The two of us had a wonderful stay at Stable cottage with our dogs.
The cottage was very comfortable with everything that you need for a pleasurable stay. The cottage was clean and beautifully presented.
Directions took us to the door and access was straight forward.
We used the pool twice and it was perfect for an afternoon / evening swim.
The local rail station is about a mile away on foot and allows access along the coast. We used it to travel with our dogs instead of driving.
Emma and Jay were wonderful hosts and more than helpful and welcoming.
A lovely time away from the bustle of life!! Excellent

Very pretty cottage, beautifully dressed, immaculately clean and very cozy. Set on a lovely property with gorgeous gardens and spectacular views from the top of the hill directly out to sea, the perfect spot for incredible sunsets. The beach is just a 25 minute walk away. Reluctantly recommend as we want to keep it for ourselves, can’t wait for our return visit, counting the days.

As always a lovely stay for us running our Odyssey week out of here. Thank you!

Unfortunately I wasn't able to be be onsite during the week but the Odyssey team say it was brilliant and they love what you are doing with the place.

A few glitches with the kitchen in the cottage but overall really lovely, comfy and beautifully done out place to stay.

The few glitches - freezer was heavily iced so not much room for food. The fan oven apparently didn't switch on, and the electric oven door did not close properly so they had to use the bin to shut it. Not sure if they reached out in the week about this.

Our stay at Llanfendigaid was a birthday gift from our daughter as she knew that, in all our many world travels, we had never actually stayed in Wales! The cottage was well equipped and comfortable and we slept well at night which, in our late 70s, is very important to us.

The only reason that I give less than five stars is because I was not aware of the stairs which were a difficulty to me as I have quite bad osteoarthritis. We managed, but there is no denying that it was an issue for us, especially as my husband is recovering from shoulder surgery and can only use one arm at present to carry things. The area for car parking is behind the house and one has to walk around two cottages with bags as one cannot drop off at the door. For people without physical health limitations these issues would not be a problem at all, but I think there should be some kind of pre-warning on the details about the parking and the stairs. Walking down to the beach area is not really an option for anyone whose mobility is limited.

However, the owners allowed us to change our booking when a dear friend died and I was asked to take the memorial service. We were grateful for that kindness. Despite the generally wet and somewhat chilly weather - something the whole of the Uk has suffered this year - we enjoyed our break

Really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage is beautiful with stunning views all around.
It’s really hard to find a fault with our stay - I guess the only one is I wish we’d booked longer!

The location was great, so much to see and do and beautiful views from the property. The cottage was cozy and welcoming, the beds super comfortable and the shower was better than mine at home. It was so lovely to be able to enjoy a dog friendly cottage of that standard.

Staying at Stable Cottage/ Llanfendigaid was wonderful. Gorgeous location, and the cottage itself beautifully done up. Very welcoming and cosy. Views from top of the hill took your breath away.

Found the information app very helpful, particularly being able to access it without an Internet connection, so you never felt stuck or unsure about anything. Feel they put a lot of thought into putting everything you would need to know in one simple place with easy
access.

Will be back for sure, still so much to explore!

I booked Stable Cottage for my husbands 50th birthday at my children’s decision. We have stayed in Wales many times but camping so chose a more luxurious stay for a celebration. The cottage is beautiful and sympathetically updated. There is tech that makes the stay more comfortable (the instant boiling water tap, Netflix, wifi) but it is discrete. The cottage is lovely and warm anyway but having the log burner going really is cosy!
The beds are comfortable and rooms airy with lovely views.
Everything we needed was provided - cleaning products, kitchen supplies, toiletries, even board games!
When we had questions they were answered promptly and everyone was friendly and welcoming.
The pool was a great option as the weather in Wales can of course be a little soggy! There were only two other families onsite so we were able to all use the pool separately but how it would work if all units were full i’m not sure.
The local area is stunning, we explored the beaches at Tywin, Aberdovey and Barmouth which are all beautiful and dog friendly. We were out of season so a lot of the local businesses were closed or working at limited opening so worth checking this out. This did mean we had lots of beach space to ourselves which worked out really well for us and the dogs.
Some of the local businesses are cash only (the chinese take away and two Indian take aways as we noticed) there is a fee free cash point at the coop and a chargeable one in the spar.
I would definitely recommend the Llanfendigaid estate without hesitation.

