
could roam safely. Flower gardens. Plenty places to sit. There are walks directly from the house. 25 minutes walk to the beach. You mustn't mind sharing toilets and bathrooms.

A fabulous venue for a large family gathering plus a beautiful setting. Whether you are looking for peace and quiet or lots of activities in the area, Llanfendigaid has both to offer.
This was our second stay , both highly enjoyable and with recent investment by the new owners in accommodation, it’s clear Llanfendigaid is in good hands.

We had an amazing stay at The Llanfendigaid Estate - the property was and surrounding area was stunning, with everything we could possibly need. The communication with staff was excellent. Brilliant value for money - there were 16 of us for 3 nights and the price per person was very reasonable. We loved everything about it and would definitely return.

The location was perfect for our group - as was the weather for our 3 night stay. Would definitely return as there was so much to see and do both on the estate, and an easy distance away. We used an outside caterer for a special meal on one of the nights.
We meet up quite regularly as a group who trained together ( + husbands). This was definitely one of the best venues we have used.
Everything we needed was provided considering we were self catering, including tea, coffee, sugar and milk to use when we arrived, down to tablets to use in the dishwasher. The swimming pool was made good use of, and there were plenty of seats for us to use to sit in the lovely grounds. Although there were only 3 shower / bathrooms, there was never a queue waiting to use them.
All 12 of the group thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Llanfendigiaid.

We had an excellent stay. It was a great place for all the family to come together and create some lasting memories. We booked the main house and one of the cottages which gave us flexibility and allowed space for everyone to enjoy themselves.
The grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the pool and it was a great base to visit several attractions in the area.
We also enjoyed having a table that was big enough for us all to come together in the evening to share our day and play games.
I would recommend a visit to any large group looking to meet up and wanting a peaceful relaxing stay.

We were looking for somewhere the whole family, all generations, could join us to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The owners replied promptly with availability and booking was really straightforward. The guide book emailed to us was very thorough and the hosts could not have been more helpful making us feel very ‘at home’ from the minute we arrived.

The property was superb, beautifully furnished and fitted with everything you could possibly need. Rooms were all spacious and some bedrooms almost suites if you did want somewhere to escape the family! The kids were safe to roam and explore inside and out and obviously we knew the swimming pool would be a hit.

We used the recommended fish and chip shop to start our weekend (pre ordered via email) and I suspect started a new family tradition! Yes, we’ll definitely be back. Thank you for sharing your estate with us.

We had the most amazing 6 days with family and friends celebrating my birthday at stunning Llanfendigaid. It was perfect. The house itself is wonderful, lovely and traditional but with every modern comfort - lashings of hot water and incredibly comfortable beds!
The setting is beautiful with hills all around and endless views of the sea. We went for lovely long dog walks, cycled the Mawddach Trail and played golf at Aberdovey. In the evenings we lit the fire, played lots of games and feasted in the dining room.
Llanfendigaid is the perfect place for a family gathering and I cannot recommend it more highly.

We booked both the main house and the Cow Shed for a hen do.
Two totally different interiors, the house was spacious and traditional. Cosy lounge areas, long banquet table, huge comfy beds - even the twin beds were great. Electric blankets were a nice touch too.
We had caterers in to create a beautiful grazing table, tied in so lovely with the decor.
Having the option of the Pool was brilliant, star gazing is on another level and the beach being so close really added to our weekend.
The Shepard huts look so cosy, we walked up to the top one, the sunset view was just perfect.
Great house for a party, on every level!
Gareth and Lisa were friendly, helpful and approachable. We even arranged to go and see the house before our stay to ensure all our plans would work for everyone.
Perfect, highly recommend - thank you!

A fabulous house for a post Christmas break with friends and dogs!
The swimming pool was well used by the children in our party, a great addition as the great British weather halted any outdoor pursuits!
The beds felt like sleeping on a cloud- didn’t want to get up in the mornings!
Had everything we needed - the dining table was a snug fit as we had 11 adults around it plus 6 children but it made it cosy!
We hope to return soon- thank you

We had a fabulous time at this venue. It was a fitting setting for a Murder Mystery night & Halloween fright night.
Set in wonderfully groomed grounds.
The swimming pool was an added bonus that we used & had loads of fun in every day.
The kitchen was well stocked with utensils & general home comforts.
It was well heated & very comfortable.
Loads of fuel provided for the fires which are both in the house & externally around the grounds.
There is also a stunning sunset view with a stone fire pit on the hill.
We would highly recommend it to friends & family.

Had a lovely stay, also hired the Cowshed that was beautiful and clean. Lovely location. Pool added bonus, shame the shower was not working. However would definitely return to the cowshed. The main hose was great for a celebration. Cleanliness was not of a high standard. I appreciate it’s an old building, but a lot of dust. The table that the television was on, I could write my name on it. However it did not deflect from our lovely stay. However we could not use the single room at the top. The mattress is not fit for purpose, you can feel the springs . I know it’s a work in progress. However we did enjoy the house, and will recommend to friends and family.

Hi Anwen. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Glad you enjoyed your stay and that you will recommend to friends and family. We do apologise for the dust you experienced in the Main House rooms on the ground floor. This is a one off and could only be the result of dust settling from work we had done on the two fires in the house a few days before your stay. We should have picked up on this though. We normally get 5/5 for cleanliness. We will have a look at the mattress you have mentioned and replace if needed. The shower in the pool will be working from January onwards when we convert to a ground source heat pump heating system for the pool. We thank you again for staying with us and booking out two properties. We hope you do come and stay again soon. Regards Gareth, Lisa and Emma.

A weekend I will never forget - Llanfendigaid will always have a special place in my heart.

Not only a collection of beautiful buildings in a truly remote and magical location, but each property has been beautifully done up, and carefully considered. The cleaning team are incredible, accommodating and friendly. Lisa, Gareth and the team were extremely responsive and helpful.

The pool is a wonderful addition, as is the BBQ area, and the viewing point at the top of the hill to watch the sun set and the dolphins cruise past!

