Tralee Lodge
The chalet is located in the Tralee Bay Holiday Park, which is nine miles north of Oban. The holiday park sits next to the beach at Ardmucknish Bay. There are lots of scenic coastal drives nearby, which are perfect for getting to many beautiful and historic sites.

We were delighted with the space inside and out, and the accessibility. The chalet is well equipped and comfortable. WiFi in the chalet is excellent. Overall very pleasant stay. Thank you!

My wife was diagnosed with MND last July and we decided to take a weeks holiday at the Chalet this last week and we were simply amazed by the standard, cleanliness and tranquility of the lodge. My wife had a permanent smile on her face and she really enjoyed the break despite her diagnosis. We had a truly wonderful time.

We arrived before 6pm and checking in was swift and easy. The lodge is right opposite reception, situated in a quiet area. A ramp ensures easy access to the rear of the lodge where the main door is situated. I was able to manoeuvre my big powerchair inside with ease. You enter into the dining area off which the lounge area and kitchen are conveniently situated. I used my rollator once inside, but a normal powerchair would be able to manoeuvre to all areas I think.
The lodge is exceptionally well equipped for anyone with MND from the power adjustable bed with hoist to the bathroom if required. One thing I found invaluable was the riser/recliner chair in the living room which allowed me to stand more easily. There is a manual wheelchair and a shower chair if required. The Closomat toilet is a real bonus!
The kitchen is very well equipped, including a washer/drier. We had some ready meals, and also the on site fish and chip shop was a real bonus. I couldn’t sit at the dining table as I need to haul myself up with my arms and table and chairs are insubstantial. I ate from the table provided with the recliner which was excellent.
To the rear of the property is an excellent decking area with table and seating.
The holiday park is extensive but we didn’t feel overlooked, and the whole place is kept neat and tidy. We explored the area close to the holiday park which had a good woodland walk and a path leading down to the sea and slipway. The views are fantastic. There is a lovely beach nearby. Because I had an all-terrain powerchair, I was able to access both the woodland and the beach which made our holiday special.
If you go out and about further afield you will be wowed by the unfolding scenery at every turn. Spectacular!

We had a fantastic time at Tralee Bay and very grateful to MND Scotland. After months of tests and investigations this break was very much appreciated after my diagnosis.
We appreciated the peace and tranquility of the site and access to sea views.
The location enabled us to explore the area. We used the local cycle paths as they were wheelchair friendly.
I also went on the Scot Rail train ride from Fort William to Mallaig which is possibly the most beautiful train ride I’ve ever been on. The rail staff were fabulous and helpful.
The Caledonian canal path was also a lovely find and would be easier with an electric wheelchair rather than my manual wheelchair.
I absolutely loved it xxxxx

Such a lovely place, so relaxing and great places to visit near by. The local restaurants are brilliant and the local seafood is a must, our family were lucky to experience the meteor shower and northern lights on our 1st night.

Such a nice gesture from MND Scotland to provide this experience for our family, as holidays can be difficult when living with MND but this location is absolutely perfect

This lodge is situated in a beautiful peaceful park. parking and access to lodge is perfect as are all the adaptions and equipment. It is extremely spacious inside and out. As a powerchair user I found getting around park easy with access to beach and coastline not a problem. The on site chippy is amazing by the way if you can't be bothered cooking. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to book next year.

Tralee was a wonderful relaxing break,walking distance to the lovely cove beach,with an abundance of rabbits in and around the site for most of the day.the only thing I would change is the ability to allow dogs,on the wall of the lodge was a notice that stated any dogs taken would incur a £200deep cleaning charge an option for taking a dog would have been nice because dogs are allowed on the site.one week pet boarding cost us £120 we would have gladly paid the extra £80 to take our dog .

The chalet was well equipped and modern with excellent space both inside and out. It was immediately accessible from the park entrance and reception but it was still a nice quiet location. We had little reason to contact the staff but when we did they were very helpful and acted immediately. It was a short trip to the local shop which was well stocked. The surrounding area is very beautiful and we could enjoy the wonderful views from the beach by taking the car there. Finally we must give a mention to the onsite fish and chips takeaway which we found to be excellent. It was a bonus that the weather was warm and sunny for most of our visit