A lovely comfortable cottage in a beautiful location, a great place to relax that is just a short walk from the coast. We had a great short stay in late January, enjoying the terrific scenery and the peaceful atmosphere. The cottage was cosy, clean and well equipped, a pleasure to stay in.

Stable Cottage was perfect, a cosy wood burner, lots of old-world charm, a comfy, spacious bedroom, lovely bathroom, and fully equipped kitchen. When I arrived, the cottage had clearly been cleaned to an extremely high standard. There were lots of logs and kindling provided for the fire which was great, but also, the heating in the cottage works well.

You have lots of beautiful walks on your doorstep. It is great whether you are travelling with a dog, solo, with a family, or in a couple!

We had a fabulous stay over Christmas in this cottage. We were met by Emma who was very friendly and extremely helpful. The cottage itself was clean and cosy. Beds were comfortable , lovely bathroom. We had a Christmas tree in the corner of the room which was an added surprise. The location was perfect for us as we were able to walk without using the car. There was a good supply of logs for the woodburner which we tried out one of the nights, however, it wasn’t really needed as the cottage was so warm. It’s a great place in which you can relax and reset, extremely quiet. Would we stay here again? We certainly would, maybe try one of the other cottages.

I have spent three nights in Stable Cottage and it was absolutely amazing.
I needed few days to escape from my busy life. If you need to recharge and relax on your own, with a group of friends or family party, this place is perfect. Has lots of different accommodation options.
Beautiful surroundings, nature, sea, beach, high quality, stylish furniture and equipment in the cottage, warm and comfortable bed, good night sleep, indoor swimming pool, long walks, peaceful and quiet environment.
Great for intimate retreat.

We had the most relaxing stay on the estate and everything was as good as you can imagine, if not better. The location is peaceful and picturesque, and the night sky is out of this world.

The cottage itself is modern and well kitted with amenities while still giving the feeling of staying in a traditional country side cottage.

The pool was clean, warm and instructions on its use were clear and precise.

We would stay again in a heartbeat.

We stayed 4 nights in Stable Cottage and had a lovely time. The cottage has been decorated beautifully with has everything you need for a short stay. Emma the housekeeper is very friendly and there to help if you have any questions. The owners responded to our message / query immediately.
The swimming pool is a huge bonus which we made the most of everyday.
You do need to drive out a fair distance for any amenities so go prepared, we had a Tesco delivery on arrival.
All in all a lovely stay in a truly beautiful part of the world.

The cottage we stayed in, truly was a hidden gem. Scenic location surrounded by fields and hills (in the distance you can see the sea). The cottage itself is equipped to the highest standard and the use of the pool is a fantastic bonus. Emma welcomed us on arrival - such a wonderful person. It’s a good base to travel out to the local waterfalls and beaches. We are definitely booking again for next year. Thank you Lisa and Garath.

A weekend I will never forget - Llanfendigaid will always have a special place in my heart.

Not only a collection of beautiful buildings in a truly remote and magical location, but each property has been beautifully done up, and carefully considered. The cleaning team are incredible, accommodating and friendly. Lisa, Gareth and the team were extremely responsive and helpful.

The pool is a wonderful addition, as is the BBQ area, and the viewing point at the top of the hill to watch the sun set and the dolphins cruise past!

A wonderful, quiet location. Great for walking and cycling. Lovely, comfortable cottage with everything needed to step off the treadmill and enjoy a truly stressless break.
The bed is enormous and very comfortable - perfect for a good night’s sleep.
I managed to have the swimming pool all to myself on every day of our stay.

We had a fabulous half term in Wales at Stable Cottage - it was everything we had hoped and more. Beautifully situated near the coast with everything we could need for a self catered holiday. The facilities in the cottage were recently refurbished and really lovely - including a washing machine which was much appreciated given my children do get through clothes..! The swimming pool was a real bonus for the children and just the right temperature. There is so much to do in the area and the beach easily in walking distance. Lisa was always on hand to help with anything we needed and knowledgeable about the area. The cottage app was very useful too. We have already booked to return next year!

We had an amazing time at The Llanfendigaid Estate. The Stable Cottage we stayed in was perfectly clean and exquisitely decorated, with top quality fixtures and fittings. The fenced area outside was perfect as allowed our dog Winston to enjoy relaxing in the sun, too. We enjoyed exploring the grounds and watching the sun go down over the sea - a perfect few days away, would highly recommend. Clean and comfortable cottage. Loved the pool for my morning swim. Set in the countryside. Station 20min walk takes you up and down the coast.