Thanks again,
Charlie

Beautiful venue for our family gathering. Spacious, welcoming and comfortable. It's an old house but even in the cold temperatures this weekend it was still warm. Only downside was the pool was out of order. Despite the owners best efforts to rectify the problemit wasn't available for the entire stay. One of the main reasons for the choice of venue was the pool. Kids were dissapointed but it didn't let it spoil our time there

Large property ideal for our purpose. Due for upgrading but still comfortable and historically very interesting. Weather was surprisingly dry and sunny which obviously helped. Lovely location and comfortable beds so people slept well. Swimming on the cool side, we understand there was a leak in the pool but it was a dissapointment although some of our group used it. Handyman was friendly and obligingly kept a good supply of logs available for stoves

We are having the indoor swimming pool refurbished in the first months of 2023. We are really excited about how it will be after that. Apologies it was on the cold side for your stay. We hope that you do return. Kind regards. Gareth and Lisa.

As 4 famillies and friends we just spent 3 nights at Llanfendigaid estate.
What a fantastic house, full of character, set in a peaceful surrounding, Seaview on one side of the house and countryside on the other.
The house was spotlessly clean with the best beds and duvets I've ever slept in.
The kids loved the pool and loved playing hide and seek in a house with so many hiding places.
Will definitely return was just amazing - thankyou to the owners and their staff the house is just beautiful

We held our “Birthiversary” bash at Talyllyn Railway and The Llanfendigaid Estate. What an amazing setting! The main House was just superb, retaining its roots with real reverence to the past. It wasn’t just a modified shell, it had a sense of history and that made it more than special. Fantastic facilities, superb kitchen, fabulous dining room and cosy fire burners. We had 24 people and two dogs stay across multiple buildings and everyone loved it. The kids adored the swings in the trees and the swimming pool was a real hit. We loved that there was enough space for us all to congregate and that everyone had enough own space to retreat to when needed. Rob was lovely and if there had been any issues it was reassuring to know we could contact him, but nothing came up. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Llanfendigaid Estate, from the ease of booking through to arrival - it was straight forward and the accommodation superb.

We were a mixed age group from a toddler to an 86 year old. This house suited all of us . It has a lovely barbecue area, nice grounds which make it very private. Across the road is an indoor swimming pool which proved very popular with the younger members of the party. A short drive takes you to Tywyn which has a lovely beach. We also visited the steam railway which was lots of fun.

A lovely comfortable house, children loved the pool going in every day, good walks in the area, Aberdovey was a super beach. Loved the Talyllyn Railway and the Fairbourne Railway & Ferry was great for children. Interesting walk up to the Bearded Lake although forgot to try out the Echo! Have the emergency lights on a night was really useful.

We booked the main house for 11 persons, being my wife and I, our 2 sons and their respective wives and their 5 children (3x 8 years old, 1 x 6 years old and 1 x 20 months).
It was truly perfect for such a group: well equiped large kitchen with 2 ovens, a very large refrigerator and a large chest freezer, all needed cooking and eating utensils, drip coffee machine etc. Very large dining room with a dining table comfortably able to accomodate all 11 at the same. The modern washing machine in the laundry was used very frequently. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms.
The house is marvellously located in an extremely quiet location with large grounds and wonderful views from the garden at the back of the house to the west over the fields and sea and from the dining room and kitchen over the hills and farms to the east.
Best aspects of the house as voted by the grandkids were the tyre swing hung from a tree at the back of the house and the (heated) swimming pool which was used for hours each day. We had real difficulty in getting the grandkids to spend any time away from the house and grounds.
Surrounding countryside is stunning.
Unreservedly recommended.

Llanfendigaid is an amazing property full of history and it was a privilege to be able to stay there with my family for a week. The house has a lovely warm atmosphere and feels very much like a loved family home and not an old relic. The weather wasn't kind to us, but the house was cosy and the pool provided lots of entertainment. We would highly recommend the local bakers in Twywyn (get there early) and if catering for a special event, Dineindulge were amazing!

An exceptional house full of history, quirky but with all the modern amenities needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Our party was a cross section of all age groups celebrating a 40th birthday. The house accomodation was just perfect for us all - spacious enough for 17, but without losing that cosy home from home feeling! It would be perfect for any size of group. The pool and garden areas went down a storm especially as we were blessed with such glorious weather.
The caterers recommended were excellent and the kitchen and house was perfect for a sumptious celebratory dinner.
We even found time to lounge on the large comfy setees with a roaring fire.
To cap it all the beds were super comfy! A thoroughly delightful stay, would highly recommend.

We have been using Llanfendigaid House for many years to run residential week's for people living with cancer. It is a wonderful facility for such a recuperative retreat. The old house has great character and history. It is not an overly modernised property and, as such, it maintains a family warmth and comfortable feel. Going through the door is like stepping back to simpler times.

We as a family loved the location and space and gardens provided by LLanfendigaid and enjoyed a happy time together.
Graham was great, very friendly and welcoming and we particularly appreciated the pool and BBQ area. There was plenty of hot water for all and the home was lovely and warm.
However, there are a few points which are worth considering.
The standard of cleanliness was poor. Clearly under/behind furniture had not been cleaned and the fact that there were still little 70 table decorations on the floor in the dining area showed that the carpet had not been hoovered thoroughly. The state of the kitchen floor was particularly disappointing.
The provision of crockery was excellent, but some of the pans and particularly baking trays we used for baking from the utility cupboards could do with replacing.
We also wondered whether you would consider providing plastic crockery for the youngsters, given that you provide highchairs.
We were also disappointed that the table tennis table was out of operation.
The above are comments only and certainly did not prevent us from enjoying time together.
Thank you.

Hi Val, Really sorry that the property did not meet your expectations. We do have high expectations ourselves here at Llanfendigaid and we will take on your feedback and make changes / improvements as necessary. Unfortunately, for your property clean, it appears that we didn't have the normal cleaners / cleaning sign off process in place on that changeover day and this has possibly led to the standards dropping on cleaning. We will investigate further! As the new owners (custodians), we have just begun a process of replacing anything that needs to be replaced in each property. The table tennis is currently out of operation as the roof of the building it is within has been damaged in the wind. We are going to find a way of ensuring guests can use it until the roof is fixed and safe. Apologies for that. In terms of the plastic cutlery for young children then yep that is something we can look at going forward. Although we are a bit anti-plastic for environmental reasons. We have some really exciting plans for the estate and we will keep in touch with you as we roll out our plans. We sincerely hope that we will see you again as a guest and that we succeed in obtaining a higher rating from you next time you come and stay! As a returning guest, you will be entitled to a discount on your next stay. We want to show you just what changes we have made over the next 6 to 12 months. Thanks again for choosing Llanfendigaid. Apologies again. Kind regards Gareth and the Team

We were so over the moon to find that not only was Llanfendigaid Estate like something out of a fairy-tale, it had every amenity, utensil and facility to ensure you were more than comfortable, especially catering to large groups. The estate was so beautiful and well kept and we were so grateful that there was so much information on the history of the household. So much love and care has gone into making Llanfendigaid Estate comfortable and warm and well kept, and we were so grateful for the experience and have already recommended it to so many people.

