Aylsham Windmill, Norfolk NRll 6NB. Unusual accommodation in the ancient market town of Aylsham. Perfectly placed, halfway between the fine city of Norwich and the coast at Cromer.
Built in 1826 Aylsham Windmill was a working flour mill for almost 100 years. It was unused for more than 80 years, and has now been converted into luxurious self catering accommodation for 6 people. The accommodation is on 4 floors linked by normal domestic stairs. Aylsham is ideally placed in the centre of North Norfolk. Explore the coast, the Broads and the city of Norwich.
We were so glad to be able to stay this year as COVID had scuppered our break last year.
The mill is lovely inside and out. The rooms are all comfortable and the towels are so fluffy (we've all stayed in rentals with cardboard towels, haven't we?).
The mill has everything you need in its well-appointed kitchen and there's a gas barbecue too.
Aylsham is a great town, plenty of lovely individual shops and the fantastic butcher on Red Lion Street if you want to try out the barbecue!!
Hopefully we'll be back soon !!