A fabulous week stay at Stable Cottage, lovely warm welcome when we arrived. The cottage was immaculate and beautifully decorated and every room was warm and cosy. Free wood supplied for the fire was a huge bonus. Excellent facilities and wonderfully refurbished swimming pool. Close to many local amenities and near to some gorgeous beaches. Breathtaking scenery in a quiet, relaxing location. Highly recommend

The cottage is lovely. Well maintained and very clean.
A lot of care has gone into making the cottage comfortable. The hosts are very helpful.
It was great to be able to walk to the beach.
Just a word of note...take all the food and drink that you will need. You are not within walking distance to a shop or pub.

You are right about there not being a local shop but that is part of the beauty of the location. Tywyn is the nearest option and is 15 mins by car or 15 mins on bike (along the coast route). The most beautiful cottage in the best location, complete peace and quiet away from the world. We spent Christmas in the stable cottage and the attention to detail for our arrival was just perfect with a real Christmas tree, lights and heating on for arrival late at night got our holiday off to a great start. We never heard or seen another person for 3 nights and its just what we needed to get away from the busy city life. You can hear the ocean from the cottage and its just a short walk away, the cottage itself is in a valley with some short uphill walks that give you the most stunning views of Wales. The owners are just a txt away if you need them and the online guide gives great detail about the cottage & surrounding area. I can't wait to return.

The cottage is in an idyllic location on the edge of Snowdonia and ideal for exploring the stunning scenery. It is well laid out with comfortable furnishings and beds, and being dog friendly ideal for our needs. The owners have only purchased the property recently and some of the statements on the website need amending as they give the impression there are lots of supplies for dogs. Rob the onsite manager is very hands on and extremely helpful when needed. We will definitely return for another visit.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Stable Cottage and the owners tried hard to respond promptly to our queries. Llanfendigaid has alot going for it; especially the lovely pool which was quiet, clean, warm and great for the children. The cottage would benefit from some minor refurbishment but overall excellent. Rarely it is a property I would consider returning to in the future provided the prices are held at a reasonable level.

This holiday was our first UK break for a while and the cottage was pleasant, whilst with a young baby and a dog we found some facilities could do with reviewing. We know the owners are new and are making improvements to the property. The new owners were really accommodating by allowing us to check in early at no additional fee. It really helped us planning our trip.
When we arrived the cottage was clean and tidy, although there we some small shards of glass on the kitchen floor.
This was the first place we have ever stayed where the garden really was secure for a springer spaniel, Charlie always seems to find a way out but he didn't here! It would be good to have a sign on the top gate to remind others to shut it, a couple of times when we went out it was open, although we had shut it previously. It could do with a few little solar lights for when the dog needs to go out early morning/late evening as it is a steep garden. We dont recall the garden being described as being steep and having steps when we booked, it wasn't a problem for us but could be for others.
The bedrooms were comfortable and Edward's parents joined us for one evening and they also said the same. We found it difficult finding enough seating in the living area when there were four adults and a baby but was fine when they went home and it was just 2 adults and a baby. We all found the stools around the breakfast bar uncomfortable to sit and eat. The kitchen had plenty of amenities and good cooking facilities, freezer space was ample. When we have stayed at other cottages of a similar price, basic cooking ingredients have been available (salt, pepper, oil etc) therefore we didn't take those things with us.
The cot provided was good, we were unsure about the location to begin with but our daughter slept fine, the only thing we noticed was that once we had showered it became very humid upstairs (even with the windows open and the bathroom door shut for some time afterwards). The cot was directly by the bathroom which led to the bedclothes feeling damp once we had showered.
The parking has good space but it is very tight for larger cars, getting in and off the parking space.
Overall we had a pleasant stay, we did initially think the beach was nearer than it is but drove to nearby spots instead. The app was a good to support our stay but we would have found leaflets/information inside the property an advantage. We enjoy walking and knew there were lots of paths nearby, guides on this in the property would have been really useful.