Excellent property with large, comfortable rooms and endless beauty, charm and character. Our group ranged in age from 7 to 70 - everyone had plenty to do and lots of space to relax and play. The main house and setting are stunning with the location conveniently located about a 20 minute drive from the nearest town. All the bedrooms in the house are spacious and the beds are huge as well as being very comfortable. The kitchen is a decent size and there was plenty of space and utensils to cook and seat our party of 17.
Overall would highly recommend this stay.

The 'Enid Blyton' label fits well - our grandchildren loved this place and the swimming pool was a big bonus. Location superb and peaceful yet within easy reach of beaches and stunning scenery. Agent helpful. Beds comfortable. The large dining table facilitated family meals (though we took plastic cloth to protect it). BBQ area worked well. History fascinating!
Good to have the space to relax.

Our 3 generational families love this house and grounds. Ideal for children (great for hide and seek!), comfortable but well used (so you don't have to be watching the youngsters all the time to avoid knocks and bumps). The swimming pool in the grounds is a great asset but it is also close to some lovely beaches and countryside. We have stayed here twice and will return again I am sure.

This was a holiday for our extended family. The weather was beautiful and we were able to use both the inside of the house and the extensive garden. The house has the feel of a family home and is very comfortable. The bathrooms and kitchen could not be called modern but are well equipped, are in character with the house and, importantly, work as they should. The swimming pool is is a very valuable asset and provided hours of fun for our grandchildren. TV, WiFi etc are all what you would expect. At first glance it may seem expensive but if it provides a holiday for up to 18 people it is actually very good value. One man’s meat is another’s poison and I am wary about recommending things but if you want a holiday for a large number of people in a quiet rural location then this is for you.

Great location, very quiet and not too far away from the beach or the nearest town Tywyn.
The house was homely and big enough to get lost in.
The pool was great and fun to unwind after climbing hills all day.
Great to walk up one of the side paths to look out over the sea and watch the sun go down sat next to a log fire. Lovely end to the day.

We took the whole of the estate last weekend and Llanfendigaid is obviously the main accommodation. It is a beautiful old house, not glossy and chic but spacious, warm, full of character and welcoming. We had a wonderful time there and everyone was blown away with the huge beds and fascinated with the electric blankets! There was space for everyone, plenty of equipment for the numbers and nothing that we were lacking. The location is quiet and the scenery just beautiful. It is Wales and November so there was obviously rain but that didn't dampen spirits and many walks took place! The swimming pool on site was a god send for the younger contingent and the fact that WIFI was available ensured that they were not cut off from their worlds! No phone signal took some getting used to for the older contingent but it was probably a good thing as it did help us relax (and we knew there was a pay phone for emergencies). A great weekend overall - thank you Graham and Will

We celebrated our golden wedding anniversary by staying with family and friends in Llanfendigaid for a week.

The house was pretty much ideal for our requirements, having plenty of room, comfortable beds, and a very fine location. We found the kitchen to be well equipped, providing all the tools we needed to cater for a large party of people. Also, two lounges for us to relax in. Only one of them has a tv. We did think that another tv would have been useful, but that's nit picking really. The internet provision has recently been upgraded and is very good. No extra charge for this either, which is good.

The swimming pool proved very popular with our party. A very fine facility in easy reach of the house.

I should also mention that Graham, who looks after the estate, was very helpful, and in the run-up to our visit all my queries were answered by Will very promptly.

All in all, I think we made a good choice of venue for our celebration

We had a fantastic week at Llanfendigaid Estate. The location is stunning and is great for outdoor activities such as cycling, walking and visiting the beaches. Our ages ranged from 6-71 and everyone enjoyed the visit. The children made use of the extensive grounds and loved the tyre swing and indoor pool. The BBQ area is a sun trap and also a sheltered spot from wind. Inside, the house is ideal for large groups. At meal times, the children would sound the gong ready for us to sit and eat at the huge dining table. Having two sitting rooms was perfect. The children made a base in the one with the TV whilst the adults relaxed across the hall! We usually visit France for our family get together but feedback from all 4 families was that this was the most enjoyable week due to activities available locally and the truly stunning scenery.

The venue was ideal for the number of guests who attended. The weather allowed us to BBQ and spend time on the lawns in the secluded gardens. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped for our catering.

The Hall, cottages, Cow shed and pool were perfect for our family Easter and 60th birthday gathering. The Hall is spacious and not too pristine that children cannot feel at home. The history is fascinating and every room has historical artifacts. The grounds are stunning we were blessed with bluebells, lily of the Valley, camellias, and many flowering shrubs. Just a short walk from the station where you can hop on and go along the coast to many interesting places. I can highly recommend a stay here.

Thanks v much for your review. I regret it is impossible to offer unlimited free broadband using satellite technology as the costs are very high indeed and hitherto has been impossible to get a land based broadband service. However, I am happy to report that within a few months we will have leased line technology installed giving the option at last for free unlimited use broadband and an extremely fast (100Mbs up and down) for a small additional cost.

I would like to start with what a beautiful location the estate is located at. I took my family for my sons 30 th birthday for most part it was ideal for my large family and it provided everything we required for our weekend although the only thing I was disappointed in was the tv room. This room needs money spending on it. The couches are dirty. They are extremely uncomfortable and the room was not comfortable to sit in. As it was January we had to spend a lot of time in the house and as there was only one room with a tv we had no choice but to sit in there. I would like to add this is merely constructive criticism and do think this is a beautiful estate and for most beautiful house so please spend bit of money in that room. Would like to say Graeme was a huge help

Thanks so much for your review. We very much welcome constructive criticism as it is by far the best way to stay on top of things. We do run a replacement cycle for pretty much everything and the furniture you have identified is scheduled for replacement shortly which hopefully will go some way to sorting that out. Getting the mix of furniture right for all ages can also be something of a challenge....but we will try and do better with the new lot.

We love you Llandfendigaid.

We had an excellent family break over Christmas (2018) at Llanfendigaid and Dove Cottage. We were a party of 20 people - 2 x grandparents, their 5 adult kids (plus 5 partners) and 8 grandchildren - and the house and dove cottage were perfect for a party of this size (we put the grandparents in Dove Cottage so that they had a bit of distance from the mayhem...)

