Our Clayton Lodge is situated in a five-star holiday park that’s set amongst 100 acres of the beautiful Eden Valley in rural North East Fife. It’s the perfect location to relax and unwind, as well as explore the local area, which includes St Andrews and the stunning Fife coastline

We really enjoyed our break at Clayton Lodge. Very comfortable.
We didn’t explore St Andrews much as it didn’t seem accessible. We really enjoyed visiting Dundee and went twice to visit the V&A and the contemporary arts centre. There is a great riverside walk in Dundee which was great with my power chair and fabulous views.

Despite my illness not being so advanced that I needed all the facilities offered, it was clear the attention to detail would cover many of the circumstances mnd sufferers could face.

Although all the facilities have a function in mind the lodge was nevertheless homely and comfortable. Although only my wife and I stayed, the ability to be able to take family or friends is a good feature that will allow families to enjoy a break where everyone was included.

Clayton Lodge was just what our family needed following my MND diagnosis. The lodge and all facilities on the site were excellent.
Being able to be together as a family gave my husband respite, while allowing us to have time together with the family who took on the daily stresses we now face.

Having stayed at the Tralee Bay property we were expecting the same lodge but the layout was quite different and not as good. There was not enough room in the dining/ sitting area for the wheelchair and it felt cramped. We also felt the bedroom layout was strange with 3 adapted beds in one room. This layout did not work so well for us. Good wet room but we found the shower chair too low which made it difficult to get out of without the hoist. The kitchen was a lot better equipped than Tralee which was great!
We found the site too big and there was no outlook or walks from the lodge as other lodges are very close by. The setting of Tralee lodge was better with nice walks from the lodge but the location of Clayton was good - close to St Andrews etc. I note there is another site closer to St Andrews with amazing cliff top views. That would be a fantastic spot for the MND lodge in my opinion - especially if getting out and about is getting tricky.
The information folder needs updated and was lacking useful information on the surrounding area. We have left up to date Leaflets re the Hamish foundation charity that loan out wheelchairs for beach access. This was BRILLIANT! We had a great time at the beach thanks to this charity.
We also had a great day out in Dundee visiting V&A and verdant works - both accessible with understanding and caring staff.

Really enjoyed our stay however we had to cut it short as I found the beds extremely uncomfortable and could not get a good night's sleep. Could not access the double bed from the left hand side which was the more comfortable of the two and I could not move myself over to that side without great difficulty.

This was our second stay at Clayton Lodge and as before found it in immaculate condition. It has everything you could need and more. The caravan park is lovely and so tidy. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times and the food was great. The only downside is the on site shop. It has loads of useless things and not many essential items. We really enjoyed our stay.

Pity that dogs weren’t allowed. We had to have separate ngts staying. As myself and daughter have the dogs. Even charge for them to stay. We had a good time the ngts we were there. I went to the pool. Cost £7. But was nice.

Thank you for your review. At the moment allowing dogs is not something we can manage due to the costs of deep cleaning and the time that takes between visits and we have a one day turn over so the cleaners only have about 6 hours before the next guests arrive. But we appreciate your feedback and maybe something we can look into again in the future. I'm glad you had a good time.

Loved our holiday.

A guest book would be good in the Lodge. All areas were clean except kitchen area. Fridge and freezer door did not shut properly at times. Toilet roll holders too flimsy for people with disabilities. A nice bench on circular area would be a good idea.

Had a lovely stay at Clayton Lodge with our family. The location on site is ideal and the good weather was a bonus as we were able to make use of the patio area at the lodge. It was a pleasant ten minute journey in the wheelchair to the restaurant and bar. The outside bar area was relaxed and easily accessed. The swimming pool, crazy golf and play areas were ideal for entertaining members of the family. There is a regular bus service into St. Andrews from the bus stop at the entrance to the caravan park. Although we did not use this with the wheelchair, but preferred to drive in to St. Andrews, we had no trouble finding disabled parking spaces even although St Andrews was quite busy. The only problem we had in St. Andrews was that we could not access the public toilets as the entrance door was too narrow for the wheelchair.