Thanks for taking the time to provide a review Sian. Also, sincere thanks for coming to stay with us too. We will take onboard all your comments and we will be making some changes. The basic cooking ingredients were removed during covid by the previous owner. We will be introducing them again in the near future. There are indeed lots of nearby walks (of different distances and levels of difficulty) and we will do more to inform guests of the options. Regarding the seating arrangements for eating then we take your point and it has clearly been configured to make the best use of space. We will look at some very soft, low levels of lighting in the large garden space as we approach winter. As we are in one of eighteen international dark sky reserves in the world, we will have to make sure that we don't in any way spoil the darkness. On a clear night in the winter the milky way can be seen so clearly from Llanfendigaid! We spent a lovely week in Stable Cottage as a family with two children and a dog. It was the perfect size for us, enough room for all our stuff, lovely roomy bedrooms, and the garden is just idyllic, and secure for the dog! The rest of the grounds are wonderful too, the kids loved the tyre rope swing, hammock chair, swimming pool and table tennis, and the short walk to the bench that overlooks fields to the sea. The railway line gets slightly in the way for accessing the beach, but it is a 20 min walk down the quiet country lanes, or a couple of minutes drive to park up at the railway station for crossing the tracks. There's loads to do in the area, we loved crabbing at Aberdyfi, the wonderful beaches in Fairbourne, when the tide is out there is vast sandy areas and the sea was very calm, a short ferry ride to Barmouth and loads of beautiful countryside for walks. We had a fab time and would love to go back.

We had the most wonderful week staying at Stable Cottage. It is the perfect Cottage for a family of four. Quirky, comfortable and very clean. We don't have dogs, but I wouldn't have known that dogs can stay in the property- it was spotless.

Our boys 9 and 6, loved the swimming pool, the gardens, the rope swing, but the highlight was making a fire at the bench, toasting bread and making a lot of memories.

As a family we enjoyed the 15 minute walk to the beach, which was pretty much our own private beach for the week. We walked along the beach to the right to a lovely sandy area- which was huge when the tide was out.

We also enjoyed walking to the train station flagging down a train for a day in Barmouth. Our car only moved once in the week.

Staying at Stable Cottage was the most relaxing week. We had everything we needed and are looking forward to returning in the future.

The cottage is located in a beautiful and very quiet location. There is a wonderful panoramic atview of Cardigan Bay just a short climb at the rear. On arrival, the access through the gate posts was tight. Turning to park my car I did scrape my car on a wall and this was the start to our visit I did not want!
My wife and I are in our seventies and the spiral staircase inside was more suited for younger visitors. The floor of the stair case was painted wood and should, ideally, have some carpet fitted due to its slipperiness.
The bedrooms were very good and spacious. The bathroom was warm, bright and airy. The shower was very noisy and difficult to control. The plug in the sink also did not hold water.
The kitchen was fine with everything that was required for a short stay. A large wood burning stove was really effective and there were plenty of logs available. Freesat TV worked well. Mobile phone signal was very poor.
Having said that, we had a lovely stay.

We stayed at Stable Cottage in February and our friends were on the adjacent campsite. The cottage was warm, comfortable and well kept. It was period and so did not have the spotless rooms of a modern building, but was clean and well equipped. The indoor pool and table tennis were an added bonus and kept us amused when very little was open in February around the area. Graham was very helpful and accommodating. The location is stunning, the countryside is magnificent and the walk into Tywyn is well worth doing - for the walk. less for the town! (although we cheated and caught the train back.) We were also able to drive out to some beautiful destinations including Sygun copper mines and Betws-y-coen.

Plenty of kitchen items, pots, pans, utensils etc.

A nice cottage, very smart and clean. As I developed severe hip pain, which necessitated two sticks for any walking at all, on my journey to Wales the stairs in the cottage were unusable for me. I think potential guests should be warned as to the state of access. The stars are steep very narrow and would present serious difficulty for anyone with limited mobility. I could not even try the stairs. I enjoyed my stay as my family permitted me to stay in the Cow shed with them. As a result of the rest my hip is slowly improving but now under investigation.