Across the two buildings, there were more than enough bedrooms for this many people, enough space downstairs that we weren't on top of each other, and the swimming pool was a great way of getting the kids out of the house and active, even when the weather was poor.
The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need, the dining room big enough to host all of us at the same time, the log burning fires made the two sitting rooms really cosy and the location overlooking the coast is wonderful.

It's the perfect venue for a family stay and we will definitely be looking to do this again soon.

Held my 30th birthday here with all my familly.

House is very big with tons of rooms, kitchens fantastic, very comfortable sitting rooms and a huge dining room.

The grounds are beautifull and well kept along with a fantastic swimming pool.

Although its an old house it is very welcoming, warm and is fantastic and safe for young children to explore.

Every one with us loved the property and the only negative is that we only stayed for a weekend.

An amazing property sat within breathtaking scenery, cant recomend it enough!!

I booked the house with my filmmaking team which consisted of 16 cast and crew. The house is simply amazing and full of character. The paintings dotted around make for interesting viewing and the grounds are very well kept. A few of us used the pool which is another great addition and very relaxing as most of the time it is pretty empty in there of an evening. Graham was extremely helpful and able to answer and questions or queries we had at any time. Would happily come back here again and again.

We rented Llanfendigaid and all three cottages and campsite for a week to celebrate an 80th birthday. We couldn't have wished for a better location. The main house was spacious and comfortable with plenty of large reception rooms and lovely bedrooms with proper bed linen and the family history of the place was plain to see which added to the atmosphere of the house party. The decor was just right from sea shell and driftwood arrangements to family portraits. The cottages and grounds were also beautiful and gave 31 of us room to spread out and not be on top of one another yet we could all gather together for drinks in the drawing room and hall, dinner in the dining room or a have BBQ outside or at the Cow Shed and relax around the fire pit afterwards. The kitchens and pantry were very well equipped with large fridges and freezers and the ability to take a couple of dogs in the Stables and Cow Shed was appreciated and the cottages were well equipped for that.

The tranquility of the area and the sea and hills made for a very relaxing stay. Lots to do right from the doorstep or further afield; beach days, fishing, swimming, hill walking, historic houses and castles, cycling, country drives and golf to name a few. The surroundings were totally uncrowded yet it was not too much bother to cycle or drive to Twywn for supermarket supplies. Good TV for the World Cup and Wimbledon Finals and WiFi free to start with and then pay as you go was fine considering the remote location. Maps, suggested walks and information were all very good.

Booking and correspondence with the owner was faultless and administrative detail such as receiving deliveries of food and drink was seamless. The local manager and gardener were relaxed and helpful and made us feel really at home. By booking the entire estate it gave the feeling of total privacy and relaxation as we had exclusive use of the pool and grounds. The campground is lovely but if it had been full of campers the atmosphere would have been rather different.

We had never been to this part of Wales. And my wife and i wanted to take the "risk" of getting married in a place unknown to us. What a delight we did! Our guests had a great stay, as did we! The wedding was perfect and the place and area are just so romantic. This is the stuff you see in the movies. Now we lived one.

The week before the wedding i stayed with 9 friends of mine to explore the area by mountainbike. O wow, just wow... can i get back please?

See you in the future Llanfendigaid.

Such a special place which certainly contributed to a very special weekend spent celebrating a 40th birthday. Super comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, great dining area for entertaining (altho a little snug as we had people staying in the cow shed too). Scenery and surrounding area absolutely stunning. Would recommend titan zip line and white water rafting as well as the many local walks. Thank you for sharing the fascinating history of th house and for letting out! Truly a special place in which many memories made. We hope to return and highly recommend.

Llanfendigaid is such a beautiful home with so much history. It is set in lovely gardens, with amazing views surrounding the property. There are lots of outdoor activities nearby to do, which are great fun for hen/stag dos. The evenings in the house with the 14 girls having catered meals, getting merry and even remaking a Dua Lipa music video in our matching dressing gowns, is something we will never forget! We are all still talking about how fabulous it was now. Great value for money. Thanks for making my hen do the best weekend ever!

We had a party of 21 over four generations so this was an amazing property for the available space. With so much space we were really able spread out amongst the property. The whole family were happy with our stay. It’s such a remote location, so peaceful, and tranquil. We were lucky enough to experience our stay through he brief snow shower which coated the property in a beautiful white glaze. With log burners in both of the sitting rooms (the drawing room and the lounge) it was always warm.

The only addition we would have made would have been a burner in the dining room - though I can’t imagine we would have made it through our roast with that going too.

Entire family really enjoyed our stay, I hope that one day in the future we can revisit.

Having stayed in the property many times in the 1980’s and 1990’s it was a treat to return.

The most notable changes were the upgrades to all the bathrooms and cloakrooms, they are now all excellent.

However, the cooking facilities during our stay (14th to 24th April 2018) were well below a required standard and not in compliance with the rental agreement. The Aga was not functioning at all ( often the case 30 and plus years ago ) and only one of the two range cooker ovens generated any heat, for the first two days only unregulated heat.

Why were the problems with the range cooker not picked up by those responsible for the end of occupancy check with the previous renters? Why does the Aga, which is specifically stated in the property details, still not working 30 plus years after issues were first raised?

I would willingly rent the property again but only after reassurances that cooking facilities were as required to cater for 17guests.

Thanks for your review Chris. It is pretty much impossible to test every appliance between lets so we do rely on people telling us when things aren't working and this usually works pretty well - though obviously not on this occasion. The Aga does work so it is very unfortunate that it chose your particular holiday to go on the blink reinforcing its abysmal record for your holidays. Modern heating oil (they have recently changed the composition) does seem to give it (and all other gravity feed Agas) problems though so it is due for replacement this autumn with an oil fired pressure jet cooker which looks just the same but works with modern oil. I'm sorry it was not in for you this time - but it will be in next time. Latest news: It has now been installed and is up and running...

Fantastic location and house for a family holiday.

This was a perfect venue for a large family holiday with 10 adults and 6 children aged 3 to 9. Although the house isn't state of the art it had everything we needed and the children loved the space to hide and play. The beds, matresses and linen were wonderful in all double rooms. The location is incredible for nearby visits but the walks / cycle rides straight from the property were incredible. The pool was perfect for the children and it was used everyday. The hospitality was brilliant too. We would love to return, we had a very special holiday - thank you!