The MND Lodge was very comfortable for my family 5 adults and 2 children. The Lodge is fitted out to be fully accessible for wheelchair users and it was a bonus having WiFi.
Clayton caravan site has excellent facilities for both adults and children. Staff on site are very pleasant and helpful.
I would highly recommend staying at the MND LODGE as we could not fault it in anyway.

We have just finished another stay at the lodge this is our fifth time coming my dad loves it here he feels so relaxed and at home the lodge itself is so well kitted out for MND sufferers and family alike. The Curial park itself is spotless and the staff in the restaurant and bar are lovely and so helpful. We look forward to coming back in the future all being well.

We had a lovely long weekend at the lodge. The equipment that was required was great and makes the stay so much easier. It was nice to see that the lodge has been refreshed. My only observation was the dining table was a strange choice , the chairs are a bit low and you can't really relax in them. It is not a complaint just an observation. We had a fantastic break and look forward to another one soon

Such a perfect accommodation for a short break with mum - they have thought of everything! From the living room chair to wet room it was perfect for her and the rest of family to get away. Onsite swimming pool, golf and games room kept the kids happy and it’s only 15min from St Andrews.
Thanks for letting us hire Clayton Lodge.

My family and I returned from a week’s holiday at Clayton Lodge a few days ago. The lodge is perfect, it is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and has almost everything needed to make it excellent accessible accommodation fo those with a disability. The beds were so comfortable we all slept well. My granddaughters in particular loved the decking area outside as we could close the gate to make it aecure for the youngest (23 months ) who had an absolute ball having the freedom to
run up and down and play outside.

The holiday park itself is extremely well cared for and has everything needed for a perfect family get away. We made use of the soft play, play park, swimming pool, the small amusement arcade, restaurant and bar and have no faults with any. I really hope to be able to make a return visit.

Chalet situated in quiet well maintained area of site. Bar and restaurant on site plus other facilities. I am writing this review on behalf of my partner Anne who is the person with MND. We have previously stayed in the chalet at Tralee bay, Oban. On arrival I had to move furniture around as the riser /recline chair was facing away from the wall to which the TV was mounted. The eating area is a folding table with I believe some stools stored underneath and if put up left very little space to manoeuvre a wheelchair around without re-positioning other furniture. We did not use this table as we ate out each evening.I personally found settee not very comfortable, Anne said riser/recliner chair was comfortable. In the pack it says that this property sleeps 7 people, I would suggest 5 max. The password for the wi-fi in pack was incorrect, correct password found on card on top of router. Number for combination lock on shed not in info pack but was found on a notice next to single profiling bed. Compared to chalet at Tralee bay I would suggest Tralee bay has a better internal layout and better seating arrangements. Both chalets I would suggest are for a max of 5 people. We appreciate that MND affects people in many different ways but for ourselves we found the Tralee bay chalet an easier property to use.

Thank you for your kind review and your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you found the sofa not very comfortable we will look into this on our next site inspection. The fold up table was installed after a consultation with MND nurse who suggested we free up as much of the floor space as we could, but if this is not working we will look at moving it to a better position but as we are restricted with space within the lodge this may be hard. Again the TV was installed on the wall for the same reason and the riser recliner has wheels so this can be moved to suit the guests. I am sorry that the email password was incorrect this has been rectified and the code for the garden shed padlock was on the info pack which you should have received although it was very small we have moved this to the top of the equipment section. We do specify when someone is looking to book the lodge that it is suitable for up to 7 persons (5x adults and 2x children) Many Thanks MND Scotland Team

Thanks so much for making this Lodge available to us. As my condition changes it gets more difficult to find suitable accommodation that suits my needs. The Clayton Lodge provided everything we needed and more. The Lodge was spotlessly clean with plenty of towels and extra bedding. We loved the cosy throws that were also provided. The weather was so lovely when we were there we took full advantage of the lovely furniture on the decking. We had such an amazing time there and can’t thank you enough. We can’t wait to go back.