Lovely cottage, excellent location, well set up for dogs. Good outside space to dump your wellies and stuff. Layout of the cottage well thought out, heating good, beds comfortable. Bed linen and towels fresh and good quality.
Graham, site manager very helpful and visible - nothing too much trouble. Pool access a real bonus when you've children wanting to do something in the evening.
My only grumble would be the cleanliness which I've rated as average - but I must mention that I am very particular in this area. I read in the particulars that 5 hours of cleaning is allowed between changovers, which for the size of the cottage is more than adequate for a thorough clean however there were a few things which suggested the clean (perhaps only on this particular occasion) wasn't very thorough. Specifically - a towel from previous guests left hanging behind the door in the twin room, a dummy under the cot from a previous inhabitant, a tubi-grip bandage, a bottle top and a used tissue on top of the fitted wardrobes in the double room. In general, the cottage would benefit from a good de-cobweb (beams in the lounge and above the double bed - which I did the next day as couldn't bear looking at them - as I said I'm a bit particular). Also, a general degrease from the top of the microwave, cooker hood and magnetic knife rack are needed.
Having picked at a few minor things regarding cleanliness, it didn't spoil the stay and I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
Shame there isn't a pub in walking distance though!

This is the third time we have been to The Stable cottage. It is relaxed, cosy and very peaceful. The team are always so lovely and helpful, it makes the whole experience very easy. We were absolutely delighted with our stay on the Llanfendigaid Estate, in Stable Cottage. The cottage was really a 'home from home', and we were able to relax completely without a care in the world. The cottage was very well appointed, and we had everything we needed, and we were able to do quite a bit of a elaborate cooking and baking! The bedroom was very calming, with a comfortable bed, and great shower next door. A particular highlight was the use of the heated swimming pool, which we very much enjoyed during our stay. The location was absolutely perfect; nestled in the hills, but very close to the sea, and also only 15 minutes' walk to the railway halt at Tonfanau, with easy access to Tywyn, Barmouth, Fairbourne, etc. The fields of newborn lambs surrounding the cottage were a delight (a definite benefit to holidaying at this time of year!). Graham was very friendly and on hand to help - great service. We will be back!

Llanfendigaid is set in a tranquil rural setting close to the sea. It is free from background noise, light pollution and the local area (Tywyn & Fairbourne) provides a step back in time with livestock farming, forestry and a range of shops that provides very well for everyday needs. Stable Cottage provides a good standard of accommodation, particularly well suited to walkers and those with a dog. Adjacent footpaths and beaches are easily accessible. The centre manager is both welcoming and helpful; the information folder provided in the cottage is interesting. However, this would benefit from updating! There does not appear to be an inventory and although the kitchen is generally well equipped, the provision of just one small saucepan and the absence of a measuring jug was frustrating. Unfortunately, some aspects of basic housekeeping are overlooked, such as thick cobwebs in the fireplace, plug not working in bathroom sink, no cover on upstairs toilet and cupboard doors in need of adjustment!
I will make further visits to Llanfendigaid, but the estate would benefit from a bit of TLC and attention to detail in order to reach the premier standards presented in the promotional ivideo and literature.

Ill at ease in a big mansion, I felt instantly at home in Stable Cottage. A spacious porch lets you leave all your wet stuff (it is Wales) outside to drip in shelter. The broad hallway generously accommodates whatever might still be dry while discreetly allowing you to dive off into the toilet and washroom hidden under the stairs, before letting on to a well-equipped kitchen and sitting room to the right, or left up to the first floor. Here twin, generous double and bathroom are neutrally decorated. Clean, rustic simplicity with just enough comfort is the theme throughout - allergy sufferers will swoon with anticipation of a clean night's sleep without a rug, sheepskin, carpet or wing-back armchair anywhere within breathing distance. Well, I did. A heated towel rail and low-energy outside lamp are the only concessions to modernity, and well chosen. The night out there is darker than you remember if you're a city dweller, and you'll appreciate being guided back to your warm cottage with nothing but the steady wind in the pines for a soundtrack.

This is a very tranquil spot, and the cottage is nicely furnished/designed. Nice pool facility too. Perfect for a family who don't mind coming off their gadgets for a bit and actually spending some quality time together outdoors or in. A bit isolated from civilisation, but this is part of the charm. Get to grips with the train and you will find this reduces a lot of driving. Great for a dog who loves chasing rabbits (and squirrels) but be careful around the sheep as they do bolt sometimes. It's also a bit of a shame you can't access the beach from the house; the railway line and erosion have made it too difficult. However, it's worth climbing the hill behind the house not only for the view, but to watch the red kites circle at their level.