Fantastic, wonderful, brilliant, what more can I say. We hired llanfendigaid and its three cottages for my birthday celebrations with our friends and family. I obviously earmarked the cowshed for myself, having stayed once before I saw how special it was.
This was such an amazing weekend, our guests young and old had a great time, the kids were particularly taken with the pool! Graham was friendly and helpful and the food from sonia was a treat. The main building was used by us all on Saturday night and all I can add is a massive thank you for a perfect weekend, in a beautiful location that I will never forget x

Gorgeous house!!! I stayed with 16 friends for my 30th and we had such fun! Great activities a short drive away and a 10 min walk to the beach. I was worried with it being mid December the pool would be to cold but it wasn't, it was perfect and lovely and warm! The open fires are great but you have to keep plenty of wood in the house to top them up. Graham the grounds keeper was amazing showing us the house and grounds and giving us a few essentials we had forgotten. We had asda delivery all food ans dribks straight to the front door which made it so much easirt. Great place and will definitely be back very soon!

A big group of us stayed in the house & the cow shed. The house was very spacious, clean & cosy. We filled the house but never felt under each other's feet. The kids enjoyed all the space to play hide and seek. Everything was clean, but as you can appreciate with an old house there were a few areas that could do with freshening up.
The kids all loved the pool & enjoyed playing with all the inflatables left there.
Kitchen was equipped with everything you could need.
Communication with Will was quick & easy!
we had an amazing time, making lots of memories & would love to come again!

We enjoyed a great family holiday in this interesting house in August. Our family ranged in age from 8 years to 92 years and we enjoyed the lovely spacious rooms, the gardens and grounds and the swimming pool in particular. It was lovely that 17 people could all sit down to eat in the dining room with its large table for meals and board games. The bedrooms were attractive and the beds very comfortable..The kitchens were very well equipped for a large party and it was good to have a very large fridge and freezer..The two sitting rooms ensured a comfy chair for everyone. Wifi is very limited and mobile phone signal almost non existent.
Graham the manager was very pleasant and helpful. We hope to return to this special place.

- 2 hand towels per couple required
- some cushions in lounges need replacing
- some kitchen oven utensils were not clean
- blackout curtains in bedrooms would be useful
- Wifi was a constant problem
- In general, first impressions were of a rather drab nature
our comments are based on our many experiences of rented luxury properties of a high standard, 3 or 4 times per year.

My family and I stayed in the main house for a long weekend in July to celebrate my 40th Birthday. The owner Will was accommodating right from the outset (their policy during summer is normally for week long bookings and he bent the rules for me!). The house itself is amazing, like something from a film set with lots of history and there was information available for those that wanted to read up on it. The beds were extremely comfortable, plenty of bathrooms and showers so no one had to wait for long! (There were 17 of us with ages ranging from 2 - 70). The kitchen is really well equipped with plenty of plates and glasses etc and the dining table comfortably seated us all.
The location was great for us, we climbed Snowdon on the Saturday and explored the local area the rest of the weekend (I recommend a visit to the Salt Marsh Kitchen Bistro in Tywyn for a great meal).
The swimming pool was also an added bonus - complete with an inflatable volleyball net it kept the whole family entertained on the Sunday when our legs were aching from the hike!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here.

We booked Llanfendigaid for the week-end. Although a very roomy house we found it cosy and very comfortable. We all sat round the generous table for meals and then found the games cupboard! Surrounding garden was lovely. Quite a few of us spent time looking at the portraits and finding out about the history of the house - very interesting.Graham the manager was very friendly and helpful. Although in quiet surroundings it is a fairly short drive away from the busy seafront. We would definitely recommend the house for a big get together.

The house was perfect for my little sisters hen party.

It was quaint and quiet, in the middle of the Welsh countryside. We enjoyed our time at the house and recommend this to anyone that wants a fantastic house and is not bothered about being close to bars or clubs.

Llanfendigaid house is full of character, which would largely be lost if it was updated into super luxury accommodation. This character, combined with its stunning location, make a stay here very special and memorable. The countryside location is very quiet, and a short walk takes you out on to a small promontory with amazing views up and down the coast. Mobile reception is poor/patchy, which adds to the sense isolation. A good mix of twin and double rooms.

Booked for 3 night stay over the weekend. The house was very clean and very spacious for 17 people. Loved the fact we could all fit around the table to eat and the kitchen being well equipped. The bedrooms are very roomy and the mattresses were so comfortable, I found it hard to get out of bed in the morning!

The WiFi wasn't great but I liked the fact we weren't all buried in our phones....but then others wanted connection.

The bar-be-que area is large - unfortunately we didn't get to use it as it was a bit chilly.
The swimming pool wasn't too warm first thing in the morning but still a pleasant temperature and only a short walk down from the house.
The scenery and views are absolutely stunning, watching the sunset from what we called 'blue bell wood' was amazing!

10 of us went on a 2 hour pony trek to the beach with Blwychgwyn Farm Riding Stables (about a 15 min drive)... worth a visit for any horse rider.

There's a very nice walk down the lane to the beach past the Tonfanau railway station (probably about 30min walk each way)

We had such a good time at the house we are already planning on visiting again next year.

An excellent choice for a family celebration. Our party of 20, ranging in age from 1 to 70, shared Llanfendigaid and Stable Cottage for a week. Spacious accommodation, delightful grounds for play and leisure and a good heated pool. Lots to do in the surrounding area and very helpful on site management. Thoroughly recommended.

We hired the whole of the estate to celebrate our birthdays with friends. We had a wonderful time. The cottages and house were clean, comfortable and well stocked good facilities for self catering. The swimming pool was great. All the cottages were lovely and the house had such character and atmosphere that it made everything special. The grounds and surrounding area were very peaceful. We would recommend this estate for a stay in any of the cottages and the house.

We all thought that the house had a lovely, homely feel to it. The rooms had their own unique style and character. There are different aspects of the family history displayed which makes you feel even more part of it.

Booked for large family party - there were 20 of us in total sleeping here and in Stable Cottage - and there was plenty of room for sitting and dining. Everyone said how comfortable the beds were. The pool was a brilliant addition and occupied the children for hours. We were concerned about the uncovered, wooden dining table but it proved extremely resilient, wiping clean easily. The kitchen was well equipped and the large fridge was able to accommodate the plentiful supplies we had delivered direct from Asda. We were only there for a long weekend but would have loved to stay longer as there were more things to do in the area than we could fit in.

