We stayed in a Beach Cabin with a 1 and 2-year old. The location was fantastic near to the beach and the onsite chickens and goats kept the children entertained. Petra, the host, was friendly and had great knowledge of the local area. The lack of electricity was our main concern but the provided lanterns and candles kept the cabin light. Heating and cooking were provided by the wood-burning stove which once hot gave off enough heat to warm the cabin.
We had a fantastic break at Harvest Moon, staying in both the Treehouses and the Beach Huts. The staff were wonderfully friendly and accommodating. We went with our 2YO daughter who loved all the animals - especially feeding the Alpacas and caring for our own chicken! We were so impressed by the facilities and enjoyed lots of campfires. The location is fantastic! Especially in the beach huts as you are so closed to the huge sandy beach. We’ll definitely be back!
We had a very relaxing break at the cottage. Located on a farm near sand dunes and beach just up the coast from Dunbar, you are afforded a beautiful environment in which to walk in woodlands and along the coast. North Berwick and Dunbar are within easy reach. It was great to get away. Particularly during this virus pandemic. The staff made you feel welcome and were very helpful. A nice relaxed vibe with plenty wildlife to enjoy.
My husband and I had THE BEST stay here with our three boys. They loved every aspect of the camp. The fires, the proximity to the beach, the chickens and the goats that were next to our cabin. Unplugging and getting right back to basics was fabulous. Cooking everything "like cowboys" as my husband described it was such an experience. As a family we have definitely found "our place". I could say so much more but ultimately.....if you want to switch off, unplug and rewind then definitely the place to go. Have already recommended to all family and friends!
A great setting, with local access to the beach. Close to all amenities in the local area, which is ideal for whatever activities you are interested in during your stay. Toilet and shower facilities are perfectly adequate, if a little rustic. Ideal break for a family who want to get their kids away from modern technology and spend a little more time exploring the great outdoors.
At one with nature, had own hen, campfires, new friends, carved pretend hunting tools and explored nature.
A wonderfully relaxing break. Loved the location and the walks through the dunes and trips to John Muir park and along the Tyne. Fantastic birdlife if you are into ornithology! The cabins are well appointed with a great wood burning stove and the rechargeable lanterns provide enough light for atmospheric evenings and the cool box functions perfectly well. The staff Petra and Gary were on hand to deal with anything and very personable as well. Great holiday. Expect to return.
Lively stay and we will be back. Helpful staff. Very clean. Fantastic location on beach. Comfy bed. Great facilities.
We had booked a long weekend away for our 8 year old, us and her grandparents. Despite a last minute panic due to rapidly changing social distancing restrictions, we still enjoyed a very relaxing 3 night break. (Grandparents stayed nearby in their campervan). The weather was suddenly quite chilly but the outdoor firepit and BBQ kept us toasty warm and able to socialise late into the starry night. The cabin was very spacious for our newly reduced group, and beds were very warm and comfy. We had planned to do things in the daytimes, but all felt so relaxed and content on the site that we just...more
I am from Edinburgh and I didn't know this place existed even though it is only 30 mins away! We went as 2 families with 3 adults and 2x 7-year-old children for a long weekend. We had an amazing time!! the kids absolutely loved the area. They got to play with the chickens, goats, fed the Alpacas, and go for long walks around the area and on the beach, with no complaining!! The area is stunning and the beach was really quiet despite the weather being really good. We were in TreeHouse 4, which comes with a small granny flat beside the main treehouse. Nice and romantic. The main treehouse h...more
A Beautiful location and an amazing beach We loved staying in the Tree house and will return Chris was very helpful and accommodating Loved the fire pit accommodation was comfortable I loved Scotland great for kids
Our special place. Love it here. Really liked it when it was tents, but cabins aren't too bad a replacement! ;-)
The treehouse was a fantastic stay for our family, our children loved the treehouse and being outdoors. They enjoyed feeding the alpacas and walking to the beach, it was better than we hoped for! Staff couldn’t have been friendlier!
Loved it! Stayed with 2 young children and the grandparents. The treehouses are so unique. Amazing location. 5 minute walk past the animals to the most amazing beach. My daughter loved that she had her own swing under the treehouse. Really comfortable inside. Lovely view on the veranda over the countryside. So peaceful. Loved everything about our stay. Will definitely be back.
We've recently returned from a stay at one of Harvest Moon's Treehouses. I took along my skeptical husband and an overly-excited toddler. The holiday will go down as one of the best we've ever had and one we are already thinking of repeating. The Treehouse offered all the amenities required for a comfortable stay with ample space for our family to stretch out. The fire pit and chicken were an added bonus to the site. While the weather in October can be a challenge, we were able to enjoy the stunning beach, explore the larger site and visit the alpacas, horses, and goats and make memories we'll...more