Had a fabulous week in the Stables Cottage with our 2 youngs boys. They loved exploring the estate and spent a lot of time in the heated pool! Not too far from the train and beach we had a lot on our doorstep and it proved a good location to explore the area. Had lovely BBQs in the garden with views of the estate. We had everything we needed and would stay again next time we come to Wales.

This is an amazing place to stay. The whole place is so peaceful and teeming with wildlife yet close to many local beauty spots. Graham, the manager, gave us such a wonderful warm welcome and the cottage was just a gem, a very quirky barn conversion which seemed deceptively simple but had absolutely everything we needed. We had a dog with us and there is a very generous totally enclosed garden with this property which was ideal. The pool which is housed in a stone building was a big bonus as the weather was warm and we made full use of it. Definitely one to visit!

What a great week we all had in Dove cottage & Stable cottage, home from home feeling, everything we needed to make the stay comfortable, location was great, wildlife was great, from the nosey squirrel to the dove hiding away and playing with its plastic jug, great to see, on site staff were absolutely brilliant, the swimming pool was an added bonus, after being out all day it was great to come back and have access to the pool for a swim.

We very much enjoyed the ‘Llanfendigaid Experience’ of being able to wander around the grounds and sit outside when it was sunny: the swimming pool was a bonus. Stable cottage was charming, comfortable and very clean. The beds and bedlinen were good quality and very comfortable. It did lack a few extra comforts, such as a cosy rug in the living room, better rugs in the bedrooms and the crockery, glasses and serving dishes etc were basic, there was a wooden fruit bowl but no salad bowl! Thank you to Graham and staff for looking after us.

A cosy cottage with everything a family could need. The well equipped kitchen included an, unexpected, dishwasher as it wasn't mentioned on the property website description & a sizable fridge with small icebox for frozen necessities. The TV doubled as a radio when music was required. An onsite payphone resolved the issue of no mobile signal & using WhatsApp & email allowed people to contact us.

We stayed here 22 years ago and have great memories from then. Since then we have found family locally and this makes it more special for us. Easy to get on the train if you don't want to drive. We have summer weather too!
We loved the conversion, it was neat to be in a one room space for eating, talking and tv etc. Bedrooms were good as was the bathroom, plenty of light and loads of equipment - you could stay a year.
Nice to have a big garden for dogs and lots of consideration for them.
We will be back.

Our 3rd year at stable cottage and can honestly say we love it there. Lovely location and great , cosy little cottage with everything you need. Tywyn just a 3mile walk along the coastal path or 7-8 mins drive for anything else you need.
The pool is immaculate and is of a perfect temperature all the time.

We hired the entire Estate for a large party of us for a week over New Years. We've spend one week in the Stable Cottage.
The cottage is spacious for 4 persons and provide enough capacity for luggage and clothes.
The area around the cottage is really beautiful. The estate and the landscape gives you a feeling of living in the country in the past with the comfort of a new house.
The kitchen has everything you need.
Graham, the property manager, is very friendly and gave us good support when we had problems with our car.

A cosy cottage in a converted farmyard. We enjoyed our stay and were very happy with the accomodation, although I do have the scars on my head to show for the low ceilings/door frames!
There is no mobile signal at all in this location. Broadband (via satellite) is provided but is slow and can't be relied upon (we couldn't add more than one phone to it and it seemed to completely grind to a halt for days at a time - coinciding with the big house being occupied?) However, connectivity isn't generally why you would choose to holiday in such a rural location, so we just looked on it as part of the charm of the place.
Our 4 year old loved the private pool which we had completely to ourselves. The beach nearby isn't great but Aberdovey isn't far away and is lovely. The train station within walking distance (even for a 4yr old - just) was very handy for heading to Barmouth or further afield, although with 2 or 3 rainy days in a row you find yourself doing 2hr+ round trips in the car in search of entertainment as the location is really quite remote. We had certainly exhausted most of our ideas after a week of mixed weather, although without small children would have happily stayed a few more days. Overall a very happy holiday was had.