14 adults and 2 small children arrived on a miserable Friday evening to a house that was warm and well lit, which was very welcoming. The house was warm, comfortable, roomy and well equipped and was everything that we had wanted and hoped for.
We started the weekend with a birthday party, for 2 of our group as well as sending off another 2 of the family, who are emigrating to Australia, and the kitchen and dining room accommodated all of us comfortably, with the kitchen being superbly equipped with a huge fridge and a large range cooker and masses of work space both in the kitchen and the adjoining scullery
The 2 large reception rooms were large and comfortably furnished, both with log burning stoves, and a TV in one of the rooms.
The bedrooms were all large doubles and the beds were so comfortable it was a pleasure to go to bed and a job to get up in the mornings!
The bedrooms, over 2 floors were serviced on the first floor by a separate toilet and two bathrooms with baths and showers and the only down side in the whole house was the lack of a second bathroom on the second floor, just one bathroom, no shower and no separate toilet.
We all enjoyed the house and swimming pool, along with peace and quite and proximity to the sea, so much that we are hoping to pay a return visit in the future.

We came back because we had so enjoyed our stay last year, and we were not disappointed. We could allow the children (eleven of them, aged 2 - 14) to run free in true Famous Five fashion and we were blessed with fantastic weather which made this possible. Croquet and cricket were played on the back lawn, badminton on the front and swimming every day, often twice; in fact we had to drag them off the premises to do other things.

One of the nicest things is having two sitting rooms downstairs ; a quiet one for reading and talking, and another with children's board games and TV - this year heavily used for the Olympics! We like the fact that there is only one TV.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday at Llanfendigaid in July. What a lovely house – it was just right for our family and meant we could all be together to celebrate my husband’s (Grandpa or Grumpy as he is known!) 70th birthday. The weather wasn’t brilliant but it didn’t stop us enjoying the beaches, lovely walks, beautiful garden (which was perfect for treasure hunts!) and BBQs. The swimming pool was very much enjoyed by all too. The bedrooms were exceptionally comfortable and so attractive.

Llanfendigaid and the Cow Shed provided the perfect location for a family birthday celebration, comfortably accommodating an age range from 8 months to 75 years. We settled in immediately and enjoyed a wonderful stay. We booked the recommended caterers for the Saturday night birthday party, and found the elegant drawing room a great pre-dinner venue. None of us anticipated the history of the house, and were impressed by the array of artefacts, paintings and information on display. The swimming pool provided a great destination for the children, but perhaps they were most impressed with the unique opportunity for hide and seek. I think we all appreciated the friendly family feel the house afforded, and we found Graham, the estate manager, to be very friendly and helpful, together with the guides and maps for local walks, which we made full use of. Thank-you!

We stayed for a week with my 19 strong family consisting of ages 1 to 70+. Accommodation was perfect. Ideal location, loads to do in and outside. Pool and grounds a particular hit with the kids! The house was a perfect size, the facilities made it easy to cook for such a large party and there was plenty of room for us all to relax. Surrounding area meant we didn't have to travel far to have a lovely day out, few days on the beach and exploring the area were top of the list!

The house provided everything I expected and I would definitely recommend.

We loved the house and cottage, so warm and comfortable, and the electric blankets were a real and welcome surprise! Everywhere that was important was exceptionally clean - kitchen and bathrooms' bedrooms and bed linen. Everywhere else was clean and tidy although quite a few of the carpets were stained and looked a bit grubby in places. However I realise the house is in constant use so it must be difficult. The area is fabulous place for walking and with the train station just half a mile walk away, with conveniently timed early morning trains, we managed to walk from Barmouth to Aberystwyth on the new Wales Coastal Path in just five days. With a very efficient boiler we had an abundance of hot water to soak in on our return. We also loved the huge fridge - so important with a group. The Manager was very welcoming and friendly. So in all a fabulous house in a stunning location. Wendy

I stayed here for my 21st birthday and had the most incredible time. The house was beautifully clean and the pool very warm. The location was ideal and surprisingly easy to find. The only point to note is probably that the wifi is insufficient for 17 people to use. Overall, we had an amazing weekend and I would definitely return again!

What a gorgeous house. We celebrated my husband's 40th and hired out the whole estate. Customer service was second to none: Will answered my emails promptly and patiently and at the house,Graham met us and proudly showed us round-a fabulous greeting after a long drive. Couldn't fault anything-wanted to move in. The house is steeped in history which we all loved learning about and each cottage has its own character. The beds were comfy, the grounds gorgeous and the real fires were very welcome after a walk in the rain and wind. We will definitely return-I want to stay in the Cow Shed next! Highly, highly recommended-everyone has been raving about it! Thanks for having us.

It was quite good for a week long family holiday, and it was in very good condition. It was also very fun to stay in, and I loved the way it had a SWIMMING POOL! - Thea (eight years old)
I liked the swimming pool, and we went on fun walks at night to go stargazing. The house was good for lots of people to stay in, and the benches in the dining room made it easier to vary the amount of people eating at a time, as you don't have to change chairs, or add more. It also had enough beds for about 25 people at a time, including the 2 cottages that each held 4 people in each. The swimming pool is good for the children to play in. It had lots of downstairs space and a games cupboard that was full of board games to play. You can also play other physical games, sardines being a particular favorite between everyone. In summary, it was AMAZEBALLS! - Emily (11 years old!!!)
Llanfendigaid and the cottages were the perfect venue for a very special family holiday. Thank you. John (39).

We booked llanfendigaid and dove cottage for a hen do for 20 people. The photos on the website really don't do it justice. The downstairs living space is huge. There is a drawing room, living room, large kitchen, large dining room and a huge utility, as well as a small room by the stairs and a huge entrance hall.

The house is old and some of the decor matches its age which gives the house a lot of character.

The customer services throughout the booking was brilliant and on arrival we were met by graham who was lovely and gave us all the info we needed.

We booked spa treatments with My personal sanctuary who were recommended by the owners of the house and they were brilliant. We also booked a caterer (Sonia Willard)who was fantastic and very good value for money.

The swimming pool on the estate is a great facility and you can come and go as you please.

The estate is in the middle of no where but that is all part of the experience.its a short drive to the beach and we booked to do paddle boarding in aberdovey which is about a 10 minute drive away.

We intended to have a relaxing weekend away and that is exactly what we got. The accommodation is brilliant value for money and we got so much more than we would have done anywhere else.

We will definitely be going back either in a large group or in smaller groups in the cottages available.