Kitchen is well equipped and the log burner made for cosy evenings.The heated indoor pool was a great hit with 1 year old Daisy, her parents and grandparents. Great walks with fabulous views of Cardigan Bay (complete with dolphins), The cottage is ideally placed for visiting Tywyn or Barmouth and the great little trains of Wales (Tal-y-llyn and Fairbourne railways). We're already planning for a return visit next year

We loved staying at this cottage. It was clean and well equipped, and we appreciated the dog bed and other items provided for our dog. Stair gates were very useful. There were plenty of cooking utensils.
Graham and Will were really helpful and welcoming, all queries dealt with immediately.
The surroundings are wonderful and it was a really relaxing holiday. The children loved the tyre swing, and we made good use of the swimming pool which was warm. We also used the BBQ and enjoyed being able to sit out surrounded by the hills and sheep.
There is plenty to see in the area and the cottage is close enough to beaches, castles, walks and lakes. We also went on the steam railway.

We hired the whole of the estate to celebrate our birthdays with friends. We had a wonderful time. The cottages and house were clean, comfortable and well stocked good facilities for self catering. The swimming pool was great. All the cottages were lovely and the house had such character and atmosphere that it made everything special. The grounds and surrounding area were very peaceful. This is the fourth week that we've spent at Stable Cottage over the last couple of years and once again this did not disappoint. As ever the pre arrive organisation was great and the site manager was on hand to welcome us. As is to be expected with a rental property, occasionally there needs to be running repairs i.e. A tap needed fixing and with was explained to us and dealt with promptly. We brought a dog with us this time and she loved exploring the area which is contained by tasteful fencing. Also a nice touch is that blankets were provided along with some other dog toys and a dog tag for say that the dog was staying at this address which was a nice touch.

There's lots to do in the area especially if you are an outdoor type of person and the onsite swimming pool was a big hit with out 5 year old daughter.

We've already booked for next year.

We had a wonderful holiday staying at the lovely Stable Cottage. We had a lovely warm welcome, the location was perfect and the cottage was immaculate. The cottage was everything we were looking for, relaxing and cosy, and having a pool available was a huge bonus. We took Stable Cottage as an addition to the house, as our family has become too large, and everybody still wants to come. It was a peaceful haven, where we couldn't hear the younger children waking in the morning. Great!

A lovely cottage with good facilities, great for kids and dogs! Graham, who manages the site, is very friendly and helpful. The cottage was presented very well, was very clean, and the beds were excellent. Well equipped kitchen with excellent range cooker. A shower in the bathroom would be useful (although there's loads of hot water for baths) but there is a 'pay for' shower next to the swimming pool, the pool being shared with others. Kids loved the pool which was clean and warm.

We had a wonderful week in Stable Cottage. The cottage is decorated to a very high standard and the kitchen facilities were very good. It was one of the more homely and relaxing cottages we have been in.
Lovely walks for us and the dogs straight from the cottage. The pool was lovely and the kids really enjoyed it.
It was a super base for exploring that part of Wales and there is a lot to do within a short drive.
Graham was really helpful. Only shortcoming was the lack of a shower.
We would definitely return.

Lovely cottage in a great location for exploring the Cardigan Bay area of the west coast of Wales. Huge comfortable bed in the master bedroom, with comfortable looking twin (although that was not used). Clean and functional bathroom, although no shower. Great kitchen with huge fridge and all the utensils and pots / pans you could need. Comfortable living room with board games, freeview and dvd player for any rainy days. Note of warning to anybody staying who needs to keep in touch with home / work - absolutely no mobile phone signal and the wifi advertised is limited to a certain amount of data. Pay as you go at £3 for 256MB once initial allowance is used. No phone signal on either EE or O2 and landline is password protected. Great indoor swimming pool. Asda deliver to the area, so well worth organising for your shopping to be delivered. Nearest shops are a 15 minute drive away. Enclosed garden advertised is on higher ground than the front entrance, up a series of uneven steps, so a little bit treacherous for anybody who is not steady on their feet or for very young children, but fine for the dog. Great downstairs utility room / toilet for washing clothes after messy days out! Would definitely recommend.

Thanks for your lovely review and so pleased you enjoyed your stay. I'm afraid we are restricted to providing a broadband service via satellite which is only viable if we charge for using it. It is pretty fast (30mbs) which is good but theoretically can get through £5,000 per week! I'm still badgering BT and hoping that they will turn up with working broadband over a landline but no luck yet. I am shortly going to be installing enterprise call VoIP phones which I hope will sort out the telephone side of it at least by the time you return!

My family and I returned to Llanfendigaid for a short break at the end of the Easter holidays. Once again we loved our stay; the swimming pool being a great hit with my two young boys and scootering down the road everyday.
Toasting marshmallows over the fire pit whilst the sun was setting was just delightful.
A great spot with a wonderful coastal cottage, we shall definitely return.