We booked the whole estate so my review covers the House, Stable and Dove cottages. For 17 people we were very comfortable and enjoyed a wonderful week of activities. The house provides an excellent base for these activities giving us plenty of space to have group presentations and discussions. The heart of the House is the kitchen which is well equipped and is ideal for catering for large numbers. This is the best and most comfortabe self catering venue I have used for our leadership courses over the last 30 years. Many thanks Will. I am looking forward taking a family holiday here. There is so much to occupy young grandchildren.

Having outgrown previous holiday houses in Cornwall, we were delighted to find one near the coast in Wales, but were apprehensive about the remoteness and the possibility of a week of rain. Our fears were groundless: even if it had rained all week - which it didn't - the space in the house and grounds and the availability of the indoor pool meant that little groups of adults and children could be occupied in many quiet or noisy ways simultaneously without impinging on each other. Bliss!

Having a dining table large enough to cope with all of us made mealtimes a joy, and having two sitting rooms, one with and one without a TV, saved many arguments.

Lovely area. Being country folk we appreciate the peace.

Llanfendigaid is a lovely old house in a beautiful countryside setting. The perfect place to chill out away from the pressures of everyday life. Good size swimming pool and extensive grounds. The only downside was the cobwebs hanging from light fittings and dusty skirting boards. Apart from that we had a great time.

The house never fails to overwhelm our guests when they first arrive - they can't believe they are fortunate enough to be staying in such a wonderful location, and in a house with so much character. The house offers a perfect blend of comfort and character - it has not been over restored or upgraded and lost what makes it so special - please keep it that way!

This property is ideal for a gathering of friends or family. Excellent location for walkers and/ or cyclists. For best family beach need to travel to Barmouth. Station a 10 minute walk away. Always a personal choice but we couldn't have wished for better.

This was one of our very best family holidays. The house was grand but homely and comfortable. It lent itself very well to cosy chats both outside and in while the younger members of the extended family played murder in the dark, etc. The swimming pool was one reason why we chose this venue, in case of bad weather, but was well used in spite of the glorious weather we experienced.
We loved the view from the top of the hill and all of us climbed it at least once. The surroundings were lovely and we enjoyed the 'request stop' train journey and the narrow gauge railway as well as an expedition up Snowdon for some of us.
The facilities were very good and we have to confess to breaking one of the water glasses - sorry! We loved the fact that we could all sit around the one big dining table and that there was plenty of room for food preparation. We found the electric hob a bit puzzling - some of it didn't seem to work, but perhaps it was just us. Lots of hot water and lovely and warm at night. We only lit the fire once, but the rather soft wood burned away very quickly - as it did on the barbecue (which was a lovely big area too).
The bedrooms were spacious and there was so much storage space that we would have had to bring a removal van of luggage to make use of it all. Most of the beds were huge and very comfortable.
A wonderful, fascinating place in a lovely part of the country. Well done to all concerned.

The house was perfect for our family gathering. The large dinning table was excellent for family meals. Having two lounges was perfect, one for children and the other one for sitting and catching up. The bathrooms was plenty for the amount of people in the house. The two log fires made the rooms warm and cosy. Having the pool was an added bonus for the children. The location was just perfect down a quiet lane with no signal for phones or the Internet-my sort of weekend although the younger ones may not think so!!

Stayed in the house for a hen weekend. It was perfect. Large rooms, lots of space to get together. Comfy beds, pool and beautiful surroundings. The history surrounding the house was also very interesting. The owner and care taker were also very helpful, welcoming and accommodating. Despite being January and cold outside, the house and beds were all warm. We'd all be very happy to go back.

This is our third trip to Llandfendigaid and we have loved every minute of our time there. The beauty and wonder of the area and the house are difficult to capture in words as it is also the people that make it. The house, the staff, the history and the surroundings make it the most treasured place in my family and friends hearts. We hope that our 3 year old daughter will be able to marry there in 2 decades time as we will continue to visit every January until then :-) Thank you Will and Graham. Love from the Powell's x

We spent the weekend at Llanfendigaid and enjoyed every second. The house is beautiful with lots of family history everywhere. The rooms were perfect for our family and the electric blankets were a revelation. The kids loved the pool, going in 2 or 3 times a day. Thank you so much for a fabulous weekend and we will be back soon.

Incredible house set in some of the most beautiful countryside the UK has to offer. The local beaches are well worth a visit. The house is well equipped and the beds are incredibly comfortable (plus most are fitted with electric blankets!) A very romantic and magical spot - perfect for a weekend celebration.

As we are such a big family (12 adults and 10 children) we booked all three properties.

We had a wonderful time on this beautiful Estate. The children loved the house, gardens and especially the pool, which was used several times each day.

We thought it was the perfect place for a family get together to celebrate a special occasion.

A fantastic week which was helped by the weather which could not have been better. The facilities in all three properties were excellent work really well for the leadership course we were running. The course members were fascinated by the history of the house and all the memorabilia. The comforts provided make the hard work, and long days they have to endure on the course, easy to bear!
Many thanks to Graham for his cheery help and support.

We were a group of 8 adults 9 kids had a lovely time at llanfendigaid the only complaint would be that the home telephone did not work properly and none of us had mobile signal/network and this was a problem when on the second morning of our stay the fire alarm went off sporadically and its the old fashioned bells ringing on all 3 floors very loudly at 6am, as we could not get hold of the house keeper/caretaker!!! luckily one of our guests was an electrician and able to disconnect it!! also worth saying is its not worth upgrading to the payable wifi for £18 as this hardly ever worked either! the property is gorgeous and the scenery stunning but its a remote location although there station[Tonfanau] was only about a mile away and that was very beneficial for exploring the coastal towns - Barmouth and Aberdovey and pretty journeys too. Just so you are aware no takeaways deliver though and Asda is the only supermarket who will deliver to the house. The rooms were spacious and the log fire a definite must despite us going in August! The grounds and pool [indoor pool was across the road and a must with kids as the weather was temperamental]were lovely and the BBQ area a delight, we were lucky enough to get a few dry evenings to use it. A good group base to explore some of the Welsh sites.

Llanfendigaid was the perfect holiday home for a large family group of three generations, which allowed for morning runs and walking out from the door, swimming, barbecues and playing in the garden. Comfortable beds, some with sea views and plenty hot water. Looking forward to our return visit next year

This is a large old family house in a quiet, remote but lovely location. It can be reached via train via the small station at Tonfanau (10-15 mins walk) - where there is also access to a small beach. It has the added luxury of a small indoor pool. Fresh fruit and vegetables can be purchased from the allotment across the road. We have stayed here as a wider family on a number of occasions in the past and it works really well - the two sitting rooms allow space for adults and the younger generation to do their own thing, although the lack of a TV in the "adult" sitting room was annoying. The large dining room and table which allows everyone to eat togther is brilliant and atmospheric. Since our last visit (6 years ago) the bathrooms and kitchen have been upgraded and improved and basic free wi fi has been added, (although we all opted for the premium service which, at £18 for the week for two devices, seemed a little pricey). There is a small but well stocked Co-op in Tywyn about 5 miles away and a much smaller Spar in BrynCrug for emergencies. Location-wise it is well placed for exploring the surrounding area - the towns of Tywyn (home of the Tal-y-llyn railway) Aberdovy, Barmouth, Machynlleth, Dolgellau are all within an easy drive - and it is also well placed for walking. As an old house, there are the obvious limitations in terms of accessibility and decor but it is a fabulous place and location and comes well recommended.

We had booked Llanfendigaid house for 3 nights over July 4th weekend as a surpirse for my parents as it was their 50th Wedding Anniversary. all they knew was that they would bespending the weekend with their 4 children,9 grandchildren and a few partners. In total there was 19 of us, so we also booked Dove Cottage.
On arrival at the house the only disappointment was the weather, we arrived in rain and low clouds. However on waking on Saturday morning we were met with glorious sunshine which shone for the remainder of our stay.
The house was perfect for our family get together, it was a little bit of a squash around the dining table at breakfast but manageable. We made good use of the BBQ area which had 2 built in grills and a circular seating area.
All the bedrooms were comfortable and well equipped.
There was wifi access but this was only available in a couple of the bedrooms and one of the lounges and was very slow, for the majority of the guests this was not an issue but one of my brothers needed access to the internet as he runs hos own company and needed to respond to a couple of emails during his stay which proved to be a little difficult for him.
My only other complaint would be that we had paid extra for exclusive use of the wonderful indoor pool - this meant that the Caravan Club could not use the site for the weekend, however it did not bar the couple in stable cottage having access to the pool during their stay - i'm sure they didn't have to pay a premium for this and it did dampen our enjoyment at the pool but only slightly.
Overall it was a fantastic weekend with plenty to do in the area

Having stayed at Llanfendigaid ten years in succession in the late 80s and 90s, our three families (friends from college days) returned in 2010, and this year to enjoy this beautifully located old house. Since our last visit in 2010, Llanfendigaid has undergone a number of big improvements, notably the bathrooms and kitchen. While these are most welcome, we still love the old-world feel of the place, so full of interesting things to see and do. The gardens and surrounding countryside are a joy - anyone who appreciates wildlife and scenery will not be disappointed. Having brought the third as well as the second generation, the crowning glory - some might say saviour - was the excellent indoor swimming pool. We were very impressed with the friendly, helpful and unobtrusive way our stay was handled. The new management set-up is an asset, all credit to Graham. At some stage in the not-too-distant future, we hope to visit Llanfendigaid again!

Dear Will

I've been meaning to email all week, but work has been very hectic and this is the first chance I have had. Just to say a huge thank you for opening up such a wonderful house. We had such a lovely time, it was so relaxing and the house has such a great atmosphere and steeped in history too. I can't put into words how much I loved it; I loved everything about it and the two cottages were just the job too. I would go again every weekend given the chance. We didn't do much walking or going out, we didn't need to the weather was so kind to us we just hung around together in the big house and garden. Which was really all we wanted to do.

My niece may have had an encounter with the ghost; she's not sure, but there are one or two things she can't work out....

We are four families with grown up children and grandchildren that like to meet up on a regular basis and rent a cottage big enough for us all to get together under one roof. The Llanfendigaid estate and cottages were ideal for us. I would like to say how much we enjoyed the weekend we spent at Llanfendigaid estate, the house and cottage were both excellent and the swimming pool was the crowning glory, I would also like you to pass on my thanks to Graham (Estate manager) he was very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about the estate and surrounding areas.

The house is splendid, situated in a lovely garden, with fine views of the sea. We enjoyed the paintings and ;portraits, and found the family history very interesting. The family and friends (ranging from 80 to 4 months) were all comfortable and warm, and found the kitchen well-equipped for self-catering. Most of us enjoyed a few swims - the baby had his first dip! Lots of attractive walks nearby, and places to visit within easy reach.

Graham was very pleasant and helpful.

We organised a get together for a group of friends for something different & this was an amazing weekend away together all under one roof !!! The house was massive and plenty of room for a large group, also the pool was a great added extra. Would recommend the local beach of Tywyn for a little day out. Also a big help for us was ordering from the local Asda and getting this delivered on day one - saved messing about going shopping along the way.

A weekend we will always remember :)

Loved this house. 14 of us stayed for the Christmas week and it was perfect. So comfortable and steeped in history. The swimming pools was warm. The log burners in the lounges worked a treat for both atmosphere and warmth.
Electric blankets on the beds and very snuggly duvets.
When it came to leaving everyone felt that they could of easily stayed another week.

The property is rich with history. The house is well kitted. Rooms are very comfy (with electric blankets). The house has good heating system and fire places in 2 of the sitting rooms. Lovely long dining table to fit a large family. The heated pool kept the children happy. Kitchen is super for baking and cooking. There were enough dish pans, plates, cooking utensils etc to cater to a big family. Most importantly, the owner of the property is very accommodating and was happy that we all enjoyed our stay. This is a place you want to come back to again!

I would have no hesitation in recommending Llanfendigaid as a truly excellent holiday home, and the shared swimming pool was the icing on the cake.

We frequently sat outside in the evenings and simply revelled in the beauty of the surroundings, and in the peace and quiet.

We rented the 3 properties for a leadership course for a group of managers. The location is absolutely perfect for this, the accommodation is just what we were looking for, the kitchen is perfectly laid out and kitted out for our requirements. Our delegates loved the little touches that made our stay so good and enjoyed the country house feel antique furniture. We look forward to booking llanfendigaid again.

It took a long while to find the ideal location for our big event and our large family.
Llanfendigaid proved to be ideal. Great house, lovely grounds, the indoor pool was a big hit with the Grandchildren.
The rooms are spacious, the dining room and kitchen comfortably dealt with a party of 18. Lovely beds. The hot water never ran out.
The location is perfect for exploring Snowdonia and surrounds.
Fond memories.