Our recent stay at Stable Cottage, Llanfendigaid was wonderful. Our party consisted of 3 adults and 2 dogs and it suited all of us. Upon arrival we had a lovely welcome and Graham was very helpful throughout our stay.


Stable cottage was comfortable and perfectly homely and we settled into relaxation mode straight away and had fun exploring the gardens and taking in the most beautiful setting. Walking down the lane to the beach just hit all the senses! The fact that there is also a small train stop so near is just an added bonus, either for getting around or for simply enjoying a train journey.

A very special place and it suited all of us, and we would definitely like to go back again - soon!!!

As we are such a big family (12 adults and 10 children) we booked all three properties.

Stable cottage was used by my youngest daughter and her husband, and they really enjoyed their stay. The beds in all properties were extremely comfortable.

We enjoyed the "shabby chic" decor.

We stayed at Stable Cottage for 5 nights just as 2014's Indian Summer coming to an end.

The good things: quiet location, lots of places to walk (short walk across fields down lane to the sea for starters), cosy evenings with log fire, no phone signal, pool, electric blanket, and more...

Not so good things: no shower (difficult to wash hair), weak/slow internet access, wild storm caused temporary power outages but log fires keep working.

Don't know if we'll come back but would like to.

This is our second visit this year and we didn't think twice aboiut rebooking as we and our 3 year old daughter loved it and the surrounding area. Stable cottage is well appointed and comfortable and the onsite swimming pool is great for our daughter.

The cottage was fine. It could have been a lot cleaner. The kitchen and bathroom were clean. There were clumps of dog hair under the bar stools which I vacuumed, a dirty tissue under the sofa and a lot of cobwebs and both dead and alive spiders. Their cleaners need to move things when cleaning and not just clean around them.
I hadn't realised that there was no table and chairs to eat at - just a kitchen counter and bar stools. Not practical with a 4 year old although the property is marketed as family friendly.
The swimming pool was okay but no facilities to change or shower at the pool. The water was also a bit on the cool side which put us off using it.
Graham was perfectly friendly and helpful.
They have recently put a new oven in and need to invest in some new oven trays as the ones in the cupboard don't fit the oven.

We stayed in the cottage as part of a larger (21 bodies) group in the main house.

This was a re-visit from 4 years ago having stayed at Llanfendigaid for 10 years running in the late 80's and early 90's. We now have children's partners and their own children in tow !!

Another great week, the weather behaved itself (mainly) and all the childhood attractions were returned to as well. Tonfanau Beach BBQ, Aberdovey beach, the train, estuary walks, Cader Idris, and golf at Aberdovey.

The accommodation was brilliant and we approve of all the modernisations undertaken but in keeping with the original character of the house. The swimming pool is an added bonus and a boon when trying to keep youngsters occupied. The wifi is slow but this understandable given the area.

The stable is well equipped with good quality items.

It was a bit of a punt in the back when we booked this place as it was done entirely from the website/ internet. However as if fitted the criteria of 'woodburner/ wifi' and the reviews seems good, we paid our money.

In short it was a cracking find set in a beautiful area. We stayed in Stable Cottage which we found to be very comfortable and equipped to a good standard. The facilities are very good and our young daughter (2.5 years) loved running around exploring. The owner (Will) and the site manager (Graham) were very helpful and were keen to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. It would appear that a 4 property will be added soon as one of the outbuilding is being converted into another holiday let.

In short and with a nod to 'Arnie': we'll be back!

The Stable Cottage was rented along with Llenfendigaid Estate. This was meant to put our two sets of friends who flew all the way from Washington DC (top exec from IMF) and his partner who flew all the way from the Philippines to celebrate with us our wedding anniversary. Another couple joined us for just a night, brought their 1 small lovely, well behaved dog.

The cottage behind our property was meant to separate them from the noisy children, and give them privacy. They loved everything about the Stable Cottage. Modern and well kitted. They had a lovely time walking around the area and took many lovely photographs. They joined us during meal time and during the day, they explored the nearby places by car. In the evening, it was nice to have wine, cheese and crackers as we chatted by the fire place with soft music in the background, or played scrabble at the dining room. They had fun and privacy unplugged at the cottage!
